Prices are great! Meat is good quality. But the cashiers could definitely take a class in courtesy. There are a couple that are nice but wow! Quit your job if you hate it that much and dont take it out on me!

Have been shopping here for over 20 years but over the last few weeks I have been getting nothing but rude check out people. Got into a disagreement today over freaking grapes. All of the packages are open but you have to buy the whole package according to the checkout girl who reprimanded me in front of everybody at the checkout counter. There are plenty of places to shop for food and this is not one of them...... anymore

I dont think Ill be shopping here any time soon. I fell down inside the store. They had a cart for stacking the shelfs. Sticking out I was being careful it was in the meat department. A kind man help me up. He than told the worker in that department. She comes out & ask if I was ok. I said no Im not ok my knee is hurt. Than she goes back in her department & never came back out. My husband came into the store I told him what happened. He goes to find someone about the cart. The man tells him its not his department go to meat department. Well I told my husband they already knew & did nothing. Im hurt & the workers did not care about their customers.

Im not from here,,Im from Jersey: you would think the prices would be better farther south,,but thats not true.. I was going to buy some fing wings, The price they was charging chased me out the store,,some prices are competitive,,but still if and when I shop in this city,,,Ill go to Walmart.

Awesome!!! They have some homemade chocolate you can buy by the pound, & I found my Christmas roast just in time! The Santa mannequin in the front of the store really put the cherry on the top!

I think they mostly only hire crackheads here. This place is pretty much a place that you just want to get your stuff and get out. It wouldnt hurt if they taught their employees some customer service skills as well.

We have always shopped here because the meats are great value and great product. Always having great sales on everyday items. The only part of the store that needs a little help on is the deli. Sometimes you go there and they take forever to get your order or the workers are in really bad moods and take it out on customers.

Dont count on them honoring their ad prices. I was there today to pick up some things and it happened again that they wouldnt honor a current ad price They tend to use the word typographical error a lot. They also fail to post a sign indicating it.Remember a few weeks ago when they advertised their daily lunch take out specials.... you go to pick up an item that they advertised in an ad week after week and are told we dont go by the ad, we make up our own deli specialsA couple weeks ago I ordered 50 pieces of chicken from the deli for a get together. Ordered it two weeks in advance, called to remind the day before and when I sent my husband to pick it up at the scheduled time he was told they didnt have it. They did scramble while he was waiting and gathered some up although it wasnt what I requested. I dont plan on shopping there again.

It is a good store and has been here for awhile.

Kaitlyn was absolutely horrible. She moved and slammed my items on the belt when they were apparently not where she wanted it. She literally threw around items such as chips. She makes this business look bad. I will not be returning to this store anytime soon. I hope shes a temp. The store was packed and she took longer moving my items around instead of just doing her job.

Employees complain about doing their job, nobody can wear a mask properly, and overall the store is dirty. Will never return here again.

I used to run in for quick items and liked the cashiers very much, but I too have found expired items and worse. Once, after following a terrible odor, I found a package of hamburger with a hole in the plastic and foul, rotted meat within. It was so bad that I was gagging. It wasnt a surprise; the temperature of the meat on the top was often warm to the touch and at times the frozen food was soft. I think there is an inconsistency in the temperatures in their very old refrigeration, or perhaps it is kept at a warmer temp to keep their energy costs down. Its an ongoing problem and possibly the reason for the strong odor near the back of the store. I wish I could be giving a positive review to a small hometown store, but I think its their responsibility to properly handle the food for everyones safety. If this is what is happening out front, I cant even imagine what might be happening in the back. High standards for cleanliness and food safety is what everyone should expect. I had to revisit this store and found that there was one freezer unit that was replaced since my last visit so I added a star to my review. I hope to see continued improvements. Im really rooting for their success and was glad to see the upgrades.

I enjoy and prefer locally owned grocery stores because they always seem to be trying a little bit harder. And Ideal Market does it well.

Nice store,not so friendly cashier, Did not greet us or thank us was upset we bought rolled hamburger and bagged chicken she had to pick up.

The cashiers tend to be extremely slow moving as though there are no customers in line and everyone that is in line is there to chat. Often Ive had a cashier thank me and then say God bless; thats not something I come to the grocery store to hear, religious views should be kept to ones self.As others have mentioned the store has an odd odor, they really should try to combat this odor by doing a thorough cleaning of all of their refrigeration units.

I can not go in this store because of the foul odor! You have to watch what you buy because items being expired! I have seen meat repackaged with new food coloring but meat was actually expired. A lot of older people use this store, I guess they think they are fooling them. Ill go to Rite-aid to get bread before this place.

Good for a quick stop to pick up something you need. Easy to get in and out. Since its smaller, there isnt as much selection, but its still pretty good.

Ive given this place countless chances to get with the program and Ive been too nice to leave a review but its been 10 years Ive lived near this place and Im over it.Mostly older judgemental staff is rude to younger people.Produce is habitually rotten. I cant remember a time when there went flies on the onions and tomatoes. I can remember when the avocados werent either coo hard or so rotten that they mush like a soggy pastry.Fruits are pathetic. Rotten or picked too early. Horrible selection, less than acceptable quality.Red meats go bad with in a day if youre lucky, chicken is almost always rotten as soon as you open it.Dairy coolers are part date on many yogurts and cheeses, etc.Hot foods are embarrassing. I have notices and nephews under 13 that can make better dishes.Canned good selection is patheticEverything is overpriced.Other than Leo, staff is no knowledgeable about anything they sell.I refuse to go here anymore and Im spreading the word to every one I know.Get it together or close your doors.

Also the boy who bagged my groceries was talking to another clerk and forgot to put my drinks in my cart. If I hadnt noticed on my way out I would have not had my drinks. P. S. He also did it to the lady behind me she told me outside.

By far the rudest, most unprofessional and miserable people I have ever met. At least at the geistown location. I went in to get help in regards to a gift card for a homeless family’s Christmas Dinner and they tried to force me to buy something, using the money for the family, before they would answer my gift card balance inquiry question. They also mark up their stamps and sell them cash only so they can pocket the money and not pay taxes on them. Add in the rotted meat and spoiled vegetables and you get one of the biggest embarrassments to the greater Johnstown economy. You should all be ashamed!However, huge thank you to Barb at the Walnut Street location for quickly answering my question and apologizing for the inept geistown branch.

The store is a little difficult to navigate but they always seem to have everything I need/looking for in stock the parking can be difficult at times.... during this particular time of the year the bell ringers stand in front of the store and kind of force you to walk out into traffic to get around them into the store.... managment doesnt seem to do anything about this hazzard unfortunately 😔

11/1/2019I went in to get a few items and needed to leave after gagging at the smell near the meat section.While paying for my items a employee announced she was quiting by loudly usingfoul language infront of children.She then proceeded to walk out of the store and have a verbal argument with another employee in the parking lot.
