Had a transmission replacement on a Nissan Rogue done with Brian and his team. The job was done quick, done well, and for a decent price (+Double the warranty of other shops). In my case, I had gotten a quote 3 months before I actually got around to getting the repair done. Even though the cost had gone up in that time, Brian still gave me my originally quoted price.
Brian is a stand up guy. He was very understanding, informative, efficient and nice. He is honest and you can tell he genuinely wants to help folks get back to driving their vehicles as quickly and safely as possible. Very refreshing experience. Highly recommended!!!
Staff was friendly and helpful. However, they had never heard of the transmission problem I was having with my car - that was diagnosed by the dealership (which is odd since they have transmission in the name???)… Other than that, the service was done quick and well!
The owner is a great guy. He is very honest which is something you really want when it comes to diagnosing your car repairs. The mechanics as a whole are a great team. Cant say enough positive things.
Great place to bring your vehicle the customer service is excellent
I have been going to this Aamco for years and I really love the friendliness and reasonable pricing!!!
Mechanics are no good. Go in for one problem and leave with three more problems.
Great service, tested the car and got it in the same day.
The owner, Brian, is very friendly and trustworthy. He stands behind his shops work and I’m grateful for all his help and being so understanding of my situation. I had my transmission rebuilt here and months later experienced some car issues. Even though it was determined to be unrelated to the transmission his skilled mechanic was able to find the problem and fix it quickly and at no charge. Both my experiences were very positive and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone! Thank you again!
Brian the owner was outstanding with his service. The guys fixed my car concerns and were helpfulwith a discount. Very professional and kind.Check these guys out they do great work!
I would not recommend this place. They should be ashamed and embarrassed of their service. I brought my truck in because my transmission lines were leaking. The first time I brought it in Brian said they replaced a couple of the lines, I paid for that, brought it home, but it was still leaking. I brought it back and they cut all the transmission lines trying to find the leak. Brian then called me telling me I needed a new torque converter cooler. He asked me to YouTube how to fix it, find another mechanic to fix it, or try to find the part myself because they could not find a replacement. Otherwise, I would need to get it towed out. I ended up having to pay a tow truck to tow my truck from Aamco to the Ram dealer with all of my transmission lines, brand new starter, and torque converter cooler IN A BOX. Ridiculous!Thankfully the dealer mechanic was able to put my truck back together, order a new torque converter cooler, and fix the leak. The dealer shop was even shocked by this situation and Aamcos work. They said in order to fix the lines the whole cab of the truck had to be taken off and there was nothing even wrong with the torque converter cooler. Aamco did not do that. Aamco broke the converter and other transmission lines by not performing the work correctly and it ended up costing me a lot of extra unnecessary money. I honestly dont think they know what they are doing. I would never go back to this place again nor recommend them to anyone else.
Super friendly good communication did a great job installing the break booster in my jeep. Will definitely use them in the future.
Very good place very reasonable price really good guys they fix my transmission and they showed me what was wrong with my car and transmission. Brian also help me on using my warranty to get my transmission fixed very Awesome smart guy I would definitely go back here again.
Amazing service. Would definitely recommend to anyone with car problems!
Unexpected transmission issue. They got me in on very short notice and had my vehicle repaired and on budget in 24 hours.
AAMCO has never disappointed me. They give great service, and Brian is trustworthy and reliable. I went in for an oil leak, which they fixed. After I picked it up, I realized they missed one. I went back in and they repaired it under warranty for free! I definitely recommend this place!
Had little issue with leaving outside. Someone tried to jack my vehicle. And tried to break in to my vehicle. Was almost trouble to have towed back to my place. Because key wouldnt work
Honest shop. Reasonable pricing.
My vehicle was shifting very jerky and I suspected my transmission was the cause so I took my car to Aamco to get expert care and that is what I received. Brian and his team of experienced mechanics were very thorough and found My car to have more than transmission trouble. First it needed a body control module which is where the transmission failure codes from the computer are stored. They replaced that and found out I needed a new transmission. I am so thankful they could fix everything without me having to take it to the dealer. Brian went above and beyond to make sure it was fixed and running properly and was a pleasure to deal with. Great customer service! My car is now running better than ever. I was very impressed with the overall experience and will recommend this repair place to anyone I know.
Rock stars. I will never take my vehicle anywhere else. Knowledge and integrity.
