Fantastic! Went there twice In a row it was so good! Everything is super fresh and super good. Weve tried the quiche (I highly recommend The Farm one), macaroons, the passion fruit key lime pie and the malasadas! The hot ones are to die for and the stuffed ones are spectacular too!I dont think the coffee is anything special, but its decent.
Starting off my first morning in Maui good with some decadent malasadas!Personally Im not a big fan of donuts and stuff like that but I can make an exception for some malasadas, especially here on Maui. We got a whole handful of different malasadas stuffed with ube filling, chocolate, and coconut filling, then some classic plain malasadas, and even some with a little li hing on them.I dont have much to say about the malasadas but they were pretty decent. They were really soft and light on the sweetness which I love, and light texture wise. They were a bit denser and doughy than preferred but they were still really decent! The filling in the malasadas were super creamy, delicious, and luscious. My favorite filling was definetly the ube filling because of the beautiful purple color, plus the creaminess, lightnesss, and sweetness of the ube.Overall, pretty decent, and a really nice start to my vacation in Maui!
These malasadas are fresh, soft, warm, and 100% delicious! Come early because the best flavors and fillings run out fast. The cinnamon sugar, matcha, and ube malasadas are all great options! I recommend filling if they are available. Their quiches are also a great bite as well — I got the sweet onion quiche!Pair the malasadas with a Bee Nutz latte (iced or hot) and you’re all ready to go for the perfect breakfast!
Great service, great people and mostly great food! The winners for me were... vanilla cream malasadas, lemon bars, coconut cream/ pumpkin pies (and I’m not even a big coconut fan!), double chocolate chip walnut cookie, oatmeal peanut butter chocolate cookie, and the cookies and cream macaron. Cinnamon rolls were pretty good.Bottom line, it’s worth going. Quality ingredients and love put in their products. A few of the pies/tarts were a bit sweet for me, for instance the apple tart clearly had one kind of apple and one that had no tartness. Great crust though. Some will like that, I simply prefer a mix of tart and sweet. Same with the passion fruit tart. Enough great things to go around.
My mother in law very rarely likes anything, and she wanted to go back the same day for the mango cheesecake! We also got the croissants, quiches, and masaldas. Excellent!
The Spicy Musubi was the best. Also tried the Key lime it was amazing. Need to get there early to try other items next time. Got there about 11:30
This cafe is below average. The Masalada are cold. Do not come here to buy! It’s not the place for it. They Focus more on other bakery items.
This place is A-MAZ-ING! The malasadas are made to order and super tasty, totally worth the wait in line.If you prefer, order the day ahead in their website to avoid the lines.Note: dont be like the Karen who was there when we visited who tried to cut in line for goodies. Was very grateful for the staff who made the Karen go the back and wait like everybody else.Effing Karen. 🤣
Wonderful little place! Delicious food, very kind staff and fun area. Close enough to the beach that you could get a yummy treat and walk over. Cannot recommend enough!
Stood in line at 6am and got fresh and hot banana bread and scones. They had so many delicious things to chose from. We went at least 4 times in the week we spent at Sugar Beach. Everything was so good I went there the morning of the day I went home and picked up some goodies for the flight home!
They have a great product if you can ever order ahead of time. Their lines are long and the place is small. I don’t have time to stand 15-20 minutes in line. They advertise take out but when you call no one picks up the phone. Once I tried calling 6-7 times and no one answered the phone. I’ve tried to order several times by phone and the same result nadah!I stopped recommending them because of the poor service.
Fresh Hot Malasadas! Delicious. Very helpful and friendly staff. We will definitely be back.
Really great bakery items! Go before 10am for the malasadas though. They make them to order until then and they are hot and soooo yummy!! The scones are really good also
Great place for coffee and sweets :) sweets are tasty and awesome. Good variety, also offers breakfast sandwiches. You can pre-order awesome looking cakes but two weeks in advance. Place is a fairly small. Seating is in the front of the store. There a bunch of chickens/roosters walking around. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating .
We were on the hunt for Banana Bread as we made our way back to the airport. Google guided us here, and it was delicious! We took the bread home and ate it two days later. It was still amazing! We also tried a Portuguese donut with cinnamon and sugar. They serve them made to order, so it came out hot and delicious. As most of the island has chickens, so did they. They were beautiful and walking through the tables.
The key lime pie is delicious. And the malasadas were fluffy and the filling was smooth and flavorful.
