I discovered I had leaky fluids from under my front end. Mike and his staff diagnosed my problem, worked to get me an exceptional price, and then planned and executed the repairs in a timely and efficient manner. I was hardly inconvenienced and back on the road in less than a day. Great job! Ive had previously had warranty work done, but this was my first major out of pocket work. Always satisfied.

This guys are very friendly and offers great service. Their prices are affordable. Actually it is cheap compared to what the dealership asks for wheel alignment. Their three year and lifetime plans for wheel alignment give the option to do it from any of their shops.

When I called to inquire about tires, Mike was extremely knowledgeable and helped me to evaluate the various brands and styles which were available. When I went in the next day, I purchased four new tires and was given a couple options for coupon discounts, free oil change packages, etc. without any sales pressure. They did a great job and for the exact price which I was quoted the previous day. Through it all, the service was friendly and fast.

I have been having my car serviced here for over a year. Always received good service and very friendly attitudes. No pressures. Fully explains job to be done and the costs.

I LOVE CAR-X~!! I first started going to them over a yr ago. I had a coupon for brakes. I thought I would have to get both front and back. To my surprise, they found my back brakes were fine, I just needed to get my fronts done That included shoes and such. I also had to replace my front rotors. That was unexpected, however, I was surprised. I thought that would run me well over $500. It was right around $300. that was great!! Then to top that off, They gave me a coupon/card, for a Free year of Oil changes, which I m still using!! That was so AWESOME!!The mechanics do not talk down to you, they talk to you!! they are friendly, and speak to you in terms, you understand.I also came in there a couple other times, during the year, and came without an appointment even, and they still got me in. The hours they have are good. I have met the manager, who is super friendly, and knowledgeable. The mechanics are certifiable. I trust them! I was spending sooo much money, at other places, not only on oil changes but for other maintenance work, and CAR-X has saved me a bundle!!I have already recommended them to several co-workers and a few neighbors.I also look out for coupons and specials that they run. This is a terrible place to take your vehicle. Theyou will recommend you work you dont need because theyre not sure what the problem really is. Nobody here are actually certified except for the manager who works up from and doesnt do any actual work. D not let the manager Mike drive your vehicle for any reason as he does not have a valid drivers license. 7 times out of 10, if you get work done here, you will be back for the same problem or a new one. They dont have an actual air conditioning machine, they just shoot your system full and just make sure air is cold causing the system to either be over charged or under charged. They usually end up blowing your condenser or evaporator core by doing so. They are shady and will tell you anything to get your business. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT MORE PROBLEMS OR UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE WORKING ON YOUR VEHICLE. take to shaver down on Broadway if you want good, quality work done by certified professionals.

The staff is very friendly. The manager explains the services in laymans terms. I like the fact that I can get in as early as 7:30 am and not spend the entire day getting a oil change. I certainly recommend this shop.

I had my front brakes job and I was satisfied with the job done and the overall customer service demonstrated.

I took my van into Car X in Merrillville, Indiana, for a fuel pump. They charged me about $110.00 to do a diagnostic, and about $450.00 for parts and labour, about $567.00 total. When I got my car back, I could hear a loud pop, when I turn my steering wheel, a sound Ive never heard previously. But I just wanna get the car home, and I got on the expressway I65, and while I was driving, it felt like my wheel was coming off, so I got off the expressway, and looked at my tire, and saw that my tire rod was unscrewed from the car, I could have killed myself on the expressway. I dont know if they did it on purpose, or not, but they should have informed me that my car was unsafe to drive. They should have known, because they drove my car to the parking lot, and Car X specialize in front end work.

I am a disabled firefighter and I had gone to Chicago to visit a college buddy that I had not seen in 32 years. Upon my departure back home, I got a flat tire along the Tristate Freeway. After receiving help getting my spare on along the Tristate, I was on my way home. Once I got back into Indiana I stopped by Car-X in Merrillville to see what I needed to get back on the road safely, I spoke with Mike and he had Jeremy take a look at my flat tire. Once he realized that I had only ran over a screw, he repaired it then asked for my keys to put the original tire back on my car and put the spare back in my trunk.Once Jeremy got the original tire back on and made my car safe again, he and Mike refused to accept payment for their service stating that it was their way of showing appreciation for my having been a career fireman. Ill forever be grateful for their gesture and the character they showed that day.Kudos to Car-X for hiring such quality individuals.

The gents at Merrillville Car-X are very passionate about helping people to keep their vehicles on the road for as long as needed. They are the type of individuals who take the worry away so you can enjoy life. To that end, I can not say enough about Mike and his crew.Unless you’re a mechanic, dealing with an auto shop may require a leap of faith. But if you pay attention to what your mechanic says (and does), you’ll find clues that could tell you whether you’re being deceived. Having worked in the field of automotive manufactuing for the last 20+ years, I have a pretty good grasp of automotive basics. Hence I can assure you that Car-X is the place for your automotive concerns.Even though this shop is small I have never waited long to get my car in. Dont expect a fancy lobby or free WiFi while you wait. However you can be assured that your car will be fixed right the first time at a reasonable price. These gentleman are a rare find and I highly recommend them. In fact my overall satisfaction with repairs, upkeep and parts replacement are on a par with many dealers garages I have visited in my work. Finally, their timeliness of their work is always done when promised. Also, the staff are knowledgeable as well as personable and courteous. If you need a lift home, they are more than happy to oblige. If you work with people and treat them as professionals, they will return the compliment every time.I have been driving for almost 50 years now an these are the type of people who bring the old school notions of honest work, fair pricing and customer satisfaction into a modern world that badly needs such integrity. I am more that happy with the overall repair satisfaction they supplied. Their quality of work, and pricing are equal to or lower than many of their competitors. More importantly, the timeliness of their efforts combined their knowledge and courtesy were a welcome change to most shops I have seen. Finally, they even stayed late on a Friday night to finish my vehicle.