This is our local shop. We have use their services multiple times and they are always up front and honest.
Brian is the owner 35 years experience
The reviews are spot on. Brian the owner is amazing! Friendly, understanding. He was able to work with me on my truck that needed some transmission work done. He had my truck towed to his shop and also let me store my truck there which I very grateful for. After taking the bad parts out showed me what needed to be replaced. He is a honest fair man and wish there were more mechanic shops like his.
The guys here are awesome. Brian has done everything he can to get our vehicle done so we can have it as soon as possible. They worked great with our warranty company and the place where we bought our vehicle from. Thank you guys so much for everything. We greatly appreciate everything.Keep up the great work
This is a great repair shop. The owner is courteous, straightforward and honest. I thought I was in need of an expensive repair, but they found that my problem was actually not what I thought and would cost much less to fix . I plan on continuing to use them as my primary repair shop based on my experience.
Excellent service.
Absolutely hands down the best service Ive ever had at a mechanic shop. Very forward told you what need to be replaced and then what can wait. Truly professional . Thanks for taking care of my sisters van
Brian and his mechanics were outstanding. They went way beyond what most mechanics do. It was a job that baffled them but they figured out the problem that did not read or show a code. It was something that Ford screwed up when making the 2006 F150 4x4s. My truck is my baby. Brian kept in contact with us updated us on what was going on. Very Affordable and well worth it. Thank you Brian for going above and beyond and for fixing my truck... AAMCO is very highly recommended.
Clean shop friendly Staff
My car was making a grinding noise. At first I kept thinking it was rust on my rotors but after a week of driving it was still there. I went into AAMCO and was greeted by Brian the manager/owner. He instantly looked at my car and fixed the issue (brake shield). I was in and out just like that. Very professional and welcoming. I definitely recommend his shop for work.
Overall, a good experience there. Only got a transmission fluid and oil change, but the owner was very friendly and honest.
My transmission needed to be replaced. I dont make a living without my vehicle running perfectly. Brian, the owner, found a (very) slightly used transmission and installed it within one day and had me up and running in no time, saving me a handsome sum. When the additional problem of a faulty module (not something they replaced initially) arose, he took care of that quickly and stood behind his work and his warranty. I will take my vehicle back any time if I need more critical and urgent work done... or even just an oil change. This AAMCO is among the most professional shops with whom I have done business and Brian is a rare, honest shop owner.
Had a leak on my 2009 Ford F-150 transmission. Took it to a dealer whom declared it was not leaking (but what was the puddle on my garage floor?). Took it to AAMCO: it was difficult to pinpoint, but Brian and his team came through and resolved the issue. No finger-pointing, no excuses, just straight-forward and honest service!
Fantastic service and quality work! I needed some fast work done on breaks. They got me in that day and had my car done quickly. Prices were inline with my expectations and they were extremely friendly. Brian, the owner, even gave me a ride to my house after I dropped my car off. Will definitely return the next time my car needs service.
I got the name of this place from my usual mechanic that I trust. I had a significant problem with my wheels wobbling on the highway and concerned it was a transmission problem. They took it for a drive and it was a simple explanation that they wouldnt let me pay them for. Since I work near them now if a real problem comes up I know where to go.Update: Ive had several maintenance and repairs done over last couple years, always through, reasonable price. Today my car started to make a terrible noise, fortunately was nearby and able to be worked in. Learned it was a pebble in the break pad, simply addressed. Another place could have charged me a lot and I wouldnt have know the difference. Again his honesty is appreciated. My girlfriend had a similar experience, what could have been a significant electrical problem was fairly and reasonable addressed.
My Nissan cube blew its transmission (a common problem with Nissans). It wasnt worth replacing the transmission, so I decided to donate the vehicle. Bryan (the owner) was exceedingly helpful and tolerant of my vehicle being on his property. He was super helpful even after he was not going to sell any of his services. That kind of integrity is hard to find and i will be bringing my next vehicle to him for brakes and oil changes for sure.
My warranty company approved me for transmission work but were only willing to pay the fair market rate. Aamco is charging 3 times the price of the part.Thieves, Ill go elsewhere.
Im very pleased with the service I received today.
