Stopped by here passing through on a longer road trip. The place was crowded and I probably waited in line for 5-10 minutes. I ordered one of their Fall Lattes. It was made very well and better than I expected. The coffee was smooth and less acidic than other places. Overall, a good experience.

I get coffee or lunch here at LEAST 1/2x a week. The staff is always so welcoming, friendly, and the drinks and food are always fantastic. The pesto grilled cheese is one of the best grilled cheeses Ive ever had tbh.The prices are a little higher than some other places, but I think its worth it for a local cafe. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting and relaxing. I could sit there for hours and just zone out, read, get work done, or anything!Another small con Ill mention is that the food often takes a while to get out to you, sometimes drinks too. But again, this is a small local cafe and theyve had had a fairly small staff recently. But the food is always fresh and delicious and I love their lattes.I just really appreciate how hard the staff work and it does get very busy at times with the high school students, but they work through it with a smile. They are bringing in some new baristas lately; Im glad theyre getting more help and Im looking forward to interacting with these folks as well. Thanks Barriques!

I have been to all of the other Barriques, McKee, Old Sauk, and on Park St when they were open and I’ve always seen this location and thought it would be cool to come to. I got there 1:30pm on a Tuesday(today) not busy, walked right up to the counter, wasn’t greeted so I asked how are you doing, no response just how can I help you. I ordered my drink and breakfast sandwich like usually. The coffee came quick and is good but I got the breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs.. how am I supposed to eat that if there’s eggs falling all over the place. Not friendly and not how the sandwich is supposed to be made. Customer service is important to people, you should be friendly and not ignore someone when they’re talking to you, also it’s not hard to make a simple breakfast sandwich correctly especially when things aren’t even busy.

Great place to study, read, escape the business of the Atwood Fest, etc. Great coffee and bakery items. Its a shame theyre closing.

Absolutely love spending mornings on this patio. Espresso chocolate scone is rich and the perfect bitter-sweet combo in a pastry.

The person working the counter didn’t acknowledge my presence at all. She didn’t make eye, greet me, or say Thank You. The only time she even looked at me is when I had to ask for my smoothie. (I ordered ahead of time to go, she acknowledged I had a smoothie but didn’t give it to me) Just not very polite or very good customer service. I don’t expect much, but at the very least when a customer approaches, I would expect a polite acknowledgment of some sort, even if they are busy. Definitely disappointed by the service today. 🙁

Ordered one of the speciality drinks, Mexican mocha..loved the drink.. with its spicy cayenne twist. The other coffee white chocolate mocha didnt have any taste of white mocha in it sadly. The food looks good and the menu has decent choices.wide range of wine and free WiFi.. definitely would recommend this place.

The pulled pork quesadilla is very tasty! Pick your own chips and youve got a yummy meal, enough food to fill you up but light enough to keep you feeling good after eating it. Plenty of electrical plugs everywhere for people to plug in.

Lets be honest, Baristas can be snobby, student loan debt is a real thing,and it upsets people who arent ready for a real job and serve coffee. Coffee here is great and sandwiches are reasonable, just add a $1.00 tip on any card transaction and the people working will be nicer to you, ...maybe

Their light roast coffee is good, better than Starbucks. But its of no use because 4/5 times I didnt get any. They dont even do a pour-over even though they charge a little more than Starbucks, where they do. The medium roast coffee is too bitter and actually a dark roast. For a coffee place, not having coffee variety is sadly hilarious. What is the point in destroying rain forest for coffee if we are just going to burn the beans until it leaks oil, in the name of roasting? Meh. Not going again. People who like coffee should stay away.

Great place for breakfast, lunch, or just a break from life. Nothing like a fresh cup of coffee. Add on a scone and time stands still. An absolute explosion of happiness in your mouth and relaxation for your soul. Great atmosphere. Clean and very well maintained.

Wonderful atmosphere and great people

I absolutely love the specialty lattes and mochas at Barriques. Every other coffee place does basic espresso drinks, but barriques does more. When Im craving something special, I go here. Im not comfortable going to most restaurants and businesses during covid, but I feel perfectly safe in barriques as they take many precautions. Also, you NEED to try the scones here.

