In the past Firearm service center has been incredible in prices and service and will do anything for you but on April 22nd 2020 I left a shotgun of mine there to be repaired here now January 14th 2021 I’ve had it. Since Gary’s death the number provided on the building and in the answering machine neither respond to text or answer calls and has a full voicemail box so I’m left with no ability to get my property back after having left it there for the past 9 months my next step is a lawyer

Went in to check the place out, a lot of Chinese optics, cheap 3rd tier ar parts and the shop was in general disarray. Not something you would expect from professional gunsmiths. After overhearing a few typical gun store conversations, I already knew I was in for it.I ended up speaking to one of the guys about a lower parts kit, and he tried to sell me on a trigger. When I mentioned I run $250+ Geissele triggers in my rifles and I only needed the lower parts for spares, he told me that his $90 Rock River would walk circles around a Geissele. These guys are taking advantage of uninformed first time gun buyers and people looking for a “quick fix”If you’re having an issue with your firearm, avoid this place, contact the manufacturer, you’ll be happy you didn’t leave your firearm here.

Similar experience as many others. Took them a barrel for a 30.06 rebuild. They popped out the stuck round but didnt touch it for the year they had it. Kept getting the another month runaround. Finally just took my barrel and settled up for the round they cleared. Look, if you cant or dont want to do it, just let me know. Just dont waste my time. never again.

This place is absolutely horrible. I am the owner of alpha Tactical LLC in New Albany Indiana and while I was in this store, I seen prices that where outrageous. Almost 50 dollars for blazer 9mm ammo, 25 dollars for pmc .223 and every accessory they had in the store was made in China and shipped here for next to nothing and then listed for about 3 to 10 times its actual face value. They literally had slings from wish.com that you can buy for $3 to $5 listed for $45 not to mention the quality of their custom gunsmithing is horrendous the barrels that they use on all of their builds are cheap and not even melanated let alone chrome lined they charge $450 for an upper you can buy online for $250 this place is all about profit and not about customer service. While I was in the store I heard their gunsmith lie to a customer and tell them that they are the only operation like this meaning gunsmith within a 500 mile radius of Louisville Kentucky and out of respect because I was in there building I did not call him on his blatant lie and tell him that I am a certified gunsmith who operates out of New Albany Indiana because I did not want to steal their customer but to give you an example of what they do the gentleman he was talking to had a Marlin model 60 22 caliber rifle that was messing the trigger assembly and was rusted he was going to charge that man $145 to pit a trigger assembly in... He charged him almost 50 dollars the the trigger assembly.. if you want low quality AR builds overpriced gunsmithing then go to this store. To put things in perspective and to equate their prices to the working class individual lets say the average person makes 350 a week after taxes at their job that would buy you seven boxes of 9 mm at this store...

The only place to buy a gun in Louisville by far. The staff are informative and well trained and easy going and willing to spend time with even the newest of gun owners to help them with their purchase. With gun smith on sight who the local SWAT team goes to for help for repair I am told, they provide the most insight into what you are buying and able to put things in laymen terms to those of us who are not gun savvy.

Happy with the quality of work but not happy with the 42 days it took to complete the job and when I called them one week before it was finish I asked them how much it was going to cost and when the guy told me to hold on and and then came back and said it would be under $50 for sure but I just pick my gun up the other day it cost me $69 so not too happy about that it seems like theres several people running the show and they get their wires crossed and dont realize it I guess but wasnt worth the argument...

I have been looking forever for a lightweight holster for my Ruger 9mm SR9c with an extended clip. I wanted something that people would not notice when I carried. They had exactly what I needed/wanted!! It clips on your pants and the gun goes inside your waistband. I had sweats on, put my gun in, clipped it on and wore home. I almost forgot it was there, it was so lightweight and comfortable!!

I took my upper reciever up there to have my compensator put on, since I needed a crush washer. While I was there, Trevor explained to me how to properly use an adjustable gas block. He also offered to go ahead and check head spacing, change the gas tube, and torque the barrel nut down, all for a very reasonable price.

Took a brand new Model 70 Super Grade in to have the trigger lightened. They did lighten the trigger, but the action screws and the metal around the screws were corroded after they were done. My guess is that the screwdriver used to loosen the screws had some type of caustic on the end. When they loosened my screws it transferred to them and the surrounding metal. I dont believe it was intentional, but it really messed up my gun. I never said anything about it, I couldnt prove it and how could they fix it, re-blue my new gun? That would only decrease the value even more. Live and learn.

