Sign on door says only fully vaccinated dont have to where a mask,, felt discriminated against so I canceled out my Academy Sports Credit card.

I notified them that I was there at curbside for pick up online. I waited 15 minutes a called to make sure they knew I was there. She told me someone would be right out. I waited another 15 minutes and called again to tell them I was just going to leave that I had waited 30 minutes and notified them twice that I was there. She assured me someone would be right out. 5 minutes later someone brought my pick up order and Id me. I would not recommend doing a pick up order here.

I went in Academy Sports today for the first time looking for a specific shoe. After browsing for a few minutes I approached a young man named Conner working in the Shoe Department. He was super knowledgeable, very friendly, and suggested alternatives. I thanked him and steered in the direction he suggested. After a few minutes, Conner came to check and make sure I was ok and asked if I had any other questions. After working Retail Management for many years, I recognize good customer service. This young man, Conner, was a Shining Star today. Wish there were one of him everywhere I shopped!

I go here several times a year. The selection is usually good and you can find clearance prices on some clothing items. They never have enough registers open tho, today we waited about 8 minutes just to pay. 2 open lines total.

This place has a vast of inventory to choose from for most of the popular sports. Only down side they Only had one cash register open on my visit but cash register agent was efficent.

Big tall older manager was quite rude and tried to argue with me. We have an academy card but will be calling and canceling because dont think we will be back. Things on discount rack and no other rack in store with it he tried to say it would have a green or blue or something tag us as customers go by where it is. He did as a 1 time courtesy he said. It was his fault he only had 1 rack of swim suits and his help put it all discounted. Who would pay 110 bucks for a swimsuit. He still got full price because girl rag up 2 tickets on a single bathing suit. Still cost 57 bucks when it should have been half that. Got to watch them. We wont be back. I still would like my 50 percent off.

Went here for one thing and wound up getting several. Great selection! Great prices! Even more importantly it has items in stock😁😁 Nothing worse than needing something and its not there. The staff was friendly and helpful and the cashier was quick.

It was pricey here. They do have a good selection of stuff. We bought a hand bike pump and a dike rack that attaches to our suvs trunk.

Spent over a thousand dollars here bought a firearm and a safe. The man checking me out was very rude from the second I said hello to him and didnt even offer me any help or suggestions. I had to remind him three times that I wanted to buy the safe to, also had a friend with me who was a bit more knowledge on firearms than me, and thought I was buying it for him and was about to refuse the sale. Keep in mind we all had CCW permits After TWO HOURS and tying up half of the store employees we were on our way out. I think Ill stick to ordering my items online these people are really giving brick and motor stores a bad name.F.y.i you can order fire arms online, just have to have them shipped to a FFL of which I do have a contact for much friendlier person to.

Went in because their ad displayed Skechers on sale. I including the specific style I wear.i was also hoping to find a pair of hiking boots. Went in, walked through the mens department, then realized the footwear was on the other side of the store. I walked over, finally found the few boots they had but, when I tried to find something in my size I couldnt make sense of their organization on the shelf. Actually, disorganization would be a better word. Anyway, I gave up and found the shoes but, once again my size was nowhere to be found. Neither was anyone willing to help. In fact, the only person who spoke to me was the young lady at the door as I was leaving. I didnt get did you find what you were looking for or anything that might have been helpful. Just have a nice day, then quickly look away. Last year I spent a couple thousand dollars with Academy, I suspect it will be a long time before that happens again, if ever. Im feeling like never at the moment. I did go back in and grab a few pictures to demonstrate it wasnt because they were too busy to help. Quite the opposite.

Went in looking for a cartop carrier for an up coming trip. They had what I needed and the staff very helpful. On the negative side, the store was a mess, a lot of empty shelves and much merchandise just lying around.

We always go school shopping here. The staff has always been friendly. Most of the clothes are pricey but thats to be expected since they are name brands, however there are always items on sale.

Went to academy sport shopping for a chair with my wife and being a man of color was followed through out the store, even up to the cashier. after seeing me pay they immediately dispersed. Called for manager and explained situation, and he lied and said we do not follow people. in 2021 Academy Sports still miss treat people of color.

The staff was very helpful! I needed a couple pellet guns bore sighted. The man at the counter worked to find the right size adapter for quite some time. Unfortunately they never could get it done. I really appreciated the effort though.

Was looking for decent pair of fishing sunglasses. They only had cheap ($12-$25) that were not polarized or just not right or way too expensive ($200+). Also needed a new neck gaiter. They had none. Staff are very nice and helpful. They are usually stocked pretty decent. Not today.

My wife and I came in to buy her a new handgun on Thursday afternoon Aug. 27 at 3:00 pm. They were out of what we originally wanted. I asked the young man behind the gun counter for alternatives as I am not an expert. He said they were out of a lot of guns and had no suggestions. There were a lot of guns on display. He was more interested in talking to his friend hanging out. No other customers at gun counter. We left having come from 20 miles away and went to Eagle Rock gun store. They suggested alternatives and we ended up buying 2 guns at about $900 from Eagle Rock.

Really good but the whole nation is been shopping here they really need to increase their inventory of fitness equipment. They have decreased some of their store brand clothing like Magellan. But they can be high on some of the things. But overall one of the better sport stores we have in America. May you look to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

The store as a whole,I love it and frequent it with my husband. BUT, the older, heavy set short haired Grey/blonde that works at the kannapolis Academy is a rude, impenitent and judgmental word i am not going to say. Also, the night manager on 5.18.18. Shes told us she cant do returns when we know what the return policy is for academy. The cashier and manager both tried to tell us this lie. Shes accused my husband of not buying the shoes when he said he did and so on. She needs to take a class on customer service. Or be suspended. Shes vile.Thats all.On a positive note, tonight 5.21.18 we had a present experience with a lovely cashier named Molly. She was polite. She went straight in and did her job. She was nice to talk to which is a nice change to the normal treatment there. She should receive a raise for going above and beyond. Thank you Molly!

They have become horrible at keeping their guns and ammunition in stock. I drove nearly 30 miles one way to get a gun from them. I had three different pistols in mind in case they did not have exactly what I wanted. After I drove all that way then they did not have any of them in stock so I had to settle for one that I did not like as much because I had already come so far. It is also hard to find good guns and ammunition on line because half or more of the time then they are out of stock online to! Do not wast your time on them until they step up their game.

Bought something very heavy. They wheeled it out and loaded it into my truck for me. Very helpful and polite.
