The bookstore is great, with a Starbucks inside! The NMSU Parking Department is on the second floor and the new manager is very nice and fair, so is the lady at the window.

Save yourself some time and pain by simply ordering your books elsewhere. If you continue to scroll through the reviews, you will see that the NMSU bookstore has been sub-par at best over the last few years. This is still true in August 2020. I bought my books last week and I have still not yet received a pickup time to get my books. Fortunately, the professor moved back the due date for our first assignment to accommodate the bookstore. If not for my professor, I would have been unable to complete my first assignment and would have lost points at no fault of my own. I never had any issues like this at my undergraduate school, so I know that these services can be provided well - the NMSU bookstore simply does not.

B&N closed. It is chaos most likely due to covid. But the customer service was pretty good for being that it was a skeleton crew the day before school starts.

The GM does not respond to emails if you are having an issue with textbook rentals. I was unable to return my textbook since the Barnes and Noble was closed due to Covid-19 guidelines. I emailed the GM asking if I could still go in person to return it, as my book was still in perfect condition. He replied on June 6th with an email giving instructions on how to mail back the textbook. The last day to have it postmarked was on June 7th, a Sunday, when the post office was CLOSED. Because I did not meet the deadline I was only given one day’s notice about, I was unable to return my textbook in time. I was charged $315 for a book I rented for only $99. The craziest part about this situation is that they charged me this very high replacement fee when they are literally CLOSING THEIR STORE PERMANENTLY. Why did I get charged a replacement fee when they’re no longer going to need the book anyways? I don’t know since they don’t return my calls or emails. I know many other students who are encountering the same issue too! Very poor service and management.

The textbook for a class is not listed and therefore cant use website. When you call the store they will redirect you to the website. When you reach a person, they tell you that the book is not listed, and you should email the bookstore so they can research it because they do not have the information on the book. You tell them that you have the information on the book and they want you to email them the information. They will then research it and see what they can do. All I wanted is for them to tell me if they had the book (I have the information on the book) but they wanted to know why professor did not list it instead. Poor customer service; I can now see why everyone buys online instead of this bookstore.

All the newest! NMSU gear you need to show off that Aggie Pride. Helpful and friendly customer service from a college aged staff makes a college student like myself feel right at home while drinking my favorite Starbucks coffee and finding all the course required textbooks and material I need to ace my classes this semester. The service at this location is horrible,I decided to order my books online to have ready for pick up and that was about 5 days ago I called on Monday and the girl stated that it wasnt ready and it havent been processed yet. She said to give it another day so I did and the only reason why I need my books is because I already had assignments due this week. I called today and the girl Samantha on the phone was rude and needs to work on her customer service skills i hope she is not management. She stated that my order still wasnt ready and that the team had a pallet of orders and I told her I couldnt wait another day I got upset so I decided to drive to barnes and noble I went to the pick up station the guy there didnt have no clue what was going on and he couldnt find my order. I just canceled and bought the books there. I do live an hour away from NMSU but next time i will just be ordering on amazon because at-least i know when my orders are being processed and dont have to deal with rude people at this location.NMSU STUDENTS BEWARE AMAZON & CHEGG ARE THE WAY TO GO!!

Really bad experience. Ordered books online, recieved no email confirmation that the books were ready to pick up. Telephoned and was told they would be ready at a certain time/date. On arrival, was told the order had not been processed yet and could be another 1-2 days. I tried to physically shop for the books myself to save time. The rentals advertised online not available, on back order. Could take 1-2 WEEKS to get the books in. Just because they say they have something available online DOES NOT mean they have it in store. Also, the price will go up if they have to rent you a new book. Totally dissappointed at BNNMSU. SHOP AMAZON textbook rentals, the books they advertise are actually available and can be shipped to your door in 2 days with free return shipping. With no price changes!

During add/drop period they close at 5pm on a Saturday and are only open 12pm-4pm on a Sunday. Many students have busy or irregular schedules. The only reason a person would buy books at their prices is because theyre willing to pay a premium for convenience. It is irresponsible of the university to contract to this corporation which feels no obligation to balance profits with serving the community.

Fairly stocked with snacks and class books. Only down side is one transaction can be done at a time. And if the person in front of you forgets their wallet then the bookstore attendees make you wait. Not really worth going to unless you absolutely have to.

This is specifically for the NMSU Bookstore. Not only are they massively overcharging for my books this semester ($700+ for ONLY online access), but they also failed to order enough copies for the students attending the program. So I paid over $700 before classes started and I still dont have the required course materials for my classes going into the third week of classes. This is causing me to miss assignments, quizzes, and reading that are essential for learning and passing my classes. This is absolutely unacceptable, and B&N is not offering a discount or anything for this incredible inconvenience. I know that nothing will change because of the corporate greed that controls our education, but I sure wish the school would find a more reliable partner for their textbooks. Barnes & Noble should be ashamed of their horrific customer service.

The book selections are small. They cater more to NMSU memorabilia. The employees also seem grumpy whenever I go to pick up or drop off textbooks. At least they have started using competitive pricing rather than inflating their prices. Its also clean and the cafe is nice. I still go here for textbooks but if you want to do some real book shopping then go to either the Barnes & Noble in the mall or Coas Books.

Bookstore was a nice change from the old NMSU bookstore. Selection of Aggie gear was large, and the coffee/snack bar was a welcome sight. Prices rival other B&Ns for other books. All in all, a good place to get books and enjoy a coffee

Its definitely interesting when you need to pick up a textbook and the hours provided for when the store is open says until 8 pm, but they are still running on what seems to be Summer hours... During Fall semester. I also found it very unprofessional that I was called in class 3 consecutive times in regards to my textbook being ready.

I accidentally bought the wrong charger and when I tried to return it the same day I bought it, I was unable to because it was open. The policy says electronic devices can not be returned which I fail to see how this is an electronic device. It is for an electronic device but not the same thing. I will never go back for anything remotely related to electronics

Everything in store is overpriced, including the textbooks. If you want school merchandise just go to Walmart or Target and pay half the price. Wait times for red-tag books are also ridiculous when needed for class, especially given that this store is lucky enough to be allowed on the NMSU campus. The ONLY redeeming factor is the fact that they have a selection of used textbooks - sometimes. Not sure why NMSU hasnt opted for a better company to take over as the campus book store.
