Egan exceeds our expectations with exceptional customer service and quality! We trust their judgment and recommendations. They’re outstanding because they communicate and take the time to listen.
Egan has always been very efficient and professional. We had our clutch repaired in a car this past week they were on top of it car came back functioning great and clean will return.
Exceptional service! Great communication and wonderful people.
These guys are amazing and I would 10/10 recommend them. I spent $300 at a dealership before coming to Egan, and the dealership had my car for the whole day, didn’t even fix my problem, and wouldn’t look at it again when I brought it back in and showed them I was still having issues. Egan had my car for about an hour, found&fixed my problem, and send me on my way before lunchtime. It’s about a week later and my car still sounds great!
Took a week+1 day instead of a single day, and got the nice surprise of an additional $330 charge on pick up. Average to poor communication. Had to call at the end of the day or first thing the next morning to find out parts were delayed or that it wouldn’t be finished when they said. I’ve had great experiences in the past, but I’ll go elsewhere now. Three stars because some issues were outside of the shops control, but better communication about the increase in price and delays should have been a higher priority.
Had to get Valve Lifters replaced on GMC Yukon. It was clear from working with them they have done this service a lot. They prepared and warned me of what problems I could be facing and at no time did I ever feel pressured into doing more work than necessary. If you are thinking about just going to the dealership I would definitely recommend looking here first.
Egan Automotive saved us! Im a firefighter and was on duty when my wife called me with car problems. I couldnt leave my job, so I called many auto repair shops and pleaded my case. With 1 car already down and borrowing my fathers car, which was with me at the station, we were desperate for help. Every shop was at least 2 weeks out and couldnt, wouldnt help. I called Egan, they were also 2 weeks out but told us to get our car to them and theyd do what they could. Called a tow truck and towed our car to Egan. They had my car fixed and on the road within a few hours and cheaper than they quoted!I felt so helpless and desperate as I was at the fire station and couldnt leave, but Egan Automotive came to my rescue!!!Thank you so much!!HEROS DONT ALWAYS WEAR CAPES. SOMETIMES THEY CARRY A WRENCH!
Got it done promptly and on budget. Thanks for all your help!
Our experience here was okay. My girlfriend and I had a 3 day trip ahead of us so we came here to get our car checked out before we left, like checking fluids, oil, and tire pressure. They informed us we needed an oil change and a belt replaced, so we had that done. A couple days later, we ended up having a really loud, ugly noise coming from the engine compartment. By the time we realized this, it was the weekend and they were closed. We ended up having to take the car to a different mechanic that was luckily open on weekends (All Repair Auto Care). This new mechanic told us that the noise came from a heat plate that Egan Automotive installed incorrectly, which was really unfortunate because otherwise, this place was okay.
Troy was super helpful and wow, he explained why services were needed, how I could do it myself if I wanted, recommendations and much more. Other automotive facilities havent done that for me. The multipoint inspection I got as well had detailed pictures of everything and how series everything was and what theyd suggest to be serviced. Definitely coming back
Great customer service. Very thorough analysis and repair of vehicle. Very good communication during process. Thank you Egan Automotive.
These guys are way over priced, they gave me a list of repairs that my car needed, and wanted to charge over $3k I thought to myself there is no way my car needs all these recommended repairs. So I wanted to get a second opinion and went to a different shop they did go over some of the recommended repairs and showed me what was needed plus the prices were a lot better and most of the repairs from the list that I had received originally were just not needed always get a second opinion question their pricing on everything.
Very friendly and knowledgeable. Amazing time frame too! I drove over 30 minutes and it was worth the drive. The shop local to me was a week out just to look at my car. Eagan had it done in one day. I also really liked that they werent trying to push me to fix everything my car needed. It was more of a heads up, this will need to be done soon, which I really appreciate. I think the price was really fair too.
