Organized and friendly folks. Always a pleasure.
The manager at this location is awesome. He went the extra mile to make my experience great. The location is small, so prepare to be patient as around the start of the semester it will get a bit crowded.Other than that, I have nothing but positives about the location.
Excellent excellent school! Yes, Im a graduate, but the school is really excellent. This is the only choice in my view if you cant afford the big boys. Check it out, theyre worth a look!
Wish they provided more online classes for Occupational courses. Im going for an associates degree in Information Technology Security and almost all of the occupational classes are on-campus. You can get all of your core classes done online but when it comes to the computer classes, the majority are on-campus and only provided at the Marietta campus. The Paulding campus is the nearest to my house and it would be a lot more convenient if they provided the computer classes there. They also only provide one class time for most of the computer classes so you will have to work around your school schedule. Other than that its a pretty good school to get some college coursework under your belt but most people transfer to a school that better fits their needs.
If you choose a good program you will find a job. Simple as that. Dont get a degree in art or philosophy and expect a decent paying job. Classes are small and the course work is manageable. Dont see how you can complain.
This college is NOT set up to work with any working people. Goodness forbid you try and have a job while trying to stay at this school. The teachers will sometimes work with you. If you insist on going to Chattahoochee for financial reasons I recommend going to the North Metro Campus. The Administration makes it unnecessarily hard on students that have to work. Especially, when it comes time to register or get anything real done with scheduling, or following up with documentation. The answer to most of your answers (ESPECIALLY with ADMINISTRATION) are... well that is the way it is set up, so... Perhaps, they are of the mindset if you say something enough it becomes true. I can not adhere to the nonsensical behavior. I was going to finish my Associate degree and had three classes left to graduate, their refusal to help when attempting to register will cause me to pick another college. I will be glad to modify this review if there is any change in the attitude of their Administration. Hope this helps you mold your future learning decisions!
This review is for the bookstore. You cant reach them by phone, even after leaving multiple voice mails for them to call you back. Ive called 15-20 times and the phone has never been answered, and Ive been waiting five days on a call back. Youre also going to be in the store for longer than you need to be, because some of the people working the counter are not 100% familiar with the system and sometimes like to stop and check their text messages in the middle of pulling your order. Its a joke of an operation that needs to seriously improve their customer service standards.
I couldnt get my undergraduate degree nor my Master degrees credit hours from regional universities being transferred or being recognized. All they concerned about is my high school diploma and the compass score. Staff are not willing to work with me. The good thing is I applied for another graduate program from a big regional university and I got accepted without any headache and weird inquiries (5 working days). Save your time and go to real 4-years college for a quality education. If you are a continuing adult student with prior degrees but just wanted to earn certificates, it is going to be tough to get in. 3 months of my time wasted plus mailing cost and registration fees.Updates:I applied for another university few years ago and earned Associate in Cybersecurity and later Master of Computer Science using GI-Bill. To this day, I am still not sure why Technical colleges around Georgia are difficult to get in. I did apply with different locations but they all fall under the same organization. I wish they have more staff they are well informed about college applications.
Staff is really helpful, and they got my online orders done really quick.
Clean. Nice and friendly. Reasonable price especially for fit bit .
Staff were proffessional and very helpful. Campus is well laid out and appointed.
This rating goes to the bookstore. I purchased a used book rental and was charged the new book rental fee. I clearly showed the lady checking me out the price difference and she told me the prices went up. However, the prices were still the same online. When I told her this she told me I should have brought the book online instead of honoring the correct price. I pay for school out of pocket and this is my first semester here. Hopefully, my classroom experience will be better. By the way, I have a Masters degree and never experienced a difference in price for the same book online vs in the bookstore other then shipping fees. I honestly think she pocketed the rest of the money.
Chatt-tec is great. A bit down-tempo with a home away from home atmosphere. I dig the laid back style, and you will as well.
