Yum! Tasty soft serve and taiyaki! I love this place and usually go with the custard filling taiyakis. They have been switching up the ice cream lately and unfortunately the last time I was there they didn’t have a single flavor that appealed to me. I went with green tea, which is good, but it’s not my favorite. Hopefully they bring back their original flavors. I’ll be back!

Great flavors and the staff was friendly. I love the fact that the price includes a strawberry or macaroon for toppings, your choice. I definitely recommend getting the taiyaki (fish waffle) to bring in a crispy delicious texture to your soft serve. They have social distancing implemented and all the orders must be to go since they have the dine-in space closed at the moment in order to prevent indoor gathering to keep everyone safe.

Pros: Fast service, good quality, sweet but not too sweet.Cons: Kind of pricey? $7 for ice cream + cone + topping. Guess thats about right? No samples and no place to sit inside... just order and go..No mixing flavors, no kids sizes... very limited options.If I could give it 4.5 stars I would, but guess 4 will do for now and see how next visit goes!Had the upside down Ube with Red bean and coconut flakes

First timer Ive had Taiyaki in the USA. Somi somi has transformed this to an American version most here in the US will love. I on the other hand, prefer the less sweet red bean paste in Japan, known as adzuki. I also like the dough cooked a little more than what I have experienced at Somi Somi on my last two visits.The matcha soft serve ice cream with matcha powder sprinkles is delicious, although Id like more matcha blended in the ice cream. But I realize this wouldnt be palatable for most Americans, so Ill settle for. Ive been back many times since theyve opened, so I recommend everyone give then a try!

If youre thinking about trying somisomi I definitely recommend coming to this location instead of the Sugar Land location. Everything at this location is fresh. Make sure to try their strawberry milk, its adorable and delicious. Their custard taiyaki was amazing!

First time here and it was absolutely amazing! I am lactose intolerant and all of their soft serve is lactose free plus the flavors are amazing! Very nice staff, a great place to grab something sweet and go! I will definitely be coming back and plus it looks super cute!

Friendly service, great soft-serve ice cream. As a Filipino, I am a big fan of their Ube flavor which, in my biased opinion, is much better than Taro (though theyre both purple). Bit on the pricey side but it is well worth it. Highly recommend.

Wow! You need to stop by here for one of these unique and very delicious Ice creams. I tried the horchata and it is on point! The fish is literally made in front of you as its coming out from the mold. Its a very good compliment to the ice cream that you are going to enjoy.

I forgot to take a picture of the food because I took a bite and couldnt stop! The ube soft serve is great, and the hojicha soft serve was super intense and delicious! Great service. Love the simple, uncomplicated menu layout too.

OMG! So good. Excellent dessert and service. The cashier helped me decide which ice cream to try. I got UBE & HORCHATA. It tasted like cinnamon toast crunch and deliciousness. Lol!! The waffle fish was delicious. I got it with custard. My friend got milk & oreo. He said it was delicious as well. Im sure this place stays busy. Ill definitely be back. Very clean. Everything is made in front of you.

A wonderful place for taiyaki and soft serve ice cream. Taiyaki are delicious fish shaped pancakes filled with a sweet filling like custard, red bean, Oreo, Nutella or even cheese. They can also be used as a cone or complement of soft serve ice cream in such flavors as vanilla, chocolate, matcha, taro, ube and others. Prices are very reasonable for a sweet treat, they are hard to beat.

Both the soft serve and the taiyaki are delicious, I highly recommended. The line can get long but the wait is totally worth it. The ice cream is super creamy and the matcha one has a great matcha flavor.

Im pretty sure that this will be available in heaven. The taro ice cream is really great, and the waffle cone shaped like a fish just finishes it off. I noted that I did not see any half eaten dishes of the soft serve. There is nothing like this, so you have to try it. If you live in Katy, it will be a regular.

The food is good. The service...not so much. The split ticket system used to make the soft serve versus the packs of taiyaki failed. We got our soft-serves, but after 20 minutes and 3 groups leaving ahead of us, I still didnt have my taiyaki. Left, leaving $8 of my hard-earned cash and an hour drive back home.Sadly, even though I love taiyaki, stealing $8 means I wont step foot back in the place. Hopefully, theyll do better for others going forward.

