Terrible customer service.We reserved a one way truck online (which apparently they don’t do at this location). We were informed we had to drive 20 miles to another location to pick up our truck. The workers at most had a shoulder shrug for this major inconvenience.Not sure how it’s the customer responsibility to correct an internal mistake. Had they had a bit of empathy or made an attempt to assist us in handling this issue, I would not be writing this review.Do not recommend this location at all.
Pretty terrible service. Want to move? Set a reservation a week or two ahead of your actual move time, so that they can cancel your reservation 3 or 4 times. They dont know what a reservation means and WILL cancel it.
Horrible-Zero Customer Service Here!I reserved a 15 truck for 10/16/2020. My confirmation email indicated I would have the truck from 8am to 6pm. I elected to use the automated pickup and assumed this meant I would not need to go into the store based on the information online. I arrived at the location and started the process on my phone. When I was given the trucks ID number, I could not find the truck and went into the store to ask. The associates in the store told me that my rental would be by the loading docks and pointed at the side of the building. I asked if I could leave my SUV parked where it was for the day. He said yes. The truck was not at the loading docks, but I saw several of this type of truck parked in a back yard. I walked down there and continued the check in process on my phone. While I was fumbling with this, an associate came running down to where I was. When I asked him if he was there to give me a key, he said no that the app would tell me to come in the store for that, got in the truck next to the one I reserved and drove away. I walked back up to the store and told them that I was struggling to get the boxes checked on my phone. The manager said he could override it and told me to step over to where he was. He completed the online process for me and said he needed the truck back at noon. I explained that my email confirmation said the return time was 6pm. I offered to show him this confirmation. He said I dont need to see it. I have a rez on this truck at noon - it has to be back by then. - I told him to cancel the whole thing. He was happy to do that. I asked if he was the manager and he said he was. When I asked who I could take the concern up with at UHaul he said you can call 1800goUhaul I said... wow OK - that is what I will do.Before I left the store I remembered that I had not asked his name. He said Its on the door and you can see it on your way out!I called immediately to issue a complaint. I was told a manager would contact me in 24-48 hours. Today, one week later, I called as I had not heard from anyone. I was told that my complaint had been marked complete. That they had spoken to Justin (the manager) who provided the details and cleared it up. When I explained that I had not been contacted, I was placed on hold and then told that they had given my contact information to Justin to contact me about the complaint, that the complaint had been assigned to him according to their policy.I have already called 2 Men and a Truck for my needs and I would not recommend this UHaul location to anyone that wants to be treated with respect.
Highway robbery as they put you over a barrel for tolls already paid. Not willing to provide enough time to dispute their error, and will threaten administration fees on their error.
Terrible service! Went there 4 times (45 min one way) and still don’t have my hitch installed properly, cables installed wrong and my lights don’t work!!! I was waiting for months giving them a chance. Called them over 10 times and still cannot set new appointment, nobody called me back!! They have no clue what are they doing! Terrible terrible terrible!!!Just call me back with new appointment or l want my money back!!!
Made an appointment to have a hitch and wiring harness installed on my 2013 Toyota Sienna Van. After the hitch was installed they called me to say they do not have a wiring harness that works. If I knew they couldnt wire it I wouldnt have had them install the hitch! They should have called me prior to the hitch installation to let me know that.

Justin and Craig were very helpful with a difficult delivery and a total screw-up on Uhaul Denvers part. My uboxes were delivered after hours on the 15th and Justin, Craig, and another guy made an extra effort to ensure that my move-in on the 16th with my movers would happen. They had to maneuver a very difficult driveway without hitting a retaining wall and other vehicles (which took considerable effort and time). Very impressed with their combined effort- it went quite a ways to make my Uhaul experience better after the earlier fiasco. Kudos and many thanks to Justin and his crew for a job well done!
Called and talked to the guy at this location asking about a specific item I was looking for. The guy said they sell them and have them in stock. Was driving to the store as we were talking. Again told me the forest hills location. When I got there he said they didn’t stock that item and that I was talking to corporate. Completely lied to me on top of telling me I could rent a car trailer using the 10’ truck which turned out to be false. I do not recommend this location at all. I worked there years ago and the professionalism has diminished.
Good sturdy trailers. safe they have their own braking system if you need to haul a heavy load. the staff at this building was most helpful. I suggest you go in a week ahead of time and have them inspect your vehicle to make certain its ready to pull the trailer you have chosen
Being an apartment renter most of my life. I have moved more then my share of times.(14x in 20yrs) I have used Zach and his team every time. I have a cross country move coming up and I cant imagine using anybody else. Also their boxes and packing accessories are amazing. Boxes form my first move are still holding up.
Never again will I use uhaul this was the worst service I have ever dealt with. I was lied to and the workers were so rude.
Our truck was kind of crappy. They secure a dolly and extra moving blankets in the back of the truck so if you use them or move them you will be charged- I wish we would have had them removed before we left because we could have used the extra space and we didnt need them. Also they had us sign papers saying that the truck had a half gallon of gas in it before we even saw the truck- it was closer to a quarter tank when we left and didnt notice until we had already left. It was our fault for not checking but we were in a rush because we were moving. The kids working were helpful enough but I would not use this U-Haul again.
I had a great experience with this store using the U-Boxes for moving to CA. I had one weeks notice about prior to needing the U-Boxes. This location didnt have any on-hand, but arranged for four to be brought over from another location.Michael spent about an hour with me to secure the boxes after getting some push-back from other U-Haul locations. Zach was helping me hook up the trailers on moving day, and always had the next empty box ready for me despite the place being very busy that day.U-boxes arrived in CA exactly when they were supposed to. Couldnt recommend this location any more. Great customer service.
Justin is a very nice guy the team was great customer service got my tank filled in and out quick and easy they make good conversation while filling your tank will definitely come back
These folks are great helped us replace the tire straps on the tow dolly that busted within the first real day of travel.The folks on the roadside assistance 800 number Erin and Joanna where awesome and helpful too. Thank you for taking good care of us Uhaul!!

