I was looking for a quality shop to do some work on my Maserati and couldnt find one anywhere who could do the work other than the Maserati dealership itself. The Maserati dealership was basically trying to rip me off big time and I didnt want to submit to them. I called shop after shop and couldnt find anyone who would take the job until I contacted EDI Auto Repair. The owner and his wife was very polite to me and gave me a honest opinion and solution to my problem. They did a wonderful job on my car and did it at a wonderful price, Im very happy with the quality of work they provided. I already take my truck to them after they fixed my car and they also did a wonderful job on that too. Great down to earth people that will treat u right and get your car back on the road for sure. I recommend them to anyone.

I took my car in for oil change. The technician broke my new oil cover, they replaced it but charge me $60 for it. I was very disappointed because my cover was new. They broke but then charge me for replacing their wrong doing.Ill never take my car there because if you can not own up to small Mistakes like oil tank cap, what will Happen if you broke a bigger thing in my car.☹☹☹

Im very happy and impressed, I had gotten an oil change on my 2019 jaguar, and I pick it up drove it home and left it overnight, in the morning the car wouldnt turn over, so I called just to ask how was the battery, and explained my situation. Came in for a diagnostic and walked out 30 mins later with the problem solved. Incredible deal. Very transparent and friendly.Firestone in Crystal Lake on route broke my TPMS sensor, had to install a new one, and could not program it. This shop fixed it in minutes. Again, problem solved for under $40.

I took my Volkswagen Passat diesel to E.D.I twice. They do excellent work, and kept me informed every step of the way. They explained the diagnostic and repair process. The cost for my repair was less than other shops in the area, and was the reason I took my car to them, but their customer service and the quality of their work is the reason I’ll be taking my car to them in the future.

My Car broke down and towing company recommended this repair shop. I am glad they did. They were very nice and affordable. I highly recommend this repair shop.

My Explorer has some unknown rattling going on in the wheels. Took it to EDI like I did with my Xterra, and a couple of days later my truck was feeling lighter than when I brought it in. Compared to my last mechanic, I will only take my trucks to these guys.

I recently moved to the area and was referred to EDI by my mechanic back home. I was disappointed when the local dealer charged me a diagnostic fee and then recommended that I replace my entire exhaust system. I went to EDI for a second opinion and within a few hours Pat diagnosed the much smaller more specific problem, completed the repair and had me back on the road saving me thousands of dollars as opposed to the just replace everything approach from the dealer. I plan to take all of my cars to EDI in the future.

This is a top tier repair shop. When I drive off after EDI repaired or serviced my car I do it fully knowing that it is in perfect condition. The service, the knowledge, the professionalism, and the honesty of the owners and mechanics makes this shop a great find and as rare as a snowfall in July.

Had a great experience with these guys. I had just finished moving to the area and needed an oil change so I decided to give them a try. I also had a ABS light on they diagnosed it for me and set me up with an appointment to come back and have it looked at closer. When I returned a week later the light was off so they diagnosed again and it turns out the sensor did not need to be replaced they were very honest by letting me know that the repair was not needed at this time. I will be returning to them for all my repair needs in the future thanks guys

Great customer service! I found a new place to take my car.Went to Merlins and they gave me the run around, but when I took my car into Marco, not only did they diagnose my car for free, and fix what Merlins did wrong for free, but they only charged half of what Merlins would charge me to get my car fixed.I would HIGHLY recommend going to Marco, no matter what you need done with your car. They offer great customer service, great prices and a comfortable waiting room.

Marty from EDI called me on the phone and told me they double check the engine light and even had taken it upon themselves to run it through the emissions facility.. just to make sure nothing went wrong ... I also asked them about my shocks and he told me they were good .. honest place ..no upcharge trying to sell you kinda place ... i am a customer for life!

