We were looking for a family car and called ahead to see if we wanted to look at was in stock (since we live quite a ways away from the lot), and we were in luck. We came and test drove our van and decided it was what we wanted. James and George were very kind to us, answered all of our questions, and made it so we could take our car home that night even though it was the weekend and almost 7pm. Financing was easy to walk through, and were treated very well and they had a great sense of humor. My brother and I showed up after they had already closed, we explained that we drove an hour to meet up with a private seller and that the car overheated on the test run. Despite being closed and not being in the bushiness selling cars that are in our budget they still were very friendly and showed us two cars they were going to take to the auction next week that were in our budget. Seldom do I write reviews but this place has really let me down. In my experience this dealership is the epitome of shady car dealership. I was helping one of my childhood friends purchase his first car out of college and as soon as we arrived at the location we were given dirty looks and immediately asked if we were purchasing cash or financing, mind you the car he was interested in was only 10k… we get to the point where my friend liked the car enough to consider buying it but the salesman refused to let us test drive the vehicle prior to a credit check. My friend was not even confident at this point of purchasing the vehicle yet. Then the salesman proceeded to say even if we had insurance and proper identification is was standard practice to run hard credit pull prior to a test drive… what a LIE. There was a kind older gentlemen working there but everybody else whom we encountered were shady as they come. Would never recommend a business like this to anyone.

After a test drive of an SUV we asked to test a small compact car and then were asked to leave since we didnt know exactly what we wanted to buy. The yard Man didnt have time help us or desire. If you want to feel deflated go here.

Stay away! After a lot of research and debate I decided to risk buying a car from them. Based on the reviews I found on here, it seemed like a medium level risk as far as used car dealers are concerned. But do not be fooled - they are a sleazy dealer with a fresh coat of paint. Tony was demeaning, told me he was surprised I was a welder and blacksmith, he assumed I was a secretary or something - literally his words. Accused me of lowballing and was adamant the car was in incredible condition with no known issues when I offered the market price (it was valued as overpriced by car gurus website). The car had a severe vibration at high speeds and breaking, I was told it needed rear breaks/rotors and an alignment to solve this issue and that they had already replaced the front breaks. I took it immediately for an alignment, which was performed but I was told by the shop that it was out a negligible amount-would not have contributed to the vibration at all. Come to find out, they either did not, or did such a poor job replacing the front brakes that the rotors are already warped, so I need all new brakes/rotors front and back AND a new timing belt! This timing belt is my fault for not thinking to ask outright, but the engine was in such good shape I dropped the ball and forgot about this major question. I also have found several electrical and cosmetic issues in the vehicle that were not addressed/disclosed up front. The price did not reflect the timing belt and these issues, and again I was told there are no known issues with the car. Any dealer knows the typical timing belt replacement schedule and this was just a sneaky omission of fact. Technically its not an issue, its a service that needs to be performed, etc.After I bought the car, the salesman kept me for 20 minutes as I was standing there with my door open ready to leave, going on about all the many guitars he had bought and the expensive rare ones he just acquired. Not the conversation you want to hear after deciding to knowingly overpay for a vehicle. I enjoyed his company enough to engage in this conversation, but funny, when I called back to inquire about my paperwork not arriving, he was not so warm. He didnt ask how the car was doing for me - just said hope you have a good summer, bye! When I let him know it wasnt going well as I was bleeding money into this car and for what reason, he had no response. I expressed that I was disappointed as I thought they were a more honest dealer and not even an apology for known admittance of the facts! He said ok, well, have a good day. I guess I should have known better and this is what you get with a used car dealer. This was my first experience buying solo from a used dealer, and although I did as much due diligence as would make my father proud :) I still got a bit taken, so this review is an effort to help anyone who may be lost or struggling in the used car purchasing process. My advice - go elsewhere! Little bit sexist, little bit demeaning, lot bit sleazy.

