We used the 24/7 truck share option and it was such a smooth experience with the app!!! Highly recommend. The staff was super friendly when I misread how to find my truck. Everything was so simple. The truck was such a nice ride too, we will definitely be using this service again in the future. I also have to note that the experience was far superior to the truck rental we had with Menards recently. Dont hesitate.

Called the day of.... needed to rent a trailer... picked up a clean nice trailer and away I went. No problems at all and I was in and out rather quickly! Would highly recommend if you need to rent something!

Rent 2 U boxes 3 years ago. They were suppose to stay in Wisconsin. The manager at the time didnt listen and shipped them to Florida. I was charged 1800.00 for the shipment. Been fighting with UHaul ever since. In three years I have paid over 5700.00 in storage fees because I cannot empty anything out of them. If I go to my uhaul account it says I owe 116.000 dollars. Talk to customer service I owe nothing. Call to set appointment to enter the boxes I owe 1800 dollars. So which price is it. No one will give me answers. I have been on the phone, on hold, a total of 48 hours over the past 3 years. I have talked to about a dozen people and NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED ME BACK. Jesse Brown was suppose to contact me 3 weeks ago with an answer, he sent me an email with his response, which I cannot get into because it is in an employee only sight. I cannot reach him because I was never given a phone number and the email is a no reply email. I was given the phone to a District Manager Brady in the Florida area and he does not answer his phone or return phone calls. MY NEXT STEP IS TO CONTACT A LAWYER TO DEAL WITH THE ISSUE, PLUS THE THE MISREPRESENTATION OF TOTAL COSTS BLOWS MY MIND.

All the bad reviews about this location are true. Just stopped in Thursday to get a propane tank filled 45 minutes before close. The guy in the office tells me they have already turned off the propane for the day. I point out it’s 45 minutes before close. He proceed to walk out of the office and across the lot without a word, presumably to hide out until close. U-haul should pull their franchise. I have never met anyone in Janesville who had a good experience at this location.

I reserved a 26 truck online from this location 2 and a half weeks prior to my upcoming move. About a week out, I messaged the store through the website asking to switch to a 20 truck and never heard anything back. After a day or two of not hearing anything, I called the store and they said that they had no trucks available and directed me to their traffic department. Upon talking to them, I was informed that there were no trucks within 30 miles of the Janesville store. Not once did I hear from the Janesville location or anyone from U-Haul in general to inform me that there were no trucks available. Had I shown up on the date of the reservation, they wouldnt have had a truck for me and I wouldve been scrambling to move out of my house. An inexcusable lack of customer service. Take your money up to the Deerfield location if you can.

I have had so many horrible customer service experiences here I have lost count. I mainly used this location for filling propane tanks, but have gotten the runaround from several employees and no one ever has the same story. The final straw was when I brought in a brand new tank to be purged, because on their sign it says they do that for $4.95, and they told me Nope, we havent done that for a long time. Youll have to go somewhere else. I most certainly will, and will never come back to this location. Good riddance.

I reserved a motorcycle hauler months in advance. When I get to the facility, they hook me up with a trailer that has a shredded tire. After getting another one hooked up, I noticed one of the wheels is bent at an awkward angle. I pointed it out to the manager and he said itll be fine. They had just put a new tire on that side, he said. I told him I wasnt comfortable loading an expensive Harley on a trailer I didnt trust. He assured me if there was any issues, roadside assistance would get me going again. Needless to say that wheel I questioned blew out and I was stranded for over 2 hours waiting for assistance. Eventually I was told there was a trailer waiting for me an hour and a half away, so I went there to get the replacement, just to be told they didnt have one and couldnt help me. I will never again do business with this company.This includes corporate Uhaul who said theyd resolve the issue. Now I have to pay a hefty bill to get my Harley shipped back home.

Employees were rude and couldn’t even get my info right. Zero customer service. Gave me NO paperwork and couldn’t even provide me with a receipt. Asked me to leave because I was complaining about their inability to complete a simple task and provide me with paperwork or get my email right.

We needed to fill up our propane tank mounted to our Class A Motorhome. We found this uhaul online that said they could service us. We also attempted to call the store and could not get them to answer and got routed to corporate who knew nothing. We took our chances. So we drove a 38ft motorhome that’s towing out of the way to get here. And guess what? Their propane hose had a leak in it and has been broke for over a month and they knew of no other location that could assist. Customer service and empathy was poor. Just frustrating.

