Tried the famous brown bread flavor. It was very watery/icy. Tasted like vanilla with some chunks of bread crumbs in it. I threw it out after a few bites. I would come back and try one more flavor but if it’s as icy as this one I wouldn’t return.
Hard to say no to a spot with non-dairy ice cream! I was visiting Donut Friend next door and decided to pop in to try out the ice cream here. I got a kiddie scoop of the vegan caramel oreo. I was hoping for caramel ribbons in the ice cream but instead there was a salty caramel taste to the oreo ice cream. Not bad though. Many flavors, including 4 non-dairy and a few more sorbets. The sign posted on the door didnt full match the available flavors inside (weird). We also waited for a while before anyone came out of the back to greet us. They were surprisingly slow on a warm Saturday afternoon (while next door had a line out the door). Covid precautions in place - plastic divider at the register, hand sani provided, no samples.
Best ice cream bar none. Amazing flavor combinations. Truly iconic.
Came here to get dessert after lunch and the staff was rude!We walked in to get some ice cream and as usual Im indecisive about what flavor I want. So I asked for samples and one of the staff there kind of gave me a dirty look and reluctantly gave me a small sample. After 4 samples he got progressively ruder and told me that they charge after 4 samples! Holy cow. Ive never heard of this before! We ended up getting 2 scoops of 2 different flavors. The scoops were really small and melted really fast and it wasnt even a hot day.Overall unpleasant, I would not come back!
This is by far the best ice cream I’ve ever had, and I love ice cream. My recommendations are Brown Bread, Mint Chip (this mint flavor is extremely refreshing, to say the least), Earl Grey, Lavender Honey, Chocolate Peanut Butter... honestly, I haven’t had a bad flavor yet. And there are plenty of non dairy flavors for those who don’t eat dairy. I’ve been here every day this week lol. Cute packaging on the pints too- which are buy one, get one half off. And all the reviews that mention “cash only” are old and mistaken, they take card these days.
By consensus a 5 star ice cream parlor. 🤤 Dem flavors be oozin yum yumz.
The ice cream at scoops is very good but their service was horrible. I called asking if I could purchase a full batch of red velvet Oreo ice cream. The gentlemen that answered the phone refused to package the ice cream into two separate containers when I explained to him that it was for different households. The gentlemen was extremely unreasonable being that I was a customer who was willing to buy out his days batch . Very surprised and disappointed .
Every time I go I am amazed with how good the ice cream is.
Best ice cream anywhere. Most creative, interesting, and finely-tuned flavors you will ever find.
Icecream flavors are amazing. Thank you always a treat
If you want AMAZING one of a kind ice cream go here! As a huge bonus you wont break the bank either, two scoops of one flavor is under 3 dollars which would be a win even if you couldnt get the worlds best flavors here, blueberry tea and kiwi mango for example. Furthermore they have great dairy free options too so everyone can enjoy some superb ice cream.
These flavors are magical and so are the prices. $2.85 kids scoop? Yes, please. Pistachio fig? Double yes, please. It’s great. And casual. Also - if you Years a bunch of stuff without buying there’s a $2 fee - so choose something!
Scoops is a really Innovative place, their ability to change up the ice creams every time I come always keeps me coming back. Although it is sad to not see a flavor that you like previously, it forces you to try something new every single time you come. The flavors are exceptional, and dont really seem to be lacking in any department. This is a pretty good date spot, and if youre over 21 allows for a wider range of alcoholic flavors. This place is definitely worth a try if you are in the area, are looking for a place to have dessert.
The ice cream here is amazing and they only have a select choice of flavors. I got the green tea and pistachio which were awesome. I love the fact that the ice cream is fresh and soft so you can dig right in. Definitely a treat on a warm day.
Relaxing place to sit down and enjoy some more intriguing flavours of the ice cream world.Ice cream is made in house, along with the options of shakes or floats and is priced less for what you get compared to the other guys like Cold Stone & Baskin Robbins. The only caveat is theres no tables in doors and difficulty parking outside. In short if youre looking for good quality ice cream that wont break the bank, you wont be disappointed in coming here.