My name is Vince and I have lived in Lake in the Hills for over 20 years. In life you need to have a good plumber, good electrician and a good mechanic. EDI Auto Repair, is honest, ethical and will be truthful and show you what needs to be done on your vehicle. I brought my daughters car in for an ignition problem and they had the car for two days and was not going to charge me until they found the problem, now that is honest. I do my own brakes on my car and I did not have time to fix my issue and they showed me what I had done wrong with my brakes and why my car was shaking. He repaired the brakes and was very fair about the costs. Here is the MOST IMPORTANT PART, I had brakes pads that had a warranty, he called the place I bought the brake pads from got the new brake pads for FREE then he gives me $17.35 back for the difference on the brake pads because the warranty ones actually came to be less in cost. Now WHO DOES THAT??? Someone who is honest, ethical and wants to earn your business for LIFE. Please bring your business to these nice people, they care and will do the right thing.If you dont believe this story I will be glad to respond but all I have to say is WOW!!!

I cant say enough great things about the folks at EDI Auto Repair.I have been in to see Pat and his staff 3 times now for my 2007 C230 and every time I have left feeling like they treated me like family. And today I left the shop feeling like Pat and his team are an absolute gift.I was told by my dealer that I would need to dish out $1400.00 for a replace/repair part. I took my car to EDI and was told that right now, there is no need to replace that part. Any other repair shop would have kept their mouth closed and took my $1400.00. Not Pat! He told me that he would not be able to sleep at night knowing he sold me something I didnt really need.Who does that in todays world of take take take?So to wrap this up, if you need anything done to your car please consider taking it to EDI auto repair in Lake in the Hills and they will treat YOU like family.Thanks to Pat, Tyler, John & Wendy. :-)

These reviews are mostly from when this place was Marco Automotive which was bought by EDI in Summer of 2014... My only experience with EDI was them not giving me a quote for a simple job that had already been diagnosed by the dealer over the phone. At that point I gave up on this place.My original review(5 stars) for Marco was this:Got my exhaust repaired here. Merlin wanted to charge me $600 for an entire system replacement. These guys told me that wasnt necessary and got me repaired in an hour for $80. Highly recommended.

EDI fixed an oil leak and a misfire on my car. They gave me a ride home as a courtesy and had my car back to me the same day. The price was good and Pat and the rest of the employees were very honest. They were able to find the cause of the misfire in only a half hour and showed a good deal of experience in resolving the problem.

I wish I could add more stars. 5 is just not enough for these folks! I blew a tire right in front of their shop on my way home having just had some really involved oral surgery just an hour earlier. I was in a lot of pain and they came out to where I broke down and they changed my tire for me and brought me back to their shop to inflate the spare sufficiently. Pat and his wife could not have been more helpful and to top it off, they would not accept any payment. They figured I had a bad enough day and just wanted to help...who does that any more? If you live in the area, these folks should be your mechanics. Just really good people! Ill be sure to pay it forward.

I went in looking for a piece of tube to get fixed. The job didnt look fairly difficult. It was a tube that needed to be placed back into place. A small piece was needed i order to complete the task. They spend 1 whole day to fix a tube for a 15 minute job. I am dissatisfied with their service because not only did they wasted my time but my money. In addition my anti freeze was completely empty.

Not sure of the knowledge the mechanics here but definitely careless and a rip off. Quoted an outrageous price for an alternator. It’s no wonder there were no customers here thats also probably the reason for the high quote.

Took my car in to get my coolant system checked. Ended up paying $50 to have the service done after negotiating down from $100 (because I felt that was really high). Had a friend call a couple days later and asked how much a pressure test was and the Shop Manager, John, said they were Free. I called back and asked for my money back and they refused. I do not recommend this business unless you like getting ripped off by dishonest people.

$1200 for a used trans and 1 year later starts leaking trans fluid. I take it to another shop, and since you have to take off the exhaust manifold they notice that the gasket was never replaced. They glued it. Its no wonder I smelled exhaust in the car when I used the vented air. Never again.

No one should ever take the car there I took my car there for a bad trans control computer they put the wrong one in they fried my transmission back surged Fred my ABS sensor in the main computer do not go there they are going to be seeing me in court I am suing

I lost a working day to bring my car to them for an alignment and on the end they didn’t do it but was trying to tell me that they worked on my car 5 hours.
