Took a ride out to Red Hot roasters because I was tired of the subpar coffee I was getting from nearby coffee shops in st Matthews, both local and commercial. Walked up to the drive-thru and ordered a couple of what ended up being perfectly balanced lattes. Not too sweet not too overwhelmingly coffee-y. Really rich taste, not that burnt coffee taste that Ive been getting from a lot of places lately. One wonderful woman was singlehandedly running the show when I got there. She was polite, she was quick, and overall an awesome experience. You can tell theyre a unique, local shop. And I want them to take all of my money. Cant wait to go back and try the burritos for breakfast because they sound delicious.I got an iced Mexican mocha, a Drunken Pumpkin, and a Cinnamon Bun latte - all exceptionally better than any other lattes Ive tried around town lately. Will definitely be back.
I live close and I can smell the beans are freshly roasted. The baristas are so awesome and friendly! Coffee combos they come up with that are very delicious and you can’t get anywhere else. They always have a seasonal menu that is so fun! Great prices too.
I went a couple different times and tried a couple different drinks, one a blended frozen drink and one an iced espresso drink. Having been a barista for several years, I know my way around coffee drinks, and these just really were not good. One was mediocre and one was just downright awful. I really wanted to love this little place, but I just cant.I will say that I didnt try the drip coffee as Im usually interested in something more fun, so its possible that they have really good drip coffee. I really cant say.
This place is the best local coffee shop in Louisville. They have unique seasonal specials that are always amazing. I have also started purchasing their espresso beans for home. Also try out their breakfast and lunch burritos!
The best coffee I’ve ever had.
I look forward to great coffee, cookies, and conversation!!!
There are a lot of great coffee shops around town, but this one is my favorite so far
Great coffee, fair prices, always friendly service. I love this place!
Great Coffee! When my family comes in they always go down and buy the cans of beans and will always want coffee from there in the mornings. They only complaint is the lack of a walk-in or causal seating area. This is a drive up only with a window. The parking and pulling in can be tight if they are busy. Just be aware and courteous when pulling through.
We discovered RHR a few months ago and it quickly ended up in our rotation of local coffee shops we visit. I love the iced coffee and cinnamon rolls!
Relatively fast, but my hot chocolate was 50% foam. I dont pay that much for 1/2 a hot chocolate. They remade it and I felt like I was getting my moneys worth.
Best coffee in town and have tried them all!!!
Stopped by the Lexington Road location, which is now open on Sunday, and I cant say enough regarding the quality of service I received from Myra. The in-house roasted coffee is some of the best in the city. No pretense, just great coffee and great service every time I visit.
Not sure where all the positive reviews came from. Honestly the worst coffee my boyfriend and I have ever had. Tasted like slightly sweetened sink water with rotten almond milk. Also ordered a breakfast burrito that came out almost still frozen, and was way too small and gross for $7. The potatoes inside were black from how old the burrito was.
Every time I visit Louisville I stop here for one of my favorite specialty drinks: Derby Mint Julep Mocha, Cozy Cinnamon Roll Latte or Honey You Cant Handle Me Latte. Always the best lattes around !
Love the coffee and the barista specially Ashton, she is wonder girl. If you wanted really good tasty coffee let’s go in Red Hot toaster coffee shop!! Yummy!!!
Consistently yummy coffee and awesome staff. I usually get a red eye in the cold weather or flavored cold brew in the warmer months.
What to get: specialty drinksTime drink finished: 2 minsVibe: quick coffee drive-thru==The Drinks==With all the specialty drinks, why be basic? Plus as a drive thru, you can grab a drink conveniently and quickly. Perfect for those busy-bees who need to stay caffeinated while on the go.++Honey, You Cant Handle Me Specialty Latte++ [4/5]Since this is a to-go type of place, my photo is after I got home. Not necessarily meant for aesthetics here, but the latte was good and different enough from the regular latte. Its a subtle difference, so nothing that stands out, but comforting enough to get me through my morning. Id probably order something else for the sake of trying other items, but it was a solid choice.==For Next Time==I need to visit again since the menu has changed and its just about Fall now. Likely Ill try another specialty drink.
Fantastic new location! Great coffee, lovely host, plans for a beautiful patio seating. Will be back
Just a walk up but with a wide variety of beverage choices and assorted snack items. Service was very nice and the product top notch!
Best coffee in town. Nicest people too!
I love this place. Louisville local, Kentucky proud. Buy their coffee. ☕️
Love your dark roast coffee!! Simply the best— got all my fam & friends drinking it!!
Great coffee! And I really like that it comes in a great container.
Favorite place to get coffee. I heard about all the great coffee shops when I moved here but this outshines them.
Good Coffee best in town.
Ive been drinking coffee for over 20 years and Ive had coffee from many places all around the seven continents. RHRs coffee is as good or better as any great coffee I have ever experienced, and Ive had some fabulous ones. Im so glad I found out about RHRs (through Airbnb when staying at the owners sweet rental house) while visiting KY! I will certainly be having this shipped to my neighboring state of Ohio!
Always friendly and fast! Great selections! Great coffee!
Louisville has a great coffee culture and Red Hot Roasters is tops. This location offers double duty for drive through traffic and as the roasterie and commissary for the retailers that carry RHR coffee (Whole Foods, for example). I love supporting local businesses and am thrilled RHR has opened its first coffee shop location with counter service and seating, conveniently located on the border of Nulu and Butchetown, an easy stop for those commuting 64 (Story Exit) or down Mellwood from 71 (Zorn Exit) into downtown.
Great coffee and such a cute atmosphere!
Ive been loyal for years and have always had good luck with kind baristas and a damn fine cup of coffee. Its walk-up/drive-thru service only, but who needs more schmucks sitting around stealing wi-fi? Its coffee done right with no shenanigans and a solid foothold in the community. The roaster is on site, so now and then you can bask in the glorious smell of roasted bean covering the smell from the Swift plant.
Good service, good coffee, good price.
Drive thru and always the best brew.
The coffee is my favorite.Service is great!
Best hidden gem of the city! Often dog treats when the dog rides with.
Coffee is excellent, roasted and fresh, thanks for the wake up call
Best lattes in town. Limited hours.
