Americano was watery, breakfast burrito was a pre-made frozen burrito reheated. The bottom of the burrito was rock hard and could not cut through it with a knife. The sticky bun was good but was also rock hard. I had to request it be heated up. My recommendation; find a different spot for coffee and breakfast.

Honestly loved this place. Were visiting from out-of-state and we are big coffee people. Really enjoyed my mocha and came back later for a drip coffee. Both were great and so was the biscuit egg sandwhich and the poppyseed muffin. Staff is very friendly, decor and seating are great and even the music is awesome. Also this place is very LGBTQ+ friendly.

Stopped in on my way home from a road trip. The food was delicious and the coffee too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I absolutely recommend 💜

It had a cozy and inspiring feeling. You can go there to run from the life and just enjoy the comfort it brings but at the same time it gives you inspirations to go back again and with a very tasty coffee show whose the boss.

I love the Coffee Hag! Great fun friendly place with really cool art displayed on the walls, mostly made by locals. Plus they have live music and shows periodically, which is always fun to watch!

Very welcoming place, also Im not a coffee flavor lover unless its like ice cream. The blended specialty drink bees knees made me realize I can love that coffee flavor in coffee when its done right. I had a happy pup yesterday with her pup cup too

I cant say enough about the Coffee Hag! Not only do they have the BEST coffee in town, but they can serve up some unique drinks, and they ALWAYS get it exactly right. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable--I have enjoyed some great recommendations from the lovely baristas, and cant wait to try more new things! The Coffee Hag is a vital and beloved fixture in the community, and as a true local coffee shop should, they are incredible at supporting local artists! In addition to the artwork which always graces their classic exposed-brick walls, they frequently open their super-inclusive home to musicians, drag shows, theatre works, and more. Mankato wouldnt be the same without this place. I love it, and you will, too.

The staff at the Coffee Hag are very kind and considerate. I was looking for a gluten free lunch and they were helpful with the menu and offered me a sample of the soup and potato salad before I made my purchase. The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere cant be beat.

This was one of the first places we went to when we first moved to Mankato. I love trying new coffee shops and this place was recommended to me a few times so I knew we had to go. It’s even better than I expected. I love the coffee and the environment. I also have a deep appreciation for any place that goes out of their way to create a welcoming environment for the LGBT community.

The fugey oat bar at the Coffee Hag makes me feel like I just got a hug from my Grandma Verna.

Latte was decent, however, very hot. Atmosphere was also a little off. Heard great things about Coffee Hag otherwise, & it’s a classic Mankato landmark.

This place is awesome. I got a Cold Brew and my wife got an Americano. Super good coffee. It was also a super cool atmosphere. The big chairs were puffy and comfortable. The exposed brick was beautiful and the art was super cool. We dont live nearby but decided we will be back anyway. We were there at closing so we didnt get to spend too much time, which was disappointing because we didnt want to leave. Only thing Id change would be later hours! Super nice being represented here too. Go here. Its great.

Ordered an egg salad sandwich - ended up being chicken cashew totally would not have ordered this for myself turns out it was delicious! Fantastic fail YUM. Ran out to my car barista ran it out to me, great customer service. Five stars ladies! I’ll be back.

Wonderful place! I stop here often. Food and coffee has always been great. Staff are fantastic as well. You can tell the place is well taken care of and thought is put into every menu item. Quality of coffee is exceptional. Absolute must stop.

Came in from out of town and realized I forgot my Wallet and only had touch pay. They didn’t have touch pay option but Liz who work there paid for my coffee! Can’t express how thankful I was for the act of kindness as I was on a pretty long road trip. Not to mention the coffee was excellent!

They were fast, nice, and the coffee I ordered (the Bees Knees) was delicious! I also liked how eccentric they were. All and all it was a great experience. I would recommend this place for all your coffee fixins if your in town.

They have many drink options but I was looking for my favorite Honey Oatmilk latté and they were happy to make it for me. It was delicious 😋Possibly better than the chain coffee shops. The cookies and treats are all wonderful. I have had sandwiches as well and they are great. Im pretty sure you will love the vibe in this boho coffee shop. Staff was very kind and curtious.

While you might think the excellent service and ambiance is responsible for the 5 stars (and it could be on its own), but the real hero here is the coffee. The foam on my 16 oz. Craft Latte couldnt be creamier, and the beans offer a crisp and robust flavor. Beautiful decor. Beautiful coffee. 5 stars.

I love the atmosphere. Ive only been once and just got a chai but it was tasty and didnt take too long. It has an exposed brick wall with a lot of art that gives it a hipster feel. The servers were very friendly and they have compost-able straws!LGBT friendly vibe

It isnt enough that the Coffee Hag has great coffee; they also make great food. In Covid times, they have a quaint window where they dispense excellent breakfast (highly recommend the biscuit and eggs!!!) The staff are very kind, responsive and have your and their health in mind with their precautions. (Please respect them by approaching the window with a mask on.) Supporting local businesses is all great, but supporting this local business is critical to the character of Mankato and the Old Town neighborhood. Love their food, appreciate excellent service and cant wait to hear music again in your presence!

Best coffee and best carafe in Mankato. If you like sweet try the bees knees and the cubano. Also their egg salad sandwich has apples! So tasty and refreshing.

