I had an easy time making an appointment to repair a tire (slow leak - it had a nail in it). They got to work right on time, and were very efficient. I waited in the lounge area while the work was done. It was comfortable, and not only had good WiFi but also a multi-function charging connector for my devices. The charge was very reasonable for the efficient, high quality work.

The folks at this shop are great. Theyve helped us out twice now. When one of the issues was one they felt would be better handled by the car dealer they didnt even charge us for the time spent on the diagnostic check. Highly recommend and theyll definitely be our default garage going forward.

The oil leaked out of my car, so I call Stress Free Auto Care and said Id be having it towed to their Menlo Park location. They were very busy, but they got back to me about what was causing the leak. They fixed it and Im very happy to have them near me. G (Gerardo) was very professional and polite. I was impressed.

Im so happy with the service I received here. They did a full inspection and literally showed me the problem without trying to sell me a bunch of stuff I didnt need. The mechanics are nice and answer any questions. I was in and out in no time.

My infiniti G37 has a water pump problem and needed a replacement. They promised to get it down in 2 days, but ended up finishing it in 6 days. The worst part is that they didnt bleed the coolant system!! It leads to the system in short of more than 1L coolant. When I was test-driving the vehicle, the engine got overheated again!!!! I might have blown up my engine head gasket due to their unprofessional repair. Horrible experience.

Very pleased. Brought 2014 Prius in for 30,000 mile scheduled maintenance. Did all of the inspections; advised me that some of the fluids/flushes that would have been done as routine at a dealership were not needed. Probably saved me >1 K for what have been unnecessary work. Great!!!

On July 29 I brought in a 2013 Jeep Latitude for oil and filter change, general check-up of all fluids, belts, cables, hoses, etc. (Post COVID-19) after 18 months of little or no service. I said I was traveling the following week. On August 5 I left for San Diego and noticed engine light was off and car drove better than before service job. However, as I continued driving I occasionally felt bad pain in my right foot and finally realized it was scalding hot liquid dripping down from the engine every time I adjusted the AC or changed the tilt of the vehicle up or down. Turning, stopping, or accelerating we’re difficult. By the time I got to SD I knew I had to repair the car lest I burn the engine. On finding a place with a certified AC technician I learned the AC system was clogged up. To say the least, I was disappointed in the service job I got on July 29. I wasted a lot of time on August 6 to get vehicle repaired and to change a lot of plans about getting back to Redwood City on time on Aug 7.Everything else was fine. Your shop is clean. It was easy to make the appointment. All was very professional. I understand mistakes are easy to make but I was certainly bummed out by all this.

With the construction in place, I ran over a nail. The light came on, stating my tire was low. I pulled over to look for the closet place I could get my tire repaired. Had no idea we had this honest, friendly and professional auto shop service within our very own neighborhood. They took care of my vehicle and made me feel like I was priority.While I waited, I was able to utilize their WiFi and was able to attend a zoom meeting. Customer service was phenomenal. I was in and out without 20 minutes.I will keep them in mind for any of my car repairs/maintenance from this day forward.

Took my car in very quickly same day that I called and they didn’t try to sell me a bunch of things I did not need They were very professional I would use them againNew update for my review I think back every good thing I said about them my car is now in disrepair I have it issue that I did not have before it’s leaking oil really bad I haven’t had anybody contact me return my phone calls and I spent almost $2000 over there and now all of a sudden I have a oil problem don’t take your car here you will regret it. I know believe they even had me repair things that were unnecessary like replacing the rotors on my brakes I believe they did that just a fish in the bill up for them don’t take your car headed your way dread it

Stress Free quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem with my A/C compressor. Unfortunately the extended warranty on the car is through GM so I had to take it to a dealer so they will honor the warranty

I don’t usually leave reviews but they deserve all the credit.Literally the whole process was stress free. All I had to do was drop my car off while they did what they do best. They kept me updated every step of the way. They took pictures and videos and sent it via text messages and emails of everything that was wrong with an explanation along with estimations on costs for each problem. Contacted me to let me know if they can start on it and it only took 1 day ! Called me as soon as it was done and all I had to do was pay for it and pick it up. Outstanding service I read all the great reviews and had to try Stress-Free Auto Care for myself. I was looking for someone who could work on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler and I found them in the recommended suggestions for my car when looking on the internet. The service was great and they catalog the hole job with photos and details on everything they do. They covered my 40,000 mile maintenance, break inspection and even rotated my tires for an extremely fair price. I am a big fan now and most likely all our cars will now have a local place for maintenance and repairs. Thx Gerardo, and William it’s hard to find great help and you deserve all 5 Stars.

I had them install a new tire and they set the pressure at 60 PSI!!! Tire pressure should have been 35PSI, and in any case its rated to max 50 PSI. Unbelievably dangerous! Cannot trust this shop any more.

Great service at Stress-Free Auto Care (Planet Auto)! I was surprised to see the change of name and ownership at Planet Auto, now Stress-Free Auto Care down the road from Safeway on El Camino. My cars maintenance was still on file so the mechanic had past history. I really enjoyed the new system that sends alerts to my phone as my car is being worked on, including a link to a clear inspection report with photos. It made repair decisions much easier. They also have lockers for car keys for after hours. Roberto is very personable, answered all my questions, and gave me two estimates on the fly for separate repairs. Very transparent system, and great service. Loved it!

I had my vehicle towed to Stress free on a Saturday. They are open Saturday’s but did not have time to diagnose the problem with my car.They spent time on Monday and discovered the car had a problem which they could not fix.Stress free did not charge me because they could not fix the car. I so appreciated that. Thank you Stress-free.

