I am NOT a native speaker, but I love the Persian language and have been studying it for years. Mr. Valupour was so patient with me, my endless questions and broken farsi! I was just visiting from FL but if I lived local Id be a regular for sure!

Amazing experience! I went there in person first when I was visiting LA, and then got some books shipped to me as well. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. He is one of those people who is not just after making the sale, he truly enjoys talking about the art and the literature.When I received the shipment I found a very nice and generous surprise, the books were neatly packed and there was a beautiful calligraphy (of my name) on one of the packages which I cut out and kept. I love this store and its owner! Hes extremely knowledgeable about art and Persian literature and is always more than happy to spend time with his customers. My house is full of his artwork which is very unique and very colorful

Their phone greeting message says; We are closed Sept 20th 2020 till Sept 27th 2020. isnt that a little old. this information center, is not giving you information, and ask you to leave your name & number....!!! LOL

Dog eared is the shop of my dreams. If you are looking for all the new fiction thats out there, this is not the place for you. Its a beautifully curated selection of new and old, with staff picks that are spot on but not in your face. I also applaud their small press section particularly with their poetry collection. Go to shop in San Fran.

OM. What a wonderful little book store. Actually, its 2 floors & pretty big. All kinds of books new & used. If you are want to go to a old timely bookstore, this is it. Seems like its been here forever.

I absolutely love independent bookstores and Skylight Books is by far one of my favorites. Great variety and selection, especially for the literary-minded. Solid bargain selection, lots of staff recs, and helpful if you need to order something. Youll probably even spot a celebrity!

One of the great surviving bookstores in the country. You could get lost for hours in this place. Extremely well curated selection. Amazon is fine, but cant replace an experience like this.

Masud created beautiful custom calligraphy for me and took the time to help me translate a word to Farsi and capture the feeling and essence I was going for. He is kind, patient and an incredibly talented artist!

Know how you know someone went to Harvard (Bookstore)?They tell you.Put the reviews through that filter and understand its truly unimpressive and based off the same motive as other bookstores, Ivy or not.

I not a big reader, but this store is really fun. Lots of cheap used book choices, as well as tons of new ones. Lots of places to sit and read and the store has plenty of cool trinkets.

Amazing little treasure of a bookstore. Wowed by how unique all the items in there are. I could probably spend my lifetime thumbing through pictures, manuals and postcards found in there.

We went there to get some artworks to offer as gifts. We picked a couple among a bunch of awesome ones, while the owner was very kind. He even offered us a live performance, consisting of beautiful custom calligraphies on the gift wrappings.
