Wonderful atmosphere, quality coffee, and friendly service. Will visit this coffee shop again when we visit Lubbock.

Well its coffee and tea, how bad you have to be to screw it up. Today everyone seems to be serving coffee and or tea, even McDonalds is serving fancy coffee. So it comes down to the experience. Sure you can go the Starbucks, but is there any personality? Here at J&B its got that family feeling. It has that come firm the coffee stay for a conversation with you family and friends.. This location was packed thy have a huge seating section in the front and the then have a back room. Oh and you can get a bite to eat as well.

Friendly little Cafe, neat place to hang out with friends or just to get a cup of coffee to read a book. Located in a little plaza with limited parking spaces. There a few little boutique shops in the same place, grab a coffee and walk around to see if you can find something special for yourself.They sell variety of roasted beans in the Cafe to take home for you to enjoy at your own comfort.I usually go for a latte when try new places, this is my first visit here during college visit. The roast a little on the light note, I usually prefer medium to dark roast. Just personal preference.

Most helpful and greatest variety of the best coffees in Lubbock. We are new to craft coffee brewing & drinking, so I was looking for some advice and to get pointed in the right direction. I stopped in their shop and they took about 20 minutes explaining the different roast and origins of their coffees . This is the only shop in Lubbock where I could buy as little as 1/4 pound at a time. They also offered to grind it appropriately for the style of coffee maker we had. My wife enjoys a nice light roast without any bitterness so they recommended 4 different coffees for us to try. It is great to be able to get some solid recommendations from experienced baristas and not have to buy a pound not knowing if you are going to like it or not. If you like to try some new coffee, they make it easy.

Wow, yesterday was my first time going to J & B’s coffee but I love the atmosphere of the coffee shop. The staff was welcoming, patient and helpful.I got the wedding cake cold brew with oat milk! The cold brew was 10/10 would definitely recommend. We also found out that the ice tea has free refills which is really generous. Get studying spot!

Their coffee isnt great, and I didnt like the London fog. But the reason Im giving them five stars because they have a great chai tea latte and great cold black tea with unlimited refills. The atmosphere is also really nice, and the staff is very welcoming.

Great atmosphere for a college town. Lots of people studying. The coffee is great! It does get crowded in there and you may not find a seat.

This place is great for coffee and other drinks of course! Great for studying or working on a laptop as well! My only complaint they should remedy is there is only one restroom! Please, please install another single user restroom!!

Coffee is delicious. I’ve had their cappuccino and iced oat milk lattes and recommend both. The atmosphere is chill and perfect for having a light conversation over a cup of coffee or to study. A must visit every time I’m in town.

Better than a Starbucks, but not a great coffee shop either.They cant make a pour over and the specialty bean coffee made with a French Press was just OK. Ive had better coffee in Dallas, Plano and Galveston.Also, the food options for breakfast are limited and not great - sugary packaged oatmeal, no whole wheat bagels, etc.

My wife and one of our daughters, a Tech student, encouraged me to visit J&B’s. Their legendary chocolate muffins and blueberry muffins had sold out quickly, but our youngest daughter thoroughly enjoyed a raspberry scone! Their coffee products are fresh and flavorful, the staff is friendly and then there’s the relaxed Tech Terrace vibe, not to mention its close proximity to campus.

J & B Coffee is always fabulous! I especially love all of their awesome tea blends. The service there never fails to be fast and extremely polite! I never miss a chance to visit whenever I am in Lubbock!

It’s a great place to meet and get coffee. The parking is rough, but that’s not J&B’s fault. Inside is cool, dry, and clean. The service is quick and friendly. They were helpful and great. Go here!

Totally recommend. First time I came, I did have to wait about 30 minutes for my food, but that was because it was the girls first day, and they gave me a free coffee card for my next visit (super kind!). Came back the next day, got my food immediately and it’s delicious! Coffee is great too. Great atmosphere in the back for studying

Comfortable, affordable, and what every neighborhood coffee house should be. Great coffee and snacks/sandwiches accompanied with an excellent area to study, relax, or hang out. There are couchs, short tables, tall bar tables, and plenty of outlets. Wifi is excellent and free. There will be plenty of college aged students here as well as local folks alike. Open till 10pm most days. This in one of my favorite go to coffee houses in Lubbock, TX

We recently started getting coffee here. Its great! But oh my goodness does it get PACKED during the morning! So if youre in a rush, better make sure you have the time lol

Great little local coffee shop!

