I went in to buy shampoo and the store was fairly busy and lots of people inside but everyone was wearing a mask and all the employees were so nice. this is the only store ive been in where everyone wears a mask. for me, it is not political. im a nurse on a covid unit and seeing a store do this makes me feel like what ive been through at work is appreciated and validated. thank you for such a great experience in your store.
I went to Ulta today to buy perfume, since they always carry my absolute favorite, and their website said it was indeed in stock. I did find it, and another as well, but that success was tempered by the utter absence of anything approaching customer service. Multiple employees were around, and yet not a single one acknowledged me, asked if I had found what I needed, and so on. I tried to catch a couple of womens attention and had no success.You guys missed out on multiple additional potential sales from me, and I have to wonder how many youve missed out on with other customers. Your store is confusingly laid out with literally hundreds of products, and I cannot be the only person who would have benefited from a bit of knowledgeable help.Im giving you two stars because you did have the primary product I was looking for. But I wont be back. In looking at some older reviews I see that lack of customer service is an ongoing problem for this store, and I see no reason to pay a great deal of money on perfume or makeup at a business that doesnt want my custom.
After my experience today I must admit customer service was day and night different from my last visit here. and I can honestly say I’m extremely impressed. They are also extremely welcoming of service animals, and very kind towards their customers, and extremely knowledgeable. Thanks you guys for the wonderful experience 🖤

When ordering online I went to pick my order up and there are no signs for curbside pickup. So I went inside. When I walked inside I was grabbing my masked from my purse I was SCREAMED at you need a mask. I quietly said Im getting it the young lady screamed again at me and said put your mask on. I get your mask policy but first of all, I am an adult, I dont need a young girl screaming at me telling me to put a mask on me clearly while Im getting it out of my purse drawing attention to me. Secondly, if you offer curbside you need to have signs up in the parking lot. The staff definitely needs to have customer service training. This store LACKS customer service big time. They all hang out by the door. If anyone needs help you always have to go by the front door just to get someone to help you. Then they act like your interrupting them. I would rather go to Drug emporium where Im treated like Im wanted there instead of a burden.
No said a word. Just stood there talking but everyone else was greeted! No one asked if I needed help or anything! This is starting to feel like Sephora I went in about 7:15 pm tonight 7-20-21 so it was not busy! They all just stood by the door.
Went 20 minutes before closing time and they had doors locked. Also saw other people try to go in 10 minutes after me and doors locked. While workers looked around and said we are closed. So if they close at 6:30 then I understand but it said 7p.m.
I have been to this store many times and everyone is very welcoming and sweet. I love coming this store.
The ULTA in Lubbock is the only ULTA and hair salon, I have been that completely discriminates and avoids doing my hair. Twice I have made an appointment to do my hair to just be rudely told the quality of my hair and how they would not be able to do it. Yes, I have curly hair but it has NEVER required a silk press. The first appointment, I had to argue with the stylist and not only did she manage to prove my point that my hair is blow out capable but apparently she had written notes for next time. Second appointment which was suppose to be tomorrow, was canceled because of these notes. I had to argue with the stylist on the phone about my own hair and she just continue to tell me that it would take too long and cut into other peoples appointments. She tried to make it seem like as the customer I would not like the job that would be done, but I had assured her that would not be a problem and continued to defend my own hair. Other ULTAS I have gone to, have been able to dye, cut, blow out, and style my hair. The one in Lubbock extremely lacks customer service, work ethic, and professionalism. Disrespecting your client due to incapability to perform a job is no way to provide and expect adequate service to a DIVERSE population. The stylist have no right to be telling the client about their own hair due to their lack of ability to perform a job. I have never left a negative review for a company, but I should not have to feel bad about my hair because a stylist was not taught how to do it or know the different type of curly hair that do require a silk press. As a customer this makes me wonder if the stylist are really licensed, because training does include styling all types of hair.