The Coffee Hag, what can be said about this phenomenal joint other than just that. Its phenomenal, its different, its loving, and its got damn good espresso. From the owners to the customers themselves, this little shop is exploding with character. They have live music events, comedy, and even burlesque shows for the more racy. Art on the wall changes monthly and they offer vegan goodies for a bite to eat. Best coffee shop in the world.

The coffee was good but the service was anything but good. When I walked in I heard staff talking bad about a prior customer. I’m my opinion, for a place to be about equality and kindness the coffee hag wasn’t living up to its morals. Will not be returning after this experience.

Cozy. Staff are very welcoming and open to first timers. Easy to find somewhere to sit. Grounded electrical outlets everywhere, so you dont need to move to charge a laptop. Coffee is very good and professional made. The building is very clean and well kept, both inside and outside. Open mic is very fun to watch. Anyone can participate, whether or not you are a musician. Open mic invites everything and everyone from musicians singing for the first time on a stage to live poetry readings. Overall, I feel that it is one of the few places where I genuinely feel welcomed and accepted. Its a great place to sit and relax to a good book, its great for when I need to go somewhere to get some work done during the day, and its great for when I want to listen to some awesome people performing live!

Great coffee, great people, and great food too! The atmosphere is wonderful. Good place to hang out with friends or study. There is often a band or musician on weekends, and sometimes they have comedy or an open mic.

It wasnt the worst coffee joint Ive ever been to, but it definitely wasnt much to write home about. Upon entering the place, youre inundated with progressive feel good messages and imagery about people and the environment- which, generally, I dont mind. But they use a boat load of single use plastics. So.

Loved this place! As an out of towner, I search for the best local coffee shops and this did not disappoint! We came back 3 times! The banana bread and vegan donuts were awesome, (like slap your grandma awesome)! Coffee and tea were excellent as well. But, the staff was the best! Love the vibe and cant wait to come back!!!

This is easily my favorite place in Mankato. Not only is the coffee and service great, but the seating area is welcoming. I love that the Hag is so welcoming to all backgrounds, and I also like that the artwork is always changing. The quiche is amazing.

The Coffee Hag has been a positive experience since 2006. Interesting and original art created by local artists. Weekends provide light and lively entertainment featuring a variety of styles. The whole experience was very nice! I loved how much they care about the environment. The coffee was fantastic and my breakfast sandwich was also very good. It is clearly loved by the locals as it was pretty busy for a Monday morning!

Loved this place. Awesome food. Visited again last week. Despite it being incredibly busy. Coffee is served fast and the food is amazing. Went back in October as well. Think we literally went there every day. They didn’t disappoint.

It is one of the local coffee shops with its own unique atmosphere that I love so much. A place to enjoy a good talk, local music or a game of trivia. And always with a good cup of java and sometimes a treat. One of my favorites!

This place is like going into your favorite cool Aunt’s house! Everyone was cheerful, but in a cool way, coffee was hot and tasty! I think a Weezer song was playing when I was there. I had a dark chocolate mocha—not too sweet but perfect. And I tried a Nordic waffle with peanut butter and bananas! Gooey, warm and yum!

Cool place! It has kind of a hipster vibe here, which I dig. There are frequent live music events there from local talent. It’s also a great place to study, and of course the coffee is great!

I have celiac disease, so I can’t have gluten. I called and asked if their flavored coffees were gluten free (some coffee beans contain gluten) and they were so rude and argued with me. Their customer service is horrible.

I used to come here all the time in high school, but its so much cleaner and nicer now! I loved it when it was a hole in the wall, but as an adult, I really appreciate the clean bathrooms and overall feel of the place as it is now. They still have the same great Italian sodas and the always delicious vegetarian food options, plus local art for sale and local artists performing regularly. Its a relatively quiet place, good for doing homework during the week days, but can get pretty busy and is understandably loud during live performances.

Distracted by the long grapes, I accidentally ordered an Italian cream soda and I LOVED IT! Also ordered a delish Caramel Nut coffee. 10/10 would caff again💯

The staff was friendly. The coffee was good. The atmosphere was fun. It was the perfect hipster coffee shop. It was so busy it was was a tight squeeze to fit everyone.

The atmosphere and employees were inclusive, inviting, warm, and generally fantastic. We got a cold press, soy latte, and regular dark roast and all were delicious, well-made and worth what we paid. Will definitely be stopping again on our way through.

Coffee is great no doubt. However, what makes the Hag the best coffee shop in town is they built a community around their business. They built the kind of atmosphere that is rare to come by in the Midwest. I go because of the crowd it attracts and the wonderful employees they have. Even if all they sold was decaf Dollar General coffee I would still pick the Hag over any of Mankatos other shoppes. Thumbs ups

My first experience was not at all the greatest but my second was out of this world. The atmosphere is wonderful as are the workers and products available. I can not wait to go back for future visits!!!!

Favorite coffee= Extra spicy Mayan Sun :). Positive vibes throughout the shop with friendly, helpful and down to earth staff. Theyre always doing diverse events to bring in an ever changing crowd; such as an open mic night for poetry (and I did a couple freestyle raps on poetry night:) #MattyG

Loved this little coffee house! Excellent coffee and tastefully respectful decor. They even had gluten free cookies, and a stage, though no one happened to be performing at the time. Still, if I lived in this town, I could feel myself spending hours in this place every weekend.

This review will simply state the excellent things that others have said about this shop. They are a very forward-thinking and interesting coffee shop with great selection of beverage options. They even have local artist come and play. They position themselves not only as a business but as a culture builder for our town. This is exactly what this city needs, and we need more of this!
