I walk past a national chain every time I come here; I love supporting a local shop where the flavors are better anyway! Iced cold brew, plain black drip, and the mochas have all been excellent. The staff is friendly and there is never a long wait that Ive seen.

I visited Quills Coffee for the first time this past Friday afternoon. I was there around 1:45 pm. And was surprised at first when I saw how many customers were there at that time. But I understood very quickly that most if not all of the people there were regulars who knew about the excellent service that is given there. It was amazing how fast I got my order from beginning to end. And the coffee was of the utmost quality. Quills Coffee is definitely worth giving a visit. You wont be disappointed.

Ive been going to Quills around every couple weeks for five years now. I love the atmosphere; always full of working and chatting students enjoying their downtime. The coffee is wonderful as well as their local snacks and pastries (many of which are provided by Please & Thank You). Everyone working there is always incredibly kind and chill. Recently, their payment system wasnt working so they gave everyone their much needed coffee and food and said we could get them back later - they reinforce our faith in humanity.

Great coffee. Lots of space to work alone or in groups. Wish there were more electrical outlets around the space. Its a popular gathering spot after school and work when electronics need to be recharged.

This is probably the best coffee shop Ive been to and definitely my favorite. Its close to campus and has a great multifaceted environment for me - whether thats running off as fast as possible with a fresh mocha or deciding to stay and read for hours whilst enjoying a V60 pour over. :-)Love this spot!

Great coffee shop vibes. Im from out of town, but this place seemed like the perfect place to sit down and study. Only reason its not 5 stars is there was a homeless guy who came in and sat by me and got kind of pushy when I told him I didnt have cash to give him. Not really Quills fault, but its still something Id rather not have experienced.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere of this great coffee shop. I dont typically like new-style light roast espresso but in the Espresso Tonic is was perfect.

Try the Spiced Nuts. Theyre addictive. Good coffee. Parked here for a couple hours when I was in town. Good place to hang out while youre waiting for someone.

I ordered the iced bourbon latte and it was really good. The atmosphere is chill and the guys working the counter are very friendly. It takes a while to get your drink, but it’s worth it.

Don’t offer hot chocolate if you don’t know how to make it. Every few months I give it a shot hoping that one of the hipsters will have learned how to make hot chocolate.

Clean place, friendly staff. I came for the hemp kombucha but they were sold out. Still they made me a great Carmel latte definitely will be back.

Its great, but they have very strange hours considering how close they are to campus. It would be nice to have a coffee shop close by that was open later, Im sure theyd get good business.

Good coffee, but cappuccino was too cold . I like my cappuccino with hot foam and not like latte with a lot of cold milk. But this is very common in other coffee shops.

Ive never had a bad experience. It has a very nice atmosphere with an outside coffee/eating area, the baristas are always awesome and friendly, the coffee and the food are always fresh and great-tasting, the place is always clean; nothing to complain about.

This is some of the best coffee in the city. You can customize not only the beans, but also the brewing method. For a caffeine junky, its a little slice of heaven!

I rarely ever leave negative reviews, but man. The service here was fast and polite, but that was ruined by the stressful location and way overpriced drinks. Parking is complicated and costs $3—not Quills fault, but definitely an annoyance to consider before driving there. Getting a drink iced costs more than a dollar extra than getting it hot, even though its literally the same amount of ingredients plus a scoop of ice. And if it was the best drink ever, sure, Ill pay more than freaking Starbucks to support a local business! But sadly, my drink was mediocre tasting and lacked any kind of aesthetic. It looked like a sad iced coffee and didnt taste much better. For the $8 I spent including parking, I could have gotten 3 tastier drinks at Sister Beans, ordered a venti Starbucks quad shot Frappuccino, or made like 8 sad iced lattes in my own kitchen—all of which would have let me avoid the stress of driving down West Cardinal Blvd! This place might be worth it if you like bougie coffee and live within walking distance, but Im going to go elsewhere in the future.

Definitely a friendly coffee shop. While reaching over to assist a younger sibling, I accidentally knocked over my own espresso shot, nearly splattering the managers MacBook. Before I had a chance to even grab a paper towel, the manager was on top of the spill with a wet rag, cleaning up a mess I should have rightfully cleaned up myself. To top it off, the barista pulled a second shot free of charge to replace the nearly-full one I spilled, all before I had a chance to lift a finger to undo my mess. I had done nothing to place myself on their good side, and yet the staff treated me well regardless. I couldnt help but leave a friendly review in return.

Coffee is the best youll get in the area, while still being lower priced than Starbucks offerings, staff are very courteous and respectful -- the exact opposite of the area Starbucks.

Such a nice coffee shop. Located in the University of Louisville area, this spot is clean and spacious. The coffee is good - I ordered a cold brew, which was strpng but smooth. I also ordered kombucha - they carry the local Elixir brand. The wifi works well, amd I was able to attend 2 videoconference meetings easily. Also, close enough tk the airport to quickly ride over.

Whatever you like about coffee shops youll find at Quills. Take some beans home with you.
