I had bought many items including 2 plastic tubes that were cut for me. I returned to the store for more items and asked a female employee if I could possibly return one of the tubes ( if she said no that would have been fine). Tube was wrong diameter. The employee said I could if I had receipt. So I returned to store with receipt and tube and a blonde woman was at register. I told her I was returning tube with receipt in hand . Well when I couldnt remember name of original employee who told me I could return tube...the blonde employee started talking to me like a criminal and almost accused me of lying. This went on for 10 minutes until original employee showed up and confirmed she told me I could return tube with receipt. Well the blonde woman, with a scowl on her face, begrudgingly gave me back purchase money.I would have understood if I couldnt return tube. No problem there. But the treatment by the blonde employee was horrible.I should mention I previously lived on Concord lane for 15 years and would always go to this ace. Never had a bad experience before.

I just want to say this place and the staff are amazing. I needed O-Rings and not only did Tyler show me where they were he actually counted out the amount I needed. When I came back later that day, I’m not sure if I caught him as he was leaving for the day or going to lunch but again he took the time out and counted out the o-rings I needed . Excellent customer service from him and the whole staff. This isn’t my first time to this location, but every time they go above and beyond and exceed my expectations

Ace Hardware is sooo beautiful inside when they remodeled the entire store. Every employee was extremely kind and asked me if I needed help with anything. This specific store deserves 10/10 stars! they have soo many different kinds of products- tools, pens, notebooks, phone chargers, SD Cards, paint, SNACKS, etc. I seriously love going there every single time!

Schroeders ACE Hardware is a LOMBARD institution. They have an extensive inventory, with more variety than big box stores (BBS), and knowledgeable people to sell it to you. Recently went into BBS looking for waterproofing spray for my tarps and was told didnt carry any by 2 people wearing headsets talking to 1 other. That is except for the 3 different locations I found it in, including an aisle capper. They had 96 cans! Meanwhile back at Schroeders, They filled my order for 12 ea. Chrome, and 12 ea. Stainless of 31 different sizes of screws and didnt miss a beat!

Associates are always helpful! Have been shopping at Schroeders, now Lombard, Ace Hardware for many years. I have not seen a difference in the store or staff since they became Lombard Ace Hardware (except for the revised layout!), There is always someone available to help. Their knowledge and guidance is greatly, greatly appreciated!

This is my go to place. This ace has pretty much everything you will need. I have bought individual hardware to a snowblower here. The service and the selection is outstanding. I visit the store ate once or twice a week. The staff is friendly and always very helpful. I have my keys made here and have had them always done right.

Always very friendly and pretty knowledgeable for the most part, more so than the big home improvement stores. Have lots of products and small items to fix various things. Some prices are just a little higher but convenience of location and not a giant store is well worth it. This store has been around for as long as I can remember and always a positive experience. They do offer a variety of services from paint,key making, screens,glass and other things. Good to see a family owned franchise still operating in the neighborhood.

I had a bees nest under my siding and couldnt find the right spray. I had a photo of the bee and one of the associates likedy at the picture and told me it was a ground bee. I wouldnt have ever figured that out. I went home used the spray and the nest is gone. Amazing customer service. Thank you for the help.

Schroeders Hardware is the only Ave that I go to unless its an emergency. Its in a different town than I live but I gladly drive the extra miles. They are very helpful, polite and it is always clean! If they dont have what you need (which isnt very often)they will either order it for you or help you find it somewhere else. Great people!

I was with a friend who was looking for a specific item. As with most people nowadays, he wanted to go to the home improvement megastore nearby, expecting that hed find his item fast and go. What he found fast was an abundant supply of overdone, overpriced, overloaded merchandise that far exceeded his needs and his budget. I drove him here, suggesting that neighborhood hardware stores generally have the items youre looking for and will sell you as many or as few as you want. Thats what happened. He found what he was looking for, bought only as much as he wanted, and stayed within his budget. All in all, an overall positive experience.

Had the products I needed and was asked if I could use any help without me seeking it out. Not like the invisible help at the big box stores. Also the check out person wad super nice.

The first thought I think of when I choose to shop at Schroeders, is the fantastic service. You cant walk very far into the store without being asked if you need help. The employees are probably trained more in the products than any place I shop and that is down to the sizes of the screws you would need. Several family generations of the owners also work in the business and they work so well together to help the customer get what they need and be on their way. If I had a chance to vote for the best business in Dupage county for hardware, Id choose Schroeders.

Ever this is the coolest Ace ever they carry hats and flags to support our troops! They sell sports memorabilia they also have lotto not to mention the great variety of old school and new technology tools. so if you cant find it here I dont think you need it

Edit: Needed an inner tube replacement and head manager told me itd take 2 hours to replace (took 20 min). Tried to upsell me to buy $75 in solid tires for a dolly. Dont trust advice here any longer. The donation of materials to student groups for various projects is only one example of its engagement in Lombard and Villa Park. Schroeders Ace has provided many teens their first real job. Many continue working at Schroeders through college. Older employees provide the kind of advice and assistance that is lacking at big box stores. This is still a place where one can buy many hardware items in the quantity needed instead of bulk or prepacks with a huge selection of repair items that are not available at the home store giants.