Second week. I like it so far. I wish I would get some financial aid, but any way. Not bad
The only good thing I can say about this school is that I enjoy the smaller campus; as opposed to somewhere bigger like Kennesaw State University. A lot of the employees have no clue what they are talking about; I would be VERY careful with financial aid affairs. They say they know what they are talking about but ultimately they have no clue. Trying to get financial aid from Chattahoochee Tech is a very long rough process. In the end I did not get any financial aid even though I qualified for it. The lady had no clue was she was talking about, and due to her ignorance I missed the deadline. Another thing I would like to add is that their customer service is TERRIBLE. Good luck trying to get a hold of financial aid through the phone or technical support. If you want to get anything done you have to go to the school and ask several different people questions. There is not one employee who knows exactly what their talking about. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else!
I am not a fan of Chattahoochee Tech. Teachers are reasonable. Class sizes manageable. The administration is absolutely the worst. Classes cancelled at the last moment and they leave you with no options. Nursing classes are not accredited. The whole Healthcare side of this Tech school is mismanaged. Stay away. Find some other school.I wanted to complete my education with them but I had some concerns. I emailed the Vice President of the Tech school and instead of addressing my concerns they were dismissed. When I called them on it they stopped responding. I have spent a lot of money and wasted a couple of years of my life and still have not completed my training. GO TO SCHOOL ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THIS SCHOOL. ONLY 12% OF PEOPLE WHO START THEIR EDUCATION HERE GRADUATE.
Clean...fast service..nice people
The Canton location is the closest one to me and while I love the convenience of having a campus close by where I can go take my basic classes and go home and earn a degree in half the time it takes at a university... I absolutely HATE dealing with their staff, every time I call I feel like I am some major burden, when really faculty at a school should be there to help you and help ease anxieties and difficulties students have about getting squared away with their classes, financial aid, etc... Instead all I get is sarcasm... If it wasnt as convenient and less expensive to go, I would never set foot inside another Chattahoochee Tech building... But I guess you really get what you pay for, they need to step up there game.
This is a great college to learn film and television production from. The Entertainment instructors are professionals from the real world who teach you what it takes to get a job in the field and keep it. However; I cant speak for any of the other majors Chatt Tech offers.
To me, Chatt Tech is a great local school leaning more towards a community college. I have taken the majority of my classes at the Jasper campus with the exception of a few online. I have traveled to the Marietta and Canton campuses for midterm and final exams. I feel the instructors/professors do an excellent job preparing the students who truly want to learn and better themselves through education. There are those students in class who seem to care less and do the absolute minimum to scratch by with a C or failed the semester. I cant tell you the number of times I have been in classes where only half of the students actually showed up for the lecture. If you show up on time to class for lectures, do ALL the required reading, lessons, disscussions, quizzes, essays (if applicable), and tests, you should have no problem with Chattahoochee Tech or the instructors. If you are expecting easy As with little work load then go somewhere else. On average I spend approximately 6-10 hours OUTSIDE of class time (per class) on completing my assignments. I am sure there are others who spend less time and those who also spend more. You MUST invest your time to be successful at anything, and in the end you will be glad you gave it all the attention necessary to further your education and eventually your career.
I was an out of state transfer, trying to get into the Physical Therapy Assistant program. It was a bad experience, and I was very lucky to get out as soon as I did. Financial aid was horrible. I was initially told if I stayed in Georgia for 12 months, I would be able to get HOPE, but when I was turning in all my paperwork to receive HOPE, it switched to 24 months. I just took one course and transferred.
I have been a student of Chat Tech for about 2 years now and it is a fantastic school! None of the people complaining are correct in what they are saying. Every professor in every class (save 1) has always been very helpful and very open to questions, concerns ect. All schools have some bad teachers and all schools have times when they dont answer the phones because they are busy. If you want to complain about that, the rest of us dont want to hear it because that shouldnt be what defines a school. If thats what defines a school then close every college campus down because I promise you that most, if not all, colleges have the same problems. Chattahoochee Tech is a great school and I am proud to say that I go here. It is a school I suggest to any currently, or about to be, in college.