I found an SUV on Autotrader that was perfect for my needs with a GREAT PRICE. It was at Select Motor Auto Sales. I was a bit nervous about going to a smaller used car lot. But as soon as we started talking to the sales guy, James, my mind was put at ease. We didnt end up getting the car, but the whole experience was quick and easy. Tony & Carlos were both great! Tony sent the car out for inspection we wanted to buy, 3 things came up needing fixing, he told his mechanic to fix them before even contacting me. He called to let me know they were getting fixed and it would be a couple days until the car would be back for me to test drive it. Saved me a trip out which I very much appreciated. Its about a 45min trip without Seattle traffic. So when my husband and I returned we took it to the Toyota dealership for a buyers inspection, it passed wonderfully. They said that indeed the work had been done, and the parts that they used were certified Toyota parts and it was a great car! We returned to Tonys lot, agreed on a price. Update 2/4/2020: Tony lost to the Attorney General’s office and the Department Of Licensing. He received a public notice of him breaking the law and forced to write me a check for my money back. He tried lying during the investigation. His response to this review is just him trying to make himself look better. This took a month to handle after him threatening to keep every single dollar of mine. The DAY AFTER I returned the car, Tony decided to harass me at 1AM and threaten to press charges and call police on me. I didn’t answer his calls so he sent an audio message at 1AM.Absolutely horrible. Tony will do everything including threaten if he does not get his way. Anyone is free to contact me for full video recording (acknowledged by him) and full text conversations. He will harass you until he gets his way. My financing fell through, I returned the car and he refuses to give back my down payment of a few thousand dollars. I have video of him just yelling and yelling at me.

What a joke. Came to see a car posted on their site. Instead of showing me the car and going for a test drive the owner (or manager) spent 15 minutes asking me if Im ready to pay full price, telling me about all these other people who want to buy it, and telling me that he wont let me test drive the car if Im not ready to buy right there and then with cash. Car also turned out to be rebuilt title even though the ad didnt say so. Good luck selling with such customer experience and attitude.

I checked out a car recently at Select Motor Auto Sales, and found it much better then I though, Its a small dealer on the north end of 99 (which already paints a bad picture) but what I found was kind staff, not to pushy and open and honest about the car. I cant really say anything bad about this place. They seemed eager to deal and understood the value of the car they were selling however ultimately I did not buy the car though at no fault of the dealer but rather the cars shape which they were very open with and was reflected in the price. After a test drive I advised that I was going to sleep on it and let them know tomorrow which they were fine with, The next day I spoke with then on the phone and told them I was going to pass and again they were kind and understanding not pushy or upset. I cant speak to how they close deals or financing options just that I was expecting another crappy 99th ST dealer but they proved me wrong.

My Husband purchase a vehicle from here a year ago, we got it around this time and Carlos I believe was his name of the salesman he was very helpful and nice and answered all of my questions. We had an issue with the financed company because my husbands boss was paying him cash and check and there was a big misunderstanding long story short that got figured out and we were able to get the car. The whole summer the car was perfect until the bad weather hit in September 5 months after purchasing the car started to leak water from the roof window,( of curse theres no warranty ) We took it to get it fixed and it was not fixed apparently because in October my cars roof window open up on its own during the night the water got all over damaging my leather seats and the computer it was a mess. I took into the cash wash before and no water ever leaked until the rainy days started. I am hoping that they did not know this car had that before selling it to us but it was so frustrating such a bad experience we had :( We were thinking of going back to purchase another one but after that issue I doubt it. The 2 stars are for the salesman who was helpful and I hope he was not aware that the car had leaking issues :/

Go back 2 weeks later in person when I go to get my plates, and I get the same line and still no contact info of even the company name to replace the windshield.Refuses to make it right after the fact. Time lapse or no time lapse. You agree to do something that you purposefully did not forward to the 3rd party company (that you self admittedly cannot pass off the blame), and say well its too late. That spells F-R-A-U-D.Stay away from this shady operation.

I’m not gonna lie I was first looking at a suv for my family of 4 and my wife. Tony and George are the most honest sales men I’ve met. Tony Is the guy to not only talk about financing but he is a great financial adviser! He was honest and told me my low low credit and my other car loan wouldn’t get me in the suv I wanted. but thankfully they had a van what was in my affordable price range and we were able to grab it the next day! Tony is a no bs and honest man to deal with, he won’t give you a run around! George is very knowledgeable towards the vehicles on the lot. The no-pressure feel of the staff is great, but definitely ask what services were done to the vehicle and verify with your own inspection before you buy. Had to bleed nearly all the fluids and replace the ABS module two weeks after I bought a truck here.