I live in Oregon and was taking possession of an old family Volvo. The car needed assessment before the drive north. When I called the week prior, another local shop could not be bothered. The kind folks at Planet knew what I wanted, set the appointment, and confirmed by email immediately. (You will get email and text notifications for everything...)Got there the following week and was expected. They got the car inspected quickly, identified needed parts and then gave me an estimate and time frame. Hung tight to all all of it.I knew what was going on all the time as the text notifications came through at each step. If they come to Portland, I am certain to be a customer.

I was apprehensive about going to this business, after the change of control from Planet Auto. Ive gone to Planet Auto for years and never had to worry about getting anything less than excellent service, or ever getting ripped off. So I was nervous about going to Stress-Free Auto after they bought Planet auto. Fortunately, my experience was excellent. The work was timely and the prices were reasonable. There were some nice upgrades to the shop, and the technology, which gave me text updates on how things were going. So I will miss Clay TERRIBLY, but I think Ill stick with Stress-Free as long as they keep up the good work.

My check engine light came on in Menlo Park during covid right before my car died on me in a parking lot, and honestly I felt really stuck. I live in Oakland, and I wasnt sure where nearby would be able to help quickly and affordably. I hopped on yelp, and Stress-Free auto popped up as not too far. I called to make sure they had time for me mid afternoon, and Rhett picked up the phone right away and was very courteous and kind saying they did.I got my car towed there and they immediately checked it in and made sure I knew how they would be assisting me. They diagnosed the issue right away, it was sensor related, and worked to get the parts needed ASAP. Unfortunately, they wouldnt be available till the next morning.They did a full work up for me the next morning while replacing the sensors, and gave me an extremely detailed report with pictures. They ended up giving me a very precise time-frame of how quickly they could prepare my vehicle with the other issues that needed addressing, and it was absolutely spot on and I was able to get my car before closing.They give you real time updates through text that you can respond to with questions, and are very easy to reach. Rhett helped me a lot at the front desk, and all of the other staff were incredibly helpful and efficient.I cant recommend this place enough, they fixed my car for a fair price, and did it in a very small time frame of about 30 hours, and got my car back to me before a holiday weekend. A huge thanks to them all, and if youre stuck and in need of help, come here!

How about you take responsibility for your shop and change things in your shop so that you don’t get 1 ratings. Instead of trying to get ratings erased. Wouldn’t recommend any business here.An employee that worked here sold us a vehicle he claimed was his own, not even 50 feet from the shop to the owner full awareness at the time, on a week day, during business hours, wearing the shops uniform and name tag, claimed and used the shop as leverage for work being done on the vehicle and future reliability for any concerns we had. I helped my friend choose and purchase the vehicle. Later to find out it wasnt in the employees name, later having the engine cease not even 500 miles within 2 days of purchase.The employee and shop owner did not want to hear about the event or meet to discuss, they stated it had nothing to do with the shop and was sold as is.I rather only leave positive reviews as all my other ones. Instead, I edited my review to elaborate on the case as the owner decided to make it appear as if my review bogus.I will delete this review and communicate with Hannah to delete hers and turn it positive if he takes responsibility and refunds the lemon which was sold 50 feet away from his shop by his employee at the time while he knew about it(negative reviews are rather contagious I want to believe).It is further dishonest for this shop owner to state he knows nothing about this transaction, maybe now he remembers.Otherwise, be happy and good luck with business.

But the true testimony to their integrity is the extra mile they go when theres no money to be made. Last month my daughters car broke down in Arizona & Clay helped me judge whether she was getting good advice from the mechanic in Phoenix (she was, thank goodness) which really put my mind at ease. Then today he was happy to help me in my decision about which auto body shop to choose when my car was rear ended and needed an insurance estimate & repair work. Having a mechanic you can truly trust is a Godsend!

Probably did ok on oil change. It came with 3 page print out that looked intriguing. Verbally when I picked up my car, he said there were a few thing but nothing urgent. When I got home I realized I might want to do some of those things before the upcoming smog test. But the intriguing photos and links were on paper. The links were very long and in a font with many ambiguous characters, so impossible to get to. The website was no help. I called 3 times. No answer. Left a message twice with phone number at beginning and end of message. No call back. I suppose this is their way is saying they dont want my business?

I have been using Planet Auto for years, and I always have a great experience. They dont nickel and dime you, and they are very reasonably priced. They are honest and I trust their judgment completely. I now live 30 minutes north, but I still drive down to them for service and oil changes.

We can here for a smog and for the most part everything was good. A couple of pretty major flaws in my book though:1. When my car is ready, call me. Just like another reviewer experienced, they let my car sit there all day completed but failed to call & notify me. When I called to ask the status (after much holding on the line - theres a lot of this) they seemed to take the position of, well arent you going to come pick it up?, we close at 5:30pm. Had I KNOWN my car was done, I would have GLADLY had it back HOURS ago.2. Rudeness on the phone. Yes, they are mechanics but being that you interface with customers you SHOULD have some ability to speak to people and a reasonable sense of etiquette; that is IF you want them to come back.In all fairness I was happy with the work completed and they were informative and patient with me & my questions. I would gladly bring me vehicle back here for service (and probably will) in the future.Prices were MORE than reasonable, especially considering theyre in MENLO PARK.

These guys were awesome! I called just about 5 minutes beforehand about a headlight. They said they’d take a look. Twenty minutes after that, the headlight was replaced! Easiest car-problem solution ever!

I needed to get a mirror replaced and the service was fast and friendly and cheap! Would definitely go back for future repairs.
