Have been shopping at Buffalo Peak for 30 years. There has been a big shift away from gear and towards clothing, which is unfortunate since there are not many outfitters in the area. Would love to see a better balance restored to the shop.

TLDR: rude and snobby go somewhere else.If you dont look like youre dripping money good luck. Out of the three or four times I have been here with the plan on buying a few hundred dollars worth of camping and hiking gear, only to be turned off at their disrespectful attutued and tone. Saturday our total would have been around the 500-600 dollars. Ive determined that I could spend my money at a store who has more respectful and attentive employees. This place needs a major overhaul. From what I have gathered by my lengthy visits, ( lengthy because Noone will come and help) they think that due to their location in a snobby par of Jackson they should just attract a specific audience, that is dripping with opulence. Save your time and find a different location to shop.

One time my mom and I went into Buffalo Peak and they let my mom and I put our groceries from Whole Foods behind the counter while we browsed. Ive never had this happen at another place before and it was a pleasant surprise given the area where most of the stores are filled with pretentious jerks. I would recommend this place to anyone that likes outdoors attire. They treat you like you are family. And they also dont constantly ask you if you need help with anything.

Buffalo Peak Outfitters offers high quality shoes, shirts, jackets, coats, and more. The staff are very friendly and helpful. But the two major problems I saw were a lack of choices between clothes, and the crazy high prices are well crazy. They may not be a lot for the main customers, JA parents and kids. Anyways, great quality, unwholesome prices.
