I am always nervous when using a mechanic because I don’t know enough about cars and fear being taken advantage of. I suspected the battery was the issue and needed it fixed before I passed my inspection. I called on a Friday afternoon, was asked to bring my car in Monday morning. In a couple of hours they called to confirm it was the battery and that it would be done same day. By mid day I was able to pick up and go. I picked this place because of the reviews and they were spot on. I even ran it by my dad and his friends had good things to say. I will make sure I take all my business to them going forward.

I went to this shop for the first time when my car started acting up on Friday. I had suspicions of what I thought may be wrong and asked if these things could be checked. The person I spoke to was so nice and professional and I felt like he really was listening to me when I was explaining what was wrong. This is a rare experience for me as a female as I often seem to be dismissed by auto mechanics as not knowing anything. Anyway, he checked everything and gave his honest opinion of what I needed to get fixed right away and what things I should hold off fixing since it is such an old car that I plan to get rid of in the near future. Many mechanics would just have me fix all the things to get more money out of me, so I am beyond grateful for his honesty. I will definitely be continuing to use Gulf Coast Auto and Truck Repair for all future car maintenance and repairs.

Went to pep boys at first to get an alignment. They red flagged my rack and pinion for a leak. Now my Silverado is a 2013 with 98k miles on it. So I went to gulf coast to get a second opinion. There was no leak, at all. They did my alignment and topped off all my fluids and saved me a lot of money for a part that didn’t need replacing. Normal wear and tear. Randy came through and is very professional and considerate. Even offered to give me a ride home while my truck waits. Highly recommend these guys 100%. I will be doing business with them for the foreseeable future.

I had to get my car towed on a Saturday after hours and they got it in and fixed first thing Monday morning. They hadn’t ever seen me before, it was my first time there. They called me quickly after opening and looking at my car to let me know the problem and the cost. By the time I was off work that afternoon, they had it done and it’s running great now! I’ll definitely go back to them.

Got my truck in quick and serviced it how I asked. I knew what I had them replace my not be the solution to the problem, but it did partially fix it. The gentleman who helped me told me what they would suggest replacing next and apologized for not being able to find the parts locally before I left the area. Great stuff, great quick and fair priced service. I wish I could go back for them to service my truck further.

These guys are the best mechanics around. I trust them with all my vehicles. If they find out that something is covered by the original warranty, they let you know so you can take it to the dealership and save some money. Their honesty is much appreciated and makes customers for life.

I seldom write reviews, and nothing heroic or extraordinary occurred during my experience. However I have to comment on the absolutely competent, communicative, straightforward, honest methods these guys use in day-to-day business practice. My old diesel truck with 400,000+ miles was having some problems that could be tricky to figure out for any shop. They sorted out what was wrong, (an electrical short inside the valve covers, affecting the injector module ) quoted me a price, fixed it, along with taking care of a few other minor nuisances that would have caused me trouble down the road.I appreciated the text message progress updates and the truck was done when they said it would be done. I recommend them highly.

I have used these guys several times, they always do what it takes to get the job done and with great results. I have a older truck so theres times its tough getting parts or just the work is tougher and frustrating. Five star rating from me.

Car was shaking pretty badly while driving and we had gotten a couple different opinions we weren’t sure of. Took it to Gulf Coast Auto because we had heard they were trustworthy. Both axles needed replacing which they knew would be costly so they ordered some after market parts to see if they would fit and cost us less. Unfortunately ended up having to get parts from Mazda but their effort to save us money was appreciated. As soon as they got the parts the work was done same day and my teenager was back on the road. They communicated well by phone and by text every step of the way. Great experience!

We have used Gulf Coast Auto & Truck repair for AC repairs on two vehicles. We are pleased with the repairs and speed at which the shop gets their work done.

Dealer was professional, Randy and Frank were prompt to identify my sway bar issue (was quoted cv axle replacement at Honda of CL) and also replaced both wheel bearings. Not a cheap repair but would go back and do it again at this location if I had to. I’m and out in 2 days before the weekend.

I can not thank everybody that works at this shop enough. This is all because I ended up needed a new oil pan installed after running over some debris. This impact caused a slow leak around my oil drain plug I could not ignore on Sunday during the day.As my Aunt and uncle live right down the street and have used Gulf Coast Auto & Truck Repair for many years with great success, they offered to call up the owner Frank to see if his shop would replace the damaged pan and check over the car starting Monday. After talking back and forth he said that we were welcome to drop it off Sunday night via the after hours drop box they have and that they would take a look at it and replace anything that was broken/damaged for us.He also said that I could purchase the new pan, gasket and new oil from somewhere else like oreillys if I wanted to save money on parts. I would just need to pay the labor costs to have their techs install my supplied parts at the shop and any other services done.After bringing the car up there with the new parts Sunday night and dropping it off they delivered it back fixed with a very fast turn around of 2 days. I consider this extremely fast as I come to find out after asking some questions that they had to do a lot more work than simply unbolt the old pan and re-bolt the new pan back into place. They had to disassemble a bit of the underside of my car to get the oil pan out which is common on some models which takes time. You also have to factor in that they had other cars to work on before me that they needed to finish which also takes time depending on the repairs needed.Along with the pan replacement I had my suspension checked and an alignment done to make sure there was no further damage not detected by my eyes caused by hitting the debris. After getting a new pan installed and an alignment done my 2005 accord finally drives straighter down the road than ever before and has no leaks to be found.I could not be happier with the work done and I will continue to use Gulf Coast Auto for any other repairs that might arise and will recommend them to others for their repairs also.