The ice cream here was absolutely some of the best ice cream i have ever had in my life. The ice cream was so rich and flavorful and creamy and smooth! Not to also mention the pastries that they use as the cone and sell on their own which are just absolutely amazing and to die for! As well as just the general culture behind the establishment and of the establishment is amazing and vibrant. Overall one of the best ice cream places Ive ever been to and most likely will stay like that.

Didnt know what to expect but it was so yummy! They only offer the upside down version during COVID-19 though. Soft cone fishy was amazing! We truly enjoyed it and its the best weve ever had.

Their soft serve ice cream was so creamy and delicious. Got the Oreo with a custard filled waffle fish and the Ube with a red bean filled waffle fish. And the toppings were free! It was oh so good. If you’re craving soft serve, this is the place to go! Staff were friendly and the service was fast. Worth the drive.

This was very good. I got the green tea flavored soft-serve and the red bean filling. We live in Spring, but will definitely drive down to Katy for this.

Wish I checked this out sooner. Happy to have a go-to ice cream place with the Ube flavor, my husbands favorite! especially when I havent seen ube ice cream at H Mart in awhile. The cookies & cream and the matcha flavors are also delicious, cant wait to try more

Seriously a must try place!! I’m not much of a soft serve person but this place changed me, I come here at least once a week to satisfy my sweet tooth. My absolute favorite is the matcha and milk tea swirl. The fish cone is super yummy too! It complements the ice cream well, and the filling too (I always get custard). The Taiyaki is also super good when they’re fresh and warm, I get the Nutella and custard filling but I’m definitely gonna try others. Just a tip if you get the taiyaki eat it fresh because it does get soggy (my mistake haha)

Love this place! I always try to visit if Im in the area! I hate to admit it, but Im not used to eating Red Bean or Taro so I usually get the more basic flavors, I think its an acquired taste. Luckily they have other flavors like nutella and Custard for people like me. And the milk tea ice cream with nutella filled Tayaki is amazing!They dont have dine in, but theres a seating area in the strip with a few benches.

The ice cream and staff were amazing! All flavors we tried were delicious. Matcha, Oreo, and Milk.The main issue we had was that there was no way to know what flavors were available at this location. Meaning that our family members who are unable to leave home were not able to decide on what they wanted till we sent them a picture of the menu once we got there. It would be very helpful if there was a way to know this ahead of time online!

Extremely yummy taiyaki, it is really pricey though (2 for $13 yikes). Wish they had high chairs in there. There is usually a line, but they make it really fast. Love the ice cream.

First time trying Korean soft serve and it was delicious. I chose the Ube & Matcha combination with a custard-filled Taiyaki. Drove all the way from Spring and it was well worth the drive. I will be sure to come back more often and support this business.

Somisomi was an amazing place, the soft serve has many combinations that you can do such as how the cone is presented, what flavor soft serve you want, and what filling you want in your taiyaki *waffle*. The flavors are on rotation some times so if you find one that you like but is on rotation it changes out every week so keep on the look out for your favorites.They also sell apparel such as lanyards, button and more to show your support for the businessP.s topping are free and can be things like sprinkles, cocoa pebbles etc. They will also add a free macaron if you desire which why pass that up its delicious

You want a hot treat or a cold treat? Either way you need a fish. Simple yet difficult when choosing your flavors and toppings. I would recommend for starters getting a taiyaki with custard filling. For the soft serve just choose whichever flavors you like because it all taste good.

I’d say 3.5 stars... in general the ice cream is good, good flavors and all. But I have a big problem with the size of it. It’s so much ice cream for one person, we could have certainly shared (we had to take it home with us, like most of it, bc of how much ice cream we got).But I like the variety and difference on flavors they have, I mean beet ice cream?!? It tastes really good! And the Nutella fish waffles 😍 (Nutella lover here!) are just to die for! Even though I could only eat one 😅Maybe reconsider the size, at least now we know and if we ever go back, we’ll just share one 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Ugh this place is amazing. i got so many different flavors over so many different occasions i dont even remember what i loved so much anymore. i need to go there again and again and again. this is my new favorite ice cream place after stacked closed down. its so sad that place went away, but this place better stay in business forever.

Small snacks place, ordered the custard & taro tayiaki. Freshly made it was pretty good. As for ice cream got the Oreo & milk tea twist. The tea over power the Oreo flavor but I liked it.

