Honest and friendly. After examining my car the owner Howard said he’d love to do the work, it’s a big job, but it’s under warranty and I shouldn’t pay a thing. This is after Nissan told me that I wasn’t covered. Howard then called Nissan on my behalf to discuss how the issue with the car is under warranty, Nissan made the necessary repairs. I am a customer for life at this shop as of a few years ago. All of my cars, all of my customers cars, all of my friends. They all go to Howard and his great wife and team at this lovely location. The best experience i ever had fixing my car. They did a free check up & gave me a great price to fix it. After they did the work in the winter, I drove my car round trip to Fla & my car still drives perfect! So happy i found this gem of a shop. They also tell you if your car has any other problems; so you are ahead of the game when you see your regular mechanic.

Just got my 2006 Nissan Altima 3.5SE V6 back from Freds. What an awesome job on my transmission. Howie & his wife are the best. They explained to me all the costs involved & in fact it was lower than the budget they told me because they didnt need to replace a few parts as mentioned earlier. On top of that they even replaced a spark plug & coil that was causing misfire at no cost. Honesty is the best way to do business right. I will recommend Freds to all. Thank you guys.

If i could give 6 stars I would. First of all Howard the owner is a nice guy who lives by his word. He originally quoted me $1900 and when I told him money was tight he offered to help me out for $1750 for the full job. After they took apart my transmission they found out that there was more wrong than he originally thought. He said the price to fix would have been raised to $2700 but he guaranteed $1750 and that is what I paid. A few days later a leak happened and I brought it back to him. No questions he took my car up on the lift and gave me a ride home. Hour later he called me back saying the leak had nothing to do with the transmission but fixed it for me regardless with no charge. With that being said I would definitely recommend this shop to anybody. Thanks Howie !!!

Not only expert transmission repair but they pay close attention to other mechanical problems and framing defects. Freds Transmission is a long lived business originating in Flushing NY and is now located in Massapequa NY, not too far distant.Freds did my 89 Ford transmission rebuild 11 years ago and since then, I piled on some 105,000 miles. That transmission rebuild still works very well. But I have to say, in those 11 years, I did 5 transmission fluid changes, most of them done by Freds.What has always impressed my is the capability and experience level of Freds service staff. These people are experienced professionals operating in a service industry which has some gimmickry operators. But not at Freds. At Freds you get straight answers, good explanations and that old time service level feel which you got years ago.

I have a c300 2013. I experienced having no reverse in my car. I brought it over to the dealership and was quoted an exorbitant price. A friend who had his car fixed at freds transmission world, referred me. Howard checked my car for free and the dealership wanted to charge me way to much money. He promised he would save me money, which he did. My car now drives like a brand new car and he got the car back to me quick. If I could give him 6 stars I would.

I bought a 2007 VW Passat at a very good price a couple of months ago. About a month ago the transmission started slipping - now I know why I got such a good price on it. So I researched transmission repair shops online and settled on Freds. And Im glad I did. He kept the car about a week and replaced the entire transmission, charging me less than half what a VW dealer would have. Ive been driving it about a week now and its as smooth as silk. Id recommend Freds in a heartbeat. Oh, and BTW, I dont know Howard (not personally, anyway) or work for Freds and have not been paid for this review. This is an honest and truthful review from a satisfied customer.

I met howard, he was a big help when my transmission blew.He provided competitive pricing, and professionals who are working over 25 years in transmissions.Made it into a positive experience, after driving car for 70,000 miles, its still driving likr new.

Howard is a total scammer. I have brought a few cars to him, mostly for transmission work. At first, I trusted him because he makes himself seem like a good and knowledgeable person, however, he is not. He always ends up charging me much more than promised but I never complained or argued, I just paid. The last time I brought my car to him, he also ended up charging more than he guaranteed he would charge. But not only that, he had the car for THREE weeks. I called his store at least 4 times a week and his wife answered and told him to call me back but never did. At the end I had to go over there myself and then he tells me a bunch of bullshit. After we paid more than what we were promised it would cost, we left and a short time later we have other issues with the car. So if he give you a cheap price, it is most likely because he isnt fixing the whole problem. I did not bring it back to him but will probably need to file a lawsuit against him. HE IS A TOTAL SCAMMER, DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO HIM UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. P.S. all the positive reviews are probably from his family, friends, and wife (ROE) and he does not check your transmission for free unless you end up letting him do the work.

