I have heard great things about about the eye doctors here. Unfortunately for me and my family they only take two family members a day and I had three that needed an appointment. If it was not a 300 plus mile round trip that wouldn’t be a problem but we can’t just come next the day for an additional appointment and another 300 plus miles. I let the office staff know how far we were traveling and still no change.

I had an emergency with my eyes while driving. I started seeing image of sharp, jagged edges in my line of vision with both eyes and panicked. I called VHS and they said I could come on in even though it was late in the day. Not knowing which doctor could see me was not an issue with me although it ended up Dr. Sheets (my regular eye doctor) is the one who saw me. After a brief, but thorough exam, I was relieved to learn I was having a visual headache in the back of my brain and it should pass, which it did.

They went above and beyond to get me in quickly. They got me in within an hour of Colleen I had a severe eye affection with an ulcer. Everyone was extremely friendly and very professional. The doctor was very attentive and explained everything to me in detail. I would highly recommend Vision Health specialist to anyone that ask. One of the best experiences I’ve had in Midland /Odessa. I’m just visiting here from Oklahoma, made me feel at home an they treated me like family!

Only reason I’m leaving a 3 star review is because they were able to get us in quickly for eye exams. Doctor was very impersonal. Went in for contacts. Was asked twice if we were interested in glasses Both times I said NO ONLY CONTACTS. After the exam we were seated in a waiting area. Waited for about 20-30 minutes before I had to ask how much longer it would be. They finally got to us and they proceeded sell us glasses. I told her AGAIN we didn’t want glasses. She left us sitting there for another 10 minutes to find out what was going on. Came back and took us to get checked out. We should have been taken straight to the check out desk after the eye exams. They were catering to their agenda (up selling) and not mine. I will stick with Dr. Carpenter from now on.

I have been getting my eye exams here every year for 8 years now. I have always been seen at my appointment time without any long waits. The Dr is very good at getting my exam done and explaining everything to me. Each time I am in and out in about an hour or less. If I need to pick out frames it takes a little longer because i am picky, but the staff is very patient and helpful in getting me what i need/ want.

Great care and thoughtfulness by my Visual Therapist. She was one step ahead of me the entire session, instinctively meeting my needs (e.g., minimizing inside lighting, being prepared for all my symptom as that were exacerbated by the therapy).Very caring and professional. She knew exactly what she was doing; it’s nice to find an expert at anything they do out here! Very refreshing!

From walking in to walking out I felt so comfortable as a parent, my daughter is 4 and was recommended by her school nurse to get seen by a specialist for her eyes. She is on medicaid and alot of places turned her down because she wasnt 5 and on medicaid. I was so worried because I knew she needed to be seen. When vision health specialties was recommended by a friend I felt so at ease because they accepted her with medicaid and for her age. When we arrived they did everything they could to get the most accurate test back and at the end of it all we felt comfortable, assured that she is going to be taken care of and start the process on this new journey. Thank you health vision specialties for caring for my baby and making her visit comfortable for all of us.

The office personnel is always very friendly and helpful! The facility is kept very tidy and clean. They are definitely following the CDC COVID guidelines. Dr. Cook has been my ophthalmologist for the past 27 years. He is very professional and thorough when he does my eye exam. I would definitely recommend Vision Health Specialties!

This was a very pleasant experience. The staff is professional, courteous, friendly, skilled and knowledgeable. In fact, it was the best experience I had in the Midland-Odessa area as I am a resident of Oklahoma. I would highly recommend this facility. It is clean and all COVID-19 precautions are taken to ensure a safe experience

After hearing some recommendations about this place I figured i would give this place a try. The whole process from setting up an appointment to walking out the door was very pleasant. Had no problems through the whole process. Happy i choose this place for my eyes.

Dr. Cook, and staff were absolutely amazing. I came in with “something” in my eye. This was what the urgent care doc diagnosed. Dr. Cook, quickly found an ulcer in my right eye. He prescribed some medicated eye drops. Within a week I’m back to normal. I’m very grateful for his expertise, and the professionalism of his staff.

