My ABC hydraulic fluid in MB SL500 was low. I called and they said I could just stop by to top it off. I was very nervous driving the car with low fluid and they accommodated my last minute request. Very professional folks and they seem to care. I would definitely go back there for other services.

Wow!! Talk about BMW experts. I have been having on and off issues with a mini going into the famous BMW limp modei. I thought it was a sensor deep in the engine. Nope it was a bad wire. Rudy got it up and running in two days and did not break the bank also. Minis can get expensive fast!! Thank you!! I will BE recommending my bmw and german car folks about you guys!

Helmut’s always has top quality work and service but this last time they really outdid themselves.After my battery died, the car was towed to Helmut’s in case there was another issue.After the car was ready, we could not pick it up because my husbands car would not start. it was a cold rainy day and my husband said he would walk.They helped out: drove up to our home, delivered the car, and even helped with my husbands car!!!!Their generosity and humanity really shone and we are forever grateful.Thank you Rudy, Eunice and the technician that came out. This is above and beyond the call of duty.

Since moving to Connecticut, Ive been trying to find an honest mechanic to service my BMW X5 E70. My mechanic that Ive used for years in far away and started not caring and over charging. I did a Google search and saw the reviews and had a good feeling. I met Rudy and I trusted him right away. Very honest caring professional that will find what the problem is with your car and on top of that he checks the car completely and he will let you know about preventive maintenance on what may be needed to be done to the car within time. I highly recommend him, he knows what he is doing, he really cares and is not some fly by night mechanic, hes the real deal.

So let me just start off by saying Rudy is exceptional and so is his staff. My daughter is away on a volunteer program in NY and I was put in charge of her car (yep, I failed). Car battery went, key would not open locks, alarm was going off faintly until it eventually died too. I had no clue what to do or where to turn no way to open the car to get to the battery. I even tried calling Mercedes service center trying to figure out why key would not open door so I could at least recharge battery. Needless to say I got NO HELP from anyone or anywhere. A friend told me about Rudy who is actually down the street from me. (Yeah clueless I know) She told me if he couldnt help then I was out of options. I walked into their office and told him about what was going on. He CAME to my house got the key to open the trunk and gave me a charger to charge battery overnight. Got the car going the next morning. I have no words to thank him. A simple thank you is not enough. The man went out of his way, helped me out and all with a smile and a kind word. Needless to say my BMW and Mercedes will be serviced there going forward. His help and kindness cannot be measured. I cannot say enough. I owe this man and I wont forget him. Rudy, you are one of a kind.

I’ve been going to Helmuts for years now (I have a BMW so I’m always in there for something) and I always had a great experience with Bob who was honest and did great work on time. Bob sold the business to Rudy who is just an incredible person. Rudy is the nicest, friendless guy who is very knowledgable. He is always honest about what needs to get done and he has even replace things free of charge. It is so hard to find a good honest mechanic nowadays but I think Helmuts is truly a diamond in the rough. Yes, you may have to wait a bit for an appointment but it is a testament to how busy and thorough they are there. 10/10 highly recommend

I wanted to do an oil change on my 335 and needed to get the oil filter on short notice, so I went to Helmut’s to get an oil filter. Rudy helped me find the right filter I needed and even lent me an oil filter wrench that I was planning to buy from Autozone. I went home, changed my oil, returned the wrench to Rudy and he insisted to take my used oil & filter, and helped me reset my service lights. Great customer service 👍🏽

I was travelling into Bridgeport from Philadelphia late at night when I ran over some debris on NJ Turnpike. Helmuts was closest to my hotel, so I left a message at 2am and Rudy called me at 7:30a next day . He fit me in, made valid suggestions on what to do, and had me back on the road the same day. Best car service business in the area! Rudy is an honest guy. My dealership told me I need brake pads front and rear. I went to Rudy for second opinion. He called me to my car and showed me my brake pads. Turns out they were not even half way worn out. Needless to say I only take my car to Rudy!

A reputable shop with an honest owner. Rudy went out of his way on more than one occasion to help me out. The first time I went in there, I had owned my BMW for less than 3 days before it needed a solenoid. Rudy rearranged his schedule to get my car in the next day to get it taken care of. A few months later, I called him from out of state with some questions and he happily took the time to share his knowledge. I would give more than 5 stars if I could, just an honest and friendly guy running a shop the correct way. Wish I was local again so he could be my go to shop.

He specializes in German makes, but can service other foreign nameplates as well.

Ive had a couple exceptionally poor experiences with Bob @ Helmuts before taking my business elsewhere. Unfortunately I gave him a couple chances due to his proximity to my office, a decision Im paying for now! Most recently he installed a factory BMW Auxiliary Input kit in my M car and managed to drill into the AC system in the process. This has caused a hole (of course) and made the system unable to hold a charge. In the past we suffered through Hemuts having to do a valve cover gasket job 3 times before getting the gasket to sit correctly, misdiagnosing issues over and over, etc, etc, etc. He has literally cost me thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs!! I have done business with many companies that step up to plate when they make a mistake, this is NOT one of them.

They are operating under a false business name according to the DMV which is illegal!!!!!!!. Bob has sold this business. Rudy is extremely unprofessional and will damage your car claiming you need more work done. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!!!!! Also through looking at other reviews RUDY has had friends make fake posts to boost his illegal business!!!!!

After my search for a Mercedes 4matic wagon in the Midwest yielded no results I began looking farther east. I found a candidate in Stratford and worked with the seller to have a pre-purchase inspection done at Helmuts.I was very impressed with their customer service and pre-purchase inspection report. My confidence in the inspection allowed me to purchase the car unseen and feel confident I would be able to drive it 600 miles home.Niw, I just wish I lived close enough to have Helmuts do all my routine maintenance.

It is hard to find a shop that is honest and fair. Helmuts foreign car service are both, honest and fair. It will be my only auto shop I use.
