First time here and Im already planning my next visit. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The vegan options are delicious and its a great place to work.

Everyone is very nice!!! Coffee is good, atmosphere is calm. I sat outside today because it’s such a beautiful day.They have a “pay it forward” board where you can go in and grab a free coffee on someone who paid it forward. 10/10 will go again!

Every single time I visit Foundation Grounds, my experience tops the last. The people who work in this establishment are of the kindest, most generous, humans around.

Ive been coming here for years for the delicious coffee but Im so happy I tried the lunch! I had the sweet potato burrito with a honey lavender latte and everything was perfect. Couldnt ask for a nicer way to spend the afternoon.

Excellent coffee and on a nice street in Maplewood. Great for studying. Also, if you are vegan or vegetarian, this place serves some dishes for you! I suggest the sweet potato burrito and an iced dirty chai tea latte. You will not be upset with my recommendation.

Overall a nice place. The drinks are good and theres plenty of free parking nearby. At times seating can be hard to come by. Also, for anyone needing to do homework, there are a few tables near outlets, but not many so come prepared.

I have been coming to this local coffee shop regularly for over a year, and have always been pleased with the quality of the food & drinks and friendly atmosphere from the employees. Today, however, was another story. I told the cashier I was in a hurry, and she advised the quickest food option for me. Rather than get started on my food, I watched the 2 kitchen workers stand around talking and laughing, eating chips while dipping them into a large container of sauce. The barista even mentioned to the kitchen staff & cashier that there were several people waiting for food, but to no avail. After waiting for literally 10 minutes (no exaggeration), I asked about my food, and they finally pulled their masks up, put the bag of chips away, covered the sauce container, and made my food. I worked in the food service industry for several years, including a coffee/breakfast spot, and this behavior would have NEVER been acceptable at my past jobs. The coffee and food is good, but do not come to this place if you are expecting quick and professional customer service.

For some companies to claim to have an undying devotion to high caliber espresso machines, fair trade beans and single sourced this and that there hasnt been enough action on the coffee scene for the a primary ingredient, milk. Milk is a huge part of coffee culture, so to overlook it is just asinine in my opinion. Foundation Grounds has all the above AND the milk covered in an exceptional way! I have been looking for a place that made espresso drinks with almond milk but they are very few and far between. Then comes this jewel; it was a light ordeal to park (thats Maplewood for you) but Im so glad I found this spot and Im proud to declare this is going to be a new coffee Mecca for me.I went in and ordered a Mocha. Normally, I would get hazelnut or toffee-nut because a lot of places Mocha is rather bitter for my liking. Something told me to just go ahead and give it a try on its own (I was already getting almond milk - so I was winning). Before I could sit down and make a phone call my order was up. A lovingly, handcrafted drink with very beautiful artwork was piping hot and ready for me.I go to stir my drink and I lick the stirrer to gauge how much sugar Ill need to add. In my mind oh boy they have done it, I dont need any sugar - what in Sam Hill is going on? It was so good I had to call my mom. It was so good that I called over the Barista and told him that the drink that he just hand crafted up for me was ri-damn-diculous (in a good way)!!! I told him I was frustrated with other places not serving almond milk and also about how taken aback I was at how delicious the Mocha was without any extra additives. This place truly uses premium ingredients and that was apparent straight away.I cant wait to go back and try some of the awesome food items that are on the menu. The customer service here is impeccable. They were about to close and they told me they dont kick anybody out. It really felt homey and relaxed in this charming location; lots of comfy seating and distinctive seating arrangements so everyone wasnt corralled together.Will I come here every day? Due to the vicinity issues, I cant. Will I go out of my way to come here when Im in the area? I certainly will. Will I tell the world and tell friends about my newfound love? You know this man! In my book this is my number one coffee spot and it will take a whole lot for someone to change that (maybe Matthew McConaughey will open up a place here and serve coffee himself; heck he might, he is doing car commercials now).

I recently visited Maplewood with my wife and wanted to grab a cup of coffee, so we found Foundation Grounds. The house coffee was good, but we noticed that some workers were not wearing gloves when restocking pastries, which is in front of the customers. To add to this, my wife and I parked in the church parking lot behind the business (little to no parking in the area) and walked through an alley alongside the building to get to our car. We noticed that there was a sewage issue that led to beneath their building that appeared to be flooded with human fecal matter and toilet paper. From the pastries to the stench of the stairs near where we parked, we will most likely not return.