Tried buying hitch from Justin Ring at uhaul. Wouldnt return phone call about install... finally got tired of being ignored and drove to the loves park Illinois facility to be told they havent received my hitch. He tried to down grade me to a class 3 hitch (I ordered a class 4) that was $60 more than the class 4. He laughed in my face. Dont buy from this guy!
I cant tell you how happy I am with the staff at U-Haul on Forest Hills! I came in to get a trailer mount and hitch put on and they were booked solid with appointments for three days. The manger, Zach, took it upon himself to stay later than he was supposed to and got me in right then and there! He got the job done and Im towing my trailer with no issues.Big thanks to them for getting me on the road!!! Very happy.
I pre-paid for a hitch on Thursday, June 6th 2019 and scheduled an installation on June 14th, 2019 at Loves Park U-Haul Moving and Storage. On the day of the install I took the car in and dropped it off. The team there seemed generally confused about what was going on. They also did not understand that I pre-paid until I explained it to them. I left the car and keys to them and took an Uber home so I could get some work done (work from home). When I got home, I get a call from a person at Uhaul saying they cannot find the hitch I prepaid and ordered even though someone signed for it there. I asked why they didn’t look for it prior to my arrival but they said they never thought of doing this and they probably should have. Additionally, they took the attitude that they were the victim in the situation which was very frustrating. So, I got another Uber ride to go pick up my car with no hitch. They said they would order another one but it would be a few days.Now I am getting calls about every other day saying they don’t know where the 2nd hitch is. They have a tracking number but don’t understand what is going on with it. I am not sure what to do. They have my money and I have wasted a ton of time on this project. I could have had this installed 3 X by now without so much cost to myself in rides and time. I am now on the phone trying to talk to a real person, I cannot even call the Loves park office as it directs me right back to corporate. I suggest that you look elsewhere for a hitch. They need some customer service training.
Have rented from here twice with a good experience both times. Good customer service.Although there are many places to rent their trucks in Rockford, this is the only company-run facility. Although I have only needed to rent trucks from here, there are a wide range of accessories available for rent to help one in the moving process (boxes, dollies, etc).
Great service here, rented a trailer. Very kind helpful staff, terms and conditions very transparent and clearly explained. Nice folks here.
The Van I rented was nice, brand new. But way too expensive for what I needed it for. ($50) to move a bed?? WOW. Advertises $19.95 to rent. (Dont tell you about the .79 cents per mile) AND YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR GAS. Whats the .79 cents per mile for? JOKE!! And when you get your estimated price, ($60) bring it back to check out for a final price of ($50), they keep the difference for a few days before it goes back into your account. Dislike! Then when I called to ask, I was hung up on!
Terrible service. NEVER TRUST THE RESERVATION! We arrived to find no trailer like we reserved. No competition for having to get a small open trailer. Literally everyone in line was unable to get the equipment they reserved. For your hauling needs, dont depend on this Uhaul dealer or Uwill be stuck stranded!
Ill NEVER use Uhaul again after 2 wasted trips. Both times, after reserving over the phone, there was charges that was NOT mentioned over the phone. Wasted my time and also wasted the time of the guy I was getting a tv from. Pathetic.
DO NOT EVER ALLOW THIS COMPANY TO DO ANY WIRING WORK ON YOUR CAR!! They did a trailer hitch and wiring (?) on my vehicle which shorted out my entire electrical system. it has been over 2 wks since this started and I have been without a car the entire holiday season. ONce this issue was diagnosed by the dealer and my car was totally out of commission, they referred me to their insurance company to resolve the issue. The insurance company did accept responsibility ($900 for repairs, which I was told was forthcoming over a week ago but have yet to see) but would only cover the damage caused by the Uhall rep and would not make good on the trailer lighting issue and referred me back to Uhall for reimbursement of the fees paid for the installation. I was jacked around for another week or so with unreturned calls and emails and told finally that they would only reimburse me if I allowed them to do further work on my car....NO WAY was I going to allow this and when I asked to speak to a manager above Stephanie, I was told that the dealer had handed me a line or garbage by the regional rep who was sooo rude and would not give me his name or his managers name either...I finally told them it wasnt worth my time or the minimal amount they would reimburse me to be further insulted or possible further damage to my 2 yr old car with only 15k miles on it. DO NOT USE THEM!
After talking to an agent in Texas verifying that my rental was ready to be pick up on Sunday july 15 . i came to pick it up and the attendant told me they didnt have are truck at the location. No one call to inform me of the location and send us about 2 extra miles to pick up the truck instead of them make the truck availableat the initial location.bad customer services

Call and reserve a truck... Get there less than 30 minutes later and theres a line of two other people stressed out asking about thier rental trucks. Never again
Made an appointment to have trailer hitch installed. Approximately 15 minutes after making the appointment I received a phone call to cancel the appointment as they dont have a technician to do the installion and wont be able to do it for an additional 5 days at the earliest.