I first used VHS for my two boys and was beyond satisfied with our experience. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and very calming. They treated us with respect and a bit of humor to calm some nerves.When I needed to be seen for what I thought was a scratched cornea, I was able to come in within an hour and actually was seen and checked out before my actual appointment time! Again the entire staff was delightful and made my day much easier.I would recommend VHS to any and everyone!

I’ve been a patient for 30 years and have received excellent vision care. The extended hours accommodate us 9-5 workers, I can order glasses and/or contacts immediately after eye exam without leaving the building, can walk-in during business hours and have my glasses adjusted, and the doctors and staff are knowledgeable and efficient.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and helped immediately. Didnt wait long either when a woman of GREAT character came to get me and took me to each station which was cleaned before and after myself. 😁 Dr Cook and Mrs Jazz came in quickly and got me took care of with care and conversation. The young lady was eager and happy to help when getting my new glasses 👓 too. Its important to me to feel welcomed and cared for and not just another patient. Thank you Vision Health Specialties.

The office is always clean and orderly. COVID-19 policies were followed.. Staff is always friendly, informative and helpful. The doctors are professional and friendly. I usually see Dr Sheets. He is very thorough and informative. They seem to have the most up to date equipment and technology.

The staff was friendly and fast. They also ensured cleanliness by disinfecting equipment after it was used. I am always pleased with my visits here.

I paid everything that same day and until this day I have not received a phone call ONCE to update me on her glasses I have to be calling every single day asking and they only tell me they are not ready we will call you …….

Ever since I first got glasses I used VHS for over 10 years. They are overpriced and my eye exams were always rushed. Staff is mostly friendly but I remember having bad experiences when I tired contacts and Dr. Cook always came off as distant on his best days and just plain rude on his worse. I dont expect to have fun at any type of Doctors but it always felt like hassle during the eye exam and that Im the one that being difficult because I cant make out which lens of super fuzzy is better.My mother also had a much worse experience. She needed a referral to see a specialist in Lubbock after months of really bad vision and constant floaters. She couldnt focus read books watch T.V or anything and was repeatedly told you will get used to it when she asked for the referral she was refused by Dr. Cook and had to make another appointment in the office with another Doctor to finally get it done. In Lubbock when doing the exam they start talking about her cataracts that she was never informed of in the slew of appointments she had months prior. Or maybe they just missed it every single time. Im not a Optometrist but I dont think you can just get used to cataracts.For the first time today I finally tried going somewhere else and I never knew what I was missing. The staff and doctor had great attitudes and made me feel welcome. The exam was carried out in a way that I was confident in my script probably for the first time. I was also able to get an exam and two pairs of glasses for cheaper than just the cost of an exam at VHS.

Prompt friendly service. Dr. Cook took the time to explain what he was checking. Everyone was very informative.

My daughter had an appointment today to get contacts. The experience with the doctor was great. The contact training was not good at all. My daughter needed to be able to put in the contacts and take them out before she would be allowed to take them home. Which I completely understand. However, I was not allowed to stay with her which was frustrating. I have been wearing contacts for 20 years and I would have liked to be able to help her. She said the lady was not very nice to her and didnt help her at all. She did not tell her what to do. After 30 mins they came and got me and said she would have to reschedule for another time. The lady we dealt with was very rude and acted like we were such an inconvenience to her. I asked to speak to a manager but was told that there was not one there.

Everyone is nice and very professional. They take COVID control serious and you feel very safe!

Great and friendly service. Almost no wait time!! The place to go when you are experiencing vision problems, need a yearly exam or need your glasses adjusted. They also give you a reminder about your appointment either by phone call or text.

I had a wonderful visit yesterday with Dr. Grigsby. He is such a caring and understanding eye doctor. I really enjoyed my time with Kelly - she is an absolute doll and very knowledgeable. I do not like to wear glasses and do not have a good face for them, however, thanks a million to Naomi who not only helped me find the perfect pair, she is an absolute treasure. She was extremely helpful and knows her business! I would highly recommend everything and everyone at Vision Health Specialties.