They take care of all our vehicles and support the local community, like school teams and good causes
I always take my car here and they are always friendly and explain anything about my car that I ask about. Reasonably priced but you still have to ensure the bill is correct. I wasnt thrilled with the gal who called about the results of checking the check engine light; but they now send your report directly to your phone so I was able to read for myself what the car needed. Have to make an appt and sometimes that can be challenging, but thats life these days. Overall, I trust these guys and have been pleased with their work. I hope that never changes.
I take all my vehicles and UTV to Egan Automotive. They do great work and staff are extremely friendly. It can be hard find a trustworthy mechanic, I will never take my vehicles anywhere else!
I have an 01 Seadoo boat and was told by every boat shop I called that they dont work on these anymore. Egan Automotive was happy to help and got everything running good and for a decent price.
Called with a need to drill out some snapped bolts and reattach engine splash guard. Got me in within a couple hours and done in an hour. Willingness to work me in greatly appreciated.
This is the best place around for car repair needs. Troy usually helps me at the front desk, and Robert is my mechanic here. These guys are honest and do great work. I have never felt like they were trying to rip me off, or sell me something I didn’t need. While not being pushy they do give me reports on my vehicles condition and what could use some work. This is nice because it allows me to budget properly to pay for my needed repairs. I plan to keep coming here, and will recommend to all my friends and family.
The job they did for us was done on time.
Great shop, great employees and great service. Robert was especially awesome and really seems to know his stuff. Thanks guys!
Shane, Donna & staff always deliver as promised. Easy to work with and very good about explaining things so that I understand.
I own a shop in utah County. I stopped in to check on something for a friend was blown away by the service writer! Top nich guy!
Had our annual emissions certification, tabs and registration done at one place, one time. They took care of a mix up in appointment time, and I was done in less than 30 mins. Very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
This was my first experience with Egan above and beyond the normal oil changes that I’ve had them do. I enjoyed working with their team and I will definitely bring my car back to them.
Egan helped me out when trying to purchase a vehicle when I was out of state debating on purchasing sight unseen. They were able to help me figure out what I was facing, and were very friendly with me. Honest and stand up guys.
Have been here a few times. The time to complete work is fast. They provide a digital inspection with pictures and recommendations which is nice. This place is very expensive! Almost on par with dealership prices. Be careful what you ask them to look at, you’ll get excessive diagnostic fees. I was charged $84 to look at a tail light that was out. They charge “shop supply” fees for towels, cleaners and other items like paper floor mats that they use during repair. That’s like if a restaurant charged you for napkins with your order. They didn’t reset the oil change light after an oil change, which I did reset myself, its just a small detail that shouldn’t be missed by professionals. The other repairs that were done seem to be done correctly, I haven’t had any issues with the work. They workers and receptionist are friendly. Due to the excessive prices here, I will be going somewhere else for all my repairs in the future.
Super friendly love these people. Great mechanics, honest, and care about their customers.
Quick emissions test and a fast response on what was happening with my ac system
Very friendly and knowledgeable service, takes time to explain ur questions.
Dave at the Main St location was great at helping fit in a pre-purchase inspection of a used vehicle I was interested in buying. They were thorough and gave a detailed report on the vehicle. Well worth the time and money!
Egan Automotive had all the right solutions to my problems. Had all the right parts and got me up and running fast.Very knowledgeable shop with some experienced technicians and well organized shop.
Paul is amazing and so helpful!
They did a great job installing a fifth wheel hitch for me and were even able to squeeze me in a day earlier than my appointment so I could get one more camping trip in for the season.
Excellent same day service with very high quality tires and wheel alignment. Very nice and professional staff. Offered ride home while my vehicle was in the shop. Delivered my vehicle home due to not having a way to pick up the vehicle prior to closing.
We love working with Egan Automotive! Theyre fairly priced, fast enough, and seem to care about us and our situation even though they are ALWAYS busy! Being busy is a testament to their great work! Glad to have found a great mechanic so close to us.