The staff was extremely rude towards us... we called in a order and when we got there we called again to ask if they wanted us to come in because there were no parking spots, and when we got there we were told different things where to stand and we could have went to a different spot. What they said was not rude but the way the two men said it to us was almost down grading and rude... great coffee and we have been coming for a few years now but we have never been treaded like this...

The back room is quiet for conversations

I loveeee J&B Coffee! I got a punch card so every time I go I get closer to a free drink! Little pricey but nothing too insane, and long hours make for a great study session! Theyre also close enough to Texas Tech to where youd be able to walk there and back without being exhausted. Love em!!

Every time I went there, tried a new coffee! Yesterday I tried the latte with Toasted marshmallow flavor & they just made it so perfect as I wanted! Another thing I love that place about is the interior & exterior decoration! A lovely place overall❤️

J&B Coffee is a locally owned institution, and serves as an extension of Texas Tech, down Boston Ave from the University on 26th Street in a great little pocket of Tech Terrace. A great coffee option for events with gallon preorders. They provide cups and lids!

Excellent place to study. Bring your laptop and enjoy high speed wifi. I believe they have a quiet area in the back but I like to drink my coffee and read my notes in the main lobby while listening to the soft music play.

Just passing through on a road trip and found this place the most attractive from other reviews read.Grabbed a taste test if there Dark drip of the day Brazil. It was a mild dark, not over roasted with slight smokey taste and medium- low acidity.We asked if they served affogata...although they hadnt ever heard of it before, they NAILED it!!! Great creamy vanilla ice cream with a perfect espresso flavor complement!!!If accustomed to good quality coffee in a local coffee bar with personality, theyve got your spot.P.s. Thank you for giving my wife her new favorite place since Sweet Rose in Santa Monica, CA! Top marks.

Always make it a point to stop at J&B. Its a staple of the Tech campus area. The coffee is always great and somehow they always manage to find the friendliest employees!

So good. Caramel cowboy was really delicious. My wife got the chocolate and cayenne drink. Cant remember what it was called, but it was pretty tasty. Theyre practicing social distance and mask rules.

Grew up in Lubbock (97-09) but didnt actually step foot into J&B until last week. The first thing you need to know is that you have a high chance of running into someone you know here, because its quite popular.I really enjoyed the ambience. Its a great place to study, catch up with friends, go on a casual date. Hipster vibes that thats all coffee shops right? They have a lot of different types of seating areas. They have a very cute and creative menu that feels really easter-eggy to a Lubbock local.My friend got the hot chocolate and I got their chai latte. The chai is pretty decent for Lubbock. Hot chocolate was solid. Staff is friendly and nice.I would definitely come back again. J&B is one of those classic Lubbock local establishments. Come check it out if you like supporting small businesses.

Its a popular place here in Lubbock. It is common to come to J&B to work and hang out with friends. It is a comforfable place, its not the cheapest for pour graduate students but at least its affordable.

Great coffee shop due to location, atmosphere, and quality of coffee. My only dislike is their stance on not allowing firearms for licensed carriers. I realize that this is pandering to the clientele that makes up their core customers, but it is disappoint just the same. Due to this, I rarely go there anymore. It is too bad. I always used to carry in their establishment, and it was never a problem. If you hate guns and love coffee, you will be happy here. If you love 2A, you will find the rejection far more bitter than the coffee.

2/3 times I have gone my order hasnt been correct even though I order the same kind of frappe. Drip coffee is good and well brewed. Unsure if there is a system in place for reminding workers of what was ordered but I think the details get muddled or lost in translation from register to barista. UPDATED: Went back and it was fixed after much discussion.

Love everything! Food, coffee, bulk items, shakes! A bit on the pricey side, but 10/10 worth it.

Nice airy space with friendly & attentive staff. By the way, their coffee is excellent as well. Glad to see they’re open after all the COVID stuff, but we are still adhering to the social distancing guidelines.

