If I was going to rate this as a Tourist Trap I would give it 10 stars. Right off the cruise ship dock this place offers their famous smoked salmon and King Crab. The crab comes at the low low price of $50 a pound. My wife and I are from Seattle so we were in no way going to pay this outrageous price. We also flew to Juneau and were not off a cruise ship. It is little more than an upscale gift shop featuring local fish. If thats your thing then feel free to partake. I would prefer to spend my money elsewhere in town. After looking at the photo and the owner response it was not $50, it was $48.75.

Oh my gosh you guys advertised sable fish on sale you neglected to say it is almost 1 year old fish (No where into your description does it say that the packages are a year old) I never would’ve bought it had I known it was a year old, it tasted horrible! I had to throw out the other two packagesAlso the shrimp I ordered, they are NOT the size I ordered AND They too were 11 months old as well and not cleaned properly! We couldn’t even eat them they tasted horrible.I took photos with dates and lot numbersI have eaten fish my entire life and cooked it thousands of ways but this stuff is simply too old!I would like a refund!

There are two reasons why I rated Taku 5 stars. The first is quality. I have had a lot of smoked salmon, and this was the best I have ever had. I bought a filet of sockeye for breakfast and at the whole thing in about 5 minutes. The other reason is you can see what you are buying and they let you try before you buy so you know exactly how good their product is. There are other places where they try to sell you a box of smoked salmon and you have no idea what you are getting until you open the box.

Prices seem really expensive but the store is clean and they have samples so you will know if you like it before you buy. Easy to get to the store as it is right off the dock from the ships.

We had 2 pounds of Salmon smoked,and shipped from Juneau to Oklahoma,there was a fedex maintenance delay and a fog delay but our Salmon arrived just as good as ever,the fisheries on their own upgraded our shipping time,we recieved it and still frozen solid,i will use them again.