I’ve been disappointed the last couple times I’ve gone into Egan. I got a quote over the phone for services that was close to $3000 and when I asked for an itemized quote to do some price shopping they sent me one that came to $1800. In addition the last time I went in, they told me that my requested services would come to 600. When I asked them to drop one of the services, they realized there was an error in their system and it would actually come to closer to 400 to do the aforementioned work. I don’t want to have to double check prices to make sure I’m not being gouged every time I get my vehicle serviced. It makes me wonder if I’ve overpaid in the past without realizing it. I’d rather just go to a mechanic I can trust
We had two vehicles die or start leaking oil within a day or days of being serviced at Egan, after spending thousands on tune ups and repairs. The customer service was great and the people are very kind, but we will not be back. One vehicle and one incident might be a coincidence, but two? Im not insinuating anything intentional but somebody dropped the ball somewhere. To our family, its just not worth the very expensive risk to continue as patrons.
Excellent, professional, courteous work! They are consist time after time.
Timely, professional, friendly, and lots of other positive things.Special thanks to Sheldon Killpack, I know what you did!
Edit: Took another car in for repairs and it took 4 separate visits to get the repairs done right. And all but one of the times required them having my for multiple days (one was even over a week). I get that my repairs were extensive, but having to go in four times was not fun. Staff was always very kind and professional. Just wish I couldve had it done right the first time.Original review:First time working with Egan and I was very impressed. They were upfront about my vehicle issues and honest about needing a new transmission. They even came out to help push my vehicle after they were closed.
Daniel was so helpful in straightening things out for me with my car. I was trying to decide whether or not it was worth it to put the repairs in or get a new one and he help me make that decision. He made things workable and affordable. Thank you!
My alternator died on I 15 just outside SLC on a trip back to Oregon from southern Utah on a Friday afternoon. We were pretty well resigned to a couple extra days in SLC due to asking for such a repair on a Friday afternoon....Egans found the right part and got us back in the road for less than what they originally told us, within a couple hours. Everyone there was super cool especially the lady at the counter Steph, I think...i hope I got her name right! Could not have asked for more given the circumstances. And we got some tips on good places to vist next time we come back....great place, great people.
I called and made arrangements to have a replacement car battery in stock. The next day, I called it was there waiting on me. I was told to come down at my convenience, they would fit me in. I was out the door in record time, 15 min. That’s my kind of deal. The counter people are very courteous, always have been. A pleasure to work with.
I have to say that these guys were probably the most honest auto shop Ive been to yet. I brought my car in for an oil change but we quickly found out that the drain plug was rounded off, so they were going to need to order a new one because they didnt want to put that one back on. While they were under there I asked them if they could pinpoint where an oil leak was coming from and give me an estimate on that. Because we couldnt lower the drain plug, they lowered my car, gave me an estimate and let me get out the door without paying anything. Not only that but the realistic estimate I was able to get from them in regards to how much more stuff could be wrong besides what we already had going on allow me to make the proper assessment I needed to and just buy a new car. If I could leave a 10 star review for this company I would because they saved me several thousand dollars a little over a week ago and I cant tell them how much I appreciate that except for to leave them an awesome review for which they totally deserve. Who am I going to hire to do the fuel line on my performance diesel truck? Im hiring these guys for damn sure because I know theyre going to do a quality job, give us honest estimates and all this while I am chilling in the comfort of their cozy lounge. Im not sure if these guys are less or a little bit more compared to their competition in regards to price but I would be willing to pay the extra if it were more.🤯👍
I called last minute to get an inspection. They worked me in. Arranged a pick up after hours. I feel they went the extra mile. Thanks
I arrived for a scheduled emissions testing/registration and they promptly let me know that there would be a bit of a wait and that hopefully it would be done within an hour. This is fine of course after all things happen and Im a pretty understanding guy. He let me know that along with the emissions they would also do a safety inspection to make sure everything was good to go stating that it takes a bit longer they just want to make sure Im safe. I have a seat. A few minutes later a younger gentleman arrives in what seems like a bit of a hurry. He and one of the technicians start talking about what sounds like a conversation that has been somewhat ongoing so I dont think too much of it. I didnt however until they let him know that they wouldnt be able to do what he needed for a couple hours at the soonest. Him being bummed out I assume asked if they could move some appointments around to get him in. The gentleman looked through the schedule and again gave the news to the lad that a couple hours was truly the soonest. The kid has a seat but at a barstool near the front counter. He keeps standing up and sitting down and pacing all around acting all impatient despite being given a time frame. Not 5 minutes pass of this behavior when the guy caves at the counter and fits the seemingly hurried young man in right then and there. To which the kid gets a victory smile thanks him and leaves. Walks right out of the store. Mustve been in a real hurry 🙄. Next thing I know my car is done and ready to go, I wasnt even in the building for half of an hour. This would be great however it was quite clear no safety inspection was done and the emissions was rushed to just get me out of the way. Really disappointing to come here for quality service and pay for it, and to receive second rate service for the simple fact Im patient.
