Ordered a new Suzuki 200hp 4-stroke from Ferry Marine. Best price I could get! Good service getting it set up on my boat, which Im now thoroughly enjoying. A 200hp 4-stroke is a lot quieter than a 200hp 2-stroke! Paul also gave me great service by packing the old engine in a crate with all the accompanying rigging ready for uplift by the carrier for transport to the purchaser. It made the changeover very easy.

I have an ancient ( like myself ) Evinrude outboard motor which has not been used for many years. Evinrude no longer exists, parts are hard to find, if not impossible. I phoned Ferry Marine to see if they could help, and spoke to Paul. Hallelujah ! here was a man who knew he engine well, and explained the difficulties of finding any one who could work on them or source parts. He said he would have a look at it, but could not guarantee that it would be successful, but would be a useful exercise in training his apprentices how these engines used to work. This would also keep the cost down. Sure enough, they got it running again after quite a bit of work, and showed me how to operate it again. I feel they really went out of their way and I cannot thank them enough.

I burst a tube on my Rib while on holiday up the West Coast of Scotland. Ferry marine were well recommended by a professional in the Rib industry. I gave them a call and Paul took my details. They are really busy which is always a good sign and got back to me after a couple of weeks to arrange the repair. The time and cost was exactly as Paul had said it would be but the job was outstanding.Absolutely delighted and so pleased to have my boat as good as new. Thanks for a great job and friendly service.

I am new to boating and needed help with repairs and sourcing spares. Ferry marine was recommended to me. Paul was so helpful and happy to explain the common problems and source anything I needed. Prices were as good if not better than on line. Will always turn to them for future requirements and am happy to recommend them to anybody

I am pleased that Ferry Marine have become authorised dealers for suzuki and could therefore service my rib engine. It was refreshing to talk to people who listen and respond by fixing the issues. And I didnt have to wait several months, very happy.

Keep well clear of these so called marine Engineers. I put my 60HP Yamaha in for a salt blockage and service got it back a month later. I put it back on the boat and launched from the harbour slip, it never even reached its berth,When the engine eventually started it seemed running very rough for less than a minute then stopped wouldnt start. I thought battery must be faulty went and bought a new one at more expense £87, to add to the £242.72 I paid for a service not fit for purpose, but to no avail, just a chunk noise from the starter motor. A motor engineer at the harbour looked at it the flywheel would not move, the engine has ceased.I Phoned Ferry Marine (where my engine had originally come from ) a very pompous man called Paul told me it cant be there fault as he has been in business for years. when asked what he had done for the £242.72p he charged me he said he put black marks on the timing pulley, and his staff had helped me unload the engine,(I actually put it onto a sack barrow and wheeled it into the premises myself) as if thats what I paid for!! And if the engine had ceased tough there was nothing more he would do no refund and no offer to put it right, but suggested I send him a lawyers letter as he has his own company lawyer which if his service jobs are like the one I had it would certainly pay him to retain. The nipple from the water hose outlet was missing the tilt motor cover rusted and screws for setting idle speed missing. The oil pump had been disconnected as there were new split pins in the lever. The wiring harness had also been reworked or rewired to fix an oil warning alarm which wasnt an issue I had before they got it. I would not recommend this lot to anyone and the customer service is atrocious from this extremely arrogant individual.Pass this to anyone who may have a marine interest I could have been in the middle of the firth of Clyde with my grandchildren on board when this happened.

Ferry Marine managed to repair my engine and its running great. I did take it elsewhere before and was not happy with the service, failed to fix the original fault. Ferry Marine diagnosed the fault and repaired it for the quoted price. Mike was very helpful. Would use them again

Called and spoke to Paul once twice and thrice to confirm the date we could bring our boat in for a service so it would be ready for summer. Having driven an hour and a half to get there they denied any knowledge of our 3 phone calls despite showing them our call log. Sent us away.

Not the cheapest place to have your RIB serviced, but they know their stuff, doing lots of commercial Ribs too, with plenty good friendly advice.

This is a son and father operation, have used them for the last 8 years for servicing/minor repairs on my Humber rib, nothing in this field is ever cheap but when you are off the west coast of Skye I need to know things have been correctly done, from out board servicing, VHF electrics, wiring, tube repairs etc. They are willing to go the extra mile to turn things around in a few hours or days, compared to other operators in central Scotland these guys do what it says on the tin, many thanks jamie stevenson, 6m humber rib owner