Ulta has always been hit or miss for me. The staff seems to look at you as if saying why are you in here? They aren’t very helpful and tend to suggest low end items like I can’t afford to be in their store. I always research items online before I go in so I know exactly what I want. Went in Monday laser focused & at no time was I acknowledged. Finally the lady who was doing makeup for a client finished up & asked if I needed help. She was very kind & took me to what I was looking for. I spent a pretty good sum in the store & left. Honestly, this was probably my best experience ever at Ulta which isn’t saying much. Really most of what they carry is available on Amazon so think I will shop there. At least Lubbock is better than Amarillo. Worst experience ever!!
When buying expensive products, its nice to be able to shade match, or to see if the product agrees with your skin. Since Covid, theyre not allowing any samples or testing, I hope they find a way to go back to allowing customers to sample products.
The selection is great but the customer service is lacking. You should feel welcome in a store but that is not the feeling I get when I visit. Im not sure if they are trained to down sell or if its something else? It would be nice to be shown new products because I love a variety.
I just moved from another State. ULTA is an amazing store with the staff from where I am from. I came into the ULTA of lubbock and its very sad watching all these people work there not one person had their make up done or hair they all looked like they just woke up and through on a pony tail. These ladies need to set an example. The ulta personal from where I was everyone always had to had make up and hair done no exception we had a great customer flow!! But this store in lubbock is unbelievable ruined.

I had to go in and get some make-up for my wifes birthday. Didnt know what to get. But an employee named Austin was amazing. HORRIBLE online customer service!!! DO NOOOOT order online, you will NOT recieve your order ! I can PROMISE you that. I finally just disputed with my bank and filed it as fraud.

I came to Ulta in a desperate attempt to find a moisturizer and a cleanser that wouldn’t cause my sensitive, acne-prone skin to break out. Reed got to talking to my mom and I about skincare products and everything he recommended is amazing!! Reed really knows what products are good for sensitive skin and he provided me with excellent skincare tips, products, and even makeup! He worked with me for at least a half hour to make sure I got products I was happy with. He is an excellent employee who provides amazing customer service. Thank you Reed!!
Took my wife here to get some makeup today and they wouldn’t let us in without a mask. They’re still pushing the fear and the left wing agenda so we won’t be going back.
I think these people are racial profilers theyre so rude every time I go in there its like worst experience they never want to fix my hair they always make up a excuse not toand if you dont look like youre rich and have money they dont even want to service with you theyre rude I would never go to the store again
This review is for the Ulta Salon. My stylist was Nichelle and she was wonderful. I loved the cut and all the education and advice. She was totally nonjudgmental and super friendly and nice. I loved how she broke down the how-to-care instructions for my hair to where it was easy to understand. She even answers questions way after the appointment that may arise. I wont be going to anyone else from now on. I definitely recommend Nichelle.

This review is specific for the Ulta Salon. Lindsey is my normal stylist and shes fantastic. Never had a bad cut or experience with her. Shes friendly and professional and patient when I have to reschedule. I just saw Nichelle for a Deva Curl cut and she was wonderfully knowledgeable about Curly Girl Method and gave me all the education without making me feel like a dummy for doing the wrong things. So yeah, Lindsey and Nichelle are both top notch!
I came in today doing some early birthday shopping for myself with my fiance, sister in law and her son. My fiance was carrying the basket that held my items so I could look, and a couple of the workers kept evil eyeing him like he was going to steal something, i guess because we werent dressed up and I was in a work shirt. The girl who checked us out was kinda nice, seemed like she didnt really wanna deal with us though. Unless I need something ASAP Ill probably just order online.
Staff was not helpful. When we asked a question, they would merely refer us to the Ulta App. I thought, well heck, I can do that from home. Update: Since the owner responded positively, we will give it another try and for now I will change my rating from a 1 star to a 3 star until I visit again.

I don’t normally post reviews about stores but I do want to take the time to say thank you to the young man who was helping the other day! He matched to me to my perfect foundation shade he also gave me the best tips on how to use it and how I should apply the products he sold me!! I went to him because his makeup was so pretty and he looked like he new what he was doing and I’m so happy I went to him. If anyone ever goes and needs someone to help them I definitely suggest going to the young male wearing makeup!

Very helpful staff, everything is ALWAYS neat, clean, bright & inviting. Even when there is a long line it goes very fast because the cashiers are knowledgable and very helpful & efficient. Im like a kid in a candy store as soon as I walk in the doors. KUDOS to whoever runs the store & the entire staff because its ALWAYS a pleasure......ALWAYS!! 👑