Good coffee, yummy pastries, good service. A nice place to hang out or get some work done.

We have seen FoGro evolve and change for the better over the past few years. The remodel provides a clean and cosy feel.As always great baked goods and delicious coffee!

One of the best selections of breakfast burritos and sandwiches that you can buy. If you didnt know better, you would think that you had a chef in the kitchen preparing Gourmet each morning. The coffee is very good, and while it is hard to distinguish excellent from great coffee, the atmosphere of this establishment makes a morning outing outstanding. Seating can be limited but it is typically not a big deal. What makes this place so good, is the combination of great food, with good coffee, a perfect environment, in a great location. So... It is the combination of all of these things but make it a place to return. There is a rewards program for purchasing coffee and the availability of coffee condiments is on par. Typically, there is a fair mix of casual encounters, with business meetings, and the single person enjoying a meal or drink.

Experience here was okay. caramel cappuccino was meh. kinda big for a cap and pretty milky. not too bad but there are a bunch of better places nearby imo. super FRIENDLY staff! inside seating looks really nice, though for whenever it’s open again (might already be, it’s been a while since we went). they’ve also got a bunch of PATIO seating.

If you are in the area, I highly recommend! The staff is beyond kind and helpful as well. I have a great experience everytime I visit!

The best thing about this place was us leaving. Overpriced food and the 11teen freaks working there was too much.

A rather typical coffee shop with good service and a plethora of vegan options from pastries to sandwiches and drinks. If I lived in the area, I would become a regular.

Had the iced latte which I really like as well as a bagel, both were really good. The herb cream cheese was excellent. Nice sitting area outside and people were respectful and social distanced. The employees are really friendly and wear masks and gloves.

Cozy coffeehouse located in Maplewood. Great assortment of caffeinated beverages as well as kombucha on tap! Foundation Grounds is also a great place to grab a bite to eat as well. This coffeehouse is set up for a great place to meet friends and catch up or cozy up in leather chair and read a book.

I’ve been to this coffee shop several times in the past and I’ve never experienced anything like my last visit. To begin I felt as though the gentlemen at the counter was somewhat rude when asking for the order of my friend and me. Once he took the order, he took it incorrectly(I asked for 2% milk and got whole instead). Then he told me my total, but once I received my receipt via email it showed a tipped amount I didn’t authorize. He didn’t even ask me if I wanted a physical receipt, I did reached out once I was asked about my experience but have yet to hear back. This really upsets me because I do enjoy the coffee there. I also didn’t understand why he would high five one of this co workers after taking my order( it made me feel like it was regarding me)

Wonderful coffee shop. The shop is your standard cofee affair with a good selection of options. They sea to know what they are doing and there are good descriptions for the coffees. I will definitely return.

Everything is so good. Coffees, teas, smoothies, food, even kombucha on tap. They have a few vegan options that have unfortunately decreased during the pandemic, but still a wonderful neighborhood spot.

New favorite shop in stl! has such a community feel and they make all of their syrups in house, and it really shows in the flavor. all of the baristas were mega sweeties who were very knowledgable about the menu! you definitely want to check this place out

I was pretty bland when I was ordering because I am now 30 so I dont know what happened I suddenly became an idiot when reading menus, but the cashier was super nice and helped me with no judgments when I asked for just a cup of coffee. After I ordered I realized how dumb I must of sounded. Thanks for not embarrassing me😃💖

I was able to park, walk in get assistance with my coffee selection and a snack and get out in a few short minutes without feeling rushed. This is a quaint venue and I will be back real soon.

I ordered an iced honey lavender latte and it was amazing! I also got a vegan cinnamon coffee cake which was delicious. I want to brag on their employees because I was just sitting outside at their seating and drinking my latte when a man walks bye and started talking to me and hitting on me. I kept saying no thank you and politely declining. He finally got the message and left. There was other customers at other tables so I felt safe but I turned around and an employee was standing by the trash can and asked me if that guy was bothering me and he asked if I was okay. He definitely got an A+ from me for not only making delicious coffee but also watching out for young women just trying to enjoy their drink outside on a beautiful day. I’ll definitely be back.