Poor selection and cheap Chinese accessories at a substantial mark up. Magazines are at about twice normal pricing and ammo is laughably priced with 115gr 9mm ball ammo at $43 for 50 round, and 55gr M193 ball 5.56 at $24 for 20. Price gouging is in full effect.

Bought a rifle at a pawn shop and found that there was a screw broken off in one of the scope mount holes. Took it in to have them drill it out and retap the hole. They drilled down maybe 1/16, had to cut the new screw off because it was too long and said that it was fixed. I ended up taking the gun to an actual gunsmith. He sent the barrel off to the manufacturer and they replaced it with a new barrel. The manufacturer said that there was no way the other place would have been able to fix the issue.

Wanted my Baretta 391 cleaned. The charge, first $45, then the boss said its $50. I picked up my gun a couple of days later. When I removed the extended choke it sound sandy. I mentioned it to the salesman. He said thats normal. After getting back to Michigan for a shoot I realized, although the gas valve looked spotless, it had not been disassembled and cleaned internally. Gosh, I can do that.Dont go there to have your gun cleaned. I wish I could get of my money back. :(

This place is great, I went in to have a new front sight put on my 1911 and while working on my gun they noticed that the hammer fell when racking the slide. I asked how much it would cost to fix it, and the guy said, let me just take it in the back and see what I can do. He fixed a spring, and charged me nothing for it. Thank you for noticing an issue with my gun that could have resulted in accidental discharge of the firearm, and thank you for fixing it. I will always bring my firearms to these guys in the future. Good friendly people, I sometimes feel out of place in gun stores because I am not military or police and I look kind of like a hippy, but I felt comfortable in the store because the staff was engaging and friendly.

I took in a lever action rifle for a hammer spring adjustment. Was told to check back in 2 weeks which I did; was told it was ready. Showed up at the store and 15 minutes later the clerk came back with the gun. The hammer had not been touched. I showed him; a little embarrassed, he took it back to the workshop and came back with it 15 minutes later, adjusted.I realize 2 weeks isnt long for my piece to get to the head of the line to get worked on. But a little quality control, which Id expected for a high volume gunsmithing operation like this, was not in place. For safety if for nothing else, a shop should KNOW what works been done to a firearm and whether its complete and checked out.Another time, I needed a hammer retaining screw for a T/C Hawken. The square shouldered flat head screw that came on the gun matches the period. I was having something else done to the gun so I asked them to fix that at the same time. When I got the gun back, it had a torx head screw on it. Now thats a far better engineered fastener, and maybe I should have been more specific, but who in the world would put that kind of screw on a replica of an 1830s era firearm.

I have done business with them for 20 years seems if you dont buy the world they dont care about your business never will i take a firearm there again but they dont really care. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FIREARM HERE for service of ANY kind unless you wanna wait a minimum of 6 weeks for it to be completed. I purchased a brand new Brigadier Beretta somewhere else and i brought it in to have all steel parts, which i ordered from Wilson Combat beforehand, and Trijicon night-sights installed. After 3 weeks went by I called to check on its status. I was told theyd check and call me back. After not receiving a call I tried again a week later and he said the same thing and hung up on me. I called again on week 4 and was adamant that he figured it out while i was on the phone. He checked and told me it was on Trevors table. A week rolled by and i decided to surprise them since i was in the neighborhood and see what the hell was going on. It took them 5 MINUTES to even locate the gun in the store and when they came out he said it was on TREVORS desk again. I replied sarcastically, wow, he must be really taking his time on it given it should only take an hour to do the work cuz thats where i was told it was when i called a week ago. He had no reply to that and said itd be by the end of the week. Well, another week passed and I had enough of their bull**** so i drove back to get it outta there and after they fumbled around looking for it for another 5 minutes. They came out and told me Trevor was out to lunch and it was, of course, on his desk. One word sums these guys up. IDIOTS! On a side note, I then took my beretta to Genesys Tactical in Crestwood and he got it done in 3 days. And when i told him this story he informed me that he heard through the grapevine that they are now doing all the recall repairs for Remington in the area which explains why they are swamped. Having this contract is good for them but apparently bad for local customers. STAY AWAY from here!!!
