This is a wonderful Salt & Straw location. I came here on a busy Saturday evening and they have a great amount of staff working here so there isnt much of a wait. I tried the seasonal Bug Juice Sorbet which was excellent. I also appreciate that they have a kids size scoop of ice cream because that is just the right amount for me. Excited to try more flavors!!
The line was long and daunting. We thought it’ll be worth the wait. In the end there was no special taste to any of the flavours, they’re all very basic with just the bland sugar and cream taste.Plus the homeless loitering inside asking for scoops of your ice cream and grabbing water from the counter inside the store.
I found out about this place from doing food delivery. One day I was craving ice cream and remembered this place. Iv been twice so far and love it😋… the picture is (sea salt caramel w/ caramel ribbons) it’s really good, is a bit salty so I do suggest only get one scoop. The scoops are big size; for the price I feel it’s worth it..
My partner has a severe peanut/tree nut allergy so it can be difficult to find a dessert place free of them, but the staff here have been extremely helpful in reassuring us, from showing us the ingredient list to even going as far as using fresh scoopers to avoid cross contamination! The seasonal flavors are always interesting too and I cant get enough of honey lavender 🍯
Delicious ice cream!! Had a pumpkin pie, apple pie crumble ice cream on a waffle cone. Waffle cones and bowls and made fresh in store. Cant wait to go back!
Solid. Good flavors, good service. I think this place was a big deal when they first opened but the shine has faded a bit. Maybe thats just how ice cream places go? Their ice cream is incredibly rich - sometimes I feel its too rich and sweet. And theyre flavors are definitely skewing toward the less subtle and more sugar blast. At least it seems that way. But, it doesnt disappoint. Whats next?
Some of the best tasting ice cream ever! All natural ingredients. Made in store. I enjoyed the Strawberry Coconut water Sherbert. I also enjoyed the Cold Brew Coffee Cashew Praline.
Favorite ice cream place in LA hands down.Always excited for their seasonal menu. Never gets old.
This probably the best ice cream shop to me 🍦 Due to Covid19 so you cannot enter the store. They set up the menu with QR code so you can just go ahead and order online and they will give you your order right away. I amazed by the Honey Lavender flavor - it’s not too sweet and has a light taste of honey and the beautiful smell of lavender. I also tried their Mint Chocolate Chip and I think it’s very tasty with a lot of chocolate chip flavor. Highly recommended!!
Long line for something decent. I didnt think the selection was that amazing but still the little they had was tasty. I ordered the strawberry and coconut which was fine, the hibiscus and coconut it was okay but not really my cup of tea it was a bit on the tangy and left a aftertaste. The price was a little high for a single scoop. I def would recommend it but not worth all the wait and traffic to get there
One of my favorite and most memorable ice cream eating experiences. The honey lavender flavor explodes in your mouth, cant wait to go back for more.
Different flavors than those old brands, but not necessary to be better. Miss nothing by not trying.
A quality Ice Cream is the best way I can describe Salt & Star - I love the chocolate / chocolate brownie !
Really good ice cream at a decent prize. The location is minimalistic and unique and the service is quite friendly and quick. Though there arent many seats despite the space size, its still quite a good experience. Got the chocolate gooey brownie and the coffee flavors and they werent that sweet, which is perfect for people who like ice cream but dont like it super sweet.
This is the location where I experienced Salt & Straw for the first time. And I still remember it clearly it was in June 2017, I was on my way to an art exhibit when I came here for some ice cream beforehand. Since that visit I became an instant fan and have been coming here (and their Pasadena location) ever since. I love their monthly specials and well as their current rotation of flavors. Always look forward to my monthly visits!
Always unique and tasty flavors... Best part is this past month they started allowing taste testing again (pre covid)
Still practicing covid safety so only letting a few in at a time. Flavors are unique and good. I had honey lavender and goosebumps, which is like a mango base and some green stuff and pop rocks. All of it was good.
Some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. Truly worth the wait and truly worth the price. If you get a chance go here.
If you want a simple nice creamy chocolate ice cream this is not the place for you. If you like lavender flavored ice cream for example, this is your place. One isnt better than the other, matter of personal taste.
Just based off the one flavor, salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough! The chocolate is dark and is so bitter and dry.