Great FAIR service. They did an alignment and thats all they did. Performed a free inspection to let me know what else wasnt right, but no pressure to fix or buy anything. Great place my new mechanic when I cant fix things myself.
Fast service! My dad took my truck in to get the emissions test done and they helped him right away and he was done within 30 or so minutes of our drop off time!
First time using Egan, as we just moved into the area. They were recommended by some locals. They were fast. Gave a solid quote. Willing to drop you back home or to work while they repair your vehicle. They explained the pricing clearly.
Quoted us 9k for a transmission and other necessary repairs. Got a second opinion, and there was nothing wrong with the transmission and it only cost me $900.
My mom took her PT cruiser here that she has had constant problems with. These guys went above and beyond and found the root of the cause that she had taken her car to two other shops to fix. After 12 months and too many extra dollars, her car is finally running properly!!! They have earned my business!
They fixed my motorcycle and did a great job.
Ive been taking my car to Egans for years and have always had great results, and because theyve been servicing my car the transmission lasted longer then most vehicles with my make and model. Most dont make 100,000 miles and mine made almost 150,000 I put my trust in Egan automotive and I know the owner expects the best from his employees and always backs up his work !
I went in thinking it was my alternator and explained the issue. Even though they thought it was the alternator also they checked everything and found it was a bad cable to the battery. It cost half what I was expecting and built my trust in them. Its nice to find an automotive shop with great integrity. Ill be back with any other car issues I have. Thanks
Great people. Very good customer handling. The mechanic knows what is going on to my car. It’s the best place.
Efficient, friendly and fast!
Really honest. Great auto shop
Conscientious, timely, affordable neighborhood auto care. Knowledgeable staff/technicians and quality work. Ive had nothing but positive experiences with Egan Automotive over several years, with several different vehicles. Theyve earned my trust. I feel confident that Ill be treated with honesty and respect, and Ill always be given a fair price for service.
This place is a rip-off and I will not take my cars here for service anymore, they did an oil change for $99 dollars which was kinda high but I agreed because it was synthetic oil....after the oil change the tried to sell me an air filter and cabin filter for $127 which I declined. I went to autozone and bought both filters for $33 and changed them both myself in 15 mins...when I went to do the cabin filter I noticed a bunch of leaves and dirt on my floor that was from the dirty cabin filter When they pulled It out to inspect it...complete laziness they can’t clean up there mess...i will not be returning to this shop anymore.
These guys are down to earth and know their stuff. The waiting area is pleasant and accommodating. Best automotive repair shop in town!
Alex really took care of us. My wife had just given birth earlier this weekend when the A/C in her care went out. I called Egan and Alex ensured that the A/C would be fixed and the car would be done same-day. I will go back to Egan for the rest of our car maintenance needs.
Great place. Helpful friendly staff.