I expected more honestly. I called 2 weeks in advance of getting a trailer hitch installed and dropped my car off on time for the installation. I got a call 2 hours later (when it was expected to be finished) saying they hadnt event started it yet and would like if I could bring it in another time. I figured, hey, stuff happens so it is what it is w/e (not happy but nothing to get my undies in a bundle about). That day I set up an appointment for the following weekend, they get it installed (no discount mind you for the inconvenience of coming back another time and having to arrange for someone to pick me up while it was getting worked on). Looked good (initially). I go to hook up my trailer and the lights dont work. I figured hey, its probably my trailer so I try literally every trailer at work (4 trailers, all work with another truck) and the lights dont work! I know I have a warranty on the wiring but to take it back A THIRD TIME is just ridiculous! Please dont go here to get a trailer hitch installed, you will be disappointed.

Overcharged us by more than 70 dollars.We rented a truck for two days and instead returned it the same day. Somehow, we were charged for the truck being two days LATE and then they also charged us the cleaning fee even though I left it cleaner than how we got it. I have called three times to ask them to fix it and I am always left with the promise Ill leave a note for the manager. I can never get a hold of them and I think its too late to get them to fix it now.Update: the management changed and they are now a lot better. Sometimes understaffed but very nice people now. They fixed the issue I described above and were very apologetic. I was helped by a man named Elijah, he was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to make sure everything got fixed.

Friendly service. After returning my rental and pointing out the fuel tank must not have been topped off before I picked up the truck due to how much I had to refill it I was given a full refund for my 24 hour rental. I would definitely use them again.

So I scheduled to have a class 1 trailer hitch installed on a 2001 ford Taurus. They called an said they could get me in early. So I showed up an hour early. They did not get me in any earlier. Also after about an hour of having my car being worked on they came an told me they cannot perform the task as they could not get a bolt out due to rust an salt corrosion. They did refund my money. After looking at the bolt they rounded off an watching a YouTube video. The bolt they said they couldnt get out wasnt even part of the installation procedures for installing the hitch. So I purchased the hitch from them an after 10 min with a friends help had the hitch installed correctly myself. So very nice people but obviously not very experienced.

The place is generally good, but a couple times the service for checking in the vehicle was lacking. There didnt seem to be anyone available at the counter. It seems like they just need more staff there. Still, the prices are reasonable. The only trouble is that it almost feels like its a self-service place but Im not sure thats what theyre going for. No other alternatives in town for rentals.

If i could give this place no stars i would. Absolutely terrible customer service. They are sending me a half hour away to pick up a truck and then are charging me extra for gas, when theres one in town. Then, when i tried to get it changed to a different oocation the scheduling manager told me she has no options and to basically stick it where the sun doesnt shine. Would not recommend.

They rented to us the wrong type of trailer and initially tried to give us one with a different ID # until I pointed out it was not the one they listed on the rental contract. My daughter paid to rent a 6 x 13 extendable open back trailer and even looked at one in another state to make sure it would accommodate 14 church pews.What they reserved or assigned to me was a 6 x 13 closed end trailer with a ramp. We had to break each pew in half by lifting 1 over the front of the trailer making more heavy lifting, damage, and timely repairs to 20 pews. When we extended the rental over the phone, U-haul said we had returned our rental already.

Took my car in to get a hitch installed. After 4 hours of waiting they said that they couldn’t install the wiring to the battery and suggested I take the car to Madison to get it done. They also said that since my car is newer that there was so much plastic underneath the car that they couldn’t get the wires to get to my battery. Good thing I took my car to Madison, otherwise I wouldn’t of known that the Janesville U-Haul broke the inner plastic side of my car and they never once mention anything to me about it. This makes me so mad, just bought the car 2 weeks ago. The Madison U-Haul had to take out the wires and re-wire everything. He said that what they did, they didn’t have to go that route. So now waiting to hear from their insurance rep. I wasted a whole day just to get what would of been a 2 hour hitch installed.

So so service prices are good now I have to change it to a one star I bought a propane tank on line at U-Haul. Paid for it online. Called to have it filled,so when I picked it up it would save time. I was told they couldnt do it case I cancelled order,and it only takes a couple of minutes. Thats fine, but I went to get, no one there to fill it. So I went to ferrell gas in Janesville. It cost me 18 bucks and I get the fifth refill free. So I have to say thanks to U-Haul.

Horrible customer service. I went in to purchase a few things and asked for a quote on a trailer when I got there the price was no longer 130 but now over 700. Good old bait and switchfrom the general manager none the less. Have less than 24 hours to rethink our move. Dont know how u can hire people who dont know what they are doing. Had to buy a tow bar because they do not rent them. When opened the box you can tell it has been used before. Did not use the thing, I had used a friends car hauler. They will not return it. Do not go here. This Uhaul here in Janesville is a joke. Will not recommend to anyone.