Premium ice cream store. Creative and fun flavors. The staff will let you try many of their unique types of ice cream because they know you wont be able to help your self and order some of their deliciousness. This establishment attracts a trendy crowd and is generally busy. It is expensive but well worth the treat. It is clean and well designed. I wish they did not add pork to some of their ice creams.
Salt & Straw ice cream company based in Portland, Oregon. Ever since I could remember going for 🍦🍨 was an adventure. Salt & Straw have a wide variety of flavors to choose from. We ordered a scoop of Coffee & Bourbon, Strawberry Coconut and Chocolate Gooey Brownie flavors. They are moderately creamy and taste good; neither too bland nor too sweet. Just perfect👌. Of the three ice cream flavors, I love the C.G. Brownies more just because I like the brownies tid bits. Prices $$ are fair; average is $4 bucks for a scoop (cone or cup). The interior decor is simple yet modern. Its spacious and well lit. Indoor seating is limited to a small wooden varnished bench with side table while outdoor seats have few tables and chairs. Street parking only. Overall, its a great ice cream parlour.
The honey lavender scoop was so sweet! Very tasty, no indoor seating right now. Still very cute establishment.
Everytime I go they have different flavors. Really good and high quality ice cream
Not that many variety of flavors but they do offer samples to try any of the flavors available. Very delicious and creamy though. Really enjoyed a berry pie one they had but their names are too complicated to remember 😅. It was crazy to see they even have a lucky charm ice cream 😳 but overall its ok. Its a bit pricey because it was $19 for two waffle cones and one cup of ice cream but I guess they charge that bc of the different flavors? 🤷🏻♀️ they sell mugs, shirts, different kinds of honey and other merchandise. My favorite part was the waffle cones they do in store.
Great spot to come by and try some amazing ice cream. I had a wonderful time here. I was able to try any flavor that I wanted. Which only makes it harder to choose in my opinion. But nonetheless it was great. They always have some seasonal flavors going on so be sure to keep an eye out for that. They have these cool little slots where you can dump your spoons once youre done sampling.I liked how you can split scoops meaning you dont have to order a full scoop if youd prefer to mix and match. I tried their brownie one. To die for, just fantastic. The other one was the strawberry with cheesecake if Im not mistaken. Wow wow wow. The prices are fair and the staff were all extremely friendly. Ill be back next time Im in the arts district for sure.
Always fresh ice cream, I love vanilla here, sometimes other flavors are sold out due to their popularity.
A busy ice cream joint with both unique and classic flavours. Tried their olive brittle and goat cheese. It was a unique set of flavours that worked well together as a combo, but got too strong towards the end of the bites. Then went back and tried their classic sea salt with caramel ribbons and their coffee and bourbon. The bourbon ice cream was very smooth with great hints of coffee flavours. Really liked this one!! One of the more outstanding coffee flavoured ice cream Ive had.
Coolest ice cream shop Ive seen. We need these in Arizona
Amazing icecream!! The flavours are all unique sounding but so tasty. We ordered sea salt with caramel ribbons and chocolate gooey brownie and both were delicious. Ive been a few times before (on a weekend) and the lines were pretty long but the last time we went was mid day on a Monday and it was quiet. Its also super trendy and cute inside and located in a cute area so you can walk around around and visit Venice beach!
Interesting ice cream flavors...like pear and Bleu cheese. I do not recommend the rhubarb crumble. I found the rhubarb fruit part cloying. The ice cream itself is fabulous!
Theres always something delicious & unusual at Salt & Straw! The LA Arts District location was no exception! 😋🍦
If you are a ice cream person its impossible not to fall in love their ice creams...On fresh baked waffle cone....a handful single scoop that is filled up the inside of the cone as well..Retro interior in artsy Art District is perfect location to find such a beautiful ice cream store...Friendly and hip staffs help you out to decide which flavor you should get.Its not easy to find parking around this area so id recommend to come with friends and have one person stay in the car and others go grab ice cream quickly unless you are going to stay this district for a while.Want to try all of flavors they have!!