Excellent bakery. Their donuts are great but their macarons are excellent as well. The lady who works there is super nice. It looks like they put effort into their goods. Their musubi was also good. I would stop by, especially if you are in a group and waiting in line at the shaved ice place next doors.
Delicious fresh Malasada made to order, get them early as they tend to sell out in the mornings. Order of Coco Joe specialty coffee drink makes a perfect pairing.
Best malasadas around! My girls like the vanilla cream filled and I go for the passion fruit cream filled, mmmmmm!! Usually I drink black coffee or with a little sugar, but I like to get a fancier, tasty coffee at Sugar Beach Bake Shop, white chocolate mocha is my go-to.Atmosphere is very aloha and the crew are always very nice and personable. They have other yummy treats too, try them all!!
What a great place! Everything we had was great and the team working there are WONDERFUL!
Everything is delicious here. Planning ahead is key though, unless you dont mind waiting a significant amount of time. Either arrive right at opening or in the afternoon, otherwise youll end up in an extremely long line that moves very, very slowly.
First time taste of Malasadas ... will remember it for ever ... Vanilla and coconut were out of this world
Review is based on limited experience. I was there for coffee and malasadas based on the high reviews. Not going back for either. If youre looking for simple brewed coffee, try the abc store next door instead.
YUMMMMM!!! We had malasadas (plain and filled), cinnamon roll, and macarons. YOU MUST TRY THEM ALL!!
Holy moses, my favourite spot on the island. The malasadas are to die for, hot with cinnamon and sugar. Definitely a must visit!
Decadent coffee and delicious baked goods/malasadas!
So delicious - try the odd flavors - they may surprise you. My favorite was the plum!
I had the most uniquely delicious kimchi and portuguese sausage quiche here today. I love the coming together of korean, portuguese and french cultures in one devine dish! Not to mention the absolutely welcoming atmosphere the women working in the shop were able to create in such a small space. True Aloha spirit. Definitely coming back!!
One word: malasadas!! Hot. Fresh. Delicious!!Go early, they run out every day. Oh, and when you see the line, Stay. Its worth it!Also friendly customer service.
(+) filled malasadas. The flavors of the day were cookies & cream and vanilla. Kinda wish they had a tropical fruit flavor in there, but they were both delicious none the less.( ) regular, hot sugar malasada. Honestly just okay.(+) Picnic table seating outside.More to come when we try the pies and banana bread we bought as well!
Smaller than I expected but at a great location next to a large beach, farmers market and shaved ice. The baked goods were great and the spam misubi was fresh and hot
I loved this little gem of a cafe/bakery! My 5 stars is strictly based on the bakery/ pastry menu - didnt try the coffee. Walked over there with my little bro and we picked a variety of items: fresh made malasadas, coconut & lilikoy pies, and a cinnamon role. Everything, fantastic. Cinnamon role- one of the best youll taste. Prices are reasonable for a little bakeshop at a tropical tourist destination. Staff was also very friendly and full of smiles. Great way to start the day early with a little sweet treat, highly recommend. Aloha!
Worth the wait! Make sure to preorder ahead of time
Enjoyed their malasadas almost every day on our trip. They get very busy by 8AM so if you can swing by before then youll get your pick of the menu. Order online for a quicker pickup and for the envious looks from the casuals waiting in line!
Best malasadas on the island but get there early as they sell out by 10am
Showed up just after 6am: CLOSED. Someone standing outside told me they recently started closing on Sundays. No indication on front door hours. While standing there several people walked up and drove by to see it closed. AND WHAT’S BS IS GOOGLE SAYS IT’S OPEN RIGHT NOW AND INDICATES THAT IT’S ‘BUSY’. ZERO STARS for waking up early and driving over there. 🖕🏼
Awesome baked goods. Particularly the malasadas!! We love the sugar/ cinnamon ones. Our kids would tell you that a trip to Hawaii is not complete without a good hot malasada. O course Leonard’s in Oahu is the Gold Standard. I’d say these are right there kinda good! Maui is better because o the Sugar Beach Bake Shop. 👊🏼🌺
The bestttttttttt bake shop with any sorts of delicious bake could you could think of, they had! This is the perfect spot before you head off to road to hana or just a nice day at the beach! It really fulfilled my sweet dreams! You have to get the #malasadas its amazing! Also the mango coconut bread ! Wowwwww
Delicious pastries but very slow even at 6:30 AM. Be prepared for a wait.
They were out of some of the popular items by 7:30 am..spinach and feta croissant seemed mostly spinach with very little feta..ham and cheese croissants was ok
Excellent baked goods but at tourist prices. That said, their products are very high quality. Sometimes theres a line especially with only 2 customers permitted in the very small shop at a time.
