My father and I were up at high rock lake for a fishing trip for his birthday. We arrived late Thursday night and decided to try and get some night fishing in. We were out on the water for 15 minutes when we started hearing the warning sound from our motor. We immediately shut it down and noticed it wasnt spitting out any water. Luckily enough D & E marine came to the rescue. We called them the following morning and without hesitation they took us in and was able to get us up and running. Very awesome people ! Would highly recommend for all of your marine needs.

I have taken my boat here twice. First time boat was taking on water. I thought it might have been the bellows. Dave explained it was the throttle cable boot had a hole and he may have to replace the whole cable. I got a call a day later and he was able to replace just the boot tat the cable was ok making the repair even cheaper. Second time was just adding a 2nd battery, starter solenoid and a service. Both times they have been very honest and fixed the problems I have had the first time. This place is almost an hour from my house each way and I will continue making that drive. I recommend them to anyone that is looking for a good place to take their boat.

I have taken my boat to David for 4 or 5 things over the last several years and they always provide exceptional service. He is honest and trustworthy as I have had him tell me things were not necessary that he could have made money on. Top notch people that will continue to get my business!!

At the recommendation of a fishing buddy, I took my 225 hp Outboard to D&E for a power head replacement. They told me my only cost would be a $25 deductible, the rest would be covered under the manufacture warranty.. When they called to inform me the work had been completed, they informed me they had replaced some additional parts, which we had not discussed, and I now owed them $183. The parts in question were replaced less than three months prior and were in good working order. I told them to put the original parts back on the engine and bill me $25 as we had agreed. He finally agreed to not charge me for the unauthorized part replacement, but it was a very uncomfortable conversation. When I picked up my engine, he did not give me any information on how to break in my new power head and told me not to come back to his dealership. To provide full disclosure, as of this post, the engine is running great. However, my experience with D&E Marine was not a good one.

Excellent work & honest people

Several years ago I bought an old boat (75 Glastron) cheap as a project boat. After a little work to get it lake-worthy, we took it around the lake. Hull was solid and the engine strong, but the outdrive had a little noise in it. A friend suggested D & E, so I took it there and explained the situation--this was a project boat and I didnt want to put a lot of money into repairs. I wanted to know what was wrong with the outdrive and what it would cost to fix it.A $100 diagnostic fee later (and lets stipulate that the outdrive was not pulled off the boat, I was told that they simply opened up some inspections ports (which it doesnt have) and looked inside, saw that all the gears were rusted and that the whole thing was shot. I needed to replace it. And they just happened to have a new outdrive that would work that they could put on for $1500.What a stroke of luck. Ahem.I told them that obviously they misunderstood the concept of a project boat and I brought it home and covered it up. It stayed there until recently, waiting for me to get the time to work on it.I finally gave up and realized that time was never going to appear, and passed it on to a young acquaintance. Today, hes been busily engaged in pulling the outdrive. Apparently, in the time it sat at the back of my yard, the Mercury outdrive elves must have visited. All that internal rust is magically gone, and all he can find to fix is a water pump that needs a rebuild kit, an exhaust bellows that needs replacing, and of course new seals because its been disassembled.I wouldnt take a kids toy boat to this scam artists.