They put on new brake pads as well as new rotors I asked for OEM parts not aftermarket but they put on aftermarket and I had problems with the brakes. I took my car back and they fixed it when I talked to a different manager.
We had a diagnostic test done. I initially talked to a mechanic named Paul who was incredibly nice and explained everything he could do for my car.
Always a great experience .... we’ve been taking our cars to Egan for many years. Always fair pricing and I can tell they really care about their customers. Ryan is great to work with...and Abdel does great work!
Shane and his team have been servicing my vehicles for over 10 years and they have always done a really good job. But, due to a very unfortunate problem recently, I want to warn customers publicly about my experience. There are two sides to every story and Egan Automotive has the right to their side of this story too. But from my side of the story, I feel like I got the very short end of a very expensive stick.I brought my vehicle in to the shop back in February of 2020 for an oil change and a diagnostic since my engine light had turned on. They checked out the car and let me know what issues existed with the vehicle, found during the diagnostic check.Due to the cumulative cost for the repairs that were needed, I clarified to their office guy that I needed to hold off on everything but the oil change. He clarified that they would get it done and let me know when it was ready for pickup.I went and picked up my vehicle and this is where I have some regret. Due to my positive history with Egan, I suppose I became complacent with my trust with them. I didnt check my invoice for the work done or notice the sticker on my windshield hadnt been changed. I felt safe that the car was ready to go. This was the mistake that I made.My gripe is with the fact that Shane is unwilling to fess up to his shop error. I did have a conversation with their front office guy about the work I needed done, only to have him dismiss it later when talking with him about it.Due to this error, my cars engine is now burned out. Timing chain is destroyed and Im looking at a $5000.00 repair bill.Shanes price is apparently at cost but after getting a second opinion from an unaffiliated mechanic that I havent used before this incident, received a lower bid to do the same work. He has no skin in the game, yet, gave me a lower bid to fix an engine he wasnt responsible for destroying, while the shop that is responsible tells me that they are giving me a deal. This infuriates me. I really have liked Shane and his crew up to this point. But, BOOM, one problem and he doesnt want to do what is right and fix the problem that his guys caused. Two other points. When I went in to check the status of the car after the tow, their other office guy brought me out to the car and showed me a couple of new solenoids and asked me where I had gotten them replaced. I told him they did them. I only bring my vehicles to Egan, which is 100% true. He said that they have no record of purchasing or installing those parts. I mentioned he probably needs to check with his mechanics because someone is not telling him the truth.Second infuriating point. When I was having the liability discussion with Shane, he told me that this was a pre-existing condition. I question that statement, because if its true, they failed to mention it on the diagnostic list that I mentioned earlier. So not only did their mechanic forget to put oil back in my car during the oil change, but they also installed some parts they are now telling me they didnt install. It seems like theyre trying to cover it up to me.Shane is a good guy. He has good mechanics working for him. But people make mistakes from time to time. That is what happened here. One of his guys admitted to me that they have had other incidents when their mechanics have forgotten oil or not reassembled everything after an oil change and someone elses engine has been destroyed because of it.That makes me wonder if other customers have been put in the same situation that I am in. If I want to drive my car again, it is my responsibility to pay for their mistake(s). Not fair! The fact Shane told me that he is trying to offer me a deal, at cost, for a new engine, only to then find comparable mechanics quoting me less, is very offensive to me. I had been a very loyal customer for over a decade. No other mechanic worked on one of my vehicles during that entire period of time. Looks like Im the idiot here. Complacency happens on both ends of the dollar, I suppose.