I wouldnt even give it a one star but I have to in order for me to write this reviewI do not want to say names but I will if I have too some nurses are not being fair and are being racist against foreign students! Some dont do anything at all but sit down and be chitchatting! And be talking nasty stuff about immigrants! And about the students! Very unprofessional! They are there to teach and to help not to be judging others or others cultures!
When you order food to be delivered it would be nice to say that you are outside the book store.
Chattahoochee Tech does not offer enough financial aid options for those who do or do not qualify for HOPE and Zell Grant that have been out of high school for more than 8 years. Even with Hope grant and Zell miller grant, I find myself paying a lot of out of pocket expenses including college fees and books. Its like they purposely pick the most expensive books so they can take more money from the students.I transferred classes to another school where I can use grants, scholarships, and federal loans to pay for everything. Now I am paying nothing out of pocket while in school. Its takes a huge burden off my shoulders so I can focus on passing grades vs worrying about paying for school.
Friendly store associates but the prices are not affordable when it comes to supplies or food items. However the books are priced competitively.
The office assistance were always kind! I had many professors who really wanted their students to succeed!
At the end of the day, its 2013, and this is a Community College. What do you really expect? My experience wasnt that bad. I never really had any problems with Financial Aid (other than the long lines) and or the courses offered. The people who bash this school are usually too stupid to graduate from it. Such as some of the Google Users below. But the others before me are telling you the truth when they say that the true problem lies within the faculty. The reason I give it two stars: grades dont reflect a students knowledge of material, on any level. There are students getting As and Bs who have no idea what theyre doing. The lecturers dont foster personal growth as a student either. As a student, I expect (and pay) to be pushed, at least a little. The teachers at CTC dont do that and they dont care to. If you want to go there to knock out some math and english, thats cool, but if you actually want a Bachelors degree, or anything higher, dont make the mistake of thinking this school will prepare you for the next level.
Could have gotten higher but the bookstore is always a hassle. I know they try to do the best they can but its just annoying at times. The online CTC bookstore is the way to go!!!
This is a college that changes life, if you really allow the unbeatable professor to.
Ive never bought a book from here, but they have snacks for a descent price. Convenient alternative if you dont want something from the vending machines.
God place to get course books and extra course items for different classes. Customer service was superb and very helpful.
Great technical school. Loa cost. Even offers a 2 year nursing program now
I was a teacher. It is a good school.
I think it’s real dumb that they don’t let you return NEVER USED OR OPENED access codes. Bought two because this place wasn’t open when I could go so I couldn’t start my course unless I paid for another code on the textbook website. But it’s ok I just disputed the charge with my bank and still only paid for one. Won’t be using their bookstore again .
Good school! But needs to work on customer service and convenience
I was a student here from 07-08 and have always wanted to write a review about my experience. I went to both the Paulding and Cobb campuses to gather some core credits before heading out to West GA. Well, the Paulding campus was actually decent and I had a few good teachers, but the Cobb campus was a joke. The classes were so easy out there that it was a crime. Teachers curved tests to let everyone pass (and I MEAN CURVED). On one test I made a 124 because the teacher had curved it so much. Still some students in the class somehow failed or made Cs This was basic biology and most of the students in there were going on to be nurses! Wow, that makes me feel confident! Lets push nurses through that cant even pass basic BIO without a 30-point curve! OMG! But that was the way it was at Chattahoochee-South Cobb. I could go on and on. Just know that it was a crime to higher education. However, one advantage, it was inexpensive when I went there ($400.00 dollars a semester). So, I guess it is good for getting your 30 credit hours on the cheap and transferring somewhere better.
In more ways than not, this school is a SCAM. I wasted a year here in general education classes. NONE TRANSFERRED TO KSU. Please do your research before coming to this school! They are not accredited and neither are their programs. You might be able to come here and take courses to become a medical assistant but usually those get-rich-quick schemes dont work. If you end up getting a medical assistant job you wont be able to apply those credits to a KSU nursing degree. Just look at the KSU (or whichever school) transfer articulation BEFORE you even register here. You could waste thousands of dollars, be in debt and waste months of your life working toward absolutely nothing or very little. There are other ways to gain credits that will transfer to a university than to waste time and money here at this dump. Plus, financial aid was a nightmare to deal with! From my experience, whenever I hear of someone coming to this school I see them 1-2 years later working in a crappy restaurant financially struggling because they didnt get anywhere with this stupid school. Do your research first!