Some really unique flavors, creamy, ambience is straightforward and simple, would go again if in the area!
The ice cream here was a unique range of selections different from many others. Dont let the sign about $1 samples scare you; they are only meant to deter freeloaders. As far as flavors go, brown bread was a delightful and crunchy spin on grape nuts!
One of my favorite ice cream shops. I always leave completely satisfied even with a kids size because the flavors are AMAZING.
Best ice cream in the city! Hands down!No bs marketing - low key - mellow and the best ice cream and floats in LA. Plus super great staff!
Delicious house made ice cream with both traditional and unique flavors. Very smooth texture! Also, they do take cards now :)
Fantastic ice cream that focuses on ingredients and quality. The price is also great. The flavors rotate daily and theres always something new. Not your run of the mill stuff either, but flavors like yuzu, raspberry balsamic, and the occasional booze, plus more basic flavors too. Good selection of non dairy as well, not that I eat it.
Went here not really knowing what to expect. The place first of all is very hard to find, as there no obvious sign outside to state that this is the place. We found it merely by going door to door as we knew it was somewhere in our vicinity. But the ice cream flavors are great, and if anything, these unique and interesting and sometimes wacky flavors are really what makes the place stand out. I thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream, I must say they really do make the flavors very well.
They are really nice and the ice cream is good but some flavors are too subtle.Theres no parkingThey say they have set hours but they close the store whenever they feel like it.So just be prepared that you may have to look for ice cream elsewhere
Good flavors that rotate frequently with friendly staff. You can skip the long lines at salt and straw and come here. Also the kids scoop is a great deal.
Delicious, affordable, safe ordering process.
Good ice cream, with unusual offerings. Menu changes constantly, so if you like something, get as much of it as you can while it is still available.
Im not an ice cream person, but I really like Scoops. The price is great for really unique ice cream (they rotate flavors nearly every day). They always have more than 3 flavors I enjoy immensely, and even their non-dairy selections are great. To put it into perspective, I vastly prefer doughnuts to ice cream - I say this because this Scoops is right next to Donut Friend. I walk into Scoops every time. Thats how good it is.For some reason, this is the only Scoops location that does not do debit/credit cards. Make sure to bring ~$5 cash for each person getting ice cream.
York St is a hipster haven... home of gastro pubs, expensive donut shops, and artisan ice cream shops, such as scoops. this scoops is similar to the other locations they have. the flavors rotate daily, and they have some pretty unique flavors--the alcohol infused ones such as green tea sake ice cream are my favorites. parking is nonexistent, so be prepared to hunt for street parking
Their ice cream is LEGIT...the hours no so much. Totally glad they card now. P.S. Their customer service is banging -- they always let me try ALL the flavors before deciding. Love you, Scoops!
So many tasty options and a loveable crew
The best ice cream with the best prices and after 9 years as a fan they still have new flavors every day.
Excellent ice cream. Interesting flavors. Great service!
Best ice cream in LA! Great vegan flavors!
My current favorite ice cream spot. Excellent variety of flavors youve probably never heard of or tasted. Cant beat the variety, quality and value.
Best pizza in the area. Highly recommend their burrata appetizer too
Great tasting flavors, with something new to try daily. Plus great price (for the quality)
Fun spot for ice cream made by hand, always a couple vegan flavors as well
$4 a scoop exotic flavors
Solid performance year after year.
Crazy flavors and great ice cream ?lavender-blueberry? Loved it!
Flavors are interesting but the ice cream is a bit soft and not smooth due to the presence of ice crystals (sign of being churned too slowly).
Wonderful flavors and great value. Try two scoops in one. Delish
Delicious ice cream and for a very good price 👍
Lots of different flavors, vegan options.
Their stuff is really good, from what Im told... Unfortunately, Im diabetic and they dont have any sort of sugar-free or light options
All their flavors are super good.
Good ice cream, cute place.
Amazing flavors that change daily 🙌🏻
Great friendly service. CASH ONLY
Delicious ice cream & good service