After reading all the bad reviews I still decided to take my daughter to have her hair cut and colored. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by so many associates and asked if we needed help. Everyone who I ran into were nice and helpful. The salon was amazing so informative, Maria was phenomenal. Color skills amazing . Im glad I didnt listen to the bad reviews and tried it out for ourselves. Thank you!!
I went in the other day to get a foundation match for my complexion. As I walked in I saw 2 employees standing chatting and they both looked up and saw me. I started looking a t some foundations. Not one of them came to welcome me or offered any help. I finally asked the girl for some help. The look on her face was not a happy one to help a customer. She never smiled and every word was short. The worst was when she applied foundation on my face I could smell her hand. It smelled like pee! I was so disgusted! She also did not look professional. She actually looked kinda sloppy. She probably wore those clothes a few days in a row. I left with the smell of pee in my nose. I went to Sephora where I had a totally different experience. The girl I asked for help was so friendly and gave me some advice on different foundations.
Pricey but all high end make up is. I love the girls here they are always a big help. Kelly was so awesome she made a big effort in going to the back to check to see if there was more of a product for me. Michelle is also a very friendly girl.
Sales associate was very helpful in giving information on items that I was interested in purchasing. Showed the item explained use and recommended products that would make experience better and not damage hair. Gave the options of products cutomers liked for their use. Enjoyed the experience since the associate was patient in explanations - pors and cons for each product. Felt good about the purchase.
I love this place! Parking is great (not so much during the holidays )and the staff is very helpful. I can count on expert advice on applying or using any kind of product Ulta has. And I always know whats trendy for the season.

Always helpful and friendly when I go in! Ulta customer service has always been good. They quickly answer your questions when you call or come in. Always friendly and happy to help. The MAC ppl inside this Lubbock location is another story. Theyre are not friendly and often watch you as you browse their products but will not ask you if they can help with anything. I have yet to buy anything from MAC at this location.
Often here, love almost everything they offer. Seemingly dont carry a lot in the super light shade range nor deep. Sometimes dont carry full lines of a brand either. One of the few that didnt get MAC products. But great for finding some hair care!
The workers in there can answer every question you have and give you every product needed to fix whatever problem you have!
I go to the brow bar at least once a month, sometimes twice, and always enjoy the job they do. B’anca is an awesome brow girl and always does a great job on my brows every time I go to see her. Courtney is always very friendly and helpful, too.
Im normally really happy with the service I receive at this location which is why Im giving it a 3 star review not a 1 star. I went in today to pick up an order (something Id never done before). I went to the cash register closest to the pick up counter where I was met by Keily (lead cashier on duty this morning). After the patron ahead of me finished her transaction I went to step up and shes like sorry our line starts over . there and motions to the young lady that just walked into the line. I said, Im sorry but I was here first and I just need to pick up an order. The young lady in line said it was fine that I went ahead. Our lead cashier with an attitude says the pick up counter is here and points 2 ft to her left. I felt like if I didnt move over the two ft she wouldnt have helped me. Just something in her whole attitude today made me want to shop elsewhere.
The associate “Mason” was very knowledgeable! He was also very kind and talked through many products with me while being very honest with us about the products he mentioned! both my daughters and I always go to him for the best service and advice he’s amazing!
The sales people are so kind and helpful. They are knowledgeable of all the products and will not treat you different if you ask for the cheapest product they have. I love Ulta!!
I drive all the way from Dallas to see Lindsay at the Ulta Salon in Lubbock. Thats how amazing she is! Everyone has always been helpful and friendly. Best location Ive ever been to.
Went in this weekend very disappointed couldn’t even get anyone to help. The girls that were working around the tarte and two face cosmetics were to busy talking about if they were a shot drinker or a beer drinker. when I asked a girl in the MAC department to help me she asked them if they were busy and they were rude and told her yes so she ended up helping me, so instead of buying those brands I bought the MAC brand. then my daughter asked for help and they looked at her like she was bothering them and she did say if people came to talk about drinks they need to find another job so a guy came over and helped us . We only went because my daughter was given a $100 gift card for Christmas but we will continue to go to the mall for better customer service.
Too many staff standing around socializing. Numerous looked right at me and didnt ask if they could help. They didnt WANT to help. Chatting was more important. Wish I was secret boss... Many would be out of jobs!
While I love Ulta and have not had a bad experience with their stylists, their policies need work. I booked an appointment in July with my usual stylist, however yesterday when I called to change the time (I got an interview and they had only one time available), I was told that my regular stylist was no longer with Ulta and that no other stylists had availability. This would not have been an issue, if 1.) I had been notified of the change and 2.) If the date of the appointment was not my only day off that week. This is not the first time a regular stylist has left the company and no one has notified me. I dont have the time to drive over an hour out of my way to another Ulta and I dont have the luxury of taking time off from work to get my hair done. If the company changes their notification policy, I will once again be glad to refer friends/relatives to the salon. The stylists, themselves are good...I have unusually thick and coarse hair and very few salons actually have stylists who are trained on that type of hair.
I went on an extremely busy day to pick up my online order. I wasnt acknowledged for quite awhile, but when I was helped the process was easy.
Tried to get some help in the MAC foundation today and a lady name MADDIE was really rude to me kind of rubbed me off like I wasn’t good enough. I asked for 2 samples of MAC foundation because I didn’t know which I was and she said snooty “we only can give one sample but I guess I can do two” it made me feel really uncomfortable. If a customer is seriously trying out a product you should be kind and help them and obviously try and make the sale! I mean what’s the big deal with one squirt of foundation? I could have easily bought both containers and returned them to store which would have lost y’all a lot of money. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
I made a purchase on Saturday 04/21/18 and the lead cashier, Alexis, was the sweetest most helpful retail employee I have ever met. She took down my number to make sure my online order was accurate. She was really great and the other ULTA employees are very helpful too.
I came in here not expecting to find anything since my girlfriend send me in there. Nobody asked me for help as I wandered off clueless and had to ask multiple associates for help. I ended up leaving since I felt overwhelmed and ordered online.

