This store is great. It has a really good selection of a lot of different kinds of wood. And a very good selection of hardware for the project youre working on. And if youre in the market for a new band saw they have a lot to choose from. It really is a gorgeous store. If youre a woodworker I would definitely recommend this store. Lots of toys!

The people are very helpful and friendly at Rockler. Its nice to have staff there that can answer questions and give good advice.

I picked up a Excelsior mini lathe and when I got home I found out that it was defective. I called the store and talked with Brian who helped me at the store and he was so sorry and said bring it back and Ill make sure that you get a good one! What a great store for a woodworker! The Maplewood store has a great selection of tools as well as lumber. The staff is super friendly. They were busy, but no less than 4 staff members reached out to me and spent time just chatting and offering advice. Great experience!

Rockler is closest for me. They have tools (power and hand), loads of finishing supplies, hardware, accessories and wood. Really everything a woodworker needs. And the staff is very helpful. Because its a long drive, I call and verify they what I need before leaving.

Whenever I’m in the area I have to stop here, whether I need something or not. Best store ever. I can wander in there aimlessly longer than the wife can do it at a clothing store, or yarn store, or grocery store, or quilt store, or any other snore fest. Plus they do military/vet discounts, which is more than I can say for Menards or Home Depot or whatever that place is called where you have to send a check to whenever your wife runs a red light. Their staff knows a few things about a few things too, and you can find them easily. They might even find you. I’ll never forget my first trip there. It was so bright, like looking into the sun, so beautiful. I was enveloped in peace as I watched the angels checkin out the table saws. I could hear singing and then John Wayne walked up all covered in sawdust and clinging his spurs. He had a jack plane in each holster and one of them was a little closer to the ground, as his belt was crooked. He said “welcome pilgrim,” and to let him know if i need any help with anything. I said “much obliged” while trying to hide my Minnesota accent and bought 2 dollars worth of cedar and a new work bench for my 6 year old. It was the first day of the rest of my life.

Ive been going here off and on for years but really started getting heavy in to wood working lately. The knowledge and assistance at this store is top notch. Theyve never sent me down the wrong path as long as I make them fully aware of what Im up to. I will definitely be back.

Ive always been happy shopping here. If you want to start or expand your hobby this is the place. The guys are easy to talk to and willing to help find what you need. Their Rockler branded tools fit together pretty well and can make a project easier. Their website is great for shopping before you stop as the store.

The staff there is extremely helpful. I was not totally sure what I needed and the team there are knowledgeable and helped me get the right tools.They are observing covid restrictions of 15 people in the store at a time. We were counted going in and out. Dress warm or leave the car running you might have to wait for your fellow wood workers.Overall great experience. Rocklers are almost always good but this one was a notch or three better.

Just a warning, if you like woodworking tools, I mean reeeealy like woodworking tools, stay the heck out of this place! I went in “just to look around” ended up leaving $300+ later and only because my wife was patiently impatiently wait out in the vehicle.

Signed up for the Cheeseboard making class with Scott. The experience was incredible and I would highly recommend this as an intro course/step to woodworking. The experience took me back to the days of woodshop in highschool.I will definitely try out another class and would recommend Rockler Woodworking to a friend.

I like this place because it has higher quality tools and decent cuts of exotic woods but be prepared to pay. The old guys that wonder around are super nice but not super motivated.

My wife and I have had nothing but great service and advice here. We own a cabinetry business and constantly have a need to go to Rockler, we are like kids in a candy store here. No matter how busy they are they always stop by to say hi (they know us pretty well at this point) and take time to answer all of our questions without seeming rushed. It doesn’t matter if you are a novice and just starting or wanting to start wood working or if you are a master wood worker this is the store and location for you! Phoned in order and it was ready when I got there. They checked to make sure the product was available.

Good speciality woodworking tools at reasonable prices, especially when on sale.

Sales person was honest and friendly. He helped me load my planner into my car as well. Employees are always knowledgeable and great to work with. You can rely on Rockler for any woodworking tool that you thought you needed to special order. I will definitely shop her again.

Helped me solve a woodworking problem

They’re a “woodworking” shop yet I can’t purchase a piece of wood at a certain measurement because they’re not allowed to trim their own product? They have saws everywhere.. they sell wood... but they can’t trim a customer a specific size piece of wood...?Oddest thing I’ve ever experienced..

Just in the Maplewood,MN store. Need assistance on dust collection system and I had to to figure it out by myself. No employee offered to assist me. Not until I was ready to check out did anybody talked to me. Then I had to wait on someone to come out the back room to check me out. I was in the store over an half hour.

Their prices are pretty high, so I only go there if I have to. Based on the customer service, Ill go there even less. The guys work in a woodworking supply store, and its really a crap shoot if the person helping you knows anything about wood or woodworking. Today was just another example of poor service, I had intentions on buying several items including a fairly expensive tool, and I left without spending anything because the one guy was as rude as Ive encountered there. Ill be driving quite a distance now for the other option for this type of products.

Not only do they have every woodworking thing youd need, they have a woodshop inside with all the equipment to actually do your project! Ive done a few projects - like a reclaimed wood table - and used their shop - for the joiner for example - because o dont own all that equipment. Just brilliant!

Had some good sales going on that we were able to take advantage of. Took a while to get assistance with some questions but staff were helpful and friendly.

Friendly, laid-back staff that dont try to oversell the upsells. Rockler has a particular selection of items it carries and doesnt veer very far from it ever, but the good thing is, most of the time, its in stock if they sell it.

Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, helped me get exactly what I was looking for. Not always the cheapest option, but good for getting things you need right away or when you dont know exactly what you want.

Ive been to this location several times and I get more annoyed with each visit over the years. They are either out of stock or there is an issue with a return or the product wasnt up to my standards. Today was the final straw! I called ahead to verify that the store had what I wanted, in stock, like I almost always do, since I have a 40 minute drive. When the gentlemen answered the phone and I asked if they had the item, he quickly said yes but he certainly didnt double check, so I told him I was on my way. For some reason, I didnt press him on it and usually I have them hold the item, as well, but this time I didnt. I guess I thought, by the confidence in his voice that they had it. I was planning on head straight there and what are the odds that they would sell out of them in the next 40 minutes, right? Turns out the chances are pretty damn good! I came in asked there the item was located and he showed me the empty hook. Then told me he just sold them all AND it was the same guy I talked to on the phone! I couldnt believe it. I said I just called about that item! He said, yah I know, Im sorry about that. My advise, avoid the place if you can. If not call ahead, make the guy actually find the item, and make him hold it for you with your name. Ill never go there again, unless I absolutely have to. Thats the kind of service that will run a company right out of business.
