I came with my parents both elderly, at the time my dad had just been told he had cancer. Long story short, he had a massive stroke. Last thing on my mind was his glasses. I never picked them up, I tried to get a refund but they didnt care about that at all. Their policy said no refunds and i get that, but to just not have human care for their clients is disrespectful to anyone. I will take my business elsewhere where even though they more thN likely wont miss it at all!!
They run very efficiently. Wait time 5 minutes. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Doctor took time with me to answer all questions. I also appreciate cash pay discount.
Everyone was super friendly. Dr Vaughn explained everything and was patient and courteous. the technician had my insurance print out and went step by step. Yes they push designer frames but we talked and found something for my son and myself. He’s trying his contacts and we will be back! Great experience
I need more stars for this review. Everyone there has been amazing! I went to them for help with getting laser eye surgery. They have done my pre-op and post-op care. The doctors Ive seen (Barclay and Spencer) were both helpful and knowledgeable. Evie is wonderful! She is so great at explaining everything and making you feel at ease! Im so glad I went to them for my eyes.
I gave this four stars because of the lack of budget frames. The salesman was quick to try and get me in Gucci, Tom Ford, and Oakley, but it was a struggle to find budget friendly frames even outside of those brands. But I did find a pair I liked with for a good price. Other than that everyone was super helpful. The gentleman that helped me pick out my frames was super knowledgeable and made sure I knew all my options and other services they offer when it comes to my lenses. He even changed the cushions on my old glasses for me without me asking. If you have a little extra money to spend, this is definitely your place to visit.

I have been to Ginter Eyecare on two different occasions. Each time I have been greeted with kindness. My eye exams were swift and completed in a timely manner. When being seen by the provider, they are easy going, polite, and very helpful in explaining any new information related to my vision. I recently switched providers after seeing the same vision provider for close to 6 years, and I couldn’t be happier.
Prescription for glasses and contacts kept in a sealed and locked vault that nobody has the key for unless you are purchasing directly from them. Their run around game is very very strong.
I was a patient at Ginter Eyecare for several years before moving away from Lubbock, and always experienced great care and service, with all the latest technology and thorough doctors..so when I recently returned to Lubbock I didn’t hesitate to call Ginter Eyecare when it was time for my annual exam. Dr. Barclay was very nice and thorough, and all the staff were friendly. Reasonable fees and will file on your insurance. The new facility is very modern and beautiful!

Worst place ever, even with blue cross blue shield their frames are hella expensive! May ins paid around 200 for frames and they insisted on Oakley‘s when all I wanted were cheap non brand frames! They even tried adding ALL options to frames w/ out my consent I had to tell em to remove after I reviewed myself. Then they deleted my phone number so i never got a sms notification when my frames were ready. By all means if you have money they smell it on you and try to squeeze every dime outta you. The eye drs, they are awesome though!!
The staff was super friendly, the doctor was very informative and it was obvious he truly cared about the well-being of my eyesight, especially with me being diabetic. The consultant was very helpful when allowing me to see which frames would be the best for me. The receptionist at the end had a great personality and was very professional. Overall, it was a great experience.
All of the folks at Ginter are so helpful!! From the first visit with an eye exam all the way through the process of picking up the final product!!Adam in the frames department, worked with the doctor and went the extra mile to make sure I had the right prescription so it would work for viewing my computer monitors! Hands down the best eye care service Ive had in my 15 yrs of wearing glasses and I would strongly recommend them to anyone who like me, needs their sight for their career and just for everyday life in general they are phenomenal! I felt like my doctor spent above and beyond the time he had to— just to make sure my RX was spot on. He tried several ways- I I didn’t have anxiety like I sometimes do at the eye dr (1 or 2) !!!!!!!No, I was given sufficient time and ways to make a confident decision and never felt pressure to hurry up and be consistent.This doctor felt my “pauses” and zeroed in on them. He was able to make sure of my accurate RX and we both left the room feeling confident that my answers were the right ones

The exam is always quite thorough and efficient. New optometrist this time and was easily the quickest exam in my life.Shopping for glasses in the Covid world is difficult, because every time you look at a pair of glasses they take it and decontaminate, so you feel like you’re an inconvenience to them.
The ladies at the front desk were somewhat friendly, the optometrist was nice and explained to me about my vision and eyes. The eyeglasses technician that took me to see the frames was rude and hateful like he was in a hurry to get me out of there. The ladies in the back where I paid were very professional and nice.

We took our 18 month old to Ginter and Dr. Spencer helped us. Everyone was so patient and understanding. Our daughter wasn’t the most cooperative at first but they continued to try and were finally successful in getting her eye exam. He even went back and checked again after his first exam to make sure because she was finally calm. We appreciate everyone that helped us. Just roll right on by if you want anything you buy to show up within 14 days after being told 4-5. Every time! The longest fulfillment times of any optician in the area. The only guarantees in life are dying, paying taxes and Ginter Eye Care taking at least 2 weeks to get you glasses.

