I find the Lumber River Trading company much more accessible than the big box stores. They are locally owned and managed. The staff their are often super knowledgeable and come up with solutions to problems. Yesterday my husband and I rented a wood sander for our hardwood floors and after our rental time ended, we returned the item and I explained to the staff how we (our fault not the stores) didn’t buy ample enough sanding belts and they gave us a complimentary rental so we could get the job done! Thank you for such a caring staff. It’s great to do business with such a thoughtful company.

I have been coming to this store almost every time I come to Lumberton in the past 20 years. The store is always clean people are always friendly. I normally wouldnt single out one person because it takes all the employees to make it a pleasant experience but the employee that helped me today while I was getting supplies for making wine and Im sorry I do not have her name while I was waiting for her to help me I was listening to her talk to another customer she answered his every question without hesitation and knew exactly where everything was. When she got done helping carry some of the stuff that this gentleman had purchased to the register she came right back to me very pleasant girl Good personality its not very often anymore that you run into people like this very good employee. Thank you for the great service I will definitely visit this store in the future.

Shop there often, customer service is good

Poor customer service. Purchased a weed eater there and took it in for repair. Charged me$37 after they kept it 6 weeks. Got home and it would not work. Carried it back and they were sarcastic with me and wouldnt stand behind the repair.

Repair staff were rude and lied to me about my repair. They also threatened to return my replacement to the company after I asked them why they didn’t call me when the repair was at their store. They claimed they tried to call me several times but my phone lists every single time it is called. I suggest at least take your repairs elsewhere. The repair department is not part of the helpful hardware store.

This simple small town feeling of hardware store has grits! That is correct, grits, the real southern style with cheese. They also do fundraisers for local Special Olympics. It was easy to get in, but hard to get out with friendly staff willing to talk to you as equal. I was able to find exactly the hardware I was looking for by asking, but also was too easily distracted by finding more.

Because of my past bad experience over a year or more ago, I hadnt been in this store for awhile. Since I was in town running errands, I decided to stop in because I was looking for bedroom room window screens, a toilet & bathroom faucet for my mobile home. I went in the store & was greeted, and I starting checking the aisles for the items I was in search of. The store is in dire need of cleaning & organizing. No one offered to help me search for anything even though 2 employees walked by the aisles I was in and I yelled excuse me and they both kept walking. I decided to walk the store just to see if anyone else was having a similar experience but I noticed that there were 4 people on line at the customer service area in the back of the store and an employee appeared to be talking very loudly about her personal life to someone who I couldnt see. I didnt find a toliet, the facuet I found was labeled mobile home but was for a kitchen, and I didnt see any window screens. Again the shelves were very dusty/dirty and several items were not even hanging in there designated spot. As I was leaving, nothing was said to me either. Once again Im disappointed with my experience in the Lumberton True Value and I will not be returning nor would I suggest that anyone else shop at this location also. I have been to the True Value in Pembroke and have had a better experience, otherwise I would just suggest a mobile home parts store where you would receive better service.

I love coming here. The people are always friendly and very helpful. They make sure that you leave with what it is you needed and came in for. Ericka had helped me get ducks for my daughter that she very much loves and helped me find everything that I would need and also gave great advice about the ducks. I will definitely be back! Great job!

Al Locklear is a HORRIBLE store manager and his employees emulate his poor behavior in poor customer service. Before driving to this store, I called to see if they sold the item. I spoke with Al whom told me yes and it cost $7 a bag because they were trying to get rid of it. Upon my arrival, how was I to know that Al meant the outside display ONLY was at the above range and not the inside items. I paid for the items at the above price and on my way to my vehicle I noticed for the first time the outside display if the very items I purchased inside; nothing on my way inside the store about the outside store display reference the above items caught my attention. Ironically I was charged the large display bag price of $7 and not the small $5 display price. Of course, I wanted the difference and would have purchased even more of the items at the $5 price because Ive been on a scavenger hunt for this product. Then here comes Al after what seemed like a long period and my perception that hes been updated through their walkie talkie radios. So heres Al putting his hands on my buggy to have my items rung up at the inside store price. I said no youre not with my hands on the buggy; I have a receipt for my paid items. He then told me to take my hands off the buggy and simultaneously directed his employee to take the items out of the buggy and put them back inside store. Al told me to call the police if I wanted to. Believe me---Im mad because I didnt; again with receipt in hand for my PURCHASED merchandise. Finally, l left thepremises and I got home and called the Lumberton Watch Commander about my experience. I agree with the Watch Commander--that this store want get anymore of my business. If I could rate this store TRIPLE ZEROES the entire store TRULY EARNED THAT PLUS LESS!!

Lumber River Trading offers so much more than hardware. They offer a large selection of merchandise including clothing and work boots, yeti & pelican coolers and cups, outdoor décor. I can always find all my home improvement and outdoor living needs here. Theyve got it all. The staff is also very friendly and always willing to go above and beyond to help.

Had the most horrendous retail experience Ive ever had in the store. I went in to search for a nut and bolt, but their sizes were mislabeled. I went to the service desk and the employee there ignored me for a good minute (she was talking to another employee about partying or something). I asked her to help me find the correct size of the bolt because I said none was matching and she made me feel like a complete idiot. Then she would not help me find the correct but I needed. That was the last time Ill go to this True Value. Ill drive 40 miles out of the way before I go into this store again.
