Such a wonderful place! The store is clean and has a great selection of Russian and Eastern European foods, including fresh produce and fish! The owner is also very friendly :)
Love love love this place!!!Excellent service!Great interaction!!Cant tell you enough how much these people pay attention and interact!!Love this place!!
The staff is always so friendly! They have a wide array of deli meats and snacks throughout their store. Its very organized and their products are affordable too.
This store is amazing and we love it. Great selection, affordable prices, always fresh produce. Friendly staff and always greet you. Highly recommend this store to experience International food.
Best place ever and great people that work there.
The deli meat and cheese are marvelous...the Russian Harvati is well worth the price.
I went to this store to buy some bread. When I came to the counter, the woman said $5 minimum if using credit card. Fine. So then I got a chocolate bar and then the woman said $10 minimum on credit card. I instantly thought things were shady so I took out my emergency cash to pay only for the bread. The woman then claimed the reader was broken but why add in a $10 minimum on a broken card reader? Shady indeed.Once I arrived home, I noticed that someone blacked out the expiration date on the bread. I dont think this is legal to do. Im steering clear of this store from now on.Tip: Please pay attention to expiration dates before buying.
I always leave this place in a good mood : )
I go there every month to stock up on my essentials.Owners are awesome, helpful to those who arent familiar or need some guidance. When buying fresh deli meats, smoked goods and cheese..you will able to sample before you buy.You dont have to even ask.Hospitality is like in Russian home feel free to roam, get what you want and be on your merry way--- thats a good thing. We hate retailers hovering over us.I will not compare it to NY stores because we are not in NY,but I am grateful for that store and definitely depend on many items that unavailable anywhere else.We love going there and always crack some jokes and talk about good ole days. Its almost as if we go back home for a moment. Also I love that they have all of our first aid natural medicines- remedies. We love our little store.See you soon.Vsem privet! Ne boleite!
This place is a great resource for hard to find European foods, sauces, and spices. The (assuming by accent) Russian fellow was pleasant, knowledgeable, and actually a really good conversationalist. I came in for what I referred to as dumplings and he laughed and said to me No, you call them pelmeni! so this is how Ive referred to them since. He knows a bit about Vodka as well. He showed me the spice packet that they usually cook the pelmeni in, and its fantastic. Great little shop. I will be back.
We love this store as we can find a lot of authentic Eastern European products.
The best russian store in Kentucky👌
Excellent little store with everything you need to feel a taste of home! Will definitely return for some goodness again!
Wonderful people Alek and Arena are the best. Caring knowledgeable store owners.Always a pleasure to see them, and to pickup some of there delicious food.
I guess its a one of the oldest international store in Louisville. If you are looking for something special from Eastern European products, defently you have to go there first.
This is a hidden gem. The staff is pleasant while I try new items. Best peaches in town. Fresh prunes, never had one until purchasing from this market. Love this place ❤️
Excellent experience. Ive been there several times for different parties. Theyve all been wonderful. Very friendly. food is exceptionally good. entertainment is good. Decorated according to theme of the party. Very clean.
Awesome place with an awesome shop owner. Took time to introduce himself and offered us multiple tastings. He was great with my son as well teaching him some Russian. Привет
Ever since we moved to Kentucky around 7 years ago we have been shopping at this absolute awesome Russian market. Besides the Russian food there’s so many things you can find that made in Ukraine, several Baltic countries like Latvia or Lithuania, witch is fantastic. I consider myself Russian because I speak Russian language but I was born and raised in Latvia so it is very nice to see some produce from candy/cakes to fish, even bread from my mother land! To get to taste food I ate as a child ( that exact authentic food, same flavor) . Before I ended up here in United States, I’ve spent some time in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, Polland, Estonia, Lithuania, for obvious reasons I know that food!!!!! And guess what, this store has it all !!!! I have visited so far several “Russian “ stores in LA California, Atlanta Georgia, but this is by far the best one! And that is why I love this store so much! Kudos to the owner! Good job! Keep it up! I hope I never get to see this store closed, me, my family, my kids have to have this store!!!!
We have been here multiple times. They have a great tea selection. They have a lot of items you cant find at the grocery store and definitely a place to come see. They also typically have a pastry you can buy some times stuffed with cabbage or potatoes or a sweet one with cheese on it. They are very nice and helpful. I never had an issue with them.
Great and helpful people.... Good prices...
