This place hit the spot on a hot summer day. We ordered the milk and mango swirl combination with custard inside the fish cone. We added fruity pebbles as another topping which gave it a nice crunch. I would recommend getting the upside down version where the ice cream is in a cup and the fishtail is like a topping. Makes for a fun picture!

The taiyakis are really good and tasty. And they fill up those fish cone if you get the right side up one. I got the upside down one and i didnt expect that much ice cream in the little cup!! It was awesome!

Delicious ice cream and waffle fish!! It does get a little messy if you buy the right side up version, but I gobbled it all up.. the upside-down version is way to go if you want less mess

A place for nice Instagram pictures but not too much different than any other frozen yogurt place. Also the fish cone looks cool but not practical because the soft serve seeps through it and leaks everywhere. Also get a cup with this to save yourself from the mess. The frozen yogurt is good but nothing fantastic. Toppings dont stick to froyo so just ends up falling off. Also this place is very busy and the employee that served me was very short & ready to go home. I would probably avoid unless you really want the picture.

I usually like the milk flavor Some Somi, but halfway eating this one there was a really weird flavor and super off. I tossed the rest of it. It was my first time buying from this location.

Somi Somi is good! I kind of see the hype. The ice cream was delicious and the fish waffle was average. Overall, this was good. Without the waffle is what I will get next time.

Very busy but fast Somi Somi location. Like most of their locations there was only two people working but they really made it a pleasant experience. The line to order is tucked away to the far left, dont get confused and wait behind the people waiting for their orders on the right, we saw a few people do this and had to direct them to the right line. We enjoyed the strawberry flavor soft serve we hadnt seen at the other Somi Somis we have been to. Super refreshing. We didnt get a Taiyaki because we had just eaten lunch, but they looked yummy and crispy.The store could be cleaner, but with the heavy traffic and only two employees, it was enough to expect your Ah Boong nice and fresh which they delivered on!

I was so excited to try somisomi for the first time! it took me a minute to understand how to order and what to order. when i asked at the cashier to explain whats what, she gave me the are-you-kidding-me look, which was not too friendly for an ice cream place.what i ordered:ahboong (ice cream on fish waffle) with ube ice cream, taro filling and coconut flakes toppingahboong upside down (ice cream in a cup with fish waffle on top) milk ice cream, nutella filling and rainbow sprinkles toppingsoft serve in a cup - oreo ice cream with oreo crumbles toppingcold brew with milk ice creamthey were all really good! i loved my cold brew with ice cream. just imagine affogato, but 3x the sizewhat i didnt like much, aside from the customer service, was how fast the soft serve melt, esp if you just have the ahboong. it feels like youre just trying to beat the drippings. you cant eat it fast enough. so, i suggest go for ahboong for the gram, but then ask for a cup and spoon on the side!

Ice cream and taiyaki were excellent and the service was fast even with a long line. The right side up was a little messy but definitely a fun experience. The soft serve is great and they have a lot of different flavors and changing swirls every week.

Favorite spot for soft serve icecream ( ╹▽╹ )The employees are friendly and the vibe/atmosphere is nice. There was a lot of people in line but I received my order fairly quickly.Will definitely come here again with friends and family.

This place has some delicious desserts. The Taiyaki are filled with your liking and they are perfectly warm. I try to just have one or two but it’s impossible lol. I am not a big fan of their soft serve but you must try it. You might enjoy it. @raulvsfood

Ice cream is reasonably good (not as good as a botique ice cream shop but better than generic gas station ice cream), novelty of the swirl and Nutella “filling” is cool, etc. Would absolutely return here for ice cream again if in the area.Reason for four-star review would be the customer service. It’s an ice cream shop in a busy tourist area, so staff being a touch cold would be reasonable, but the cashier seemed very disinterested in doing their job. Had to repeat myself several times because they weren’t paying attention, etc. Person making the ice cream was very friendly.

I really like this place. The taiyaki is so good. A lil bit of chewiness which I loved. And the soft serve is also great. Their matcha is great. I love that the toppings are free.

Came here twice on my trip to LA because I loved it! The soft serve is creamy and the extra toppings, including the filling you choose brings it all together. I recommend getting the upside down option because it’s less messy to eat it that way. Can’t wait to come back!!

Somi Somi is a good franchise, their staff is friendly, and the desserts are amazing. While it is a little pricey it is AMAZING in the end.

Solid, but i think i like little damage better, somi somi sof serve has a little warmer temp and is gummier where as lil dmg is colder and more firm idk if that makes any sense but that is my experience

Great and cheap taiyaki

This place does not disappoint!! It is a little on the sweeter side, I couldn’t finish my soft serve. I got the ube, milk tea swirl with taro filling and topped it with fruity pebbles. It was heavenly! The waffle cone is placed on top right now so I just kept dipping it in my soft serve, it was warm and crunchy but soft inside. It was all so satisfying and very photogenic!!I got here just on time, right after I ordered, the line multiplied by 10!! It is definitely worth a visit! You will not regret this. Great way to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Came for the taiyaki and was not disappointed, so many choices for fillings. There were good ice cream selections and you could leave with a beautiful colorful cone fit for a princess if you choose your flavors and toppings right. Good atmosphere and stays open late!

I ordered strawberry and Mango swirls with taro base. Soft serve, i.e. somi somi in a bowl as opposed to ice cream in fish shaped cone.Cashier told me for soft serve, it cost extra $0.50 for base. Sure, no problem.The people messed up my ice cream plating. First, the cups were too small to put taro filling. Second, he did not put the taro well. As a result, my ice cream was tilted and dripping when he handed it to me. Such incompetence! IF YOU CANNOT PLATE A BASE FOR SOFT SERVE ORDER, DO NOT ALLOW PEOPLE TO CHOOSE BASE WHEN ORDERING SOFT SERVE! I feel taken advantage of. I feel as if they were unhygienic, unsympathetic.They acted as if it was my fault for ordering a base. NO! It is your fault for not knowing how to plate a soft serve order that includes a base! It is your fault for taking an order you DO NOT know how to make!Pink Berry was here before Somi Somi. It was better.

Somi Somi is a consistently solid dessert choice after enjoying one of Little Tokyos solid restaurants in the area. I particularly enjoy their soft service without the taiyaki, since Im often dealing with limited stomach real estate when it comes time for dessert!My favorite might be their ube, or ube / oreo swirl, with (complimentary) fruity pebbles and strawberry garnish. But you cant go wrong with matcha either!

A freshly made, crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside taiyaki housing some fresh ice cream is somi! (...did you get that lol)They’ve really expanded their soft serve flavor offerings, which is great. The highlight is still their perfect taiyaki, though, so definitely don’t skip those!

Very fun desert place. The ice cream was really good and the taiyaki was delicious. Make sure that you eat the taiyaki as soon as possible so that you get solid chunks of ice cream with the taiyaki filling.

I love this place because my kids love this place. Ordered a custard oreo cookie and it was very good. A bit on the pricey side though. Only thing I wish I did is order the ice cream in a cup, with the fish thingy on top. Because I think the cone was warm, so my ice cream was meltig where it touched the cone. Also ordered some Nutella, custard, and red bean treats to go. Ill be back for sure.

The line is shorter than at the Koreatown branch, and its good to sit and eat in an empty lot near the store.

You can choose between topped and macaroon toppings for free! Its delicious, but its easy to spill when eating the last part of the tire. Tatyki and ice are excellent compatibility. It was delicious.