It’s a book store where you are welcomed by friendly faces😊
Never been a shortage on what I need.
Love the Paulding campus, but Im using the Marietta campus. Only problem I see here is parking.
BEWARE! Their ADN (Nursing) program IS NOT accredited by the NLNAC!! It is a good thing I saw this BEFORE coming back to this school.I attended here for several years at the Marietta campus on South Cobb Drive. VERY unsafe area (I used to live near there, too).Poor instructors. I only had a few good teachers while there. One moved out of the contenintal US to work at a nursing school, and Im not sure if the other one work there anymore. One math teacher I had came to school wearing traditional African clothing, which is okay w/ me because I respect that, but it was impossible to understand him. I believe he was fired. The school needs a lot of work and better, more qualified teachers. Its like pulling teeth to get a hold of someone here, too. No one knows what they are doing.Im glad I chose to attend another college online, instead of this place run by clowns.
Outstanding school. Great programs for todays world!
I loved this school. I went from feeling like Id never be able to go to college, to finishing an engineering degree at a state school. I went to the North Metro campus and I felt like I got such a great learning experience from it. Its so affordable and I really enjoyed all my classes. I managed to go from thinking I was bad at math to studying a math oriented field.Sometimes at my university now I meet students who have come from Chatt Tech and we always talk about how much we miss it and how awesome our professors were. I really felt like my classes were full of great people and great professors who helped me find what I wanted to do. I also really liked their web software which wasnt frustrating to deal with- much less so than the software my new university has used. I am sure sometimes in the future I will find a way to pay my respects to NM Chatt Tech.I do agree with people that say you should avoid dealing with the bookstore. I think that was my biggest issue with them- being offered a used book for 10% more than the new price is ridiculous. Stick to online, or shop around for sure. I used Coursesmart rentals a lot if you dont mind ebooks.
Excellent staff, always helpful and friendly!
Awesome Wi-Fi lol super fast
If I could go into the negatives to rank, that would be awesome. First, this school is horrible. Second, the staff seem to lack within their jobs. Third, I have barely learned anything. I orginally attened a tech school in Northeast Georgia, I learned a lot from them and they actually helped me find a job down this way. I was laid off from that job so I decided to come back to school. I never had any problems at the start, everything went awesome. Well, my first semester was horrible. Our teacher loaded us down with homework (every other day, two sections a day) and tests (once a week at 50+ questions). This being said, it was literally impossible for me to work and go to school. I understand college is more difficult and takes more dedications, but this was insane. Anyways, I passed all those classes. My fall semester rolls around and I have her only one more time. So, we had a group project due at the end of the semester along with a resume due. She gave us information on who to contact to meet about getting our resume reviewed (she would give us a card if she reviewed it, thats how we got our grade). The lady in the office would never call me back! To this day, I am still waiting on a phone call. I walked to her office and she seemed to always be gone. For a month straight, she recieved calls from me, along with my partner in the class who never got a call back. I looked for outside help, I found a professor at KSU who my fiance set me up with to review my resume. My teacher wouldnt take it! He signed off on it and was tempted to email her, but I told him it was a waste of time. So for that, I got a zero. Thanks to the lady in the office who never returned my call by the way, you helped a lot with that zero. Next was the project, I didnt have any problems with it, but other students did. Going through college, students will drop out left and right. Well, some of my friends lost their partners because they dropped out and ended up not having one anymore. Each student who didnt have a partner was knocked off points because of that. Something they couldnt even help, she knocked off points! She is by far, the worst teacher I have EVER had. She NEVER helps in the labs and can barely explain how to do specific things on the homework. Also, this is Electrical/Computer Engineer Tech. I really hope she reads this and it shows how horrible she is doing. Every single student I have met who went through her, hated it. I never met one student who said something positive about her. Now, Carl on the other hand is a great teacher. He helps you every step of the way and actually helps you understand problems. In the end, I dont know whats more sad, that I learned everything I know from this school from my student teacher or the fact I got a job in the IT field just from personal use. Keep in mind everyone who is going for computers. If you come here and expect your credits to transfer anywhere for the couple of classes you take with computers, you are wrong. None of them will transfer, only the ones from the Electrical class will. Im just beyond happy I am out of the womans class and actually learning something, I was getting tired of having to teach myself. One more thing, dont try to contact the staff, they are just for a paycheck, not to help you. I have yet had any help from them, only at the start when they wanted my money. Still waiting on that phone call.