Horrible horrible horrible company. No shows on my installation day. And they weren’t able to give me a reason. Don’t use this company. So many better security companies out there. Horrible customer service.
Through the Defenders Arm of this organization, I tried to call off the appt the day of and the installer insisted on coming and doing the job. I never really agreed here she was with a trainrr at my door. Next thing you know I am giving her my credit card. # the system never worked she said it was my WI FI FSULT. NEEDLESS TO SAY A NIGHTMARISH BATTLE EITH ADT ever since.
System goes down and I am told someone will be out to fix it 10 days later. Unacceptable! That was in August 2020. System out again. Called on 11/19, told someone would be out on 11/21 between 8am and noon. They dont show and when I call, they say a time was never set for today (although, they acknowledge that I called to say my system was down on 11/19) so they ask, would you like to make an appointment? Next appointment is for 11/27. Worthless waste of money on this company that says theyre there for you 24/7/365!
Megan was great and explained the system and how to use it very well! I would ask for her again if I needed help again. The installation and activation went well and it helped to have a person with a good attitude. Great!
My experience with protect your home was fantastic.. The technician was great .. My alarm is working good, an easy transition from a competitive company.. Everyone should have this experience.
SHADY BUSINESS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Only gave one star because I cant give 0. Been a customer for 2 years and Im switching to a local company. ADT may have a good rep nationally, but the local Protect your Home office (only an adt retailer, not actually ADT, which is the first bait n switch, as they put Protect your Home as if it were the tagline next to ADT in ads, trying to disguise they are just a subcontractor) in greater NOLA is a shady business. From the beginning, any prices you see are a bait and switch. I fell for it instead of saying no thank you on the day of install thinking it had to be worth the over 2000 dollar price (for 1 alarm panel, 2 smoke, 2 CO2 and 15 door/window sensors). Totally not worth it! Equipment is always offline no matter how strong my internet connection is. Installers did a shoddy and careless job, leaving lots of bright white wiring on the side of my house, easy to spot and cut for criminals. They dont tell you how the install works, so my main panel is in a useless location in event of emergency. They charge hundreds of dollars per hour to come out and address any issues youre having. Customer service is horrible, rude and abrasive on the phone. Foolishly, I kept spending with them and added cameras, which are usually offline just like the whole system. The techs talked me out of where I wanted the cameras and put them where it was easiest for them to install. When I called to add a 3rd to address my perimeter blind spots and requested they move the other two, I was treated extremely rudely and told its two separate things, do I wanna buy another camera or not. I was so taken aback I dropped the idea, now I called the national number, told them all that had happened, they apologized profusely and gave me a deal on adding a new camera and promised that same tech would address any issues with current equipment and promised to move the existing cameras as part of the deal. When that appt came, the tech pushed a contract for the new camera in my face, and when I mentioned the other issues, it was the same story as before, not what Im here for, Id have to call my manager (the same manager who had treated me horribly on the phone previously). So again a bait n switch, promises made on the phone to get them in your house where they do whatever they please. I wasnt even complaining about the monthly monitoring price (also skyrockets once they are at your house and explain how crappy of service the advertised prices would get you and you need to buy the more expensive package), but even that is more than 2x the price of a good local company. I generally dont write reviews online, but in this case I truly hope people see this and avoid making the same costly mistake I did: dealing in any way shape or form with Protect your Home in the greater NOLA area! AVOID!
One star is way too good for this company. BEWARE and stay away from ADT. They are criminals. I signed up with them because the house I purchased already had equipment and the sales guy said that it was compatible. The install tech ended up removing my equipment and botched the new installation. I called the supervisor Chris Clark, and he assured me that they would contact me after the 4th of July holiday to get it corrected. That date came and went...nothing. A month passed and still the system wasnt working. I called to cancel the contract and they refuse to cancel it saying it is passed the 3 day cancellation time. After dozens of unanswered calls, texts, emails, and online chats to get it corrected...it is still not working and they are still holding me to this fradulent contract. Its almost comical how quickly my calls were returned before I signed that fradulant contract. ADT is the ABSOLUTELY THE WORST company that Ive ever dealt with and I hope no one else ever has to go through that. They seriously need to be shut down for their unscrupulous business practices. Even their positive google reviews were bought and paid for. Im betting this one will be removed within days, but I will repost it, so they can no longer steal from other customers.I hope that everyone heeds warnings about ADT. There is no reason anyone should be locked into an expensive contract with a terrible company in order to pay more for substandard service and outdated equipment. There are lots of options that do not require a contract - try any of those first. These companies keep customers based on being good companies with which to do business instead of holding customers to worthless contracts with huge exit costs.