Great little shop and really nice people. Take advantage of this super cool local business
Perfect place for morning breakfast and treats. I woke up very early to get here in time to order their fresh hot masaladas before they sold out. That plus macnut cinnamon buns, cream filled masaladas and all 3 types of Quiches. They were absolutely amazing. Im in line now again for the second morning in a row. Take the time and stand in line you wont regret it. Plus afterwards is a huge fresh outdoor fruit market, perfect breakfast stop.
Oh man, such a great little bakery but it takes a few minutes to buy stuff so be patient. Their topped banana bread is some of the best on the island!
Best coffee in Maui! I recommend the char-lotte with an extra shot of espresso! :)
I have an addiction to anything that comes out of here. The malasadas are always a day saver. Their peanut butter pie was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had!
Neighborhood staple serving up great cups of Jo, delightful breakfast treats and some desert pies to take home and save for later. The friendly vibes here will leave you with a smile, ready to start your day!
Its okay the brownies were somewhat good the pie was ok I wouldnt order it again.I recommend you try something else cuz I would not go back here again.Had a fly in the case eating the muffins.very expensive for everything they have there and not worth it.Teds bakery pies are way better! The pies didnt seem fresh to me.The banana bread was delicious
Masalas made to order are my favorite. Its hard to resist not stopping at this bakery every time I drive past it.
Best Iced Coffee, spinach feta crossaint is amazing, and awesome pies!!! And Sue is Great too!
Coconut cream pie was delicious! Still have the chocolate ganache banana creme to indulge in later. Really nice person at the counter (maybe the owner?). Lots to choose from and it was hard to select only 2 pies.
Get there early to enjoy fresh passionfruit malasada!
We only tried the petite mango bread here.1) We were originally planning on picking up the Malasadas before our flight. Turns out the Malasadas and the petite banana breads are the most sought after and they run out by 10/10.30am. so if youre after those, reach early.2) Petite is a tinier loaf. They have both petite versions of banana bread and mango bread. The length is about 4 to 5 inches.3) They also had spam musubi but were down to the last two. We reached around 12.30pm
Such a cute little place. Have great baked goods and even a couple of gluten free options! Been stopping by for 25 years and have never been disappointed.
Very good and fresh
Great place to get some delicious pastries
Super friendly service and delicious pastries and pies!
Very good baked goods
Hot fresh melt in your mouth malasadas!
Amazing pastries/desserts and friendly staff!
Love sugar beach bake shop so many different goodies
There was a lady washing dishes, but no body took my order. Several people including me had to leave without any ordering.
The malasadas were quite nice!
A tiny little shop tucked between a shave ice place and an excellent farmers market. The pineapple glazed scone I got was transcendent. I cant think of a much better day than taking a long walk on the beach, grabbing a sweet here, then picking up fresh fruit next door. A lil slice of paradise in paradise
Nice easy place to stop for a quick coffee and malasadas or other treats. Be sure to check hours to get what you want.
Ladies at the front were a bit rude it was very awkward. Overall the fresh hot malasadas were “meh”, the stuffed malasadas come out room temp with a bit of custard it was ery underwhelming.I was craving haupia purple potato pie and although it sorta did the trick, I wouldn’t recommend it and I’ve had better on the island. The location is cute, lots of parking and easy to find.
Delicious malasadas.
Great little bakery and malasadas made to order.
Wow, MALASSADAS, the best.from 6 to 10 am.
Amazing Malasadas!
Long ordering line prevented us from eating here.
I got a big piece of carrot cake
Big line up at times. We go before 9am for coffee and a muffin as the official start of the day and there is maybe 5 people ahead of us. But later it gets very busy. Shaved ice and ABC store next door. Great beach walk across the street. Sometimes I swim back to our condo!
The cold brew coffee was the best I’ve ever had. We got there around 12 pm so there weren’t any fresh malasadas left, but there were some filled ones which were outstanding. Also, proximity to the beach and excellent views were unbeatable.
Very friendly staff, great place for some pies and light meal items. We had their malasadas. I preferred the ones without fillings which are available fresh between 6am and 10am. Their sweet onion quiche is also amazing. Will come back and try their pies for sure. Also, their espresso is quite good as well.
Great croissants (my ham and cheese was outstanding) and sticky bun was perfect combination of texture and ingredients. Looking forward to key lime pie and coconut cream pie later. Good coffee. Lots of locals here on outer edge of Kihei.