He also said the same thing to my husband via text because every vehicle we asked about was already sold, and my husband said they should update there listings. Came in with cash willing to buy a used Lexus IS300. Tony, our salesperson, was very pushy on negotiating a deal before letting us test drive or properly check out the car. He kept repeating how the timing belt was changed and how it runs and feels great and how his Son was driving it for 6 months with no problems. As soon as I said I cant negotiate a deal until I see how it drives and that I cant just take his word for it and buy it, he closed the car up, told us its not for sale, and kicked us out of his dealershit as he picked up the phone and bitchwalked away. I was completely blown away by the rudeness of Tony. I was very much interested in purchasing the car on the spot, but people like that dont deserve any business. Worst dealershit Ive ever been to.

Wow- I cant believe all the negative reviews! I purchased my Infiniti QX4 3 years and 8 months ago and it is still going strong! My husband and I absolutely loved Tonys no pressure salesmanship. They were drawing near closing time and Tony still allowed us to take a test drive out to Bothell so that my husbands dad (a certified mechanic) could look it over. We all approved. We paid what we expected to pay, KBB and it has been well worth it. We are looking for a bigger vehicle now and if Select Motors has what were looking for, we will definitely be back!

A few months ago i purchased a honda crv, they showed me the inspection by they had honda perform, but when i looked at it and it said nothing about the multiple cylinder misfire throwing the check engine light (had it tested) they said its water from steaming the engine that was touching the plugs and wires. so i called the honda dealership and asked them if they remembered doing the car. thankfully someone did and remembered the engine code and had looked into it on inspection. weird how it didnt show on the paperwork they gave me. less than 3 weeks later the car starts stalling and misfiring. almost 2 thousand later to replace the cylinder head and numerous other parts the car is finally running again.

Horrible customer service. Got on the lot, asked to see a particular car, and it was already sold. Than I asked if I can see other cars on the lot, and he told me that he doesnt have any other car in my price range, even before I told him what my price range was. I left right away. Days later, the car that was sold reappear on the lot and on the ad that I saw. Not welcoming at all.

Hey guys I went to this dealer yesterday to buy a white toyota highlander limited, 2009 miles 128,000,the car was $14,999 so the lowest he went $14,500,so I was agree with the price, so I test drive the car and I like the way was driving and I went home to get cash from my brothers because the car was for my dad,and today around 12 I went with my dad to buy him the car and I ask owner to give me carfax and I was look and there its says 1 accident in 2015, and I was disappointed because a day before that I called in, and they told me the title its clean but it wasnt, and I want you guys to keep away from this dealer, they are big scam, be very careful, no business with this guys, the owner its very rude and unprofessional, I was giving him my offer but he was so rude and kind of kick me from his property, no matter how much you like the car, but remember you will have problems in the future, they never tell the truth lets going on with that car,

Tony is very good at what he do

I had a very good car buying experience from Tony and his son James at Select Motor sales. I understand different people will have various opinions about small car lots, but at Select I had a great experience. Now granted, I am a very informed buyer and knew exactly what I wanted. I found a Passat wagon on the internet, craigslist I think, and went to the lot to check it out. Fortunately, I was greeted when I arrived and James was very helpful in answering my questions (of course, only to the extent of what he knew). Actually he was more than helpful by showing me other cars I MIGHT be interested in.... I was not. I came for the TDI :-)I knew full-well what the car service records should be and what the common short-comings are on this car. They were not able to produce the records I required so I had to NEGOTIATE the price accordingly.Because I found the car on the internet, I lived a considerable distance away. I scheduled an appointment at the local VW dealer for a pre-buy inspection, and Tony was able to deliver and pick up the car for me. This is were I feel they went above and beyond, that was awesome!! Note, I did have to pay for the pre-buy inspection at the dealership ($100), but it is ALWAYS worth it even if you have to walk away. The dealership found the car DID need a few repairs and I had to push back on the price accordingly, which Select did, but I wouldnt say it was easy :-)In the end I knew what I was buying and knew what I was willing to pay. Tony was reasonable, and we were able to agree on what I thought was a fair price.Things to remember when buying a used car:1.Know what you want! They WILL sell you anything!2.Knowledge is power! research the vehicle, pay for an independent inspection!!It IS worth it!3.Be willing to walk away! Its your money, dont whine about buying a broken car!!4.Pay what the car is worth, e.g. KBB minus the cost of repairs!They paid wholesale (not a penny more!) for it. 60% of KBB retail.Try starting the negotiations there :-) you never know......

Poor customer service...sent my son to a shop that caused more damage then fixed.Tony was very rude and not willing to work on the problem, no customer service at all, didnt want to talk to a woman..just a manDONT BUY FROM HERE!.
