Sailors done a great job with the all wheel alignment and mount and balancing on my front tires. They were more than helpful with a few other questions I had about my truck as well. William was the lead mechanic I talked to and was very pleased with his customer service and helpful advice. Thanks William. The lady that checked me in was more than pleasant to talk to as well. I live in Lawrence now but my family has been going to Kipp for decades. Last week, my car was shaking on the highway on my way home and I was late for an appointment so I decided to take my car to the dealership in Lawrence instead of turning around to take it to Kipp. That was a mistake. As dealerships do, they tried to tell me that I needed $800+ worth of repairs and a full set of new tires. I called Kipp and cried on the phone with him for 20 minutes while he comforted me and asked how he could best help. I picked it up and took it to Kipp that day. He not only saved me hundreds of dollars on unnecessary repairs, he also gave me peace of mind. I cant recommend Sailors enough.

Was very impressed with Sailors. Took my car in with two problems. They checked out the problems, found a recall out and my vehicle and determined the other problem was not a issue. They could have easily corrected both and charged me. I will defiantly go back and recommend them.

They helped me with my rusty license plate bolts (for no charge since it seemed that it was a very quick job), and went above and beyond, equipping me with new bolts and some spray that will keep them from rusting again. These guys are helpful, honest, and great to work with. I will be back to have them work on my oil leak they informed me about today! Would recommend this awesome business.

Kip was fantastic and took care of my fender quickly and the price was right! Im pretty sure if I went to a dealer or somewhere else they would have tried to do a full replacement but Kip just fixed it and saved me a bunch. Thanks!

I always feel like Im being treated fairly. The guy up front is friendly, takes the time to talk even when hes busy, and the work theyve done on both of my cars has stood up.

They work quick and for a very reasonable price. I take my truck there every time it needs work. They do not do a very good job at calling when the work is done though, so make sure you call them when they say it will be done. They have always finished their work by the time they said they would though, which is great.

Bait n switch swindler! Lousy customer service. Poor communication. They took originally told me my car would be fixed in a day but ended up chatging $400 more than they originally quoted to replace my clutch give days later.I dropped my car off on a Monday. Kipp quoted me $900 for a clutch and told me it would be done by end of day Tuesday. Tuesday he told me maybe Wednesday. Wednesday he told me probably Friday due to ordering a flywheel, which they initially said only needed refurbished and wouldnt cost extra.At no point did he mention that hed be charging me $400 more until it came time to pay.Will NOT do business there again. I can not recommend this shop when there are so many other honorable, hard working mechanics who dont swindle hundreds of dollars from their customers.Very disappointing experience. Had they quoted me properly from the start I would have taken my car elsewhere.

They did a good job on my old Mercury Grand Marquis..but their repair bill fell at the top of the estimated cost. Possibly should have been 150.00 cheaper. But it runs great.

Excellent!! i will ALWAYS bring my car(s) to Sailors. Kip and his great team have always done the best work on my cars. Customer service is outstanding. I always recommend them with high regard.

We called Kipp for a second opinion estimate and were very pleased with the results. He thoroughly explained to us the problem with our car. Since the car is 16 years old and we werent sure whether it was worth getting fixed at this point, Kipp even discussed options for salvaging or donating the car. We didnt use their services this time (primarily because of the age of the car and magnitude and cost of the problem), but we will go back next time we need an auto repair.

James was great. Car hood wasnt opening. When he figured out what was wrong and noticed that some parts just needed a little lubrication, he did the service and did not even charge me. He couldve sold me up on something else but didnt. Honest, customer service friendly

After having a flat tire repaired here, I recommended this garage to a family member who had a terrible experience. I then reconsidered information Mr. Sailors had given me on my visit. I was surprised when he told me I needed a new battery because it had been replaced October 2014. When I asked if there was a way to tell the age of the battery or to test it, he said no, despite the battery being clearly date stamped with a large pink sticker and having the Triple A warranty information printed on it. Obviously, this misinformation was a big red flag that I should have paid serious attention to before making the mistake of recommending this business to someone else.

Kipp and his wife Stephanie are a dream to work with. Great shop, fair rates and honest owners. What else do you need? I highly recommend them to anyone in the KC metro area.

Terrific staff, terrific work, and terrific customer service! I took my car in to get the air conditioner recharged and they were so helpful and made sure it was done correctly. I know where I will be taking my car the next time ANYTHING needs to be done to it.

Over the past several years Kip has proven to be the most reliable place to get my vehicles repaired. The prices are usually the best and the quality of work is the best. I would recommend them to anyone who need car work done.

This a really great mom and pop type company, that will take good care of your vehicle and give you a great deal. They are cheaper than their competitors like Firestone and Midas, but also do better and higher quality of work. I had them work on my transmission from my Kia Spectra, and I had a great experience. At this point I intend to have them take care of all of my needs. The owner is a great guy and I recommend Sailors Autocare to all.

I have taken my car here twice, both times it takes longer than expected and their communication is not the best. Both times I have come here they always find some laundry list of problems on my car- and all of it seems to be urgent. I know my car is old and likely needs work, but it runs just fine and I feel like Im being gouged for money, which isnt ideal because Im in grad school and dont have a ton of it. After being here twice I will not be returning.Edit-I may have been harsh with my review, the staff is actually very kind and they work very hard, I just havent had the best experience with timing and schedule. The mechanics do good work! Keep it up guys!

Been using them for a while, on my most recent visit they got my car looked at right away. I had thought the issue had been due to a mechanic mistake from a previous visit, but it was just something else wearing out and needing replaced. They agreed to get it fixed the next day. Everyone has always been helpful, friendly, and willing to take you into the shop and show you the problem whenever you ask.

This is truly the worst auto shop I have ever been to. Not only was it a total rip off but that “found “ several problems that I didn’t even bring my car in for. They “lost” the old parts. After keeping my car for over two weeks and $1800 it works worse than it did before.

My experience included multiple return trips in order to complete some brake repairs that shouldnt have been that complicated in the first place.

I have been using Sailors Automotive for 16 years now. I was referred there by a friend of mine. I have sent many friends to Kip over the years. I fully trust the business. Kip is alwayz straight forward about what is wrong with the cars. He also gives me a heads up if he thinks another problem is brewing. I really appreciate this insightfulness so I can prepare for the repair when its actually needed. I dont trust any other automotive care center like I do this one.

I would not recommend this shop to anyone. Will rob you blind for repairs that are not nessicary. They will try to sell you things that you do not need by making it seem urgent. Extremely rude owner. Poor communication.