Barriques on University has an awesome atmosphere for relaxing or studying. The coffee and food is great for a quick boost. The staff are super friendly and hard-working. One of the few great coffee stops in town.

Great little coffee shop with some food but nothing major. Awesome wine collection. Its fun to go there and be able to have coffee for wine if youd like. A lot of my girlfriends like to meet up there because its convenient easy and well located. Many people go there to study or read. When you go and youll see tons of people on computers.

Having been to all of the Barriques, this my favorite. The staff is always friendly and the small size means a short wait. One thing l really appreciate is the low noise level from the coffee machine. You can actually have have a conversation without raising your voice.

Great options including gluten free wraps and vegetarian. Salads look amazing. I ordered a wrap. Service is pleasant. Bathroom was very clean. Great place to sit outside, work quietly with friends or to meet up :) I will be back.

Nice location. Normal cappuccino is Exceptional Bad. The traditional cappuccino (in the menu) is little bit better, and if you’re lucky enough you would get a good one. Because their coffee beans are good in quality but the persons who deal with your cappuccino (not barista lol) have no idea what they are doing.

I had a MOST excellent sandwich last night at Barriques. I asked for an employees recommendation and she was very specific and absolutely spot on in choosing an excellent sandwich and glass of wine for me. I was very satisfied!!

I prefer many other cafes in town. This Barriques location has fairly slow service and often dirty tables, but the coffee and sandwiches are pretty good. In the summer, it is open to University Ave, which would be nice if it werent for the trucks and flies.

Great coffee, sandwiches, soup, scones, muffins, and other munchies. Plus beer and wine to enjoy there or take home. A wonderful corner coffee shop with seating indoors or out (weather dependent).

Barriques are becoming ubiquitous! And good for them! This one is a bit smaller but has a nice open to the street feel, very comfortable. Smaller wine selection but great coffee and beer too.

The food and drinks here are always good. The atmosphere is great, and this location has a little patio! The only downside is that parking can be difficult in this area.

Barriques is always excellent. Terrific, fresh food served in reasonable portions. A bottle of quality wine at a liquor store price rather than paying a restaurants outlandish markup.

Nice place to do work and meet with people. Good coffee and great teas! I wish the food was a bit cheaper/came with more, but its delicious so cant really complain.

Really good hot coco, which isnt so sweet that it gives you a gross feeling in your stomach half way through, but still sweet enough to be enjoyed by anyone. April is a fabulous barista, I love her and she does a great job.

Pretty cool spot, lots of outlets which make it convenient to work. Music was a little bit loud for my tastes, but it was still okay. I love their chai lattes and their tea selection!

I dont usually write reviews, but our order was completely messed up. We ordered delivery from here, and I had ordered a burrito with a side of sourdough bread. They simply moved the contents of the burrito onto sourdough bread, didnt even give me the tortilla, and didnt give me the side of chips along with it that I had asked for on Grubhub. For 8 dollars, I got a barely filled sourdough sandwich with no side. Hopefully this isnt the norm with their deliveries.

Great place to hang out for a while - several electrical outlets always a plus at a place like this but parking is a challenge. Also a bit expensive. ... $4 for a croissant that was probably a day old. Still the patio seating area is worth it

Great place with a lot of natural light, friendly staff, and electrical outlets if you need to study or charge your phone. Its prices are about as expensive as any other cafe (about $3 or 4 for a small chai, less for regular coffee). Overall, I like the vibe!

Considering that it was open for consuming order on their sidewalk tables it was OK. Normally not at top of my list compared to other coffee stops. Dont ask why.

I come in here nearly every morning. Some days the service is great. Other days it is not. One common theme is that phone customers take priority of in person customers.

Comfortable atmosphere, good food, beverage selection is terrific. They also have a nice selection of wine. Staff is friendly and very helpful.

Delicious food and coffee but the service is not very fast and its a bit more pricey than other places. That being said I go there multiple times a week and their menu is super gluten free friendly.

Im a huge fan of Barriques in general, they have great coffee drinks. But this location is extra nice in the summer, they have windows that open up in the summer to create one large patio.

In times of Corona and Phase 2 in Wisconsin, there was only to go. There was a small porch where you could sit at small tables. Cappuccino was excellent. The food in the paper cup was tasty, but little, but still.