Howard is the heart and soul; someone who cares about his customers and goes the extra mile. Not only was quality work done, on time and within price expectations, it was done with a smile and with genuine care.I had my 2003 Honda Accord in for service and I couldnt be happier having dealt with Howard and the crew at Freds. All of my expectations were met, between phone calls and follow-up checks. It was a great experience when I anticipated a struggle in having a transmission repaired. True mechanics mechanic! great service. The estimate came in exactly on target. I had a transmission leak. Lots of dishonest mechanics would overcharge and do unnecessary work, not Freds. A new, better gasket, a normal service and I was back in business. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

First off they are very friendly what I didnt like I took my car there to get a used motor and I get my car back my windshield I got water leaking inside of my car and then the engine light came back on they told me I need an alternator.when I asked him about the windshield wiper on the water leaking inside the I asked him did you put everything back the right way and make sure everything was hook up.they told me yes but that wasnt true painting put everything back the right way the fan fell the other day from underneath the car so is this still spinning out more money fixing up the stuff that they didnt fix when they put the motor back in.and it just makes me upset that they really didnt take there time putting my car back together the right way.g

My Nissan Quest was shaking and vibrating so my wife took it to a garage and while the technician was checking, it made loud bang and gears stopped working, We were told Transmission is shot.So I called couple of transmission shops and after talking Howard@FredTransmissionWorld decided to go with them.Howard sent a tow truck and picked up my Van, they rebuild my transmission which took 4 business days since it required some more work, I picked the Van and transmission is smooth.I never thought I will use my Van again but FredTransmissionWorld did a great job!! We had agreed on a fixed price and they honored the price without any questions.I was advised to get it checked in a week which I did and Howard test drove it, I am very happy with overall experience.Highly recommend FredTransmissionWorld!!!

One day my car got stuck on the road i knew it was transmission problem so i found freds transmission world in Massapequa, NY I was kind of scared because i thought Mercedes transmission would be expensive i called & spoke with Howie who fully informed me about how transmissions break down and how he could fix my transmisson the right way at the best price. If you are looking for a tranny shop please continue looking. a basic tranny job on my car turned into a 3 week long wild goose chase to get my car back. they told me my car was being worked on as we were speaking but i when i passed i could clearly see it wasnt. it was suppposed to be ready about 5 different times in the whole 3 weeks it was there. Along with bad quality work i was constantly lied to and cheated out of my time and money please find a different shop. Also i was constantly nagged to write a great 5 star review to promote his business in order for better work so i would consider ignoring some reviews for his shop

I took my 2009 Audi to the dealership in Huntington they gave me a price I could not afford a friend of mine referred me to freds transmission world so I went for a free transmission check and I saved around 50% from the dealers price and car is running great. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. I have nothing but great things to say about freds transmission world. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a transmission check up or service.I would like to say once again I took my 2010 escalade to freds transmission world and the job at Cadillac was around $6000.00 but freds charged me half the price and did it in the half the time. The truck runs like its brand new thanks to freds transmission world for a job well done. I once again recommend them for all your transmission needs.

I dont know where to begin. Howard & Roe, they are sweethearts, Ive made new friends.I was skeptical at first to take my Benz to a transmission shop other than the dealer but Howard being so patient & listened to my problem unlike any other car shop who would ask you to come & charge you for a diagnosis. Howards a veteran in this business & know how to run his show. I was convinced & I took my car to Freds. They spent almost 2 hours with me with the test drive, diagnosis & explaining me the problems I might have & gave me a couple of different solutions. I was convinced & came back end of the week & dropped it off. There were other aspects to the transmission other than just the actual transmission that needed to be fixed, Howard fought tooth & nail to get me the best prices on all the OEM parts I needed. At the end of the week, I took the car delivery. As he promised, the car drove like out of the showroom. It took its course to break in the new parts & get re-adjusted & re-aquatinted with the cars electronic modules.Today Im happy to have Howard & Roe as friends. I happen to own a Burger Bar in Rockville Centre & its always a treat to see my friends come for dinner & drinks.Did I mention to you that they also provide 2 days of free rental, so your on your way to work right away. Also, he followed up on how it was driving almost every other day just to make sure everythings ok.I love you guys. My car wasnt that bad just a little noise under my feet if I drove over 50 but I wanted it to be checked, so I took it to what use to be King Bear in Seaford, and they sent my car to this place where they said it was the transmission and that theyll fix it for 350.00. The next day they call my husband saying that it will also need some new parts and now it will be 1,200.00 to which he respond that we didnt have that kind of money. Then Howard told my husband that he could get a loan for him to fix the car. the next day after my husband signed the lease they called saying now it will be 2,500.00 to fix the car, at this point I realize this was a fraud, then my husband told him that we didnt want to fix the car at that price and he said well you have to pay me 800.00 already to put the car together and its not going to work at all.then I went in to the shop to ask the guy for a copy of the lease, which of course he didnt wanted to give me. He said he didnt even have a copy of it in the shop but the original was right in the counter so I took it and after he beg me for a copy I let him make a copy of it and he promised me to fix the car for 2,100.00 for good. We picked up the car two days ago, I didnt used it yesterday and today I took my daughter to the local library and we couldnt make it back home the car start shaking and making an amazing bad noise, then smell like burned and end of story we had to walk home. Now we owe the lease money the 900.00 my husband borrowed from his boss and I dont have a car. By the way the two prior reviews must to been written by friends of this thieves because when I picked up the car there was another guy very angry because they did the same to him.
