He helped diagnose another customer’s bike repair on the spot and told them how to get a part to fix the bike.If you want your bike repaired by an expert this is the shop to go to.

Discovered Gary after getting frustrated with week long turnaround times and only average quality work at local bike shops.I’d seen his van driving around and thought I’d give him a try. Extremely happy to find out he lives only 3 minutes away from me and even happier to hear he could look at my bike immediately.Turnaround time was incredibly way under 24 hrs and not only had he done the work needed to get my rear derailleur working like new again but he diagnosed a few other issues and got those done too. Gary was referred to me from a friend. The first time I came by, he was quick to give me a quote and honest answers/ suggestions. I have since used him at least 3-4 other times. So grateful for Garys business model. We are such a busy family and when my HS freshman sons chain broke on his bike that is his only way to and from school, I needed it fixed fast. Such and easy way to get your bike worked on. Gary is an amazing mechanic and a pretty darned good rider to boot. But he definitely makes sure that everything is top notch on the bicycle before he sends it out and is meticulous about cleanliness (and even chides me about my water bottle cleanliness! ;) Yeah, I know I let things grow in there.Very convenient and really easy to work with, and a really fun conversationalist.

Gary is awesome! I came in to get a standard brake bleed. Quickly he realized that components of my brakes have a history of being faulty and need them replaced. He was able to get those parts warrantied. By the time the parts came in and I was able to get my bike to him, he got that fixed in 24 hours. He was honest and understood that we want our bikes back from the mechanic ASAP so we can go ride!My brakes work better now than when they were brand new.Gary is my go-to mechanic now and will definitely recommend him to any bike buddies looking for a great mechanic.

Tried to ride 6am and discovered a hub issue - tried to fix myself for a bit, then called Gary around 9. He was super helpful over the phone, and after learning that I didnt have the right tools to fix it myself, had me come by around 10. By 11 I was back rolling again.Im a beginner when it comes to bike work, and Gary being willing to talk me through what Id tried and give advice to how I could fix stuff myself was super nice. His willingness to squeeze me in short notice (especially in how busy everything is right now) and walk me through what he was doing was great. By far best bike repair experience Ive had.

The service is second to none, Gary will make your bike perfect.The experience doesnt stop there. If you want to wait while youre bike is serviced, you can learn a volume of routes to ride. It doesnt matter what your discipline is, he has a route to ride for you. Dirt, road, steep, mellow, Gary is an encyclopedia of bike info. Come for the service, stay for the conversation.The Bike Doctor also helped me extend my season, helping me learn how to dress for the conditions at 9600 feet when the weather is ugly. I ride outdoors March into December, and I couldnt do that before he helped me learn layering, and what clothing to select. When I was afraid to take my road bike out in snow, mag chloride, sand and other winter features to ride, he listened and delivered a custom build for those conditions. He selected the perfect frame, wheels, tires, components, and matched them exactly to my other bikes fit. I didnt want to spend a fortune on something made to grind unfavorable conditions, and he showed he listened by saving a lot of money on things not needed for a bike of that nature.Gary gives the best care my bikes have ever been given. That alone is worth 5 stars. Gary is our new Dr when we’re visiting Colorado! This is a long review, but this guy deserves it. We recently came to visit our kids/grandkids in Boulder area and had 2 new Rad Power e-bikes shipped here. We put them together ourselves, but had a blowout before we even rode, and some other issues. I researched all the reviews of bike repair shops (there are bunches here!) and Gary really stood out. With over 40 years’ experience serving pro riders and guys like me, he knows how to fix bikes. He’s open every day and has decent hours and prices. What I liked about him most is his attention to detail…he fixed the bikes like they were his. He even called Rad Power and explained the issues he found and had them ship new parts under warranty free directly to his shop so he could get the bikes 100%. He’s friendly, honest and open. And FAST. I could not find that turnaround service anywhere else in town.

I bought a new expensive bike in 2016. I was never fitted for the bike and so had soreness when riding. Gary was so thorough and explained everything as he went. I went for a ride today and could feel the difference right away. I brought two bikes to him to get fitted on. I have taken my trail bike to two different bike stores as it was not shifting right.They never fixed it. Gary took my bike apart and fixed the several problems that were wrong. He even dropped it off at my house when he finished. I now have a place to go where I know my bikes will be fixed correctly and with someone with a tremendous amount of knowledge and honesty.

Gary is a rare commodity today. He is professional, thorough, very knowledgeable, fair, promp, accessible, accommodating...etc.I had an Elliptigo which needed tires, brakepads,new spokes...basically an overhaul. Gary took on the challenge and completed all of the repairs in two days. In addition, he full explained everything he did and was upfront with the cost of the repairs and options. Did I mention this doctor makes house calls?

Gary Lunsky has been my bike mechanic for over 10 years. He is fast and efficient. But most importantly, his knowledge and skill run both deep and wide regarding bikes. He has built wheels for me, he has done full teardowns for me on my trail bikes. He has resolved any and every issue I have experienced with my bikes. The best thing about Gary is that he stands behind his work and will make your bike to function as perfectly as it is capable. He is responsive, and will get your work done quickly so you can go ride! I was sad when Gary moved his business to the Louisville area, but this area now has one of the best in the business to meet any bicycle needs they might have. Got my 2012 Stumpjumper ready for my second Tour Divide on the same bike last year. Stumpy never rode that smooth ever! Not one mechanical occurred during the ride. Also got a good education on bike maintainence. Best mechanic Ive ever worked with! Picked my bike up in Dillon and deliver it the next week.

The Bike Doctor far surpassed my expectation for what bike service would be like. I had called the Cyclery in Louisville and they said I wouldn’t get mike bike back for at least a week since they were so busy. I thought I’d give The Bike Doctor a try. When I called there was no answer so I left a message and Gary got back to me the same day, ready to pick up my bike. My bike needed a lot of work. He took care of everything and surprisingly it was ready in two days. It is a vintage bike and it looked new. You can tell he really knows what he’s doing and cares about his work. Excellent experience, highly recommend.