I called uhaul last night and they guaranteed me a 10 ft truck for 2 days and return on Sunday. I got a confirmation number and everything. Got to uhaul at the scheduled time. When we got there the general manager was very trashing looking and was on her phone and was not helpful. She was talking with her friend or someone. Told her we will be returning it Sunday and she said no it needs to be back by 4 tonight. I said that’s not what the reservation stated on the confirmation. This is very first house and your telling me that you want us to move in less then 4 hours when I was promised it 48. I asked her to call around to other stores and she told us no. Then she proceeded to tell me that I am being very disrespectful when I was just frustrated that we were told something and she’s not helping at all.

Reservation got transferred without notice. Got to the place and it didnt open until 11. Reservation was at 9 for 6 hours. Called the owner. Sent me back a text saying we could wait and then happily accept what we get or we could go jump in a lake.

If I could 0 star the place I would, they suck, weve been sitting in the parking lot for 2 hours waiting for our dolly to be hooked up (because they have to hook them up now apparently), the store is packed with people waiting, there are people outside waiting to be helped, and they have ONE GUY WORKING!!! ONE!!! I have now wasted 2 of my 6 hours I get the dolly without having to pay extra and I still havent been helped. Might I add, the guy working is very rude!! I wont come here again if I dont have too, drive the distance to go to another (not that its any better) if you can! 0 starts from me!!

Rented a car hauler the guy working was all by himself on a Sunday at the end of the month as someone quit, he was extremely busy and apologetic about the wait and chaos. He did a great job all things considered would come back to this location if i ever need a Uhaul in the area again.

My Son Reserved a Uhaul for 9am on Saturday morning at this location on line. He went in to pick up his truck. They did not have one for him. They rented it out to someone else. They told him to go to a different location to get it ( mind you his EMAIL stated this location). So he drove to the other location further away yo get his supposed truck. Well guess what?? They were closed. Not to be open for 2 more hours. Called no answer. Went bak to the orginal pick up location got no where. They blamed scheduling. Then 1800 go uhaul to talk to them. They blamed the next guy. Talked to the next person anf guess what?? Again passed the blame. The truck was reserved with an email for proof. NO PHONE CALL OR ANOTHER EMAIL STATING THE LOCATION WAS CHANGED. Was not happy. Will Not go Back. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE. NO ONE CARED FOR THE SCREW UP!! NO ONE CARED THE SITUATION THAT WE WERE PUT IN. NO ONE TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MESS UP INCLUDING MANAGEMENT AT PLACE OF BUSINESSAND CALLING THE 1800 GO UHAUL COMPANY!! NO ONE APOLOGIZED EXCEPT for the one guy in Scheduling who tried to get us a truck like we were attempting to rent at the last minute when we actually had one reservedwhich we never recieved!!!! My truck rental experience with this particular location began well, but ended sour. The staff was friendly and helpful during the ordering process, but quickly became defensive when I had a small problem with my truck rental. I felt that the truck had been rented to me in an unsafe condition, and upon returning the truck I asked to see evidence that the truck had been examined before it was rented. This staff member became mildly defensive, handed me a receipt for the rental, and while quickly walking away from me said youre all set. This staff member did not return to complete the truck check-in process until I began exiting the parking lot.

I scheduled a 386$ hitch wiring etc a00t online. Showed up and they said I actually had to CALL THEM BECAUSE THE ONLINE HITCH APPT. DOESNT WORK/ISNT EFFACED WITH THEIR SYSTEM OF APPTS.SO THEY REFUND ME and say Call....so over a week later I call again and of course after sitting on hold. ...I get bounced to the call center who assures me that there is an tech to install mine..... I ASKED 3X. so I load 4 kids and a dog in my prius again and head out immediately with no gas so we could be on time. Get there and wait in line for 25 min to even talk to someone / check in. The 2nd guy there just walked out....employee. right after I got there so all the 3 8n front of me....waited for one overworked kid. I get there and find out....oh even after being assured that I would be getting a hitch that day...turns out the call center person double booked me and underc ooked me. She said hitch installs were 3 hours and that I might have to leave my car overnigjt....um no. I drive a hou + and have 4 kids and a dog. So she says sure...I should be able to still get u done tonight. Drive there and we camt even get a answer for damn near 45 min. So at our 4pm appt.... I was there. I finally talked to the store manager who was called *in....to deal with it. She was nice and yet exacerbated that not only did I book online wait a hour the previous week to get checked in and then refunded but now Ive called as I was told....and the same thing. Driving for no reason. So I made a appt for 4pm with her on Friday and she said wed and thurs are open at 5 do call back if u want a change. I called again today and was bounced to green bay. And twice to illinois. I said I didnt want to schedule with them or even ask...(.I wanted to talk with the horses mouth cause Im sick of being treated like a horses ass).... I waited on hold for 30 min and 29 sec before I talked to janesville and that is only because greenbay. Called the cell phone number for the manager. ... turns out 530. Thursday was available. Boy.... we fixed that in one minute verifying weather there was a appt avail today yet or not. Didnt need to take 30 min.... I feel bad for janesville because they are considerably understaffed when every time u go in it takes 20 to 30 min of standing there to get the chance to talk to someone. Ive already spent 3 hours driving to appts that didnt work. And now 45 min in the phone between both calls.... and not to mention gas and my kids wanting to kill each other during the 3 hours in 90+ degrees... this could be solved bya> a system online that works or delete the option to book work online.B> make sure when the call gets jumped to a call center or whatever that those folks dont take time wasting libertiesC> get janesville some more staff! They now I see have horrible reviews so this has obviously been going on for a long time.Lastly I will say that me liss a in jville. The store manager has been kind enough to work out some labor costs I guess although my appt isnt for 3 days and I shall see..... Im hoping condensation does occur because Ive wasted 4 hours already on a hitch. I guess I should have paid a little more and had my body guy install it when he fixes the cars mirror. ..but then uhaul advertises convenience of which this is definitely not been my experience. .