I recently had some exhaust work done on my truck at Egan. The exhaust turned out fine but unfortunately one of my air fuel sensors was damaged. Likely from the battery not being disconnected as is the proper thing to do when welding on a vehicle as to not damage electronics. The other possibility is if the welder was not grounded properly. I know this because I have worked as a mechanic for several years. The reason I didnt do the exhaust myself is I dont have access to a welder or tube bender at the moment, and so had Egan do the exhaust work. Some background, my truck is a 2014 with only 51,000 miles on it and had never had a check engine light. The morning I took my truck in I had no check engine light, obviously. When my truck was brought out of the shop a few hours later the check engine light was on and the service writer was trying to clear the code, but to no avail. He suggested that I drive the truck and hopefully the check engine light would clear. As maybe some fumes from the welding got on the sensor and driving would burn them off. Me trying to be reasonable and give them the benefit of the doubt agreed and I went and drove my truck 40 miles on the interstate. The code still persisted, so I went to an auto parts store borrowed their code reader and cleared the code. Which came back immediately. At this point I returned to Egan and explained the situation and tried to give them the opportunity to make it right and replace the faulty sensor. I was told that a check engine light can come on at any time and that it is not their fault that mine happened to come on while in their shop.I am very disappointed that Egan was unwilling to take responsibility for their own mistakes or fix said mistakes.
We had a great experience at Egan. Their prices seem fair, the facility is clean, they give a complete breakdown of what needs repaired with prices and they try to get it done as quick as possible. Our story. We bought a used 05 Subaru Outback for our daughter from a guy who had a lot of engine repairs done at Egan and when the vehicle started leaking oil we called Egan and they were more than happy to re-check all there work they did on the car a couple years earlier. That was the first thing to impress us and the second was that after they called my daughter to give her the news they had no problem calling myself and my husband to explain it all over again of what should be fixed, what could wait, what we could expect to pay, and then gave us time to decide what we wanted to do. Thanks Egans for being honest and explaining the repairs and not taking advantage of some of us that arent very car repair savvy.
This shop used to be the best - quick diagnoses, problem-free fixes, great communication and reasonable prices. In the last year I had two issues - they forgot to do the oil change that I requested along with the other service, and recently they misdiagnosed an electrical issue that they would have realized if theyd done more than superficially look at it.I dont know if management changed but I think this last mistake is the one that will drive me to start looking elsewhere.
I will never go back. They kept my car much longer than I was told each time I took it there. They said that my car was a lost cause, then a friend suggested that I just change the fuel filter and POOF! problem solved. $15 fix done in about an hour in my garage. I would have thought that the pros would have better ways to diagnose the issue. I paid them over $50 just to look at it! What exactly did they look at?They also told me that they would have to take the engine apart to locate my oil leak and quoted me over $200; again I got a second opinion and it turns out that all was required was some new engine oil cooling lines. $25 and about 2 hours and I was able to do the repair with a screw driver and 3 wrenches. Not pleased AT ALL with this company. The people are kind and seem professional, but I dont like the service and professional advice I received.
I took my car to eagans in Layton. They were honest and helpful. They beat the other quote I got by $200. And they gave me a loaner car to 2 days for free. I highly recommend them to anyone whos looking for an honest mechanic.Daniel was a huge help and answered all my questions. Ill be coming back for years to come.
I had a Transfer Flow tank put into my truck. Shane and Wayne stayed late to make sure it got put in and finished so I could get my truck back.I’m very grateful for them and grateful for their willingness to put in the extra effort so I could have my truck back and get back on the road. Time is money!
Excellent customer service. Great about keeping you in the loop on status of your vehicle. 1st time quality of work.
My experience with Egan Automotive is off the charts OUTSTANDING! Shane has always been able to give me sound advice on what needs to be repaired on my car first and what maybe I could wait on for a few more months. Not all automotive repairs shops do this. Egan Automotive wants their clients to be a satisfied with the whole experience of coming to their shop. An A+ shop, automotive knowledgeable people working in the shop and courteous and respectful front desk employees who are respectful of everyones time and the stress automobile repairs can cause them.. I have recommended them to all my friends and business connections. They are my go-to business for automobile repairs and servicing.
Needed a vin verrification for an out of state vehicle. Stopped by as they were closing and they were still willing to help. Sent my wife in a few days later for state emission test/on the spot registration and she also had a positive experience. Will definitely use them for other car issues in the future.