Dr. Camacho is a great person to see. He was very helpful with all of my questions and made me feel at home (not many people have that gift) and I am so greatly appreciative of him and his knowledge. Definitely a wonderful rep for the company. The young lady that helped was extremely helpful and kind. She showed great customer service (which again nowadays is hard to find) and was so sweet! Another wonderful rep for the company! Go see them TRUST ME! You won’t be disappointed. 😁

The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is the rush to pick out glasses after my exam and the price of the glasses I did look at. I purchased my glasses elsewhere. The doctor and staff on the exam side were fabulous.
Staff was nice Ill give them that, but I decided not to purchase glasses from here because with insurance i couldnt afford it. The lowest price was $240.00. When I went to another location that I could afford they told me that I needed to contact Ginter and needed to ask them to release my benefits. It was showing as if I had purchased glasses from them. I was also told that Ginter does this to all of their patients. Im definitely never going back.Instead of apologizing you could stop screwing people over. That would be great. I cant even get through on the phone because Im being asked for my phone number and pin, which I dont have and wasnt told anything about.Ginter has solved my issue and explained the release could have been done by the other place. Thank you.

My established eye doctor, who I have gone to for years and frequently recommended to other people, refused to care for me when I suffered an eye injury while caring for my patients in ICU. He explained to me that nurses who care for COVID patients posed a risk to him and his other patients so I was no longer welcome in his practice. He declined to assist me to transition to another doctor. He suggested that I “call around” to see if anyone would see me. (So much for my COVID ICU nurse superhero status!🤣) A friend recommended Ginter Eye Center. They had me in the office taking care of me within 2hours of me calling them! My care was excellent and thorough. My follow up care was just as excellent. I could not be happier with the service I received and the most excellent care!

Receptionist was fast, nurse that worked my chart up was super nice, sweet, patient, knowledgeable...and took her to time to explain what tests I was doing and what they would mean. Then Dr. Barclay came in and was extremely down to earth and thorough. He listened and answered, explained, and suggested. My first eye doctor in Lubbock and they did not disappoint! My last stop was the check out desk and she was fast and helpful! Recommend 10/10!
UPDATE: Ted reached out to us and had us come back in and the service was amazing! Ted really took care of us and apologized for the previous experience with sales guy, he was so patient and helpful in picking out our frames and answered any questions we had. So I can say our experience from start to end was amazing and would definitely continue to go to Ginter thanks to Ted and all the other workers for being amazing and handling our complaint with seriousness and taking care of the issue. I’m really picky about where I go to be seen. I really enjoy the service and expertise offered at Ginter.
This is the worst service I’ve received. I took the day off and traveled over an hour for this appointment at 1:40pm, which was confirmed for 3 days. I originally had booked an eye appointment at a different place, but canceled since ginter seemed to be a less frequented place. My first clue of them focusing on finishing rather than customer service was the initial diagnostic testing. I informed them I had contacts snd would need to remove them and they said they’d do the tests with them. So they did diagnostic testing with my contacts originally then asked me to remove them and re-did the tests. Then, in the middle of my eye appointment they said I’d have to pay out of pocket or reschedule. They escorted me from the exam room to the front reception area ame seemed very rushed and apathetic during their explanation. When I asked why, they said they couldn’t pull up my insurance benefits since I originally scheduled elsewhere. I wasn’t told of any issues before and I asked if I could contact the insurance company myself and they said no, I’d have to reschedule. I explained I didn’t have any more sick days off and needed the appointment. They said I’d have to reschedule but it couldn’t be that day. I contacted the insurance company and was able to get this cleared up within 15 minutes. When I tried to go back in, they had already closed for the day. The office staff did not seem remorseful or did not appear to care, even after explaining I drove over an hour for the appointment and could not take any more days off due to work. They seemed more concerned about closing rather than figuring this issue out. They wasted time, energy and gas in an already stressful time of the year and offered no solution other than an apathetic and dry “sorry”.Also, they’re responses are only for social media. Not once have they contacted me to correct the situation.
Dr. Spencer was so helpful and informative when I needed help with my vision. Larry was quick to help me find all the glasses I need as well. Great staff and service. So glad I came back to Ginter. I will never go anywhere else for my vision needs.

The staff and physicians are very professional and friendly! They did a great job and helped me with every step of the process in getting my new glasses! They explained everything in great detail and even gave me a copy of my prescription to go to another place to get my glasses, but I decided to get mine there anyway because they are higher quality and actually last, so that little bit higher price tag is 100% worth it when you can use the same frames multiple years in a row and just get new lenses placed. And the new facility is beautiful and helps to streamline everything.
The facility was nice. The eye doctor was in a rush but ok. It was the after care that I was highly disappointed with. Getting someone to call you back in a timely manner is almost impossible. Good luck getting someone on the phone when you call in general. Once they have your money, youre no longer a priority. Also note, their frames are all extremely expensive.