With the exception of the man that does their hitch installation (ryan I believe), this place is filled with the biggest group of useless idiots on a staff at any business I have ever went into or purchased anything from in my life. Had an appointment scheduled for 3pm that didnt begin until 5. My time wouldve been more well spent eating dog shiit than dealing with any of these wastes of human beings.

This is for uhaul on East Milwaukke st in Janesville. Extremely understaffed so they do not answer the phone then you are directed to a call center which is confusing and worthless so then you have to go in the store just to find 10 people in line and rude customer service. This company I would imagine is staying under staffed so they do not have to pay extra employees when they are slow but man is it backfiring! Myself and 2 other people just walked out while I was there and I bet multiple people a day that cant get thru to the the phone never come in to do business so they are losing hundreds if not thousands of dollars a day! I personally was going to buy a $150 hitch setup for our SUV and another $50 reciever and ball and $20 trailer wiring kit and maybe a $75 brake controller as well so they lost almost $300 in sales just with me. I couldnt believe how the lady behind the counter was talking to customers..Im sure she is equally frustrated with being short staffed but when you are in a position of customer service you just put your happy face on and get thru it whatever it takes. I know I own a business and have had to deal with frustrated people before and I wouldnt talk to a customer the way she was. Unless you have loads of spare time on your hands I wouldnt even waste your time going down there. I have now ordered my trailer hitch from farm and fleet and would rather wait a day for it to show up than to deal with uhaul.

I gave them one star only because there isn’t a negative star, my wife ordered a tow trailer online then called customer service to verify before I went over this took maybe 20 minutes went to pick it up this yahoo told me another location in town was picking it up so we called customer service back and they said there’s no such thing 🤔 this pos just made up a lame story that wasn’t true and get this corporate tried calling there for ten minutes and no answer never will I go back

Reserved a trailer on June 1st for pickup June 23rd. Did express check in, get guaranteed pick up date and time. Get to Uhaul and they dont have a trailer, but they will give me a little larger one but it will cost more per day plus more for the insurance coverage. I had to call customer service in order to find out I am supposed to get price of what I reserved. Manager of Uhaul says ooops, didnt see that. Classic bait and switch maneuver. Will go elsewhere next time!

A woman named Tish/Trish was extremely rude and impatient. She became very defensive when she could not answer questions I asked. Then transferred me, where I waited on the phone for 15 mins. I hung up and called back the following day to make sure that the cancelation for my reservation had gone through and the reservation was still active. The woman name SueHaley at this Janesville location was able to not only confirm my reservation wasnt cancelled but she went ahead cancelled and then above and beyond asked to help me reserve my future location. She deserves a raise. Tish/Trish does not.

This place accused me of making drugs using my lp tank and would not fill my tank. because of rumor on the internet The only place I have ever had my tank is on grill and at there location to be filled. I cleaned and new crossover burners on my this year and noticed a blue green deposits on my burners this is the same color that is on my tank that is the reason that they say is the reason they will not refill my thank. the flame on grill has not been wright a summer They have the anhydrous ammonia in there tank and it contaminates everyone tanks so they can sell more new tanks or accuse us of making drugs I bought there tank with a gauge a year the gauge shows empty at half full not worth the money they dont deserve one star but u cant post with out it the girl was very short with and walk off very slow service walk to back of store to get waited on

The staff are very friendly, and the vehicles are clean and operate well. If you plan to pick-up your rental at store-opening time, be prepared to stand in line for awhile because there is a rush at that time.