Egan Auto was quick and provided a great mobile report along with a phone call to discuss the details. I was very pleased with the service I received.
Shane, Donna, and team are among the best in the Auto service industry. I work with a lot of repair shops along the Wasatch Front and only partner with the best shops to perform BlueStar inspections. I refer family and friends to Egan and trust them completely. They are honest, knowledgeable, dependable, reliable and fair! They are an asset to their community.
Egan Auto is a great shop. Ive always been treated very fair. Ive referred a number of family and friends to them and without exception, theyve always told me thanks for the hookup with a shop that has given them their honest options. Heres one example: I referred a good friend and Shane told him that even though the car was out of warranty there was a recall on a part and if he took it to the dealer he could get it done for free. He could have done the work and my friend would have not known. Theyre good guys.
Looked straight in the eye and lied to more then once. Why some people cant be honest and straight up … Greed!
The staff at Egan are great. Their prices are fair, the facility is clean, theyre careful to explain what theyre doing, and theyre quick. I appreciate that theyll tell you what could be fixed, and what should be fixed, and let you decide. If theres something they dont get quite right, theyll make it right. Thats been my experience, getting a 19-year-old pickup going after it had been sitting for a couple of years.Ive read a few reviews here that criticize Egan for not catching things, or blaming Egan because they had to bring their vehicles back again for follow-up repairs. To those people, I would recommend leasing their vehicles. Anyone whos owned a few older vehicles knows that as soon as you repair one thing under a hood where nothings been touched in ages, theres bound to be other things that will need fixing, too. A new part thats working correctly will change the dynamics of an old machine, and then some other worn-out part can get pushed over the brink. Things break. I like having an honest repair shop like Egan close by to help me out when they do.
I got new pads and rotors in June 2017. I took the car back in Dec. because the problems had returned, lots of noise and vibration. I was told that it was likely my tires, that the tech couldnt hear or feel anything abnormal. I insisted the problem could not have been my tires so they turned the rotors and cleaned things up. However, the problem returned after a few months. Im guessing the parts were not as premium as they claimed they were. Now Im going to take the car in again to get things fixed. However, I wont be going back to Egans. After several years with them, Im moving on. Ive noticed a drop in quality and an increase in prices over the past few years. There also seems to be a strong tendency to explain why my issues are not real or not their fault.
I called a few days in advance and when i showed up for my diagnosis it took almost 3 hours! Wanted my heater fixed and they diagnosed my gasket as being bad. Wanted thousands of dollars! Went to another shop down the road and they fixed all my problems in a day for a few hundred! Car works fine now! Not happy at all with the way i was tried to be taken advantage of!
The staff was friendly, but I took a vehicle in to see if they could find the source of an odor within our vehicle. They seemed extremely hesitant to even look into the problem. They spent a moment trying to see if the problem came from our cabin air filter, but after looking told me there wasnt one in our vehicle. Which after a minute of personal research I discovered was incorrect. I would be very hesitant to bring a vehicle here again.
Always feel confident in the repairs and maintenance done to our car, today was no exception
I have been using Egan Automotive for many years. They always do a great job at a very fair price. I recommend them to any one who is looking for quality service.
Worst communication. Was told several times I would get a call back and not once did I receive a return call. The last time Egan had my car for A/C repairs my car was used for personal trips to the bank. I found a receipt in my car. The last and final time I will ever use Egan for auto repair the recommended that I replace my computer, it not only did not fix the issue, in fact made the issue worse. They still took my money and sent me on my way. When I asked for a refund for the computer that put my car in worse condition, Egan stated that they were unable to refund the cost of the computer and couldn’t help me with my now worse off situation. Awful customer service. Even worse communication. Every single time I was given an expected finish date, it lapses over, WVERY TIME! I will never return for service to Egan and will recommend to everyone that I know to stay away as well.
Always reliable and reasonably priced. Best to make an appt bc they are very busy all the time.