Not only do they have delicious coffee and lots of delicious food options, the staff are wonderful. I was in this morning (11/9) with my 4-month-old. One staff member noticed I was struggling to carry my latte while holding the baby so she came around the counter and carried it to my table. A few minutes later, my baby pulled my full latte off the table and it spilled all over the floor. One of the staff came and mopped it up and was so sweet and gracious about it. She then said theyd bring me another coffee and when I said she didnt need to do that, she said, Its just coffee! and brought me another.Its hard being out with a baby sometimes and I appreciated how sweet and understanding the staff at Foundation Grounds were today. Ive enjoyed it every time Ive been but this was an exceptional experience.

First time visiting and I wasnt disappointed. Decided to meet a friend here for coffee and we loved it. We tried the bagels and cream cheese and cappuccino. The bagels were fresh and the coffee was amazing. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Ill will definitely be back for the coffee and to try some of the other foods they offer. All in all great experience.

Like the space. I enjoyed an oat milk cardamom latte. Yum. I like the pastry choices...overall a great place to hangout or get some work done.

My favorite local coffee shop - great menu (with an all day breakfast option). Love their espresso blend, which is actually a house blend made for FroGro from local coffee Blueprint. Staff is always helpful and super nice. It’s always a treat to come here!

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The tofu burrito was scrumptious. They serve blueprint coffee. I can tell its good quality, it just doesnt suit my taste. I like the roasted taste of coffee. Blueprint coffee has more if a sour taste to it that I dont care for.

My dad and I go here maybe once a month for lunch as a treat, since the food is a little expensive but always excellent. The MapleGood Tuna is my favorite sandwich and the Goo Balls and scones are great. Very pleasant atmosphere to have a lavender cappuccino and people watch.

This is my favorite coffee shop. They have vegan option snacks which is great for when I take my kids with milk allergies. I go about once a week and love to just sit in the welcoming environment and sip my coffee. It is a very relaxed place.

For as busy as it is on this Sunday morning, it is still relatively quiet and you are easily able to hear the people youre seated with without raising your voices. The Pho-Grey Tea is outstanding with hints of lavender and brewed to perfection. The Morning Glory cake was the perfect amount of sweetness with the cream cheese icing and packed full of carrots, nuts and currants.

This is an unexpected treasure. We went here today, and the weather was wonderful. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was a very nice comfortable atmosphere, and the coffee and vegan desserts were great! I will definitely be back!

I get my coffee here regularly. Its a great place to either work alone or meet with friends. I wouldnt recommend it for groups larger than 5, but there is always seating for a coffee catch-up with friends.

Located in a hip shopping strip, along with other small trendy shops. Great to park in large open public lot and walk around. Friendly staff. I would just love for them to be open later!

I am surprised that this place is as highly rated as it is. Is the economy so good that one can not hire decent employees today? The correct response to thankyou is not yep. The tables should be clean. Maybe I hit them on a bad day... but I will not he back to find out.

My favorite local cafe! I’ve been living in Maplewood since 2011 and started out going here a few days a week. They just added fresh made bagels a few months ago and they now have a in house made blueberry cream cheese compote that I truly enjoy. Aside from the usual affair, they are very generous with their Vegetarian/Vegan options from entrees to dessert so anyone who walks in will be pleased.

Cozy cafe with good coffee and a warm ambiance. When I think of a real cafe (not Starbucks) this is the type of place I think of. Students studying, folks reading the paper, and others just chatting.

Staff and clients are super friendly. A random lady helped my some configure the wifi while I was ordering. Baked goods seem to lean a bit too far on the sweet side, but are still good. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating - not at all cramped.

Literally a street person sitting right next to me in a very confined store who was obviously in destress. Talking to himself. Yelling occasionally. Acting very odd. Manager just ignored the guy. We bolted.

Went in just to kill some time and really enjoyed it! The coffee was reasonably priced and the baristas were friendly and talented. The place is deceptively large looking from the outside, but we found a nice place to enjoy conversation for 45 minutes or so, didnt feel rushed (or a cold breeze from the door!). Will be back, for sure!

Not a good study place. The set up of the tables is for chatty eating. Its loud & chatty in here, even on a weekday mid-morning. The vibe is even more hipster than Starbucks. if that is what you are looking for than it is 5 stars.

Fast and friendly service. Love the scones and quiche! Iced coffee is a little bitter for me so I have to add in extra sugar but after that its amazing! Mochas are the best Ive ever had. Im definitely going to try a brownie next time.

Fairly limited lunch menu, but normal for a coffee house. Still, at the suggestion of the barista I tried tdee tuna sandwich on wheat. Fantastic!And the coffee was strong and very tasty.Recommend!