Good Rusian food, so a little expensive for a daily base, hight quality too
Great selection of smoked fish and Russian deli meat. Alec explained everything and gave me samples of everything. I am definitely a new weekly customer.
Pretty typical for a Russian grocery in America. Heavy on things like candy, cookies, and cakes from Russia. Prices are high for similar American products, but not for things imported from eastern Europe, as there isnt much of a market for those things here. The staff were reasonably cordial, but not everyone was conversant enough in English to give much assistance, if required. Nice place to visit for unusual products and a touch of Russia.
They have a very good selectoon if international foods (mostly Russian, Ukrainian, etc.) and a very nice and helping staff. The party room, which can be rented, is very nice and has a nice and large kitchen to work with. I really like coming here as it is very clean and easy to find things. The customers are always very nice and love to help people.
Its a small place, easy to miss, but once you find it, you will continue to return. I have purchased lots of chocolates and teas from various European countries, and the prices are reasonable. They also offer meats and refrigerated items, but I come back because of the kind owners and the great chocolates! Lovely little hole in the wall.
I cant report on much, but as the others said, great service and great variety! Mostly I come for the delicious, supurb chocolate! Some candies have liquid liquor which packs a punch like Bourbon Balls! Ask the shopkeeper which is which.
I went in there for the first time last month looking for a special gift for Christmas of only Russian treats. The lady was so helpful despite my American ignorance :-) I went in again today for all Ukrainian fare and this time I started with the other woman who was also super sweet but we had a little language barrier. The other lady showed up and was able to help me find everything I needed. I will be back again and again and hopefully next time my Russian will be better so I can communicate better. Will recommend this place to anyone!!
I have feel privileged to have this store in our city. I have been eating Russian food since my school days in the now Antique mall next door. They have great produce, pelmini, smoked fish, excellent cheeses and meats, as well as some kosher items. Alex is a great guy and is a credit to the community. Located in an area that also has a nice Eastern European Coffeehouse and a great Bosnian Bakery (Jasmines Bakery). Also there are some East Asian Grocery Stores and an Indian restaurant nearby. Our only real concentrated immigrant food area outside of the South End (South Third Street and the part of Preston Highway with all of the Mexican restaurants and grocers, all of which I recommend). Dont forget to get some Russian Chocolates and Halva!!
I went to this store this past Sunday because my daughter and her friend had a school project and needed to bring in Russian food. The woman working there, along with her daughter, were so helpful.I bought candy, cookies, and the stuff needed to make a dish the woman suggested. She even gave me two magazines for free because they were not the most recent editions and figured we were interested in learning Russian. The kids project was a success and I am very thankful to the people at this store. I will definitely shop here again.
Great store. Thanks!
Great place for Russian food! The sausage selection was amazing. I could have brought all of them home. So good!
Awesome store and the owner is so friendly and helpful💛
Its a great mom and pop grocery store catering to Russian and Jewish community.
Ethnic store with many offerings not available elsewhere. Unique offerings as well as staples. Interesting to shop and browse. Halal goods.

Very interesting Russian market with a very helpful owner and staff. Their deli lunch meat and cheeses are the best.
One of the best international grocery.
Dont know what to say except a good place for great European food you wont get in any other stores, and the most delicious deli, candy, and some of the things I love from my childhood.. and very friendly workers
Its a good place to shop for your groceries
I don’t know where you’re getting your Kvass, but this is the place! Tiny store, huge inventory.
Great place, friendly atmosphere, delicious international food. Highly recommend.
Great
Fun place for Russian food items.
The boss is extremely rude person and a racist and the prices are too high. Better go to Kroger to the European section! I will never go there again!
We love this place - super friendly and you cant beat the food quality. They have a lot of foods you cant get anywhere else. We go here weekly.

GOOD PLACE
The largest corner of Russian dietary happiness in Louisville
I will write part of this review in Arabic because most of consumers are Arabs, but basically the one who is behind the counter the one with the beard is very rude and he doesnt know this is America and it is not his fathers store! The shop is varied and there are many goods, but the person behind the counter a little taste greatly asked him 2 pounds of coffee and his answer was: (I want sugar) and the rest at the time of closure more than minutes and there are people shopping others and his answer was at the top Insolence to a buyer has in the shop !!!Then he argued that he did not want to delay me but said there were other buyers in the shop! I mean not because he felt his mistake and I told him no thanks I do not want to delay you! He insistedAfter all, the coffee is not well ground, the Turkish coffee should be very fine and the coffee is coarse.
A good place to eat all you want and varied
