We have used Greenfield Meats for years and they have always been super helpful, very friendly and professional. This was the first time I didn’t have my Dad to call in the cutting orders and take care of everything and they were so good to explain it all and walk me through the whole process. Highly recommended.

If you are able to find an alternative butcher please do. They messed up my 1/2 beef order and to fix it they only offered a $25 in-store credit. That would barely pay for one package of their beef sticks and not even come close to fixing the mistake. I will not use this place again even if I have to butcher the animal myself.Update: They said they got a different cut sheet from the place where I purchased the beef from but I talked to them and they said they NEVER provide a cut sheet for 1/2 beefs...only quarters. Apparently they also messed up on the quarters. I sent my cut sheet in and my name was attached to the order but they somehow ignored it. Im guessing they mixed up the orders and arent willing to admit it.Regardless, who screws up an order and doesnt try to make it right? Beef isnt cheap. This is an investment for my family.

Ive been using Greenfield for years. I like their professionalism and sanitary conditions. Ive been using them for years.Sadly, I just attempted to schedule cutting for my steers for next year and was told they are booked out more than a year in advance. They need to remedy that if possible.

The prices are reasonable, the meat, they get locally and its not loaded with chemicals. So the meat tastes delicious, and packaging is see through, so you can see what you are getting. I just love getting my meat from Greenfields. The staff is very friendly on top of all the other good qualities of this shop!

One word delicious! I have been enjoying the half beef I purchased from Greenfield. The wagyu beef melts in my mouth like butter and pairs like a super star with a nice red wine. I don’t believe you could get a better deal for the money. What’s nice is I don’t have to go to chandlers or steakhouses anymore I just open my freezer. You will be hard pressed to get a steak from even a high end establishment that beats these delicious cuts for taste.

Purchased half a cow. Every piece of meat we have tried has tasted old and the fat is freezer burned. Clearly this was not a freshly butchered animal. Huge waste of money, we will not return.

Purchased 4 pkgs of steaks May 22, 2020. The meat was very tough and hard to chew. I called and spoke to Matt, I believe that was his name. He promised to replace the meat when he had more in. Over the last 8 months I have called a few times, but the excuses have become ridiculous. The last time I did call, he again said he would make it right, but if I didnt hear from him, call back again. Really? This is poor business, your customers make or break you. I do not like writing a review like this, but I have been way more than patient. I think after this long, I was being strung along and he had no intention of standing by his product or his promise. Very let down, to say the least.

I bought steak for my dads birthday at Greenfield and we were all blown away by tonights dinner. I grilled him one of your rib eyes and he said it was the best steak he had ever had. The rest of us had NY Strip and the kids shared a top sirloin and it was all just so delicious.I cant wait to try the bacon we bought for breakfast tomorrow morning. The staff were really friendly and I was really impressed with how reasonable the price was for everything. We will be making regular trips to Greenfield now!

My Husband and I saw there sign a few times while driving and had never shopped at a meat processing market before. They were very friendly and helpful and the store was very clean. They seemed very knowledgeable and ready to joke around a bit, which we love. We tried a lb of bacon and a Rib Eye Steak!! We were very impressed with the flavor of both though the price is definitely more than what you would pay in the grocery stores, it was well worth it !! We will be purchasing more meat in the near future when our freezer is delivered to us.

I stopped by here because I heard the bacon was so good. So I had to try it out for myself. I can vouch for that! The bacon was absolutely amazing!! I also picked up some smoked pork chops and a tenderloin. Once I tried the smoked pork chops out, I am definitely hooked. The quality is wayyy better then any chain grocery store, Im amazed. I should of been buying all my meat from here all along. Seriously do yourself a favor and check it out for yourself, you wont be disappointed.Cant wait to try out the tenderloin steak.