I had my first appointment at Ginter on 11-18-2020. I arrived early and staff got me in before my appointment time. The office and reception area were clean and nicely decorated and all staff were wearing masks.Megan assisted me with pre-testing, she was sweet and very professional. She made me feel right at home. Sometimes pre-testing can be a little nerve wracking but she did a fantastic job.The exam rooms are just as clean and nicely decorated as the rest of the office. Dr. Barclay came in and performed the remainder of the testing. This was by far the most high tech eye exam Ive ever had and felt like I was getting a top notch, cutting edge technology exam. Dr. Barclay is professional and thorough.Dr. Barclay recommended Biofinity monovision monthly lenses for me. Megan assisted with the fitting and vision tests afterwards.Ive tried lots of contacts in my time and I have never had a pair that corrected my vision as well as these do. My other issue with contacts is that in the past, I could always feel them on my eyes. With the Biofinity lenses, they are comfortable from the time I put them in until I take them out at night. Theres something to be said for that considering how vicious Lubbock winds can be. I actually look forward to putting them in every morning and for the first time in quite a while, I dont have to wear my glasses! I can wear my contacts all day at work looking at computer screens and have no issues using my cell phone.When I was ready to order, Megan called me with pricing options and took into account my vision insurance allowances. I ordered a years supply today!I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Ginter Eyecare Center to anyone I know and I will be a patient there for a long time to come.Many thanks to Dr. Barclay, Megan and the rest of the staff for a world class experience!
This exams are thorough and you can really tell they care about your vision. The office is clean. The staff is very polite and helpful. The only improvement would be to open another location. More folks deserve care like this.

Ive been going to Ginter for years. I moved to Dallas a few years ago, and quickly realized how much I really missed the quality and technology I got from Ginter. Since I have family here, I decided to make an appointment for my yearly exam. The staff is always super nice. Today I had Theo as my technician and saw Dr. Vaughn. The ladies in the contact and frames dependings were also very helpful. It was my first time aybthe new location, and seeing Dr. Vaughn, but my fears were quickly put at ease as soon as we met and started talking. Always attentive, always thorough, and worth the money for your glasses and contact exams.
Been a loyal customer for years. Expensive but what isnt? Worth it for me though they do a great job and everyone has always been helpful. Beautiful new location and all my questions answered. Dr. Camacho did my last visit and he put me at ease (I get nervous when my eyes are being touched). Love it here. 👍

Great experience at Ginter Eyecare Center. I saw them back in 2015 and was way overdue for another eye exam. Their new location is gorgeous and very clean. The staff is very professional and friendly. I was taken back almost immediately after sitting down in the lobby. I did have to wait awhile to see the doctor but they were short handed that day so it was understandable. Loved the doctors, and felt like they explained things in detail and truly cared about my eyes! My only complaint is how expensive the lenses are. I ended up going somewhere else to purchase my frames and lenses because of that reason and spent 96 dollars less than I was quoted at Ginter. Other than that, great experience and I will definitely return again for my next eye exam!

I am very disappointed with the service after the sale. I understand the whole Covid 19 virus and the extra steps needed to protect them and us. My son that is 7 damaged his glasses and needed them adjusted. I went up there and they said they would not adjust them at the beginning of this pandemic. He gets very bad head aches with out them. So we made the glasses work. It is now the Friday that the Governor opened up Texas and they are open for business.. I called to make an appointment to get them adjusted. The said they are still not adjusting them. They are only taking new patients and eye exams. Sorry but you are working closer with those patients then you would my son. It would probably only take 10 minutes to adjust them. Guess since they already received our money then we can wait.

I was really impressed with how thorough the doctors were and that they took their time. I have been to other optometrists and ophthalmologists where the focus seemed to be more on how quickly they could get me through, after waiting 30-45 minutes AFTER my appt time just to start. At Ginter, I was brought back shortly after I checked in. All of the staff were really polite and professional, and I liked that they explained everything they were doing. I would (and have) highly recommend going here for your eye exams!

I was greeted by a friendly receptionist upon arrival. I found the paperwork online beforehand and gave it to her, and she directed me to the waiting room. I must have waited for no longer than three minutes when I was directed to the pre-testing center. After pre-testing, I waited for Dr. Barclay for about five minutes. He did the testing very quick, and he was clear in his instructions. He immediately gave me my results, and told me what my options were. I looked into both glasses and contacts, and both the contacts fitter and the glasses saleswoman had my best interest in mind. The entire experience took about 45 minutes, and that includes me being indecisive regarding glasses or contacts! 10/10 would definitely go back again.

I went to this eye doctor last year around July/August. Explained I was barely out of the hospital and had quite a lot going on, well I paid $10 for whatever reasons.. (Even though with my insurance, I should not have had to) to get one of my prescriptions for my left eye sent over to them. I was then supposed to receive a phone call when said prescription was ready but was NEVER contacted. I had a lot going on with my newborn baby I never had time to look into it. I thought I really enjoyed the place but disappointed to know they were not on top of things and I missed out on last years prescriptions. If you go here, it’s a wonderful place, sweet staff, just make sure YOU check in on anything because they however, won’t.