Im always excited to get the honey lavender 😎 its my all time fave!! I did try the salted caramel cupcake, which i liked only when i got to the salted caramel, i didnt really like the brownie part. My hubby got the salted caramel cupcake and strawberry tres leches. He wasnt a huge fan of either. Frida (our chihuahua mix) got herself a doggy scoop of vanilla ice cream. I was a bit skeptical because i didnt ask about the ingredients in the scoop. She never eats human food, so I figured a small scoop wont hurt. The service was great! Thanks guys 😁😀
The art district is just a stone throw away from my home I cannot have enough of the lavender and honey ice cream one of my all-time faves and the berries jubilee they just brought out his scrumptious take a peek in there you wont walk out without anything
I like to keep up with trying all of their flavors, but I always come back to the Honey Lavender and Cold Brew flavors. Its the best lavender flavored treat Ive found, and tastes amazing paired with the coffee flavor.
Ice cream spot straight from PDX. So many incredible options that serve classic flavors like coffee with chocolate chips or chocolate chip cookie dough. Then they have off the chart ones like olive brittle and goat cheese or tomatillo jam & cream cheese. They have seasonal flavors & ones that stay consistently on the menu. Whatever flavor/combination you get, itll be sure to satiate your ice cream cravings. They also have sundaes, milkshakes, or good old fashioned ice cream on a cone
God I love this place! Always have seasonal flavors. Honey Lavender is my Fave but James Bourbon Coffee, Mummys Pumpkin Spice Potion and Thanksgiving flavor Roasted Peach and Sage cornbread stuffing were by far the best during this time of year.
My favorite LA ice cream shop. Period.
Despite how the name appears as though they only have super spicy chicken available, Blazin Hot Chicken actually allows each customer to adjust the level of spice on the dish they order. This inclusiveness culture is quite nice especially for people like me who have a low spice tolerance and can fully fell the wrath from a single hot cheeto. The staff was very friendly and I appreciate their creative menu! I think my favorite dish would have to be the grilled cheese with chicken hands down! Fries are a must; they are very crispy and yummy so I would highly recommend!!!
Pretty good ice cream! I like their downtown Disney location more because of the ambience and plentiful seating. This one gets their flavors spot on, but somehow the ice cream melts really fast? Went a second time and had the same experience. If anything, ask for a cup and then put the cone on top.Theres metered parking and some seating for another cafe across the street. Good for a grab and go. No sampling bc of covid.
Great ice cream and the staff here is always friendly!
Broad variety, varied and interesting flavors, delicious one word..... friendly and kind staff:) Cant wait to visit again.
Superb flavors!Small place with huge taste. Two soups were excellent. So the tzatziki.Enjoyed the grilled salmon very much. Small place to dine in but nice service. Will order from here again.
Flavors are always interesting. Their covid precautions are great. Cashless for now so bring card to pay.
Great ice cream!
Amazing service and best ice cream
Nice setting, customer service is okay... They have a handful of flavors that are different. Vanilla, lavender, so on... Price is good. Vibe is minimal but cute.
Best ice cream ever!! They have wild flavors -- like goat cheese and olive -- that are inexplicably delicious. Sea salt caramel is always on the menu and paired with a fresh made waffle cone, its a real treat.
The staff here were the best. I was in a jam and they had my back.
I love the variety of flavors at Salt & Straw. You wont find any basic ones because all of their flavors are unique. Dont let some of the names turn you off though because they may just surprise you at how good it is! I remember one time I tried a sample of the peach & blue cheese and it was so yummy. They also have seasonal flavors, so I like how they change up the menu every now and then.During my last visit here, I got a double scoop of the roasted strawberry & toasted white chocolate + coffee & bourbon. The strawberry one was so tasty and not like your typical strawberry flavored ice cream. Its something you just have to try out for yourself! For the coffee & bourbon one, I mostly just tasted the coffee flavor. Regardless, its still very good.I came on a Saturday around 6pm and there was a line. Seeing as it was barely dinner time, I could tell that this place is popular and it gets pretty busy. But the line doesnt take too long and service is great despite the crowd of people.
Best and definite most unique ice cream in Los Angeles!
Great ice cream and great service.
While visiting Los Angeles we went to Salt and Straw today before we head out to Houston Tx tomorrow. The ice cream is AMAZING!!!!!! :)
The best way to live Salt& Straw Ice cream love it 😁👏
Always great ❤
Stopped by this French chicken restaurant which I noticed on my way to the WeHo 24. Good tasty chicken protein! And its a cute French bistro with lots of red, my favorite color. And check in on Yelp to get a free dessert: choose from tiramisu, flan, chocolate cake or peanut butter cookie.