I have conducted my vision work with Doctor Billy Cook and highly recommend his work. Very professional man. The only thing I disagree with is insurance coverages, mine does not cover at their location for eye ware. So I have to go to other places.

I called to schedule and in a fortunate turn of events I was able to get an appointment time within 20 minutes of calling. The staff is always so nice and supportive and Dr. Grigsby is a gem of a human being.

During the visit, everyone was awesome, the only reason I dont give them five stars its because the waiting for the new glasses its way to long!!

Called in an asked for the measurements of the glasses I got from them 4-5 years ago. I was refused the measurement and told I have to come in an get measured. You need my weight or something. Its historical medical information I have already paid for. WITF! And the eye exam and contacts for this year was 475 dollars. That will be the last time.

I have been a patient for at least 20 years. I have never in my life had such a hard time making an appointment. First, I requested an appt from the reminder email that was sent to me but I never heard anything back. I get a letter by mail as a reminder to make an appt so I call and get put on hold twice for over 15 minutes just to make a simple appointment. I am not one to complain but inefficient office staff is enough for me to find another optometrist if need be. I also think it is important for the doctors at this establishment to be alerted to the fact that there are several issues that are preventing patients from making appointments. Most people would have hung up after 5 minutes and called another business.

There’s not enough stars in the sky to rate this place! VERY Professional every step of the way... beginning at the door. They take everyone’s health & safety with this virus VERY seriously. Really well organized with the amount of patients they deal with every day.The Doctor was great, and he took the time to answer all of my questions & concerns. This was so important to me, as I take my Condition seriously, and he really eased my mind. And...last but not least, the girls! The backbone of this place, these girls (receptionist’s included) keep it running smoothly......with professionalism, helpfulness, & humor! I was a loyal Phillips Eye Clinic customer, but I decided to give Vision Health a chance with hopes for a lower price. However, this was not the case. Not only did I find myself paying a significant amount more at Vision, but I was given embarrassingly poor service. My wait time was absurd, in and outside the waiting room. I received my glasses over a month past the expected date due to two different excuses. Note, I was not made aware of these “minor issues” Vision was facing with my order until I called several times. After a long process, I finally received my glasses, and I am enraged with the quality. It is absolutely pathetic. My left lens had fallen out a numerous amount of times. I typically just pop it back in to avoid dealing with the shameful service Vision has to offer, but today, my patience seized to exist. I am thrilled to return to Phillips Eye Clinic where I am valued as a customer.

Youre not gonna find a better optometrist office in Midland. Visionhealth Specialties covers everything related to Optometry.Drawbacks-There have been a couple times where Ive walked in and the front desk was a little rude or just not in a very good mood or tone but are usually on top of their game.-In house eyeglass store has high end name brand frames so unless that is what you like its stupid expensive and might as well ask for prescription.Features-At their drive thru window you can pick up your contacts on the go instead of having to wait in line inside.-They have their own in-house eyeglasses shop which carries high-end frames (Again, very expensive) but like I said earlier if thats not the route youre going you can always ask for your prescription.

Dr Grigsby is GREAT!!! However my appointment was at 8:30 a.m. for the field vision test with eye exam at 9:00 a.m. They took people ahead of me and it was 10:00 a.m. before I got to see the doctor. By the way I was in the office at 8:10 a.m. and did not leave until 11:00 a.m. Dr Gigsby did apologize for the lateness of me getting to see him. Oh yes, my mom said someone even called from the office saying I missed my appointment and wondered where I was!!! This worried my 91 year old mother.

Usually a professional, albeit not overly friendly place for my vision needs. However, a young woman there was extremely rude, condescending and laughed when I asked for her manager. Manager half -heartedly apologized and tried to pass off frames that were obviously damaged.Unfortunately I wont be going back, as I have been for the past 5 years. Does customer service even exist anymore?
