Great people with a big heart! While I was turning with my bicycle across the country my rear wheel started to break down. Therefore, I really needed to take my bike to a mechanic. I went to this shop and this amazing people fixed my wheel perfectly, since it lasted in perfect conditions until the end of my journey!Thank you so much to all the members of this crew!π
Better to stick with a paid service.I came here about a month ago to assemble a bike that was shipped to me. Luckily the brakes were already installed so it was mainly just adding the wheels and tuning it up. I was told that it should take an hour to an hour and a half when booking the appointment and was looking forward to getting some advice on my new bike.I arrived for my 8:00 appointment but the building was locked until a woman came to open up shop 10 minutes later. She then took my bike and convinced me that the chain (which was already attached to the frame) needed to be disassembled when it really just needed to be slipped onto the crank and rear wheel. I went along with it, which took 25 minutes as we ended up breaking my chain and I had to purchase a new one. This entire process was entirely unnecessary as I learned when explaining it to a professional at another bike shop. With half my time taken and a broken chain, I was overall not satisfied with the staff. They claimed to have little to no knowledge about a single speed bike and were constantly Googling things. They called the rear dropout adjustment screws that I brought probably just extra parts. After over an hour, I had a rear wheel incorrectly placed and an unnecessarily paid for chain attached.I left quite unsatisfied and ended up going to Sunrise Cyclery who took care of me quickly. It was here that I learned just how incompetent the service on my bike was at Blue Bikes. Im pretty sad as I have used Blue Bikes a few years ago and got great assistance from staff who I was confident in. I was hoping to have a similar learning experience with my new bike but instead lost a part and my time. Im sure Blue Bikes is still a great place for fixing simple flats or basic maintenance, but anything beyond a quick fix should not be trusted by them.
Super great services, and its instrumental for low income students. Shouldnt be scrapped by the university.
Ive been going to USU for 2 years and just found out about this place. They helped me replace my brake lines and brake pads for $20. Ive never done anything more complicated than changing a flat tire on my bike, and the guy was super patient and helpful. Will definitely be going back!
As the bicycles onsite are all subsidised by Student Fees, rentals (both 24 hour & 3 monthly) are free for all Utah State University students. The bicycles are of excellent quality (the make and style differs somewhat between them) and are always maintained well. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, and are available throughout the week to assist in any bicycle related matters, should your Blue Bike need repairs. Further, they offer help with students personal bicycles should you need them. I believe youre also able to come in and use their facilities to work on your own bike at any time. They also keep a well supplied selection of tools & parts available to all students; these are for use on both Blue Bikes and students bikes.I only wish that I could rent out the same bike twice in a row, as I sometimes get rather attached to the bicycle I have and then during the next rental period I get one thats different to my last.Other than that, I cant recommend Aggie Blue Bikes highly enough. Ive used them since I was a my first semester as a Freshman and Im quite quite Ill be using them until my final semester.
The workers help you learn how to fix your bike. Great service.
I checked out a three month rental and the staff were always happy to help. While you wait for them to do the bike check-up they engage in conversion with you. For students with their own bikes there is a free tool board and if you dont know how to fix something they will teach you.
Wonderful bike shop for students. You bring your bike in and they show you how to fix it and provide the tools you need. You also can buy common repair items like brake pads or tubes here for very cheap . Friendly staff, either inexpensive or free depending on what you need, and very helpful.
You must be a student at Utah State. The service is great and the employees are very knowledgeable. This isnt a repair shop where you pay for a bike expert to repair your bike for you. You take your bike in, you use the tools and the bike experts are there to help you know what to do. They are always very helpful. Stellar guys (and gals).
Ive been in here loads of times and never had a problem. Ive paid my student fees for 4 years, yet if you forget your student ID once, you get the coldest reception a business could possibly provide. I walked in (nobody else is in the shop) and said Hey I forgot my student ID, can I type my A# in somewhere? The supervisor replied No. You cant touch the toolboards, and dont even think about using any of our stuff. You definitely could have handled that a bit better bud. Until today this would have been a five star review, but no real business in this valley would treat a customer like that.Edit: Adding a few stars for the thoughtful comment from the new management.
I love how they provide tools, expertise, and their shop for people to fix their bikes. Its free for students too! Awesome campus organization!
You can come in with a broken bike and they will guide you and help you fix it. Students can also check out bikes for a weekend, including mountain bikes and tandem bikes (for a nice date). And students can also check out a bike for the semester. Great service from the University.
Rented a bike here for a semester and was super happy with it. Its great if you dont want to spend money on a bike. Cool that the university provides this as a part of your student fees.Take advantage of it if you can!
Great place to fix up your bike! Helpful staff and if you already know what you are doing then you can use the tools for free. Also if you are a USU student they will let you rent a bike for free.
An invaluable asset to the students at USU. I have used their resources to repair my own bike many times and have often taken advantage of their free 3 month bike checkouts. USU wouldnt be the same without this place.
Staff is great to work with and will help you get a bike that fits your size and needs. They are quick with repairs and great to answer your billing questions.
Great for Students who want to get around campus or around town! I rented a bike for three months for free and I loved having it. One time I had to take my car into the shop and it was super convenient to have my aggie blue bike to get around. The staff are super friendly. Go aggies!
Friendly people and provides everything I needed to replace my tire. I did have to bring my new tire they dont sell here.
Ive always had a good experience coming here. Somethings you have to come in a couple times to get a 3-month rental (during the busy times of the year).
Hard to get a bike, but if you get one, the staff is very friendly and easy to work with and the bikes are great!
Students are able to repair their bikes here and get free toys from experienced mechanics. They also loan bikes to students so they can get around town and campus
Yes, aggies can rent bikes here for free!
