John was super down to earth, honest, and not your typical pushy salesman. Best car buying experience yet, will definitely be back! I took my car in to be detailed. The detail was nicely done. However, my car was damaged while it was there. When I went to pick it up, the owner, who was present, couldn’t even extend the common courtesy of an apology for the inconvenience. In addition, while they paid for the labor to have it fixed, they did not cover the cost of the replacement part.

Our situation was somewhat different than other customers. We were interested in a vehicle that Gentry Motors had but knew, because we are located 7 hours from Macomb, that we may question our decision on the purchase because of this distance.  Ultimately we decided on a very similar vehicle closer to home, but of all of the conversations we had with other car dealerships during our search, our conversations with Rich were undoubtedly the most relaxed, caring and informative.  His interest in our car search was highly professional and showed confidence in representing the vehicle with low pressure tactics. Anyone that has, or intends to purchase from Rich or John can be assured that your buying experience will be handled with high levels of care and integrity.

I recommend Gentry Motor Company for your servicing needs. They have taken care of my Toyota Corolla for a few years now, and I would not go anywhere else. The service dept almost always gets me in on short notice!

The shift sticks slot was not cleaned fully, they only cleaned it in the parked state. They didnt touch the trunk either. There are still some stains and Im unsure if they will come out but otherwise they did very well.EDIT: They fixed everything up nicely, no qualms here!

We bought my GMC Denali from John Gentry at Gentry Motors. We were on a drive on Easter weekend And the Denali started loosing power outside of Macomb. I called John and told him what was going on and nursed it to Gentry Motors. John met me when we pulled into the lot, now mind you it was 5min till closing. He had a vehicle ready to go for my family of 8. He let us use it till our vehicle was repaired, because of parts it was 6 days. He called when it was done and I picked it up and havent had any problems sense. He was nice about the hole thing. I have bought cars from Gentry Motors before and will be a life time customer. We recently test drove a 2015 Range Rover Sport Supercharged. It caught our eye the night before while picking up some chicken nuggets for the kiddo at the Burger King drive thru. My wife was quick to inform me that this was her dream vehicle and it would make her very happy to have it sitting in our garage. So the next day we contacted John Gentry at the dealership. He said come on in and see me. When we showed up he greeted us in the lobby with a nice welcoming hand shake and offered us a drink. Took a copy of my drivers license and the keys to our car so he could look it over for a trade in. The test drive was as fun as anyone could expect with 510hp available at the right foot. We were all smiles. We got back to the dealership and John was smiling too. He knew what we just experienced and could tell that we were hooked. So we sat down and John told us what he would give us for trade in on our car, which was more than a fair price compared to other dealerships that had given us a very offensive low-ball offers. I keep my vehicles almost obsessively clean, so it was nice to not be offended for once with a reasonable offer. We shook hands and agreed to touch base with eachother the following Monday. Due to some family related issues that weve been dealing with in the past few months and possibly unforeseeable things we might run into in the future, we decided that we should hold off on buing the vehicle of our dreams for now. John was very understanding and agreed with me that now just isnt the time to be making this purchase. He never once made us feel pressured about anything. He was up front and honest about the condition of the very lightly used Range Rover. Needless to say, when the time is right for us to look for our dream vehicle again, we will be in touch with John. I highly recommend anyone looking for a stress free, experience with purchasing a vehicle, to contact John Gentry. You wont be disappointed.

I took my car to Gentry Motor Company for diagnosis and repair for an irritating noise. They diagnosed the problem and gave me the bad news. After some discussion and a little research, we determined that the problem should be covered under a power train warranty!Now for the great part, Gentry coordinated with a local dealership to confirm the diagnosis and to make the warranty repair. I had my pickup truck detailed at Gentry Motor Company. I have a chocolate lab riding in the back seat of my truck almost every day. Chocolate labs shed a lot of dog hair. I had a great experience! I dropped my car off for a full detail they gave me a ride to work and dropped my car off to my workplace when it was done! My car looked and smelled amazing!! It hasn’t looked that good sense we bought it! The only problem I found was I paid for a 3-row detail and the 3rd row was missed but mind you my cars 3rd row is a fold-down seat and to be completely honest it looks a lot like a spare tire compartment. However, I messaged the owner (who made my appointment for me) and told him about it. I tell you what I have never felt more taken care of by a company he had his guys come and get my car the next day they cleaned the 3rd row and brought it back to me! I know I will definitely be back when my car gets dirty again!! Even with the mistake the way they handled it made me feel good! I usually feel bad when I say something but they went above and beyond to take care of me!

What makes me take the time to write a review is I had an issue with my company truck and had a meeting I HAD to get to. I called Katie in service and was able to secure a rental vehicle over the phone & was on my way within 1/2 hour of my company truck breaking down. What makes this even more impressive is, they didnt have any rental vehicles left. Gentry Motor Co. put a vehicle that was for sale in service for me based off of my dire need get on the road for my meeting. Cant complain (too much). Seems to be a change (again) in service. Theres intense upselling pressure. If I wanted something done, I would have said it. That said, I understand. They werent allowed to make a living for a few months, since Gov. Flinstone said so. The Commie Cough is more important to ruin people for power. Gentrys went out of their way when a problem was encountered. Gave me a loaner. Were going to come in on a non work day to complete the job, but thats another story. I wound up satisfied with the job on the following Monday. I made a mistake of not telling them to wash my car (as is their service), but I keep it clean. As a result, theres waterspots made of kryptonite all over. 2 coats of wax and a special polymer and I think almost all are gone. Whew. Still the best in Macomb.

Mr. Gentry took time away from his family on Christmas Eve to come in and let me look at a truck. I kept apologizing to him for taking time away from his family and he said he doesnt do it very often but he values his customers and treats them like they are family. I really appreciated him coming in on such short notice especially on a holiday! He worked with me and was able to get me in that truck and I love it! John, rich and the gang came through as usual. We had to get ball joints put on our kia sorrento. While taking the old ones off, a special nut broke on it. I got my 09 Corolla Sport from them (very clean n sound). They are nice and God fearing. I initially had minor issues with the passenger airbag sensor but they stepped in and fixed it at no extra charge. They sell quality cars at low rate. They also offer car cleaning services.

There was a few problems fixing up the car but they kept me informed and let me know every step of the way what was going on and got it fixed at a very good price.

Gentry Motors is one of those throwback companies that hasnt forgotten about the importance of service. Every communication touch point was approached with satisfaction in mind, even when my repair became a PITA because of a 3rd party parts supplier I was using. Never once did they get aggravated or overcharge when they easily could have. And when the part finally arrived, they turned the repair around within an hour of receipt. For all you students looking for an honest, hard-working mechanic to do any repairs or maintenance while at school, I couldnt encourage you enough to give Katie at a call at Gentry. Never buy from this dealer, my daughter bought a $7000.00.car way back in April. Never made 1st payment and it broke down. They have had this car off and on for almost 4 months and cant fix it. They refuse to give her money back or a different car. And dont fall for their clean car fax. It showed they did nothing to the car except regular maintenance, which was a lie, the mechanic told them he had the whole motor tore apart before they bought the car.