Their staff are helpful and quick. Egan Automotive is the BEST for service on all your vehicles. Great customer service. Highly recommend.
Fred and Dave are honest repair guys and have worked on my vehicles for about 10 years. I highly recommend them !
Egan Auto is a wonderful auto repair shop! After trying multiple repair shops we have found them to be the best. They are professional, kind, well priced and do a wonderful job with the car. Thanks
Because we had a tough time schedule, Ryan squeezed us into their busy repair schedule. The report provided us was impressive and very helpful.
Honest, fair, professional. Ive always known what I needed walking in and they respect that, but Ive heard their front office staff take time to explain things to those who needed more understanding. Always impressed with the way this shop runs.
They were fast, open about costs, and offered services and recommendations based on situation. I will be using them for all of my car maintenance going forward.
I purchased a car that needed an immediate timing belt change. I live about 80 miles away from where I purchased the car, and so I was trying to find somewhere to take me in that same day that I bought the car. I called Egan Automotive because of all their great reviews, and the guy who owns the place told me if I needed service he would make sure someone could do it for me that same day. He was so kind and and helpful and willing even though I could tell they were busy. He didnt overprice the estimates like every other people I called, which was great because money was tight for me. I feel like because I was a young adult and a female so many other mechanics had over priced on the estimates because they felt I wouldnt know the difference, but I never once felt like that with Egan Auto. Everyone in his shop was helpful and kind and made it a wonderful experience. If I ever need anything fixed in my car I would be willing to drive the distance for their wonderful and honest service. Thanks Egan Automotive!
Very honest shop, never had any issues with them, and dont think I ever will. Ryan is very helpful.
Can i give less than 1 star? Ive lived in Kaysville since 2003. Every time i went in there was always more that they wanted to fix than what i took it in for. When they told me i needed a water pump for $700, i finally figured out they were lying and scamming me. I went to my new mechanic and they said it was fine. 7+ years later, never water pump problems. Very dishonest! I dont know why Im so bothered by dishonesty. i guess I should be used to it. As for the owner response, whats the point in contacting you? Its not that I wasnt satisfied, its that you claimed my car had a problem it absolutely never had. There is nothing you can say to that.
Theyre always really helpful, and I feel that I can trust them.
Egan does great work and is very accommodating for a busy schedule. They went above and beyond to get our vehicle serviced and back in a timely matter.
I have been using another shop for years but have moved far enough away from their location that I felt like I should find a shop that is closer. I took my vehicle in with three known issues for them to look at for me.I was told that I would receive a call to let me know what the repairs would cost. Nobody mentioned a diagnostic fee but I had seen on the website that they charge $49.When they called they let me know that the technician was having trouble diagnosing the problem and needed more time. They asked to keep it for the weekend. I agreed. There was still no mention of charges for diagnostic work. When they called again they began describing a whole slew of unexpected problems that raised flags in my admittedly non-mechanics mind. The bottom line is that they felt that in addition to what I had brought it in for the computer needed to be replaced. For around $2,000 some of the problems could be fixed but they could not assure me that changing the computer would solve all of the issues.I decided to not risk that kind of money on a company with which I have had no experience. When I picked up my keys they asked for over $300 in diagnostic fees. This was not acceptable as at no time during the process had anyone mentioned charges for diagnostics or asked for authorization for chargeable work. I told them that I would be willing to pay the $49 diagnostic fee that they have published. After some disagreement I was finally able to have them call a supervisor who readily agreed reduce the charges to $49. Despite getting authorization from a supervisor the person whom I was dealing with continued to add charges for work done.Back at my trusted shop I got one of the problems repaired for under $200 and we are keeping an eye on the intermittently sticking valve that causes the check engine light to come on. On my next oil change I will replace the oil drain plug to stop the oil leak. No diagnostic fee (as usual), no argument over pricing, no sign of computer related issues. It looks like Egan Automotive will not be my next auto shop.
