I go about 20 miles across the metro to get to this shop. I probably pass 100 competitors. Why do I do this? First and most important, they honestly try to save me money. For example, by making warranty claims if a product they installed wears prematurely, by repairing parts like exhaust sections where they could easily sell me $$ new parts, by passing along deals that they find, etc. I have 100% trust. Second, they deliver finished work when promised. Third, I think their charges are pretty reasonable.

Very honest mechanics that do excellent, quality work!! Both times weve taken our vehicle to them, Mike and Steve have taken the time to help us understand their service recommendations, going so far as to tell us which were priorities and which werent worth investing in due to the age and wear & tear of our vehicle! We were especially impressed by this because many other places have told us we needed to fix something immediately, clearly just looking to take our money. As such, the sincerity and solid business practices at Carlsons were really meaningful to us. Were very grateful to have found this great local shop!

I didnt like being charged for brake inspection when I wound up getting the work done there. It was almost $25 with tax as well. Somehow all their repair suggestions came to over $3700. I wont go there again. I dont trust them.

I had an excellent experience at Carlson Auto. I needed an oil change / tune up before a long drive, and Mike was especially friendly and helpful in prioritizing my cars needs (urgent, necessary, recommended). They loaned me a car so I could go to work while they worked on my car, and I found the prices and service to be competitive. Definitely recommend this place for your auto work! I wish I had found it sooner.

These guys are great! Steve was very professional & upfront. I fully expected the repair to take a few days due to ordering parts. However, they found them nearby and got right to work. Replacing both U-joints only took them 2 hours and at a reasonable price. Highly recommend this business.

I was traveling from out of town, broke down in front of this shop fortunately they are pretty much 5 stars and AAA approved so I felt comfortable, turns out I was right it was an expensive repair but reasonable for what they had to do, they got me right in and fixed in about a day or so and came under the quoted price, car seems fine now, I would highly recommend this company for any of your auto repair needs. Great service and attention to detail. Had a timing belt replaced and they also fixed a rattling heat shield for no charge. Price was fair and the coupon on their web site made it even better. Local pick up and drop off is very convenient too. My new go-to garage.

Brake issues and AC, Mike said no problem...drop off we will call with, diagnostic...Mike called with report, brakes had a stick stuck otherwise all ok...stick was removed...AC found with bad expansion valve...Great diagnostic...okd to repair, fixed same day, picked up that evening...my wife is very happy, Thank You, we will be back

They were fantastic! Went in for a simple tire job, it was done within the hour. I was never treated better by any other mechanics. I witnessed them deal with several different customers in the time I was waiting, and every one of them received stellar care. I have been coming to Carlson Auto for years; I started to work on my own car so I havent been there in a couple years. The other day I had a leaky slave cylinder resulting in a dead clutch pedal as I was driving past so I limped my car into their parking lot. Since I have a foreign vehicle, I wanted to call around to get the best price possible for the work that needed to be done. I spoke to Steve, who I didnt know was the owner at that time. Not only were they able to match a quote by another auto shop. They physically came to my residence to do a quick inspection on my vehicle for no additional charge. Theyve always talked to me in a very positive manner that included a smile. I was shocked the owner actually took time out of his day to come inspect my vehicle with another technician. The customer service was outstanding, and they didnt come across like they were trying to get as much money out of me as they can. I plan on recommending anyone I know who may need some car repairs., and yes I made a personal contact in my phone just for them in case I need them in the future. A well satisfied customer!!!

My coolant system/transmission cooler failed while driving on I-94. Carlson Auto was at the next exit, so I pulled off and parked my truck. This was Easter Sunday. I left my keys in the overnight drop box and called for a ride home. I received a call first thing Monday morning and they started working on my truck right away. With no appointment I expected at least a few days before they could even look at it. Diagnosis, estimate, and work was all done within two days. Excellent work, great people, and the final bill came in under the estimate. I couldnt be happier with the experience. Highly recommended!

Carlson Auto worked with me, patiently, so that the chain auto services insurance company could look at the damages. They took their sweet time, and yet Carlson remained patient and very helpful. Over the top customer service. As a woman, going in to car places and repair shops is not always fun. I felt no hint of dumbing down or being pushed over. Worked with Mark and felt like his only customer through the entire process. He genuinely cared and advised us based on what he would do. He didnt add in unnecessary repairs and in fact save us money by not doing repairs we originally thought we needed. He kept his word, kept in contact, and took the time to explain and re explained when needed. This is the type of business and type of people that are in it for the long haul. Very good service. I took my vehicle for oil change plus a noise that I hear at times. Couldnt replicate it before them before dropping it off. They also couldnt replicate the noise, but mended a part where they felt a rattling sound is coming from, without charging anything extra. And 3Mmers have a 10% discount on displaying ID card. They also offer rides and pickup to 3M.

The tech here will go above and beyond your expectations. He can explain the problem thoroughly and clearly so that you will have peace of mind and know what was done and what parts were replaced in your car.

Finally an auto service company I can trust. Very knowledgeable, always willing to squeeze me in on short notice when something comes up. And reasonably priced!

I would highly recommend the Steve, Mark and staff of mechanics at Carlson Auto of Woodbury. They have helped me keep my older Jeep in great shape and running well over the last 3 years. They will get you in for an appointment, provide a loaner car as needed, get the problem identified, make sure you approve of the needed changes and get the repair done on time. I called up early wed mourning saying I have a coolant leak not sure where its coming from they said bring down and they ran a coolant pressure test showed that it was leaking from the water outlet also they found where oil was leaking too and replaced a oil pressure switch which was great I had no idea that was leaking also. After going to a major chain autoshop to get the ac for my suv fixed with no success I searched around and came across Carlson Auto. Took the suv in and talked to Mark the service advisor and told him everything that went wrong at the previous shop and what I knew could be wrong with the ac. Taking into account that this was around 5 pm and the shop closes at 6 pm plus there were multiple cars already being worked on, the guys at Carlson still took the time to inspect what was wrong with the ac. Alittle before 6 I get a call from Mark telling me whats wrong and that they will get it fixed. AC has been great so far and Mark was polite and knowledgeable. Couldnt be happier with these guys and the work they do.THANKS FOR THE THANK YOU CARD GUYS!

I did my brakes for toyota corolla put the ceramics brakes. Excellent. Toyota showroom asked for $500 for normal brakes but with ceramic brakes this was an excellent deal and that too much lower prices.. Excellent service ... i will go for carlson auto near 3M Livinn anytime...