Was having charging system issues after i replaced alternator . they told d me the alternator was bad and cluld put a $750 alternator on it for 12 hundred bucks. I said no way sk had a second opinion and was told problem solved. Was a loose connection on fuse box. Paid gulf coast $125 for an incorrect diagnosis. AVOID THIS SHOP LIKE THE PLAGUE UNLESS YOU HAVE UNLIMITED FUNDS!!!!

I sincerely wish I had come to these people first! Unfortunately, I went to my oil change people with an engine light problem. Almost $1000 later, they told me they were at a loss. My wife researched auto repair nearby and read the great reviews Gulf Coast had received so I went there. They discovered my problem and very honestly informed me of my options for a very reasonable amount of money. Mine was a older vehicle and fixing my immediate problem would only lead to future heavy repairs because of it’s age. In a long run, they probably saved me many thousands of dollars. My wife wanted me to get a new vehicle and Gulf Coast told me I should listen to my wife.... Ha! Like I said, I wish I had come to these people first.

Randy wandered the phone. He was to the point and was able to see me same day. I went to his shop when we discussed they were able to work on my truck right away. I was in for a a/c charge. They diagnosed that my evaporator most likely has a crack we could smell the Freon in the cab slightly. The mechanics including Randy were very helpful and professional. They know what their talking about. I will continue to come here whenever I have a problem I don’t want to tackle myself. Thanks again gulf coast.

PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! They worked on my 2010 Chevy Silverado they had replaced my oil pan gasket and installed a new one. They failed miserably doing it. They are so quick to do the job and get it done THE WRONG WAY. After a couple days noticing I was loosing oil pressure I crawled under my truck and noticed oil around the oil pan bolts and oil under the pan . and on other parts of the truck underneath. So I called them back and he had told me well the oil pan bolts could have backed off. And he said bring it back and I’ll put my eyes on it and see what’s going on. So I bring it back and he called me after a few hrs said he figured out what it is and installed another part that most likely did not need to be replaced. He told me drive it around for a week and see if it still leaks. So I just drive it for couple days and crawled under their and come to find out it is still leaking they did not fix the problem. So I took it to a dealership and the dealership told me the oil pan gasket is leaking and the front crankshaft is leaking. So now their fixing the oil pan gasket that these guys could not install correctly, and that have wasted my hard earned money and time. They might have good reviews for changing breaks and small things but if you have bigger issues you Better stay away from this mom and pop shop cause they are a joke and the guys working their probably came from a hamburger joint that think they know what their doing but trust me they don’t. I called the dude back from this shop and he had tried to blame the gasket I bought witch he is an idiot the gasket is a name brand gasket and he asked how do I know it was them that caused the leak 😂 well I mean they did install the oil pan and oil pan gasket. People I can’t say it enough. do not come here for bigger problems then break jobs these guys will lie and make their self sound professional and what they are not they are a flop and need to go back to flipping hamburgers. They charged me 1200 dollars for everything I got done their and Now it’s at the Chevy dealership

I know I’m probably paying a bit more than some places and it’s frustrating they are not open on Saturdays, but I wouldn’t trust anyone else in the area. These guys are the best. Period. Their work is honest, quick and they absolutely do what they say they will. Before I even walk in the door my chart is up and they are greeting me by name. Can’t go wrong here!

We have used Gulf Coast Auto & Truck Repair twice recently and have been very pleased with their work. Randy was very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. Its hard to compare prices, but I feel like we were charged a fair fee for the work they performed, something that I cant say about the place down the road that we had been using the way too long, a place that charged $118 to change an air filter that I had done myself before in under 5 minutes! We are glad we found GCATR and we definitely plan to keep using them.

It was my first time to use these guys and they did not disappoint. I dropped off my 2012 6.7L F-250 after hours for an oil leak. By 0930 the next morning I received a call from them giving me a full rundown of what they needed to do and they mentioned another small issue they had found.They were very knowledgeable, professional, timely, and they communicated with me throughout the process and that’s key to me. I can’t stand it when shops don’t do the most simple things- communicate.I’m picky about who works on my vehicles and I’ll definitely be going back to them.

I have used Gulf Coast Auto and Truck repair before and had great service. I went back with my Toyota Tundra and had them check my rear axle and brakes. They checked the axle, resealed it and reset it. They checked the brakes, cleaned and adjusted them. I was told the brakes were good and no need to replace the axle. I got great service and a great price. They never tried to over sell me on service I didnt need or try to RIP me off. I will be going back again! Great job.by Frank and the guys!

I have an older (2004 Chevy PU). Have used this garage 3 times. Twice for the check engine light (emissions) and once for my rear doors not locking. I have been well satisfied each time. The garage is neat and clean. The employees are courteous and helpful. The work was done at a reasonable price. Will go back if needed.

Been using these guys for over 10 years. They always shoot straight. Several times I’ve had the dealership or NTB etc tell me I needed a service, only to have these guys explain why it’s not needed. They’ve saved me literally thousands of dollars this way. And the times they have worked on my it’s always been quality work done the first time. As someone who isn’t a “car guy” it’s comforting to have a mechanic who I feel won’t take advantage of my lack of car savvy.

It seems simple right? You drop off your auto, a professional tells you what is wrong, what needs to be done, how much it will cost, and how long it will take. As simple as it sounds, its tough to find...unless you take your auto to Gulf Coast!I have used them for years to maintain 5 cars/trucks, and have always had an excellent experience. They have been done on time every time, and the price has never been more than they quoted. It has been less a few times, but never more. On top of that, I have never had to wash a greasy handprint or smudge off the interior, doors, or fenders! I deal with the same people each time I go in. Most people fail to understand why that is so important. Consistency in your staff translates to consistency in your business, and happy mechanics do a better job. If management treats their employees with the kind of respect that keeps them around, you can expect them to treat you with that same respect. It really is that simple.