Always pointing out your best features & which makeup will highlight my features!This Ulta was out of the two shades I desired but the sales associate made sure to help color match Simialr ones in different finishes!I walked out of there extremely happy & was even introduced to Mac Eyelashes!!Who knew! I love this location & all the friendly staff members.Even my cash register woman was so sweet and didn’t make me feel rushed and offered me discounts before I paid!
Rude workers! Every time I go the works act like they are bothered when you ask for help . The lady at the register was so annoyed that she was at work. I said “thank you” when she was done checking me out she just looked at me as if I was stupid! Like come on now.... I’m pretty sure y’all could hire kind people who actually appreciate the job! Do better Ulta .
I would have put five stars but the restroom was ridiculously dirty. Water all over the floor, little to no soap, and the toilets were horrendous. I walked out as fast as I walked in. Please focus on the cleanliness of the store as much as yall focus on the customers.

I always love going to Ulta. The staff is friendly and help you with all your makeup questions! Its a hit or miss with items but was told to call to check if an item is in stock snf if it is they will hold it for you! Huge plus!
Every time I have been in the store I have had HORRIBLE customer service. Either that are to busy talking to one another, just totally ignoring you, trying to look pretty for everyone, frustrated that they actually have to do some actual work. My girlfriend recently had her hair cut here and the hairstylist dropped her glasses on their tile floor, which of course broke them. The stylist admitted to her boss that she dropped them to which the manager told my girlfriend “you should have had warranty, we can only offer you $80 and a 10% off coupon to ulta”. The glasses cost 3 times that amount and we provided them with a receipt. However, we just keep getting the run around from managers and now they are saying my girlfriend broke her own glasses. We definitely will never be back to Ulta and are working on a law suit with a lawyer.

This Ulta is very similar to every other Ulta Ive ever been to, but the customer service in the makeup section was horrible. My daughter and I needed help and there were 4 makeup consultants standing together just chatting. I walked over and stood next to them and one of them looked at me but didnt stop talking. I then said excuse me, can someone help and they looked at me like I was crazy for interrupting their conversation, I asked my question and one of them said its over there, they didnt walk me to the area or anything, Ive never had service like that at Ulta before. The customer service at the cash register was excellent!!!!!

They didnt have one of the pallets I had been wanting the guy didnt even go look at the back another lady asked if I needed help when I was looking for the morphe brush set that was on sale she went and looked where I was looking at didnt find them and just told me to ask for them at the counter when I checked out so I did and thanks to them I got the set of brushes and one of the pellets

Mason at the Mac counter helped me find the perfect Christmas gift for my friend!! He was very sweet and super knowledgeable on all the lastest products, he even went as far as showing me some great sale items. Another guy helped me as well, I believe his name was Austin ( very tall guy, was wearing purple eyeshadow ) I had questions on a beginner palette for my niece and he pointed me towards the Jaclyn hill palette and explained it was the perfect mix of neautrals, shimmers, and a pop of color. I love absolutely love the great customer service!
Yeah they have cool stuff, but the service is mediocre, not all the workers kmow whats going on, and they hardly ever have the gifts that come with special buys. It is also very disorganized.