For people who dont know, Taiyaki is a waffle in the shape of a fish.This place is great. You choose whats in the Taiyaki, like nutella or bean paste or whatever you want, and you can get it with ice cream. There are lots of combinations of fillings and ice creams.You can get just the stuffed waffles 5 for $8, which is a good deal...I recommend this place to anybody who would like waffles and/or ice cream. The food is good in the prices are fairly cheap.The only strange thing is they sell drinks, either strawberry milk, or cold brew coffee... But its at $5+ each..Still wants five stars for me. Ill be coming back.

This place was amazing. The ice cream was delicious and the shop itself was cute. Now please not due to Covi-19 only a few people are allowed in the shop. And you must wear a mask when entering. I ordered the milk tea icecream with red bean filling and sprinkles. It was delicious. I recommend coming with friends and enjoying the flavors.

Newly opened and still going through some kinks. We got a few variety: black sesame/ube, oreo/milktea, and just milktea. They have a variety of fillings which is nice and ates a nice ending when you get to the cone portion. The cone portion is thin and becomes pretty apparent its going to get messy since the ice cream melts quickly with the filling is warm. The ice cream flavors arent over sweet or heavy, which we liked. We mostly enjoyed it and hope their kinks resolve with time. Well come back to try other flavors.

Absolutely incredible! We had the milk tea and sesame upside down with custard and the milk and oreo upside down, no filling. We also got a custard taiyaki and nutella taiyaki. All I can say is that everyone needs to try this place for themselves!

I decided to get the Milk Ice cream with custard filling and sprinkles on top. I love the how subtle yet sweet enough the flavor is. Inside the shop it was pretty small and was pretty crowded and loud. It can get pretty messy (learned the hard way) so I would recommend eating it there or outside.

I always enjoy this place. The flavors are simple and they have their staples with a couple rotating flavors or seasonal flavors that simply make this place great and reliable in flavor rotation. My favorite is the ube!!

Super cute, tasty ice cream and taiyaki. The taiyaki is crispy pancake with a filling of your choice. The ice cream is soft serve and can come served by itself in a cup, with a taiyaki on top, or with the taiyaki as an ice cream cone.

I love this place! The ice cream here is so good. Ive gotten both their milk and ube/matcha flavored ice cream. Red bean flavoring is on point here. Plus, you can chose some various topings.

I ordered the taiyaki with red bean and one with custard filling. It was crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside...more like mochi texture. They give you a small amount of filling which has the perfect sweetness. Eat it while it is warm! Also got the soft serve (oreo milk tea flavor) which can be served as a taiyaki cone or taiyaki on top or even by itself with your choice of cereal, cookie topping, fruit and/or macaron cookie.

Limited ice cream flavors to choose from. I got the Oreo and milk tea swirl with the custard filled taiyaki. It was good; flavors weren’t too strong. Service was okay. Also, seating is limited but there are benches outside.

This business is my daughters and my favorite dessert place. You can order ah-boong (soft-served ice cream on a fish-shaped waffle cone) and taiyaki (waffle fish purse with filling). The ah-boong that weve tried are ube and ube/black sesame swirl. You can put unlimited toppings on the ah-boongs. For the taiyaki, we tried the custard and Nutella fillings. We like all of our choices. Well definitely go again. Weve gone to the Sugar Land and Katy locations.

Tasty ice cream and reasonably price for the amount of ice cream and size of taiyaki along with toppings. Their matcha milk tea swirl and ube milk tea swirl is especially good! Staff was friendly.

If you are a celiac dont come here, the staff dont know what gluten is. Though the ice cream is gluten-free found out through my own research, the risk of cross contamination is extremely high.

I have a serious problem with biting into things before taking a picture. Anyway, the ice cream was good! I got the matcha/milk tea swirl, it was really good! We got a variety of taiyaki; custard, red bean, taro, Nutella, red bean with cream cheese. They accidentally gave me a cheddar instead of taro but the person making taiyaki fixed it and gave me the correct one. I definitely recommend to try out!

Just tried somi somi tonight. I tried the milk & matcha swirl. Milk is super creamy. Matcha is sweet with a matcha flavor (no bitterness). Matcha kinda reminds me of the green tea latte at Starbucks. I also tried the sesame & ube swirl. Sesame has a nutty flavor to it that overpowers the ube a little. Both were delicious though. The fish waffles (forgot name) were PERFECT.

Like...Its cute, cheap, lactose free ice cream with a waffle fish. Eat it already!
