This is my second time going there. Seen two different people each time. Brought in 25 coins on paper they put 20 gave me 125$. Few weeks later went back with about 45 coins on paper they put down I sold them 12 coins and I got ripped off this time only got 180. I didnt kno wat I had but expected them to treat me fairly and dont feel as I was treated fair. If a manager or something could give me a call Id appreciate it

Went in today to sell my 2020 v75 american silver eagle received the same price as I would of on ebay after paying fees. I then used the money I had received for the trade to buy some 1 ounce silver coins and a tenth ounce gold eagle. Aldo helped me out. He was a really nice guy and was a pleasure to work with. Definitely recommend going there if you are looking for bullion or looking to sell bullion or looking to sell some coins.

During the disbursement of my parents estate we discovered a small collection of coins and memorabilia that my dad had acquired over the years. I searched for reputable dealers, asked around and decided to give SC&PM a visit. I was immediately made at ease and felt welcome. After a short wait I visited with Aldo who quickly & efficiently reviewed the various coins and efficiently priced each item. He stated at the outset that the assessment was free. I left to consult the rest of my family. As we agreed to liquidate the collection, I made a second trip to SC&PM. This included some additional coinage discovered and a 2nd assessment was made with the same efficiency and friendly attitude. We received what I believe a fair & honest assessment, a check was made to the executor while I waited. All in all a pleasant visit & experience.

When shopping for bullion I find the superior place to go is to your local coin dealer. I do buy online but not nearly as often as visiting my local shop to see it and hold it while I consult with experts with whom I have built face to face relationships. My local coin dealer of choice is definitely SCPM, specifically Aldo. He always answers my questions promptly and provides what I’m looking for truly at the best prices in the area. I used to order silver bullion online, but if the delivery was made when I wasnt home I would have to go to the depot to collect it, which was inconvenient. Finding out about Southern Coins made my life much easier, now I just call a guy named Aldo and he has my order ready for pick up on Friday at lunch time. I dont think I could have had a better experience selling to SCPM. I sent them a list of my inventory, and a friendly appraiser named Bob Jane got immediately back to me. Their prices were a little better than two large online companies I checked, so I mailed them my coins. Bob called me back and made two small adjustments in price--in my favor!--which I wasnt expecting and told him he didnt have to do since wed agreed on a price. Very fair prices for buying American coins (see update below), extremely knowledgeable staff, very professional environment.This is not one of those We Buy Gold places. This is the real deal with employees with 15+ years of Numismatic experience. And they pay completely fair, realistic prices i.e. the spot price for the gold in your coin plus any numismatic value it possesses. Some of those We Buy Gold shops dont even pay the full spot price, much less any numismatic value.Update: Everything I said above is true for American coins, whether gold or silver, regardless of year or rarity -- this is their area of expertise. And they are experts in this area. SCMP is also great for scrap gold and silver.However, foreign coins are a different matter. They are not experts in this area and rely on outside information for some, if not most, foreign coins that carry a significant Numismatic value. This can result in unreasonably low offer prices in my opinion.For foreign coins, besides extremely popular ones such as the South African Krugerrand or Canadian Maple Leaf, please do research (as you should do regardless) to help best determine the current Numismatic value of your coin (look at what others have actually paid for it within the past month or two and subtract the current price of the gold). Online actions are a surprisingly good reference point, but be sure to look at prices of coins which actually sold (completed auctions), not just the asking price of auctions in progress.But with auctions, you have to remember the person buying the coin is the person who wants the coin. SCMP, or any business that buys coins with Numismatic value, or any business for that matter, has to make a profit when they resell the coin or they would go out of business. A fair offer should always be fair for both parties involved.If you have a foreign coin that carries a significant Numismatic value ($100 and up) from your research, be sure to get a fair offer price or you may have to take your coin to a couple other REPUTABLE dealers to see what they can offer. And dont be afraid to negotiate, but within reason. As I mentioned before, all businesses have to make money to stay in business (eBay, for example, charges the seller at least 10% of the final sale price, and PayPal charges an additional 3%+ when the buyer pays).
