Just put together a Murphy bed for my brother and sister in law. I’m good with a drill, I’m a DYIer, I’ve assembled a lot of furniture in my day which is always easy work, I’ve taken a transmission out of a car by myself to repair it - and surprisingly I could do that faster than build this bed. This was by far the most complicated and tedious design I’ve ever seen. Here is the list of tools you’ll need: drill, multiple hex bits, Philips bits, drill bits, socket set (long sockets! Short won’t work), stud finder, rubber mallet, screw driver, adjustable wrench, measuring tape, and masking tape. 🤦🏻♂️ it absolutely requires two people at certain points. I bet it has 300 screws to drill in and most of them aren’t pre drilled holes! The instructions are around 40 pages. I’m a fast worker and it took me 7 hours. From reviews I’ve read this is on the short end. Terrible pictures in the instruction booklet and it’s soooo wordy, it’s a ton of reading for an instruction book. My god.Two years ago I bought a Cielo Murphy bed from Costco for myself. It’s 4000x easier to put together, looks just as good, is just as sturdy and is much cheaper. Avoid this engineering nightmare. They really found the most complicated way to design a bed. Here is the award they won for it: 🏆Apart from creating a supply shock and screw shortage worldwide, It does look good and seems really sturdy.
This company stands behind their products and provided us with exceptional support and service when we needed it. I’d definitely buy from them again.
We love our bredabed! It is exactly what we wanted. Need patience in assembling, but it was fine.
Just finished assembling our MET2 Murphy bed and side cabinets. Took my time, followed the directions both written and online. Both were excellent and easy to follow. My wife and I couldnt be happier with our purchase as the quality of the product is nothing short of excellent.
The product is not acceptable. It is flimsy and beyond hard to put together. Harder than it needs to be or should be. The instructions are ridiculous and the pictures do not match the pieces so it is hard to know which piece is what or what is right or left. For the price, the quality is sub-par and I can literally bend pieces that are supposed to be support pieces. The delivery process was a nightmare and took forever, even after paying an extra $299 for white glove service. They contract out to a 3rd party delivery service that is vague in all types of communication, only deliver on certain days, etc. After much back and forth they got my piece delivered through a 4th party delivery team that then tried to charge me over $500. It is now 24 hours into trying to install the bed and the baseboard measurement was wrong and off by a full inch so we had to cut it ourselves and we have had to purchase extra supports from Home Depot just to keep the pieces together and sturdy.BBB complaint filed with rejection from the company. The option of sending back the bed would be a wonderful option if that was a realistic option. We all know that it is not, considering the size and complications of sending it back. The website is misleading and the price does not reflect the product. I wanted to support local and small business but find this company has a response for everything regardless of what I say or how I feel. Hopefully this filing with the BBB will sway other people away from this business and avoid purchasing a bed from them. I feel that I was very patient with BredaBeds and felt their response to the shipping problems was just lip service. If I had not kept emailing and inquiring nothing would have been done. It was only at the last minute that a solution was found, but only after much unnecessary stress. The bottom line is this product is not worth the cost they charge and the directions on putting it together are sub-par and unnecessarily complicated. Like I said the company has an answer for every complaint. Shame on me for not looking at prior reviews found on Houzz and Yelp. I relied only on the reviews from the BredaBed website which is clearly skewed.
The bed is junk and so is their customer service! My bed came with several flaws and customer service wouldn’t acknowledge any of it or try and make it right. Super disappointed that I spent over 2 grand on particle board. Also be sure you have 2 people that can lift 500 pounds to put the bed platform on. I almost died trying yo get this thing put together and the door doesn’t even sit centered there is a big gap on one side.
Best in the market. Quality product + quality people = quality experience.
Great selection and quality.
This 1 star is for the customer service..The handyman of Breda Beds “Michael” based in Los Angeles is really unprofessional. We needed him cause we are moving-out at the end of the month. He didn’t try once to reach us out, didn’t reply to my text or call my husband like he told him. He didn’t message us to know about his availabilities. So we had to hire someone else to uninstall it and result our bed is totally broken. It would have not happened in the first place if Michael was someone professional!I do not recommend this company.Murphy bed is great but you can buy it to an other place, cheaper and worth the price for the services you paid.
The bed itself is a good fit for the room we have it in and its efficient and comfortable. However, the directions are muddy and difficult. There are two of us in this home. We are extremely accustomed to putting all kind of things together, and were also very used to a variety of directions and videos. The first page of the instruction manual said that the product takes up to SEVEN & A HALF HOURS to assemble. It is truly rough sledding. Unclear and difficult.Opt for a professional installer. Youll thank me a million times over.
We assemble many types of Murphy beds, and of all the beds we install, we prefer the BredaBeds line of products. Their beds are stylish, comfortable, and reliable. Truly the best Murphy beds on the market! Furthermore, whenever we have questions, they have a terrific customer service team. They are very professional, helpful, and efficient. Great products, great company!
WOW - Awesome murphy bed and for a great price. We looked locally in Arizona for beds. They were too expensive. Excited to find Bredabeds made in Idaho for $1000 less. Well made product. The instructions for installing the bed were the most clear of any product weve purchased and even included a video for each of the 9 chapters. Well done Bredabeds!
Our Home Office is Now Also a Sometimes-GuestroomAfter recovering from the sticker shock of an estimate for a bedroom addition, we decided to look into installing a Murphy bed in our office. Our research landed us at Bredas site, where we were impressed to see the many configuration, cabinetry, and bed-size options. And, super bonus: Breda is local to Idaho, with all manufacturing done at the companys operation right in the Boise area. (They also ship all over the world.)The showroom has beautiful models on display and Brad will show you the options that best fit your needs. We were amazed at the comfort and quality of the mattresses and the smoothness of the mechanisms, so we ordered a beautiful queen-size model with black cabinetry and above-bed lighting. (There are several color/finish options; your bed will be custom made.) Pricing is competitive, especially given the quality. We were told that lead time was about six weeks at the time (a little longer than usual, thanks to the pandemic), and it was exactly as quoted. Six weeks after ordering, Devin, the installer, called to schedule installation, saying it would take him (one guy!) only about 1 1/2 hours. He showed up on time and masked. An hour and 20 minutes later, our beautiful bed was complete. (When I expressed my amazement to him, he said he had actually constructed the unit, so it was easy for him to install.) The effect of seeing the gorgeous cabinet against our wall, with all the open space it affords in the room, was a stunning enough effect. It was even more amazing to see the luxurious bed that pulls down smoothly, along with the (in our case) remote-controlled lighting that illuminates it and allows for reading. Our daughter visited last weekend and was the first to sleep in the bed. When I asked her the next morning how she slept, she said, Well, I cant remember the last time I slept ten hours straight, so what does that tell ya? Its very comfortable! (Note: You can buy the Murphy bed with or without Bredas mattress. Get their memory foam mattress--its heavenly!)I cant say enough about our experience with Breda and the product itself. Everything was top-notch and pain-free. We love having our office space-guest room configuration and know it couldnt have come together--especially not at a fraction of the high five-figures cost for a room addition--without Breda.
Nice showroom to see the finishes and how well the beds function. Will be purchasing soon.
Very impressive. What a true local company success story!!!
Neat designs, well made, great staff.
The way they treat the employees is TERRIBLE!! everyone quits after less than one day. Its a family owned company that could care less if you ha e a family at home. They want everyone to work to the bone for zero gratitude. I have luckily never been an employee. I am married to a now previous employee. I hope this company fails or at least fires your manager Devin. 80% of employees staying for more than one year is not good business.
We love our murphy bed. Great customer service.