Best coffee shop vibe in Lubbock

Went there today at the recommendation from a coworker. I was just standing off to the side trying to get a look at the menu when one of the employees was so incredibly rude and told me to get to the back of the line. I was just trying to see what was on the menu before I went to the back of the line. I was NOT trying to cut anyone, I’m not in first grade. I have a hard time seeing things at a distance and was trying to figure out what I wanted to order so I knew what I wanted before I got to the register since it was so busy. I ended up leaving because I didn’t appreciate being spoken to that way.

It has been a long time since I give a bad review. It took them 35+ minutes to prepare my order on a not so busy Saturday morning.Customer service needs to be improve specially for those that are not familiar with types of products and drinks. Not very friendly staff from what I saw... Was going to give them one star, but I do know that their products are great and I did enjoy what I got to go... 3 stars is a generous rating based on this visit.

This is a great coffee shop with a good atmosphere. They have a couple of faux leather chairs and a couch, some booths, a middle island and some separate tables. There’s also Ana tea in the back that has no music and is easier to study etc.

Good coffee, but not necessarily an enjoyable place to spend time. There is not enough sound dampening, so it can get very loud. Additionally, there are very few comfortable places to sit. I prefer coffee shops that have an intimate, warm environment. J&B does not have that environment, so its not for me.

Great service, good coffee/tea. Just need baristas to communicate to customers whos coffee, beverage(s) are whos more often to create and have less confusion.Otherwise, good cozy place to have coffee/tea/scones. Love that the place is local and money stays local.

Went in for two lattes and the barista became very alarmed as I approached the register. Told me to step behind the red line. I understand the health issue. So I order from behind the line. The young lady behind me ordered and was face to face with the cashier. In some way she was better than me and was accepted beyond the line just inches from her face. I havent felt that embarrassed in a long time.

Worst coffee shop Ive ever been to.Ive been here 2 different times and each time Ive gotten AWFUL service the staff were rude and they messed up my order. The food was not fresh at all the people making orders were not wearing gloves.The bathroom was atrocious and the whole place is just TERRIBLE.Go to Starbucks instead

We absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is fun & vibrant, not your normal quiet coffee shop by far. Tons of young college students hangout here and just add to the upbeat vibe of this place.Not only is the atmosphere fun, but the coffee is superb and the menu keeps you wanting to try something new and different every time. Grab a coffee to go or sit and enjoy this fun place.

I love going in this place every time I am in Lubbock. A local hangout for Tech Kids. The coffee and teas are just superb. The wait staff is just top notch. Lots of comfy seating area. Just a bright cozy place for a good cup of coffee

J&B is a Lubbock mainstay---and for good reason. The drinks are good, and the food they have (pastries and hot food) is great. Expect Starbucks-like pricing and a very college atmosphere. The hours are the best in town, but during peak study times, its going to be a long wait, and you might not find seating.

This place is really amazing. We are from out of town and great reviews lead us here. They were incredibly busy but moved through the line like pros. Very flavorful well brewed coffee. Highly recommend!

A very fine cup of coffee with the local students and hipsters. Not a terrible way for an old nerd to spend an evening on occasion, but not my go-to choice either. Great for the odd one-on-one meeting with a colleague or confidant.

Excellent experience. The space is large and well lit. The mixed woods and industrial light features make it feel intimate. The coffee selection is large with a specialty drink menu, like the Caramel Cowboy or other Texas Tech themed beverages. They also have a food menu. They have breakfast bagels, sandwiches, and baked goods. Service is fast and the baristas are knowledgeable. Will definitely be back soon! Another plus: they are open on Sunday morning!!

J & B is a great coffee house. Great employees, great atmosphere and GREAT coffee. Unlike their competitor from Seattle, they dont cut corners. They take the time to make sure each cup of coffee is a great cup of coffee. Lots of seating and a pleasant environment. With a wide variety of customers. Business people, retired individuals and Texas Tech students. I have met clients there multiple times for meetings. If you want a great cup of coffee in Lubbock, this is your place.

Shop was cute, nice space to hang or study! My iced Coffee was underwhelming, although my brother loved his pressed hot coffee!Im used to heavy cream and stevia products of which they had none! This affects my rating.

Tried the John Toddy iced coffee but with sugar free hazelnut syrup. Quite delicious.