------ Also to the gentleman named Grant, please do not call someone out on their issues with the school. Not too sure if you were talking about my comment, but the fact is I called a year ago and have YET received a call back. I understand schools are busy, but I have been to one prior and if they couldnt answer, they ALWAYS called me back within a week. People read reviews for a reasons. Personally, I would rather see the flaws instead of positive feedback. Flaws is what makes a school, this school has too many flaws. You just got lucky with your teachers, because it seems like twenty other people did not. Also, I am still waiting on that phone call back.
Its an over priced college bookstore. They do have what you need, but youre gonna pay for it.
Great tech school and low cost, well worth the money.
Worst. Experience. Of. My. Life. I attended classes at three campuses, Paulding, Marietta, and North Metro. At the Paulding campus, the ladies in the office do not understand what they are talking about and therefore cannot advise you on anything because they do not know themselves. The first incident was when I lost my insurance because they did not file the correct papers. The lady, Pollie, was rude and could not explain anything to me. Second incident was when I was sent a bill for an ungodly amount of money that PELL would have covered. When I checked my Banner account, it showed my balance for PELL and there was PLENTY of money in the account, they just did not apply it. When I spoke to Financial Aid, they could not explain to me why the grant had not been applied, but that if I did not pay the balance all of my classes would be dropped. What a waste of time, energy, and effort on people that dont even care about you, they only see dollar signs. The office staff needs to be retrained on customer service and the operational issues need to be addressed. I do not recommend this school to a friend, family, or anyone that I care about because it is a joke. Dont say you havent been warned. On one positive note, I had one teacher that made a difference in my life, he was honest, spoke clear English, and he cared about students success, and I am forever grateful for the knowledge he instilled in me.
Jasper campus If you have any question about the school, dont call, they wont answer. But, if you do by some miricle get someone to pick up, they will brush you off and say visit our website. The history class there is pretty pathetic, all the tests ive taken in the past two months have been over youtube videos, and god forbide your microsoft word doesnt capitalize the first letter off a sentence because she will flip out! Its ok that she gives 15 two min videos at the end of the month and nothing in between, bit you better be perfect on your end... Other than that i really enjoy the school. Dont let anyone fool you, you really have to put in an effort here, i have 4 classes and i have 10 to 15 tests per week. Its not just a walk in the park.
Website wont allow you to purchase with credit card for in store pickup. Then at the bookstore they would not let me purchase my books because I didnt have a printed class schedule. Even though I know exactly what two books I need, including titles, authors, and ISBNs. Is it your goal for people to not be able to buy books? Absolutely horrible customer service.
Good affordable school. I love it
Small assortment of t-shirts and school supplies along with the expensive course textbooks that youll be required to get. You can sell em back later for pennies on the dollar after you pass your class. Yay, college!
Great school
Really great learning experience for all and an affordable tuition
Affordable way to go back to school!!
This school never answers phone calls, and their mailboxes are always full. They need to improve on that.
College is not able to work with people who work full time.
Awful. A bunch of morons work here, you will wait on the phone for over half an hour for an incompetent person to not be able to answer a simple question.
Get your books here 📚 lol
Customer Service is great
Love this school.
Horrible financial aid staff, the black guy never knows what hes doing and the ladys never return phone calls and seems to always make mistakes when dealing with pell/hope grant paperwork.
