My wife and I were doing a relatively extensive home remodel (which was shown on HGTV), and we had been through several of the bigger flooring showrooms in the Treasure Valley -- we got product and installation bids from all of them. Fortunately, we were finally introduced to Michael at Factory Direct Flooring.None of those other stores compared to the customer service, knowledge, honesty, attention, competence, and savings we received from Michael. He guided us through every step of the process: helped us decide which product would make the most sense for our needs, helped us choose the design that worked with our aesthetic, was flexible with the installation schedule, and his team performed a FLAWLESS installation. These guys are amazing! They saved us a bunch of money on a large area rug I needed for my living room. We have hardwood floors and I wanted somewhere my baby could roll around and play on. I got SOFT premium quality carpet custom made in to an area rug for about $150 less than a thin standard quality area rug I could have bought at a retail store. The rug is exactly what I wanted, and my son is having a blast being able to be mobile on the rug. Jeff and Mike have amazing customer service skills too! I will DEFINITELY use them again for any future flooring work and would highly recommend them to anyone that needs flooring needs.

Michael the owner is brilliant to work with. The quotes are thorough and clear, and the prices turn out exactly like he says they will. Work is done well and quickly even on a tight timeline (this cant always be promissed but it worked out that way for us). Michael and his team replaced over 2000 Sq. Ft of floors in our home, everything from hardwood, to carpet, and lvp. He even took care of us when the movers damaged our brand new floors!

Michael at Factory Direct Flooring was the best. He helped us from start to finish with new carpet for our new home. We had to replace it because of dog urine and he even threw in enzymatic cleaner for the subfloors. The carpet was the best price we had found overall compared to about 10 other stores. His installers were very efficient, finishing in less than 2 days for 250+ sq yds of carpet. They were only a few scrapes of corners the painters had to redo (we had it painted as well), but that was to be expected with the 12 rolls and the 80oz face weight carpet we ordered. I had a dog ruin carpet in one of my rooms and Factory Direct was able to help me. I wasnt expecting it to be so affordable, prompt and match so well. The customer service is superior and the level of knowledge is high. Looking at the room you wouldnt know that all of it was replaced.

My daughter referred FDF after she used them at her home. I went to their office to pick out the carpet. After about a week the carpet is installed and looks great. FDF provided great customer service and good quality carpet. I would not hesitate to use them again. I would also recommend them to anyone needing flooring.

My husband and I are first time home buyers and needed to replace some flooring in our home. When we first contacted FDF, they were prompt to come over and give us an estimate. Their estimate was about $100 less than the next estimate that we got. It seemed like a great deal, so we went with them. We paid a non-refundable deposit and got the carpet ordered. The contractor was supposed to come on 8/9 at 9 am, so my husband and I got to work tearing up tile. We checked with FDF to see if we needed to tear up the underlayment. We explained what kind it was and that it was under tile. They told us that it did need to come up. So we got to work. The evening before the 9th, they let us know that the contractor wouldnt be able to come until 1 pm the next day. Things happen, so we rolled with it. We told FDF that we were having trouble pulling up the underlayment, and they quoted us $2/foot to remove it. We got about half the room done, and told him we would pay them to do the rest. Around noon, on 8/9, we called FDF to make sure we were still on for 1. Nope. Now the contractor wouldnt be coming until 3. He gave us the contractors number, and the contractor said that he probably couldnt make it that day at all. We were able to agree that the contractor would come and tear out the underlayment and start on the flooring the next day. He came by around 4 pm on 8/9. He said that they didnt have the equipment to tear up the underlayment and that it hadnt needed to be torn up at all. Awesome. We also had a small tile entry that needed to be cut. The contractor had not been made aware of that and didnt have the equipment to do that job either. FDF let us know that we would get to foot the bill for the rental equipment needed to tear up the underlayment, because they wasnt aware that their contractor didnt have that equipment. Really?!? I assumed, when I hired them, and that they would have contacted the contractors to make sure they had the necessary equipment. Isnt that what I was paying them for? I also was not happy that we would have $590 in additional costs because of FDFs recommendation that the underlayment needed to come up. Again, I was hiring them for their expertise. I was also being charged for 180 feet of underlayment removal, when there was only 140 feet. My floor was torn up, I needed them to get started because I have 3 small children, and I would have been out my deposit. I was kind of in a bind. The contractors got started the next day. They accidentally broke the tile in the entryway. Fine, accidents happen. But it wasnt my accident, so I shouldnt be responsible, yes. Nope. Apparently I was also going to be responsible to pay fix that too, because Im paying for everything else, why not a new entryway. The contractors did agree to carpet a small hallway to offset the broken tile, which was nice. But the contractors were overbooked, so they werent able to finish the entryway for 5 more days. Finally, the day after the job was finished, I got a call from FDF about payment. They told me that someone would be in the office all day. I went with my payment, and no one was there. So I slid it under the door. Im busy and have 3 kids. I cant drive back and forth trying to catch you. If someone isnt going to be there, and you know Im bringing a payment, please let me know. The breakdown: whatever their estimate is, add $400-500, whether because of miscommunication or mistake you are probably going to pay more. Dont count on them clearly communicating the job to the contractor or making sure they have the right equipment. It seems like they didnt clearly explain the job to our contractor, which made things more complicated for me. So my final verdict is: 2 stars because my floor looks amazing! The contractors did an excellent job. Would I work with FDF again? Probably not, Id just work out a deal with a contractor myself, it would be much less of a hassle, and then I think I would get a better idea of what the job would actually cost.
