Dropped off an amp to find a ground fault. Their amp tech was super quick (got it diagnosed and fixed within a couple hours). Very fair on price for the work done. Always a fun staff to go in and talk to. Pretty great selection. Will always have some random gems in their used section. Best music store Ive found in Southern Minnesota.

My daughter(11yrs old) and I went in just to look around and price a few things and both Gentlemen working there were very helpful yet not intrusive or hovering she was even allowed to play a few songs on one of their pianos even though we made it clear that we wouldnt be buying anything...we did end up buying some low end harmonicas to play around with...was a very welcoming environment and the employees were obviously relaxed and happy! If I ever get around to trying to learn guitar again I will definitely buy here!

Bought my first guitar today. Excited to get into it and learn to play. Was helped by Zach who was awesome. Was very patient, informative and a good dude. Great place and will be back in the future for lessons.

A store with great guitars but terrible owner. Most guitars you buy should come with extra stuff like free straps, batteries, and tools but he removes them and sells them separately. If thats what he does with new gear imagine what else. To adjust your neck which takes 2 minutes hell charge you $10 and to replace one string is $2 when a pack is 6.When it comes to making any deals its the owner lining his pocket. Also very interesting to see him hit on customers and his piano teacher in uncomfortable and inappropriate ways. The staff are great but there is a high turnover there for a reason...

I went in looking for a keyboard. Their selection is quite small (only Yamaha, which makes it impossible to compare similar models from different brands), and the customer service was terrible. The man helping me just kept demonstrating all the different sounds they could make instead of really explaining differences in quality or answering other questions. He also acted demeaning towards me as a woman - even though I was the one looking for a keyboard, he kept trying to talk to my boyfriend (who doesnt play piano at all) to sell the instrument. He even started telling my boyfriend which model he would buy for his daughter as if I was a child just starting out instead of an adult with over 10 years of experience with the instrument. I would not recommend this store to any woman who expects to be treated as an equal human being.

This is a great place to buy an epiphone les paul. The sales staff is amazing. The problem lies with a manager who is willing to lie to customers about the ship date of products they choose to order from the store. I seriously would rate this place lower, but the rest of the staff are A+.

I bought a guitar there four years ago and now has some issues with it. They looked up my guitar in their inventory and put in a warranty request. They worked on the guitar to figure out what was wrong. They have knowledge, friendly staff and a nice selection of guitars, amps, drums, mixer boards, and much much more.

Stopped in to look for a peg for my guitar and ask about my loose pick-up and within a 1/2 hour I had a replacement peg, fixed pick-up, new strings on it, and the neck was adjusted (a problem I didnt even realize was there - and yes, I can tell the difference!) Good selection of guitars, though they also sell PA, percussion, bases and amps for all needs. They now sell PRS (finally), as well as Fender, Gibson, Taylor and others. Also a good selection of accessories (strings, cables, effects, etc). No boutique products. Not a keyboard shop. Not for band/orchestra. They do have lessons for all. They also service everything.

I love this shop. I love that we have a local guitar shop. BUT... It is extremely cliquey, you are either a regular or your not. They wont give you the time of day if youre not a regular.

Him and another gentleman have been there every time since to help me get my gear situated and answer my amalgam of questions about how to generate the sound Im looking for.Thanks a lot you guys, my band mates and I will be going to Rhapsody exclusively for everything in the future.(PS - I already lost my tuner - got a little drunk for practice - will be coming in for a new one.)Last thing here: Dont read the garbage reviews by the confederate flag-waving neckbeards and take them for anything. I have been playing guitar for nearly 40 years, many of those years semi professionally and professionally. So needless to say I am quite particular about my guitars and how they are built and setup. For a couple of decades while living out west I used an extremely well know luthiery business for all of my guitar work. After moving back to Mankato (my hometown) I was worried I would not be able to find someone that could live up to the standards of this afore mentioned Luthiery. Jason at Rhapsody music has proved me wrong. He is an amazing talent!!! I recently took a chance on a custom built guitar that I purchased from a company over seas. Upon arrival the guitar had major play-ability issues along with multiple build problems in general. Jason took the guitar into his care and transformed it into an amazing instrument! So amazing that it is now contending for the number 1 spot in my guitar arsenal. He has great knowledge and skill, and he communicated with me through out the process, never leaving me in doubt! And he is a pretty cool dude to boot! Highly recommend his services and Rhapsody music in general... thanks Jason!!!Tony

Pretty good selection of acoustic guitars but the electrics are an assortment of mostly junk. Decent basses, decent selection of P.A. equipment. A nice little corner of used gear.The problem is the professionalism of the staff. Typically no one cares if youre there nor are they particularly knowledgeable. I also find the prices too high.Compared to Mankatos other music store, Scheitles, Rhapsody is a distant second.In sumation, Rhapsody is OK, but not great. As an active musician and music teacher in Mankato I would not recommend Rhapsody first.Edit: Over the last couple years Rhapsody has gotten much better, in my opinion. Their stock has diversified a bit, their acoustic room is very nice, and the staff seems to have improved. Ive felt welcomed and encouraged to look around or ask questions the last few times Ive been there. I now recommend Rhapsody over Scheitles for all things guitar related.

Started going to this store a lot when i was younger and i had never bought anything til after about a year. But everytime i wanted to test an instrument the staff were always genuine about it. But the owner Howard Mock always got snooty with words like “only can play them if your gonna buy” or “do you have money” and i always couldnt stand the guy. One of the staff named “Val” was fantastic with my first bass sale and gave me a fantastic offer for my GK amp and later on a great deal for my Fender amp. One of the staff i forgot his name got really cocky with me with a past bad review and almost refused me a sale because he couldnt handle the fact his boss was an idiot. So ill honeslty never return. I would highly reccomend that you either shop online or go to Schietels. Schietels isnt super great either but you dont have to worry about terrible customer service. But Rhapsody is very notorious for overpriced garbage and have little to no selection of instruments. If you love fender this may be your place. But if your more into ESP and or Ibanez than your SOL so tell you now AVOID RHAPSODY!!