Buy individual cuts if you want them.Update: was called after posting my review. She clarified the board price is for the Angus. No additional information was given regarding packaging or yield.Update 2: seller responded to review. They confirm my yield info; not sure why. They tell me the beef age. They explain the burger sizing and apologize (first time). No desire to really fix anything; just to offer excuses and insinuate I dont know yield or quality. I dont have questions or concerns; my knowledge mirrors those links. I made some assumptions. I rolled the dice. I lost. I dont recommend that readers play.Shop interactions: 2. I strongly recommend probing about the pricing and any fees. Carcass or live weight pricing isnt consistent; board is specific to select items.I went in to the shop, checked that the price on their blackboard matched the price on site, and assumed that would be the price; my first mistake. I requested a hind quarter of the Waygu cross. The cashier informed me it would be 4 to 6 weeks. He took a 150 dollar deposit. Then, he filled out a sheet containing my customization. Keep all cuts, bone in, one lb. ground beef per package, and smaller roasts rather than larger.Three weeks later, I get a call letting me know my order would be ready for pick up the next day and to bring boxes. I go in to pick it up the next day. The cashier finds my order sheet. She informs me of some fee. She has some issues and gets help. Another lady comes in, says that the fee shouldnt be there. She corrects the issue and gives me the total. Apparently the price is for Angus and they charge me 3.55 per lb. for the meat and .65 per lb. cut and wrap.Cut and wrap: 2. Expect wildly inconsistent sizing.I get that some cuts vary. I understand the one offs where there wasnt enough of the final package. However, Ive never seen so much variance. I was baffled at how wildly the sizes varied. IE: My ground beef. I have 5 packages below 12 ounces and one over 20 ounces. They rest fall in between. It really doesnt paint a picture of caring about you or your meat.Yield: 0. Expect horrible yields; yields so bad that it is cheaper to buy individual cuts from a shop window.This isnt my first visit to a butcher shop; I know yields. (Seller response confirms this). My purchase was on the hanging weight. If you call and ask the typical yield, theyll say 66 percent. This is the threshold between grade 4 and grade 5; the fifth and worst yield grade. Its right before the failing grade. The best is anything at 79.8 percent or greater. I assumed at least a 60 percent worst case when making my decision. Second mistake.While unloading my meat, I weighed it. I received 121.88 lbs. of meat. This puts my yield at 54.78 percent. The yield grade A for a boneless and lean request is 52.4 percent or greater. . My yield is so bad that its in the realm of the best grades had I gotten it de-boned and requested lean meat. Part of me wondered if thats what they had done. They didnt. The yield was just that bad. I dont know if its due to the cow, the butcher, or both. The only thing I know is that they clearly dont care about getting you good or even mediocre yield if you buy the meat through them.Meat quality 4. On average, its about a choice cut slightly below average of beef that was forage fed and grain finished.The good news is that the beef doesnt taste like feedlot beef. It tastes like its forage fed with a grain finish based on taste it was likely finished in a feedlot. The ground beef is close to about 20 percent fat. The gristle amount is a little on the high side and is noticeable. Though I added no cuts to it which will play a part in this. The round steak, true to its nature, isnt really marbled. It tastes like a mid-tier choice round steak. The higher end steaks are highly marbled and do taste like it. They are very rich. Based on what I taste, Id say not quite prime.

Place to go for anything meat! Blake the butcher is knowledgeable, friendly, and energetic. I’ve gone to other butchers in the area and I’ve found them over priced and poor quality. Moooove on over at your earliest convenience and you will be thrilled that you did!

I called ahead and spoke to a representative from the store. We spoke for a good 15 minutes about pork shoulders and what they had. I drove all the way out just to find out that they didnt have any 5 minutes after I got off the phone. The young lady I spoke to on the phone didnt seem to know much about meat either, I wouldnt recommend relying on this place if you have a large order to fill on a deadline as it seems Its common practice to promise something they are incapable of fulfilling. Huge disappointment hopefully they dont treat all their customers like this.

This place is amazing. I bought a strip steak and it was amazing. It had a really minerally smell but a lighter flavor.I was really their to get organ meat. I called 5 or 6 places around the meridian area and no one could get me a kidney except greenfield. You know this is a truly custom shop because they went out and pulled a kidney for me. Where I stay in Santa Ana CA kidneys cost me 16$ a pound for grass fed grain finished and Greenfield charge me 4 for the same thing.Thanks for the great customer service and great product Greenfield!

I lived in southern Oregon for many many years and thought i found a place that had good meat. Boy was i wrong when i moved to Nampa and tried Greenfields steaks. Tasty, large and juicy you cannot find a better cut than hear. I lived in the Nampa area for five years before having to move back and all the time i was here ive tried many of meat markets and nothing compares to these guys. And as far as pricing? well hell you cant beat that either for what you get. Keep it up guys and i will see you this friday for some ribeyes to take back home with me.

I live in Portland, Oregon. While passing through Boise I hoped to source 5 lbs. of high quality steaks to cater a special dinner for my family. I called a week in advance & spoke with the butcher himself who quickly set me up with an order of Black Angus Skirt Steak from a ranch in Melba. They even called me the next day & left a message to confirm my order was ready for pickup at my convenience.First of all, I source all of my protein from quality farms in Oregon. I grill my steaks with sea salt, pepper, and tried & true techniques that’s it because I want to taste the natural flavor of the cow. This steak was by far some of the BEST my family has ever had & EXACTLY what I was looking for. I will be back!

Been buying our meat here for years. Stopped buying grocery store meat and only come here. People are great here, its always clean, and prices are reasonable.

I ordered a whole pig and half of a cow and got almost none of the meats I asked for. I went to complain and tell them what happened and they didnt care what I had to say. And I ordered porch chops and told them not to put in pork steaks. even ended up putting in pork steaks in my order. And we werent able to talk to the manager who didn even know what he was doing.

Ive traveled all over the country these past 40 years and bought meat from everyone you can imagine - and to date this is as good as it gets. This is the real thing!

They claim to be a custom butcher shop, but if you ask to have your cow or pig or whatever animal you are having butchered they will not cut it the way you want. You get it cut the way they want to cut it. I used them once and I’ll never use them again. Go somewhere else.