Fast and great service
Took my vehicle in for transmission warranty work in the Fall. Was a difficult process but was completed successfully. Got my vehicle back and noticed my gear shifter was loose and wouldnt stay locked in a gear. I didnt think much of this as my vehicle still worked properly and I didnt want to deal with more of a headache to get it fixed. In January, I could not get my car out of park of park no matter what I did. A few days later, I learned that I can go in the console of my vehicle and press the shift lock override to get my car out of park. I took my vehicle to an AAMCO closer to my house and they assessed the situation. I was told the new issue was related to my transmission but had no correlation with the warranty work that was previously done, though it seemed suspicious to me. The second location quoted me $1,000+ to fix this. I do not have the money to fix this issue at the moment so I now have to press my shift lock override every time I want to get out of park, a huge hassle.
Great work!!!
Brian was able to get me in when I had the time. I had my transmission fluid changed . Service was friendly and informative .
Quick, Fast and no strings attached. Fixed what needed to be fixed. And for a unbeatable price!
The owner, Brian, personally assisted a female friend of mine. She was relieved to find out that she did not have a transmission problem after Brian performed a free basic diagnostic. I have known Maplewood Aamco for years and highly recommend them.-Dave
Wonderful service with a big smile! Great prices and services! I have more than 313,000 miles on my 2005 Silverado and I have been coming to this Aamco for years!Great job guys!
Took a couple days to troubleshoot my problems but the service was completed as promised and done professionally. Very responsive to a minor issue I brought up. Great experience!
Brian is very knowledgeable and will try to help you any way he can.
Just want to thank the team at AAMCO maplw for helping me out on my F150 driveshaft replacement. They went out of their way to help me fix my truck.
Honest, friendly service. HIGHLY recommend!
Ive gone here several times over quite a few years to have my car worked on. Theyve always been straight with me with a fair price. Once when I had a problem with a Drivers side wheel bearing they had fixed that went bad again (from another issue with my car) they called it in and got it replaced for free under warranty, saving me some cash. The bottom line is they have been honest with me over the years, even when management changed.
Very shotty work. Cant weld properly. Machanics seem to be not very well trained. Not sure if they are certified. If they are must be a damn easy test. NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE WORK, BUT THEY TALK A GOOD TALK.
I have had several Transmission rebuild here and they have always done awesome work and usually before estimated repair time, great warranty!
My experience with AAMCO in Maplewood was very bad. First time there and that will also be my last time. I needed my transmission replaced and a new clutch in a couple years ago. Since I was going to school and working at the time I didnt have time to do it myself, so I thought AAMCO would be a good place to go to after reading some good reviews, but I was wrong. I had an aftermarket clutch in my car and I asked them if the clutch that they were providing better than my aftermarket clutch that was previously installed. They all said yep same or even better. I went over this part explaining to them again and again that I have an aftermarket clutch 3-4 times with them, but what did you know I looked at the receipt and it said OEM Replacement. I was lied too and also they had no knowledge of what I was talking about even though I tried to explain everything as simple as possible. As the work was going on they did a wheel bearing on my car without even informing me that the work was needed to be done, yet they just went ahead and did it without my consent and then charged me for it. They never updated me on the progress of my car like they said they would unless I called them. Upon paying for it I asked the front desk guy how many miles were on the used transmission that they threw in my car he just said ehhh I think its around where your mileage is which was 154k miles, so I paid 1.6k for a shitty transmission. When he said that I knew this place was just trying make a quick buck out of me since I was young at the time. I just wanted to get everything paid and done with and never go back. So I paid 3.5k in total for a shitty transmission that they didnt even know themselves how many miles were on it, a clutch that they claimed that was better than my aftermarket clutch even though I repeatedly explained to them what kind of clutch I had and work that was done without my consent or even informing me about it until after the work was done. Also the clutch didnt even last me a year. The transmission grind after while. Then after a while the tranny blew, so I would assume the transmission had more than 200k miles on it. They showed me how they had to use the transmission mounting as leverage to pry the transmission from the engine, so there was damage there. Since the tranny and the clutch went again I took my own time to do everything myself. Doing that saved me 2.5k. I sourced out a used tranny for $500 130k miles, a new Exedy oem Stage 1 clutch for $200, $70 to resurface the flywheel locally, installation all by myself with a few helps from friends and internet forums and 12 hours of spare time to drop everything, install the parts and put everything back. Overall I will never go to any AAMCO shop ever again and I will tell people, friends and family to never go there for their service. Horrible experience. I would give it 0 out of 5 stars if I can, but I cant so that 1 star is just there for no reason at all.
